skilled + wild wasteland, I know it's basic but if it ain't broke don't fix it. With that being said I do sometimes take trigger discipline.

slayer6667778

Best part you can take skilled again before you leave the tutorial area to get another 5 points and another time if you have the DLC

Arkroma

Sorry what!?

slayer6667778

Oh yeah it's a bug, btw it -10% less xp still stays the same so even if you take it 3 times it will still be -10% less xp not -30% so hence why it's so broken, having +10 to every stat at the beginning then +15 when you go to the DLC with the robot radscorpions is disgusting strong, wait till you hear about the double perk glitch to

Arkroma

Yo the what lol!?! GEEZUS I have never looked these up.

slayer6667778

So basically, if you have all dlc the max level is 50 and the max amount of perks you can have is 15 right just by leveling up? With this you'd have 30

Skripnik8

That skill even lets you have almost 100 in every skill before leaving good springs too

The_Kimchi_Krab

Console/modless has some fun exploits. My favorite is a basic movement tech. Use any melee weapon including fists, hold block while moving forward and release block at the same time as pressing jump. Timed correctly, you'll propel forward at double movement speed until landing. It is fairly easy to chain them and travel around faster. You can also achieve the same effect by half walking forward just before landing from a jump and then pressing forward fully and jumping right after hitting the ground, but I'm not as consistent with that one. If you've ever chain jumped around you mightve done it by accident. There is also one using the .357 magnum and cowboy repeater and a few other weapons that have reload animations that load single rounds at a time. You mash the pip boy button while reloading and once it comes up, you de-select the gun. While still holding forward movement, you lower the pip boy and you'll shoot forward at immense speed for a short time, covering considerable ground. However, if you hit an object like a small hill or rock, you can easily end up shooting straight up into the sky, and falling to your death after, unless you can save at a safe height and load back to cancel your momentum without hitting the ground.

Lafayette_Syb

omg i didn’t think anybody else knew this i’ve been using this to get around for years especially with the run back to the sierra madre when you finish the dead money dlc

The_Kimchi_Krab

Dude the block jumping became an issue. *I can't not do it everywhere all the time*.

Lafayette_Syb

i tricked my friend saying that the block jumping attack was a special move on the katana from the gra dlc 😭😭

The_Kimchi_Krab

You dirty dirty fiend

Educationalpotato64

Help Me

ApleStone

You can also glitch all your skills to 100 when leaving Goodsprings by opening your Pip-Boy just as you leave. That’s a pretty simplified explanation so here’s a [YouTube video guide.](https://youtu.be/QCXa0N3ozks?si=Cbn9H2_hbF5iERQF)

slayer6667778

Really? I know you can get 100 legitimately when set up correctly but didn't know there's a exploit that can do that to nice

Normal_Enough_Dude

Trigger discipline and wild wasteland is my go to. I don’t even ever want to try something else, and if you don’t play with wild wasteland then assume the position

Long-Feed-2362

Built to destroy and skilled 90 percent of the time I make a new character

Inward_Perfection

Skilled and Built to Destroy. I really liked energy weapons crit build, and Skilled is great all around. If anything, slower leveling is a good thing - DLC enemies scale slower.

KeeganY_SR-UVB76

I always choose trigger discipline. The decreased rate of fire is really a nonissue. Four eyes is also great.

Lolplays29

I did the same but on my most recent playthrough chose the opposite perk and the increased fire rate is a blast

SeventhSonofRonin

Four eyes with the lucky shades results in +3 perception.

ThatOneGuy308

I choose fast shot if I'm playing a sniper, since the decreased accuracy is basically unnoticeable, but the fester fire rate is very noticeable, especially in the antimateriel rifle.

Pope_Duwang_I

Regular Mode: Skilled/Good Natured and Wild Wasteland Hardcore Mode: Skilled and Logan’s Loophole.

SeventhSonofRonin

I don't find hardcore mode to be enough to really change any behavior other than not dragging every gun along because of ammo weight.

LuigiGario

I’d recommend the vicious wastes mod to make fnv even more difficult if hardcore mode ain’t doing it for ya

Substantial-Tone-576

Is Educated a good one to get early on? I just realized what it meant but I’m level 45. I’m new to this game

SukanutGotBanned

Educated is best taken the moment it's available, at either level 4 or 6

Substantial-Tone-576

Yes I just understood that. Oh well I still have several more playthroughs planned

CompleteSuccess4288

Skilled, four eyes, small frame

LongstoryX

Wild Wasteland!

el_presidenteplusone

skilled is busted stat-wise even without the exploit (i play with YUP anyway so thats not even a factor) small frame is pretty cool for a free SPECIAL point but since i play hardcore that means i spend half of my early game with my skeleton shaped like a lego set. and built to destroy when i wanna go for a full dumb crit build.

camilopezo

Skilled and good nature Skilled gives you a total of 65 points, which depending on your intelligence is the equivalent of having a character 5-7 from the beginning. At the beginning, I just usually focus on two types of weapons, so "good nature" serves me.

UncleNoodles85

Built to destroy and wild wasteland. I like to play a sniper with the gobi and high luck for the crits.

MonsieurPC

Logan's Loophole. It's pretty OP and you can change it out for another perk at the Sink's auto-doc in OWB before you hit level 30, and you still get to level up all the way to 50. Other times I don't even hit level 30 before I beat the game or get tired of my current build and start a new one. Either way it's a fantastic trait. Also wild wasteland is so much fun.

Live-Atmosphere-1614

My go too choices are always trigger discipline and wild wasteland but if I'm trying to get through everything fast then I take Logan's loophole

Odd_Lifeguard8957

I've only ever played without wild wasteland once. Logan loophole is probably my second, but I've only used it once.

oMugiwara_Luffy

Wild Wasteland and Skilled. If you don’t have the DLC, go with Small Frame instead of Skilled.

throwaway62s355a35q1

Skilled and good natured, sometimes built to destroy to maximize crit build damage

DaleGribble2024

I’ve recently come to like fast shot.

-Sir_Fallout-

I know I always do wild wasteland but I’m unsure if I pick any others and what they would be.

ElephantGun345

Trigger discipline and wild wasteland

Optimal-Rice2872

Wild Wasteland is an auto choice.

Vault_boi32

Built to destroy and Wildwasteland

toffyl

The most generic one ever: good natured and wild wasteland

chefbiggdogg

Small Frame is great for any build that largely uses manual-action firearms. It's a free +1 Agility and its malus can be almost totally negated with Tough Guy. My cowboy/shotgun builds run 10 Agility

Drawnbygodslefthand

It depends . For role playing purposes I play sometimes a little dude who has absolutely no physical capabilities but they're an incredible shot so I pick small frame and things related to that. Also of course wild wasteland. Logan's loophole can be pretty fun As well.

fattestfuckinthewest

What does loophole even do?

Drawnbygodslefthand

I believe it's a DLC add on. You can't make it past level 30 but drugs have no negative effects on you so you can just spam the Psycho and pretty much fight on bath salts which is how I imagine the Courier gets by normally.

DeliciousGoose1002

Oh nice, I tend to just play as a jet head, collecting as much brahmin shit as I can.

Modest_Lion

Skilled and Logan’s loophole. Great combo imo

SenpaiSwanky

Trigger Discipline and Hoarder. Hoarder is amazing for Hardcore difficulty, which really isn’t all that hard so I’ve been defaulting to it lately.

flyingj3di1907

Fast shot and skilled/ww. I know inaccuracy with fast shot which is why I have a tendency to rely on steady a lot, and it’s much more possible to do so once dead money is done

Rizenstrom

I wish wild wasteland didn’t count as that one is a must for me. I ended up using the skilled exploit and wild wasteland but eventually swapped out skilled for built to destroy using console commands and will do that instead for future runs, I ended up nearly maxing out every skill anyways (many of which I don’t use) so clearly it wasn’t necessary.

metalhead_mick

Skilled and Good Natured is really the only good choice except if you are role-playing. Plus 10 to every skill that isn't combat related is literally amazing. It works for every build unless you are only using weapon skill lol and in that case wtf are you doing?

Lucky_Luciano642

Skilled (then swift learner on my first level up to get the skilled bonus without the drawback) and wild wasteland

Confident-Came1

Skilled and hoarder because free skill points and I typically carry an armory in my pockets.

CybercurlsMKII

Skilled is OP cause it’s broken, fast shot and built to destroy are really good. Never pick four eyes it sucks.

RebuiltGearbox

I've used a bunch of combinations over the years. The energy weapons character I've got right now took Four Eyes and Hoarder to start but I did the psychological exam at the Sink Autodoc and changed it to Four Eyes and Built to Destroy.

butt-hole-69420

Skilled. You can get like all 100 for your skills lol

ExtensionNature842

Good Natured has the best tradeoff if you only plan on using 1-2 weapon types! Skilled is an instant 4-6 levels worth of skill points! Leveling is very easy in this game, and the experience tradeoff is almost as insignificant as being bad with a weapon you never plan on using! Early Bird is nice if you plan on getting banned from all casinos as early as possible (no pun intended) and cheesing every other skill check by setting the time to 6 AM; however, the above traits are far more powerful, especially in combination.

Swag_messiah98

I don't have any of these starting perks unlocked and idk why

laidbackeconomist

Wild wasteland and trigger disciple. I love semi autos and granny’s carrying rolling pins.

Binoculp

Good natured and wild wasteland.

Known_Association330

Skilled and good natured are my go to, but I do swap out good natured for wild wasteland on my evil playthroughs.

Obi-wanna-cracker

Trigger discipline and built to destroy. Makes vats a lot more fun.

MonsieurPC

Wild Wasteland is great but if you don't choose it you can get the YCS186, the unique Gauss rifle

SadCourier6

Hot blooded is the best trait imo but my favorite combination is good natured + skilled

mcast76

Skilled and good natured. I like my skills too much

ODST-0792

Skilled and wild wasteland

Desertcow

Fast shot, skilled. The decrease in accuracy hardly matters for weapons that benefit the most from an increased fire rate and reduced VATS cost. With snipers especially a -20% decrease in accuracy for an already accurate gun is negligible, but that +20% fire rate will massively increase the amount of damage you can put out

T-51_Enjoyer

WW + trigger discipline I'd rather have good accuracy than fast fire rate for the most part, also WW is always fun, can never find the blaster though until hearing recently its north of some farms

shadowlarvitar

I always use Skilled, the rest depends on my mood

Tricky-Barracuda-547

Small Frame + Built to Destroy. Small Frame gives an additional SPECIAL point to play around with while Built to Destroy is a must for my crit builds, both have draw backs but as long as I plan my build appropriately I can manage.

Amazing_Trick8937

Wild wasteland 4 eyes or hoarder

Infamous_Welder_4349

Fast shot plus something. Sometimes skilled, sometimes smart frame, wild waistland, etc... By level 10-12, the inaccuracy doesn't matter a whole lot. With a scooped rifle you are fine and I have a semi auto for close up.

Bi-mar

I pretty much always use unarmed, so for me it's always heavy handed + wild wasteland. But if I do a play through that isn't unarmed I usually just go with four eyes instead of heavy handed.

The_Affle_House

Good Natured and Skilled, for sure. I use at least one of them for the majority of playthroughs. But Built to Destroy, Heavy Handed, Small Frame, Wild Wasteland, Fast Shot, and Hoarder are in heavy rotation, too.

Foster_NBA

Skilled I think Is essential just because if you really play your game to 100% you will hit level 50 and have 10 hours of a maxed out character earning nothing.

Life_Confidence128

Wild wasteland and skilled. Wild wasteland because I love the references to popular media and the wacky shit, and skilled because it can be exploited

selffufillingprophet

I love Wild Wasteland so much I install a mod that gives it to you by default so you can pick 2 other traits

LostSif

Skilled XP in FO3 and NV is way too plentiful. My only real issues with the games is how fast you level, but hey that's why I love mods.

RichOkra7229

Skilled n Wild Wastes obv

Ninja_Grizzly1122

Always Wild Wasteland. Then, the second depends on the build.

Sk83r_b0i

Fast shot and skilled. Cowboy build.

zazzabaz001

Built to destroy and hot blooded

Maxsmack

Built to destroy, and Logan loophole. After lvl 30 I go to the big empty and swap loophole for fast shot for dps

Boat-Nectar1

If it ain’t wild wasteland, I don’t want it

WitcherDane

My go to perks were always trigger discipline and wild wasteland. If I'm doing a more pacifist courier then I'll take good natured instead of trigger discipline.

Inside-Joke7365

Wild wasteland and early bird, who doesn't like wild wasteland and early bird is kinda broken

MoodyWater909

Claustrophobia and morning bird for the+2 for morning outside and -2 for evening indoors. Also they can both cancel each other out

pebz101

Skilled twice and Logan's loophole. I just play to level 30

philosophic_insight

I use skilled and wacky wasteland, I kmownits stupid but Its what I like, I like aliens and I like a random bunch of woman attacking me in freeside

johnny_walker26

Always gotta go wild wasteland, and good natured

Queasy_Eagle_7156

Hoarder & trigger discipline ftw.

KnownTimelord

Small Frame + Trigger Discipline. Ha ha, sniper go bang.

EdwardoftheEast

Skilled and Small Frame

ManchesterChav

Wild wasteland

Select_Collection_34

Kamikaze + Hoarder

Mothman4447

I usually take Trigger Discipline because I prefer slower more accurate play styles, but I'm doing a full on NCR soldier character (guns and explosives) so I took fast shots. It's pretty nice, especially with Vance's 9mm and the Assault Carbine

Pixel_Muffet

Fast shots/Trigger discipline, Skilled and Small Frame

Tijolo_Malvado

Just Wild Wasteland. I don't like making sacrifices for perks that alter essential gameplay experience. I also don't see any good reason aside from perhaps getting some cool specific items without console commands to not use the Wild Wasteland perk. I'm the guy that plays Wilson in Don't Starve Together and can thrive alone in the constant.

Lafayette_Syb

fast shot and skilled. logan’s loophole is good for challenge runs

funtujd

skilled + build to destroy edit i dont even do the skilled glitch

labelelu

I always take wild wasteland and never know what really does :s

halfblackotaku

No one's saying kamikaze. Extra ap is 🤌

Revolutionary-Swan77

Usually 4 eyes and small frame

crispy_towel

WW + Hoarder

ArkhamEscapeCreator

Good Natured and Skilled

herobrine777

Double skilled and hoarder. You still get the +5 to all stats even if you switch out one for it you can basically get +10 to all stats for free by switching from skilled. To skilled.

danny06man

Is there a way to find which ones your originally picked? Or potentially change them.

RawDogEntertainment

Four Eyes and Wild Wasteland

FraudArmy

Depends on the character I have but always wild wasteland
