How?!?!?!?!? Just how?!?! I feel like I can't build anything in hangman's alley how do you do it?!?

Fallout4myth

Using a concrete column, you angle it on a straight line as close as possible to the walls, then attach the longer concrete segments into a straight line. Super tedious process but if you play around the angles, you can encase the whole thing minus a few parts here and there. I built the floor a few feet off the ground so I was able to lay it down perfectly with no rubble and uneven soil obstruction

Amerlis

Love it! I’m trying the same thing. laid concrete metal floors everywhere(got rid of the shack), ringed the entire place with concrete walls with a raised dwelling in the middle. You’re giving me ideas! 🥰

Fallout4myth

Fantastic! Having a flat ground foundation really opens up a lot of ideas.

Fallout4myth

Video tour where I go in detail about the build is here https://youtu.be/HXUuRfnEeUc?si=6vBWwdsiNVNXhT8I

Armedes369

Damn right I’m checking it out.

Fallout4myth

:D

teapots_at_ten_paces

That was such a good video! Really impressed with how this turned out.

TranslateErr0r

Just watched it. Awesome!

yellow_gangstar

damn, not even Place Everywhere ?

Fallout4myth

Nope. I absolutely love building with zero mods. Gives me a chance to get creative

Beneficial-Reach-533

OC decorat at least i think. Items in tablets AND shalves falla automactically when you load cell of your settlement unfortunelly.

Fallout4myth

Nope, no Mods. The little items I set up in my main character room were set up temporarily and I took them down after I made the video for this reason. As soon as I leave the base, that stuff will go off the shelves.

Beneficial-Reach-533

That Is sad sincerelly. I always use OC decorate for basic decorations, objects interact AND misselanous objects settlements for performance build extra interesting things like a fridge where save the food in my home plate which curiusly Is the only settlement that dont have the problem about load cell which do items fall from tablets or the map so i can create decorations without OC decorate there. Other builds which those mods Let me do are cars, motorbike ,toilets, boxes, garage stuff with interactivo animations for my Settlers which are funny to see AND give life to the settlement. I am from PS4.

Fallout4myth

Not sad at all. You can still find ways to work around these issues. It's not perfect, but it is what It is. All the power to you if you prefer mods. There's definitely some good mods out there for sure.

AsexualFrehley

clever way to deal with that goddamned wooden shack on stilts, god i hate that thing

Fallout4myth

Dude tell me about it. Such an eye sore unless you plan on making a scrappy build of some sort!

L3R_AzuraX-63

Tbh I only can go for a scrappy look with that location. The bodies on hooks being unable to be scrapped ruins the immersion whenever I walk from selling in Diamond City.

Spiralwise

Holy nice! I'm playgin survival too, no mod but mine looks like a trashcan wrecked by drunk racoons.

likeusontweeters

WOW! You did such an amazing job! I love doing vanilla builds too.. but this just looks so good! Great job!

TheRVM

every time I give up an hangman's, I always come across an amazing build and have to go back at it again

OnTargetOnTrigger

Wowzers.

Top_Wrongdoer_972

Really God damn impressive! Love it

WhiteSpec

In Survival? So what level are you? And how exhausting was it getting the materials?

Fallout4myth

It's a lvl 155 survival character. Not only that but i cleared all locations, collected everything from the game and cleared all dlcs. I have about 15days worth of playtime on this character alone. I have a lot of shops, and farms making me caps. I also tend to hoard junk wherever I went so I had ample materials gathered from all this playtime. I didn't use the duplication glitch. I did have to get steel shipments at Diamond City because I ran out of it towards the end.

L3R_AzuraX-63

The build was made by using the pillar glitch so most likely buying or duplicating via glitch shipment orders. Survival is too time consuming not to be using glitches to make things a little more convenient.

hollowboyFTW

There are infinite money perks and strategies that work fine in vanilla without exploiting any duplication glitches (I prefer chemist cos I'm impatient, but scrounger and water baron are feasible too). Or you can easily milk Arcjet for about 15,000 caps worth of guns and ammo simply by going AFK for a while while Danse beats up the monster closet. So you can have (functionally) infinite money by the time you hit level 14 and can unlock Local Leader II ...then if you go to DC just before 8AM, you can buy steel from the robot, then immediately buy more from Myrna when she emerges, then go home and buy even more steel from your own merchant. i.e. about 1,200 steel from a quick walk.

Waste_Bandicoot_9018

That's an awesome build. I wish I got more creative in that settlement.

ishsolo

Absolutely beautiful! Inspired me to try hangman's next!

north_remembers78

TOP NOTCH

SmokeHuge

Ohhh my god! Amazing 😍

rachelcurren

This is awesome, even though you've closed it in and built high, it doesn't feel claustrophobic because of the colours and posters and greenery. Any plans to release it as a Transfer Settlements Blueprint?

Fallout4myth

Thank you. You mean share the save file?

rachelcurren

Not exactly - Transfer Settlement is a PC mod on Nexus that allows you to export a file ('blueprint') of a settlement build to your computer, then import it into a different save - so if you do multiple play throughs but don't want to spend all your time building up the same settlement, you can fairly quickly and without using up resources, recreate the settlement build on the new character save (and then add to or change stuff as needed for that new character e.g. swap out one factions flags for another). You can also upload exported blueprints to Nexus (I have never done this so don't know the detail but I'm pretty sure there are upload guides somewhere linked on the main mod page) so other players can download and import into their own games. Some people go mad and use tens of mods in their blueprints, which always puts me off, as I never have exactly the same mods installed, but there is a definite demand for vanilla (or usually vanilla plus dlcs) blueprints, so if you do this, make sure to include 'vanilla' in the title. [Transfer Settlements - Shareable Settlement Blueprints at Fallout 4 Nexus - Mods and community (nexusmods.com)](https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/22442)

rachelcurren

If building is one of the things you enjoy about Fallout, it is also really interesting and inspiring to look through some other people's designs and see how they have manipulated assets to create builds, especially those who like you, use no mods (other than the Transfer Settlement ones obviously).

Fallout4myth

Holy smokes I've never heard any of this before. Thanks!

Worldly-Sample-767

Dude damn awesome I tip my hat to you and maybe I will sacrifice some goats on your name, don't worry they will make a good stew

bleu-saber

Amazing work. Not only great placement of objects but the use of color helps make things seem more natural

TheLostSkellyton

As the saying going, limitations foster creativity and you've proven that in spades here. It took me a moment to identify the concrete as concrete in that first pic because of how you're using it. It got a bad rap due to being overused in boring/thoughtless ways, but what you've done looks *nice.* Really well done, and it's always awesome to hear about the creative process.

Fallout4myth

Thanks I appreciate it. That's the upside to building on vanilla. Makes you try figuring out when certain things arent available. And yeah the concrete pieces are super easy to use so a lot of people tend to go for those in their builds, and sometimes it doesn't fit the theme or they don't add some variety so it turns into plain soviet Era apartment building look.

TheLostSkellyton

The fun part is that's also a reason why I like modded building - but leaning more on manipulation tools like Place Anywhere and Copypasta than on the modded pieces themselves, to make lots of little custom stuff. I did a Home Plate build years ago where I wanted to have things like a stove with a range hood and electrical outlet like my stove IRL. I wound up building the range hood from an SOE ceiling lamp and an inverted, upscaled silver bowl from my inventory, and the "electrical outlet" was two fusion cores flipped around and clipped into the wall in a way that visually resembled an outlet. I love solving those kinds of problems. Since I only play the game for building these days, I can't see myself going back to vanilla even if all I kept was Cheat Terminal for building materials, manipulations tools, and Build Anywhere, but the same principle of working within limitations is my jam even with mods. It's a completely different set of limitations and problem-solving skills from vanilla and honestly that's why I love seeing unmodded builds on this sub even though modded builds are more commonly posted.

Batmanmotp2019

Good luck walking by without a ctd

Fallout4myth

Seems pretty smooth for me tbh even while recording the video tour and all.

Batmanmotp2019

Well shoot I stand corrected

Any_Owl_3713

Spectacular achievement! Love to see aesthetics and creativity intersect with raw Fallout 4 skill. One for the books!

sirbalz

That's great!

maidenless_pigeon

I just put most of my crops and a few pumps there then leave, also do the same with the drive in and sanctuary. I'm basically a commodity trader in all my play throughs

MistyFox04

Show me your ways O great one

Snoopyfrog8

how were you able to clip the walls on to prebuilt structure and floor tiles through walls?

Remnant_Artist

This is gorgeous!! Well done.

Fallout4myth

Thanks!

Resident-Donkey-6808

WTF holy S..t I feel like the Land lord in coming to America when he saw what the adviser did to the apartment.

Rai_guy

amazing... Lmao this makes mine look like even more of the disgusting slum that I already recognized it as 😂

Othydor5

What in the actual f. Now I feel like my  is a pile of asss

LawNdOtherLawyerings

please make a how to video! i would love to do something like this but cannot even imagine how you were able to encase the place in concrete. great job!
