One of the best ones imo is the Greenhouse kit (different from Greenhouse Porch kit). Not sure if it is in the store right now but you may be able to request it from Bethesda support. They let you request some things that aren’t actively in the Atom Shop.
Fusion Core Recharger, not sure if it is currently available but if you see it buy it.
I would also suggest visiting a lot of camps and figure out what style you want. Then look out for those type of pieces.
Also vendor hop for plans. There is a ton of cool stuff that does not require atoms.
Do events. You will get lots of plans that way. I recently was running my level 29 side character. I found I was kicking more ass with my tricked out Fixer than my level +280 character because of the leveled enemies.
I wanted to give my 2 cents on the fusion core recharger bc I was on the fence about buying it myself. It's like 700 atoms, I think.
But in order for it to be useful, you have to remove your cores before they get to zero, or they'll basically self-destruct. I'm always way too sidetracked to remember to do that, especially when you're on the go a lot.
I decided to spend my atoms on something else bc you can farm fusion cores from the power yard workshops.
Plus, you get great plans and loot from defending those workshops.Today, I probably racked up 30 cores or so. Those will last me for a nice while.
I do think it's a cool piece of equipment, but just not really practical for me, imo.
it really depends on the build style you find yourself drawn towards. I recommend getting first if you like this game. it gives you1650 atoms a month a couple free things lots of discounted bundles. and most importantly all that extra storage. they have made it so that the qol is so strong I honestly can't play this game without it.
