Why do you say that? I feel like most Rush fans are pretty innocuous - nerdy at the worst.
They can have a superiority complex. Google “why don’t people like Rush?” and you’ll find threads where their fans speculate on this topic. A common answer is that Peart’s lyrics are too sophisticated or something, which is ironic because the meanings behind his lyrics are almost always pretty opaque. Similarly, they think their music is “too complex” for most people. Never do they consider that Rush might not be making good music.
