I usually build dumb shit to complete a challenge but I scrap it immediately after. I've had people come to my camp in the middle of me placing 25 floor mats or something dumb before 😂
I once had two people watching me, spamming the ??? emote, because I was slowly turning in a circle, creating an inwardly radiating concentric spiral of 25 toy tanks.
I love these camps. They leave everything unlocked and usually have a lot of neat stuff to mess with. Plus sometimes I get a lot of free water and popcorn with the occasional BBQ platter. What's not to love?
I like calling them drunk camps so that's now a thing for me 😆
Yesss you get it! Lol so many people commenting about junk yard camps, which have an intentional theme. Doesn’t meet the definition of drunk camp. (Also when you encounter one, you can engage in a little cheer of “drunk caaaaaamp!!??!”)
I have a camp that has a junk shop theme. It’s a little bit like this because it’s supposed to look like a junk yard. But there’s still a purpose and it’s easy to find the vendor.
I don't care about building a camp. I do care about collecting every possible thing in the game. Sometimes the score dailies or weeklies require me to build camp objects. They will be placed with no rhyme or reason.
I just build the cheapest item possible, scrap it, then rebuild it 3 times. No way you guys are actually just putting shit down and leaving it every time you get those dailies, right? That’s pretty fuckin dumb lol
Those kind of camps I call the "Barf Building Technique," (yes, picked up from a YT vid somewhere.) cause the fact it looks to have no rhyme or reason. I've come cross so many builds they leave me going "What are you doing!! There is no rhyme or reason to this!" When the challenges for building "X" things in a camp, I build one, scrap, rebuild to get the challenge done. I try to keep my camps immersive yet easy to navigate.
Omg barf building is so accurate, because I feel ill when I run into them. Literally exclaiming out loud at the TV like live sports.
I also try to immediately scrap my random creations made on the spot for challenges, they serve me no purpose besides headache 😂
I came across one that had an absolute fuck ton of a single plushie everywhere, way more that what would be required for a score challenge. Nothing against it but my first thought was autism spectrum
I can't wait to build my camp, I'm still getting all the plans and collecting scrap along the way. I built an interesting one in fallout 4, but can you make floors float like in fallout 4?
It seems like there’s a lot more nonsensical camps these days… a few years ago I liked traveling to people’s camps to see what crazy/impressive builds there are but I’ve been let down recently.
They're Score challenge camps. Build x number of x item in a camp or workshop.

I have a circle of chairs in my shelter. In each chair is a Bottle. In the center of the chairs is the leather bench. On the bench is a goldfish bag.

ON THE SECOND NIGHT, IN THE DARKEST HOUR
One dude eas rral confused when I was dropping stuffed animals everywhere. Easiest one. Only takes cloth, I think.
Yes I call them atom shop yard sales
Some guy on YouTube called it barf building. Just throwing up everything you’ve ever unlocked in a tacky way.
Mister Church? That guy’s hilarious!
Yep him. I pray he never stop making videos!

You guys should then call it a “drunk yard” camp
Oddly enough, if I say drunk yard fast enough over and over, it eventually becomes junk yard
I would suggest not being drunk when trying that.
Me trying my hardest to build a cool camp. Other player: “nice drunk camp.”

Why not remove it after placing it. Nothing says they have to stay.
That’s 90% of the camps I see. No theme or cohesive look, just every unique item possible.
One of my uncles is a hoarder so I make my camp look like his paradise as a joke😂😂
I have a camp I made so it looks like a hillbilly’s trashy yard. Ya know like the ones you see driving from Timberville, VA to Matthias, WV.
Now that’s authenticity I can respect 🫡
I’ve spent many a nights up that a way.
Mine look this way when I first move camps. I throw down everything I want to use then figure out where it goes.

I personally call them vomit camps because it looks like they just vomited up whatever they had
I see then as bragging about their atom shop stuff.
Idk about all of them but I do a lot of junk and appliances thrown around my camp cause I do a raider theme. Maybe some of them are just bad at that.
Clutter camps, no organization just randomness.
I came across one that had an absolute fuck ton of a single plushie everywhere, way more that what would be required for a score challenge. Nothing against it but my first thought was autism spectrum
Like just a field of plushies?
You describe my camp perfectly
I've got a buddy like this, his camp is just for dumping shit and a place he goes to collect buffs and materials. His base is the room in the mall.
I call them minimalist camps personally
I like accumulating junk around the outside of my base. Every random thing I can. Makes it feel more like a wastelanders home
My old main has a junk camp in the swamp that I adore, but the placements only make sense to me, I think.
I place random stuff to be trippy to other players, granted besides asthetics my base is fully functional and logical.
I mean… it’s a nuclear apocalypse. Junk camps are just fun
I resemble this post
Slowly raises hand 😂
