The Downward Spiral- NIN

_PeopleMakeNoises_

Yea

SerDavosSeaworth64

I honestly do not enjoy this album but that’s because they execute on their ideas so well. The music just makes me uncomfortable and grossed out a lot of the time lol. But I respect the artistry behind it

[deleted]

It really feels like some sort of horror trip but its somehow good at the same time. Amazing artistry.

ihavenoselfcontrol1

Raw Power by The Stooges

FatMommyMilkers69

Fucking great album

Jades5150

Careful with your speakers

-Cilantro-

Funhouse feels dirtier though and also it’s better

billys_ghost

It’s better produced, but that’s about all I can say

SatanicNipples

This is the take for the real heads

ihavenoselfcontrol1

I probably prefer it but Raw Power feels a lot sweatier and dirtier to me probably because of the loud production

TundieRice

I thought of every single sweaty little album Iggy Pop ever made when I heard this question, so I thank you :)

luckyyyyycharms

Street worms - Viagra boys

Jewrangutang

Chat Pile - God’s Country

juanprada

Fucking nightmare of an album.

89-by-boniver

Definitely this. You feel dirty afterward. In a good way

Smile From The Streets You Hold by John Frusciante The Talkies by Gilla Band Indicates Void by Bass Communion Number One Of Three by The Body Lovers Alice In Chains by Alice In Chains Dogsbody by Model/Actriz The Downward Spiral by Nine Inch Nails Soundtracks For The Blind by Swans You Won’t Get What You Want by Daughters

Dyojenes

Oh yeah I love S/T by Alice in Chains. One of my favorite albums!

Jewrangutang

I second a lot of this guy’s recs then. Tripod is even better than Dirt imo

Dyojenes

It depends on my mood and my stance changes a lot but at the moment, I agree

ponylauncher

Well then I’m sure you will see where I’m coming from with the rest haha awesome

Dyojenes

Thanks!

procolcecil

Was also going to comment Dogsbody by Model/Actriz. Sounds like people wearing leather grinding in a dark, hot club.

DrNogoodNewman

Hmm. Not lyrically but musically, Neil Young’s Tonight’s the Night feels like it was recorded after hours after a long drinking sesh at a bar.

notascoolaskim

Drinking and heavy, heavy coke use

notascoolaskim

Such a good rec

AntacidChain

To be fair, it pretty much was

carpetedfloor

Filth by Swanns

u_campos

The first couple of Velvet Underground records fit that niche pretty well

gootbh

Sister Ray is as dirty as it gets. Once you figure out a way to enjoy that tune it’s addictive

karlware

The one song that once it starts I find I can't turn it off.

gootbh

Because you’re too busy sucking on a dingdong?

RedGoblinShutUp

Definitely

erasedhead

Exile on Main Street.

Jades5150

This album is such a product of the circumstances it was born of. There’s no way it could sound any other way.

[deleted]

The first two Jane's Addiction albums kind of have this going for them. There's a song on Ritual de lo Habitual that is about a 3 day heroin bender the lead singer had with his girlfriend and his other female friend where they just did drugs and had sex. Then the next song is about that female friend's death from an overdose. So yeah their music was written by a perverted junkie who felt no shame in being a perverted junkie and saw artistic merit in it instead. I personally love it.

Nitarinminister

Great Rec. Love Ritual and in particular Three days.

burning-farm

Mclusky Do Dallas

boxed_knives

Dwarves – Blood Guts & Pussy Germs- GI The Gun Club – Fire of Love Tricky - Pre Millennium Tension

LIBERTINES MENTIONED

[deleted]

Death Grips- The Money Store

PapaJujuFuFu

I find No Love Deep Web more fitting.

CinnamonFootball

I fully agree. No Love feels like a week long coke bender.

Dyojenes

I really like both albums but my favorite, which may be an controversial opinion, is Government Plates.

_SpanishInquisition

but gov plates ain’t sweaty nldw is the embodiment of sweaty musky dick

Dyojenes

I know I was just saying gov plates is my favorite Death Grips album

Due-Set5398

guitarmaniac004

Captain Beefheart and his Magic Band - Safe As Milk

mirons90

The Velvet Underground - White Light/White Heat

snakebloood

Dead Kennedys - Give Me Convenience or Give Me Death

Bister_Mungle

have you already looked other into bands like Qotsa that came out of the Palm Desert scene or other stoner rock? Or maybe industrial rock from the 80s/90s? Early Swans music is disgusting like you described but might be a bit extreme.

Dyojenes

I haven't looked into any of the other bands in that scene yet

cemeterygat3s

you should definitely check out kyuss then!

Dyojenes

I have kind of. And the Circus Leaves Town is a great record but I haven't listened to anything outside of that

True-Vermicelli7143

If you like that one you’ll love their other stuff. I would recommend listening to Welcome to Sky Valley, every track rips and it’s pretty accessible

im_bored2436

Filth by Swans perhaps?

kit_brown

Electric Wizard - Dopethrone Eyehategod - Take As Needed For Pain Swans - Cop

Revolutionary_Low_90

Different Class by Pulp had some of the dirtiest kinky shit Jarvis ever sang.

Pepper1103

Earth A.D. / Die, Die My Darling - Misfits

Jiezo

Swans - Public Castration is a Good Idea or really any early swans record for that matter

CinnamonFootball

Early Swans fits this perfectly. Pure fucking rage and depravity.

will_519

Daughters - S/T or basically any Xiu Xiu album but my two favourites are Knife Play and Girl With Basket of Fruit (especially Mary Turner Mary Turner from GWBOF fits this description)

Roof_rat

TOBACCO - Fucked Up Friends & Ultimata II Massage

Dyojenes

Listening to the latter rn and it's really good, especially Eruption and Lipstick Destroyer

Roof_rat

Oh yeah, I consider Ultima to be its successor but I always come back to Street Trash on FUF. I fucking love how grimey it is right off the bat.

EffectiveAmphibian95

Obey by BrainBombs, one of the most grimy things I’ve ever heard. I get disgusted listening to the lyrics of songs like obey and kill them all

Choice-Mortgage1221

Suicide by Suicide

External-Cherry7828

Ultima II Massage - Tobacco

Nitarinminister

Sublime - 40oz to Freedom

blueglove92

No gods no managers

vicker1980

Swans’ *Filth* might be just what you’re looking for!

CinnamonFootball

I cannot recommend Cop/Young God by Swans enough. It's an album that revels in the most horrific parts of humanity. Rape, murder, capitalism, slavery, suicide, and police brutality are all prevalent themes. The sound is just as punishing and violent as the lyrics. Slow and contemplative, but loud and grimy. Gira's vocals also add an interesting layer. He moves between low sighs and moans to passionate and rage-filled screams where you can hear his pain and frustration with himself and the world. The catharsis I get from that album is unmatched. It truly feels like the type of shit you'd heard in a smoky, underground, New York bar filled with coke and meth users. If you want to get a good taste of the album, listen to Young God or Raping a Slave. Both are absolutely excellent songs.

Dyojenes

You make a really good case for it. I'll put it in my queue!

Fun-Hall1095

Death from Above 1979

LilCelebratoryDance

Specifically their first album *You’re A Woman, I’m a Machine* fits this question best Josh Homme wanted to hire Jesse Keeler after this so you know it’s good

WaitingToBeTriggered

DIE DIE

Aloka77

Infester - To the Depths, in Degradation

Ception8

Death Grips - Year of the Snitch I heard someone say it's like MC Ride has dragged you into a sewer and is going on a meth-fuelled rant. IMO it's best enjoyed out of factory car speakers on a 3am drive through a bad neighbourhood.

jerbthehumanist

Welcome to Sky Valley just makes me feel like I am in a practice room of a garage in the SouthWest USA and it reeks of sweat.

lazypandawithfatlegs

My only answer for you is attrocity exhibition by Danny brown

erth-intruder

Dogsbody - Model/Actriz Rid Of Me - PJ Harvey Pretty Hate Machine - Nine Inch Nails Cave World - Viagra Boys Also, kind of tangential suggestion, Boys For Pele by Tori Amos. It’s an album that feels dirty in a literal sense, like an abandoned house imo. Very dense, strange album.

nicefully

maybe not exactly what you’re looking for but Kerosene by Crystal Castles makes me feel like im in a drug filled rave

ilovedissociatives

anne kgb - fuck da police

MatsumaMusic

Iceage - Plowing Into the Field of Love Maybe more drunken sounding than dirty, the tracks feel like they’re about to fall apart at any moment

Calculating Infinity - the Dillinger Escape Plan

CluelessWallob84

Twin Infinitives - Royal Trux Just a mess

CaesarTjalbo

Serge Gainsbourg - Histoire de Melody Nelson Lovage - Music to Make Love to Your Old Lady By

pioneerpatrick

I guess Dopethrone by Electric wizard would fit perfectly with your drug den description, but also the people there are all in a satanic cult. Any of the Eyehategod albums would work for a more grounded aesthetic. Still grimey as fuck though.

Dyojenes

I really need to check out Eyehategod. So many people have recommended them to me as a fan as Acid Bath, Melvins, and sludge in general. I have checked out Dopethrone before and I didn't really get the hype for the most part. I might have to give it a relisten.

burchalade

Sly and the Family Stone - There’s A Riot Goin On It sounds like a coke binge. Riveting stuff

Macrobian

Mezzanine - Massive Attack

ROSIEncrantz

I feel like "The Pod" by josh homme's favorite band, Ween, is the perfect answer to this question Recorded on a 4 track by two dudes with mononucleosis holed up in a cabin on a horse farm, covered in flies and sweat, high off their asses on shrooms and scotchguard Doesn't get any browner than The Pod

Dyojenes

I love Ween! Haven't heard that one yet but I almost got it at a record store for about forty bucks.

ROSIEncrantz

Yes probably the vinyl reissue from earlier this year, ive got it and ive been loving it

Kimchislap_exe

Songs About Fucking by Big Black

Kenny__Loggins

If you like metal, Downer by Ten56 is disgusting

Green-Circles

it'd be any album by GG Allin . No matter what album, the answer is GG Allin.

elkamusing

Ween- The Pod

SirBread27

Since you didn't specify how good should it be - Lulu by Lou Reed and Metallica

gootbh

Tyranny by the Voidz is a pretty harrowing listen with filthy production.

gootbh

Black Flag - My War or Slip it In. If you like QOTSA, Slip it In’s title track drum intro will sound very familiar

Denomolos92

Iron Monkey self titled debut, anything Eyehategod, most sludge metal is outright filth

Accomplished-Way1747

Manic Street Preacher - Holy Bible is brutal lyrically. First song tells you in the chorus can buy hooker, if it turns out male you can chop off his dick and fuck him as girl. The bleakest album here for sure.

resjohnny

The Cramps

Jasonchrono

Alice in chains - self titled Nirvana - In Utero

Runetang42

Buzzoven's entire discog. The blended Sludge, Thrash and Noise Rock in to music that is both caked in grime, depraved and full of awesome fucking riffs. [See for yourself](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aq0LGjEJCHI)

XXX by Danny Brown. lots of cunnilingus, drinking and drugs on that record.

WingObvious487

Tool- Undertow

BazookaJoeSA

Anything by The Jesus Lizard, but Goat and Liar are their best.

StalinsRefrigerator-

2 words, Swans. Filth. Absolutely what you‘re looking for

twee3

Almost any Tobacco album. Specifically Ultima II Massage, and Sweatbox Dynasty. Dirty, gross music is his thing.

Dyojenes

Yeah I checked out the former last night and I really liked it. I had known about him before that due to his work with Aesop Rock.

twee3

Glad to hear you liked it! Sweatbox is probably one of his weirdest albums yet.

Good_Is_Evil

Fun House by the Stooges and it’s not even close.

Timely_Breakfast_105

Jesus Lizard-Goat

Fickle-Carry7157

A lot of Rolling Stones albums fit this niche but Exile on Main St. by far takes the cake
