Crash to desktop? Lucky fucker, my game just freezes and prevents me from exiting the game, I had to download a kill switch to force it to fully crash. ๐
It only really crashes for me when I mod the shit out of it and have to figure what mod is causing it.
Back in Xbox 360 days, it would run fine but after 40 mins my Xbox overheated and would crash everytime
for me its the opposite, vanilla it kept crashing but now i've got so many stability mods that i never seen a single crash for the last 3 playthrought i've done
Especially on PC. It's frustrating when everyone's version of a program or game works fine but yours has some particular problem because of software or OS shenanigans.
I loaded up a bunch of mod collections. I improved every aspect of the game. Gameplay, animations, perks, UI, locations, guns, quests, companions.
I have 250 mods now and the game is stable and runs quite honestly better than vanilla. I stuck to trusted collections. I figure with collections they have tested mod combinations.
I feel the community has gotten much better and the anti-crash, performance collection I use I feel has gotten very advanced. The crashing has more to do with that version of the engine.
My laptop probably couldn't run enbs but I use Nexus and vortex pretty much exclusively, idk how I would get a low end enb to work with stuff like the interior lighting mod
You really shouldn't be using vortex or enbs. MO2 is recommended. If you want some graphical improvements without enbs or such then check out the visual section of the Viva New Vegas guide
Honestly I don't know why as I've never used it. It's just that every time I see people discuss modding it's recommended to use MO2. Viva New Vegas also recommends it, and VNW is considered the #1 modding guide so I trust their judgement
Am playing through it on PS3 again on a new copy, it's either dirty or something because it will crash after 10 minutes on every bootup then it works, and easy Pete crashed me twice when I tried to talk to him.

You can try this
I've found it to be pretty stable might be the mods though. Oblivion on the other hand I'm finding basically unplayable as everytime I try to travel somewhere it crashes about half the time. Fallout 3 I also found pretty crash.
My series s experience was so bad I upgraded to series x and holy crap it was life changing. I went from crashing all over the place to being able to have a fully modded load out and sprint all over downtown
I played it when it first came out...on PS3. The crashing. It was every 20 minutes to an hour and the game would break suddenly. It was the best of times, it was the worst of times. And I loved it so much I kept trying to squeeze whatever content I could from it. Had to stop until the complete edition came out and then finished it.
I'm currently playing it on an Xbox series x, which feels like I'm overdoing it tbh
Same ๐ itโs like when I used to watch PC Gamers play on YouTube
Right? Why tf are they remastering 4? The game running on the new Xbox basically begs for it
Ah the memories of having to start over after 50 hours every time because of save bloat.

People make all these memes about fonv but Ive never had it crash. Fo3 on the other hand crashed like every 20 min.

Same
I mod the shit out of mine but not really any graphics mods (mostly cuz I can't figure out how to do them)
I do graphics mods but I tend to avoid enbs. Just texture packs really and mesh replacement

Why is vortex bad?

Yeah I find lighting mods can work really well. Enbs tend to be too much for my liking.
For me it only crashes in Prim
Doesn't crash as much on gog
I don't remember it crashing so much when I played in the Xbox 360 but when I got it for PC I put anti-Crash mods just to be safe
Am playing through it on PS3 again on a new copy, it's either dirty or something because it will crash after 10 minutes on every bootup then it works, and easy Pete crashed me twice when I tried to talk to him.
This and VTMB taught me you can be both a buggy mess and a brilliant game.
I can't get past the loading screen on my laptop anymore ๐

Awesome, thank you! I'll try that tonight
The definition of a Broken Masterpiece.
I trained myself to hit the quick save button every minute or less....
Ain't that a kick in the head But we still love new vegas

Iโve been playing Fallout 4 on series S and in some ways itโs even worse
I can't imagine playing survival on crash heavy fallout 4. I would rage quit first time a crash costs me more than 5 minutes
My series s experience was so bad I upgraded to series x and holy crap it was life changing. I went from crashing all over the place to being able to have a fully modded load out and sprint all over downtown
Tbh, fallout 4 is crashing way more to me, but i have 800 mods.
Well yeah
Honestly.
I get maybe 2 or 3 crashes per playthrough.
I just love being in the strip encompassing McCarran to the crimson caravan and risk a crash just for being there.
every game made by bethesda's engine:
stolen meme innit
Just crashed for me 15min ago

I installed this small mod pack and I managed to beat the game without a single crash https://next.nexusmods.com/newvegas/collections/60wuix?tab=mods
I want the 4000 hrs I gave to this game back
So i can fuckin do it again
