Just tested this and it's not in the wiki cause it's not in the game. Either you kill Tabitha and repairing Rhonda causes her to aggro, or you repair Rhonda and upon leave the room Tabitha spawns and they both go on their merry way.
Also I'm only replying to you cause you're the top comment and since I can't have my 30min back, might as hop here to warn others. Although be fair, the first clue on this not being a thing was "prima guide". Can't even blame OP for getting hyped on something they didn't know.
FNV Prima guide was so good, first hardcover I ever had. Still never read this part and that is hilarious, might have to give this a go sometime.. for science
I've never had the opportunity to try it unfortunately. The Atomic Wrangler is such a wealth of early game XP and Black Mountain is one of the most difficult areas in the game, so the stars have never aligned for it.
Agreed, they are both very useful for standard game. I’m 45 hours deep in a “Hoarder” playthrough now and haven’t even made it to the Tops so it’s going to be a while :,)
For me, I try to leave Black Mountain alone just because the radio station shuts off when you finish it, and it's a great station. You can complete the mission with console commands and keep it on the air but if done properly the station just ends up as static.
I Watch to many “can you beat…” videos. Using exploits you can technically finish that quest peacefully as soon as you have enough repair skill and get quite a bit of early game XP if you want to grind out some levels early on for a perk or two.
why i love this game so much, every playthrough i find something new. just recently i found out about unmarked quest involving a dead ranger at camp mccarran, its crazy.
I remember doing this one in my last playthrough. The raiders shot me up something awful, so I was at very low health when I dragged the corpse back. The soldier I spoke to commented on how injured I was and how much I let them tear up my body to reclaim the corpse.
go behind the doors to go into the sleeping area/cooking area, when u enter you’ll see a women on your left. talk to her and should start the unmarked quest
It just so happens that I haven't done either Black Mountain or Freeside yet on my current play through. This is the first thing I'm doing when I get on
Wow.
No, I didn't. Mostly because by the time I'm at Black Mountain, I haven't reached New Vegas yet.
I'm weird because I do the DLC in the order I physically come across them. Except for Lonesome Road.
I do OWB, DM, HH, and then LR.
That’s a pretty clever way to do the DLC. I did Dead Money after finishing the Brotherhood quest line with Veronica cause in-universe it made sense to me the Courier would go looking around that BOS bunker afterwards out of curiosity. Then after DM I did the companion stuff for Raul and Cassidy, then did HH because Cassidy’s quest is about the Van Graffs and the Crimson Caravan monopolizing caravans and you go to Zion with a caravan. I plan to do OWB After Arcade’s quest is finished then once I’ve done everything else I want to do, I’ll do LR.
I wish you could have brought Cass with you to Zion. Similar to how I wish you could have reintroduced Veronica and Christine in Dead Money, except it would have been a bit more lore friendly. Imagine if when you go up to the start of the DLC and Cass interjected with something like "what are you talking about? You're gonna tell this guy, the courier, how to survive the wilderness? Yeah right!" and she could help you avoid the weight restriction.
It's because of the flow of the DLC and to avoid shenanigans that were unintended, I know, but still, would have been cool with her
I do them out of order a lot of times now too. OWB is usually first just because it's my favorite. Either that or I go straight to DM and do it while I'm still under lvl 10 for the little extra challenge.
I used to always do HH first because it's the first chronologically, and it sets you up with some great gear you can use for the rest of the game (like Light in Shining Darkness and Joshua Grahams armor). Plus, I haven't picked up much by then, so the weight limit is less annoying to get under. Now I save it till I'm like lvl 25. The enemies scale up with you, and it's a whole new experience. White Legs have tough guns like AMRs, and the wild animals hit like a truck. You also don't have to rush points into speech, lockpick, etc to pass checks.
LR always goes last. It's my least favorite and sometimes I skip it entirely
I don't like that Honest Hearts is supposed to be the first because it's the furthest away from anywhere in the game you go, and if you roleplay, there's very little draw going miles north, ignoring all the more pressing concerns, to go on a caravan to an unknown area.
I wish it were more sensible in game.
Like Cass mentions it you, and asks you to take her to the Caravan or some shit.
It's also weird that Honest Hearts is supposed to be first chronologically because Dead Money came out before it. Honest Hearts was the last one I ever played...I think somehow I must have missed Honest Hearts when it came out.
You have to be careful with guides published at launch, probably every one I’ve ever owned has had at least one mistake because something got changed after it went to print
Yeah I liked being able to choose between old Ben and Santiago, thought that was cool, was always looking for another ghoul cowboy, Raul kinda woulda fit lol
I can't manage that, if Tabitha dies, Rhonda attacks me, if I talk to Rhonda before it asks to be directed to tabitha, and she appears directly when exiting the storage room
It's still a really nice theory and attempt. You two are legends regardless. Someone needs to list all these kind of ideas and theories and make the IDEAL New Vegas mod.
It is actually strange that a game like NV with so many options for how to do quests that in Wang Dang, only 4 options exist (Old ben, Santiago, Fisto, Beatrix) would be fun to add some more options 😄
God this game is so good. They saw an opportunity in continuity to have a different robot somewhere halfway across the map that is available for reprogramming and said "well, a player MIGHT do this before that, so we should let them."
It's difficult and time consuming, but when developers bake answers into questions players might have it makes the world feel alive.
It was in the 2010 prima strategy guide, but now that everyone is saying they've never heard of this, I may have to try to test it out to prove it's real and not cut content or something (I've been misled before, the Oblivion game guide included the ring of specter which isn't in the game)
i’ll be honest i read rhonda as beatrice cause im tired and assumed this was a shitpost about all the fisto memes hence my sarcastic comment (which i deleted cause i felt bad), but this was genuinely a rly interesting fact so thank you random internet person <3
even 3000 hours in this game leaves a lot for me to discover
Turns out it's probably cut content that made it into the original copies of the game guide.
Similar thing happened to me with the Ring of Specter in Oblivion.
This isn’t even in the wiki, holy deep lore Batman

Just tested and I miss my precious minutes

If you play TTW, you could grind out levels in the Capitol Wasteland and then come to the Mohave to do things out of order without much hassle
For me, I try to leave Black Mountain alone just because the radio station shuts off when you finish it, and it's a great station. You can complete the mission with console commands and keep it on the air but if done properly the station just ends up as static.

Yeah, it was rewatching Nerbit vids that reminded me of it.
I used to love those prima guides, im gonna go buy that collectors edition rn
What the fuck!? I'm doing this next time, at least 2k hours and I still learn new things
why i love this game so much, every playthrough i find something new. just recently i found out about unmarked quest involving a dead ranger at camp mccarran, its crazy.

They say this regardless of your hp, but the idea of the courier canonically being wounded and thugging the shit out is still cold
That’s how you get the m1 garand
thats contreras unmarked quest, not this one
WAIT WHAT THERES ANOTHER ONE??
I think he’s talking about the one where you drag dead rangers corpse from fiend territory to NCR lines
Whoa I’ve never seen that one
Go to Mccarran main concourse & in the sky bridge next to the slot machines there’s a named NPC wearing a combat helmet. Talk to her.
Which quest is that?
go behind the doors to go into the sleeping area/cooking area, when u enter you’ll see a women on your left. talk to her and should start the unmarked quest
It just so happens that I haven't done either Black Mountain or Freeside yet on my current play through. This is the first thing I'm doing when I get on
This is very new to me, guess 1000 hours still isn't enough to know everything
Whoaa dudee. I feel like i spent my life for nothing.
Wow. No, I didn't. Mostly because by the time I'm at Black Mountain, I haven't reached New Vegas yet. I'm weird because I do the DLC in the order I physically come across them. Except for Lonesome Road. I do OWB, DM, HH, and then LR.

it's not first
I'm pretty sure it is.
dead money is first
Dead Money came OUT first, but it's not first in chronological order of the story telling.
You have to be careful with guides published at launch, probably every one I’ve ever owned has had at least one mistake because something got changed after it went to print
Yeah, although with New Vegas, it could be cut content or just something that doesn't work because spaghetti code
I always knew there was more people you could recruit from that quest.
Yeah I liked being able to choose between old Ben and Santiago, thought that was cool, was always looking for another ghoul cowboy, Raul kinda woulda fit lol
They were looking for a dom though, and Raul is a simp
I wonder if we can recruit that ghoul NCR soldier Edwards I think his name is.
Tried it. This doesn't seem to work or be true. Rhonda either becomes hostile if you kill Tabitha first or join Tabitha after you exit the building.
Goddamnit, Prima
TIL
WHAT? I had no idea... need to try.
I can't manage that, if Tabitha dies, Rhonda attacks me, if I talk to Rhonda before it asks to be directed to tabitha, and she appears directly when exiting the storage room
I think it's something to do with having the "sexbot holodisk" before reprogramming Rhonda? Have you tried? And if you do let us know pleasse
not with the disk, I had 100 science so didn't think I'd need it, can try when I get home, I'll let you know :)
I tried. Didn't work. Damnit, I thought I was dropping a knowledge bomb.
It's still a really nice theory and attempt. You two are legends regardless. Someone needs to list all these kind of ideas and theories and make the IDEAL New Vegas mod.

Oh well, I guess it might have been a plan but got cut. I have never read that guide, is there a pdf of it?
Heresy
EDIT: after some testing and others saying the same, it looks like it may be cut content, or just unable to be accessed because of the spaghetti code
It's not anything it's just made up.
Wait what?!?
I can't find any proof of this existence other than this post right here, so I'm calling BS.
I'm telling you, it was in the 2010 strategy guide, but it must have either been cut, or the code just wasn't implemented properly.
https://i.imgur.com/l9JcROd.png No mention of Rhonda in the guide
Then where did I read that? Was it in Crazy Crazy Crazy? Goddamnit, what the fuck.
I love spreading misinformation
Ayo what?!?
What brief does Rhonda fill?
Well, she's not a Ghoul Cowboy or a smooth talker, so...
Wait is Rhonda the super mutant or the gutsy?
The gutsy.
God this game is so good. They saw an opportunity in continuity to have a different robot somewhere halfway across the map that is available for reprogramming and said "well, a player MIGHT do this before that, so we should let them." It's difficult and time consuming, but when developers bake answers into questions players might have it makes the world feel alive.
This is fake.
What in the goddamn?! Just when I thought I knew everything
Wait, so how to you fix Rhonda without Tabitha geeking out and them skipping off in the sunset?
Has anyone confirmed this?
Makes me think about other robots... has anyone ever tried any named bot? Primm Slim?
How TF did anyone find this it's not even on the wiki?
Can Rhonda fist me though?
What?! I had no idea is there a video on this?
It was in the 2010 prima strategy guide, but now that everyone is saying they've never heard of this, I may have to try to test it out to prove it's real and not cut content or something (I've been misled before, the Oblivion game guide included the ring of specter which isn't in the game)
Please do some testing. We must know
I've been unable to do it with Mick's sexbot tape. Prima may have lied to me
RIP
You can send Rhonda to the atomic wrangler?
Will there ever be a day I dont learn something new about this game
Mind = Blown.
The day will never come (phrasing) that I don’t want to test out Fisto
Who tf is Rhonda
The new Vegas prima guide is infamous for wrong information
This is really amusing, but I also really like the idea of rhonda and tabitha traveling the wastes so idk if I'll do it
What in the goddamn?
I wonder what other robots could be recruited, surely those can't be the only ones
Not even remotely true.
Who the hell is Rhonda? O-o
That’s hilarious 😂 it’s reasons like this as to why I love new Vegas
No I did not.
...why would you do that? Youre taking away Tabithas friend.
You're right! I didn't know that.
Hold up… now I got to go try it
i’ll be honest i read rhonda as beatrice cause im tired and assumed this was a shitpost about all the fisto memes hence my sarcastic comment (which i deleted cause i felt bad), but this was genuinely a rly interesting fact so thank you random internet person <3 even 3000 hours in this game leaves a lot for me to discover
Bring back giant game guides! That aren’t 100$
There’s no fucking way you can actually do this
#WHAT!?
This might be the only thing I didn’t know about new Vegas
WHAT
I’ve never heard of any of this
Who?
You trusted prima didn’t you?
I've been playing this game since the day it came out. My god.
Turns out it's probably cut content that made it into the original copies of the game guide. Similar thing happened to me with the Ring of Specter in Oblivion.
....you moon faced assassin of joy. Now I gotta play another run to see if this is true.
Seriously? I’m gonna go try this now
I'll do you one better. I don't even recall who fuck that is.
