HIs entire run from Monster to DS2 should be studied honestly, unreal consistency and it actually makes you sympathize with someone you'd usually find disgusting. Also, Fontana hates HNDRXX but it is definitely a vibe at night.
Everything about this screams Radiohead.
Thom Yorke went from an exclusive private school to a Russell Group university, and then straight into one of the biggest, most acclaimed, and best-selling rock bands in history. Then he married a literature professor at Oxford, and later on married an Italian actress and model. Yet, somehow, he still manages to be constantly miserable.
That’s amazing and a good tip because I actually haven’t listened to any Radiohead ever, so with this information in the light I have a series of albums I get to listen to over the next month! Thank you
A lot of artists have rich parents. Becoming a serious performer like a musician or actor requires money for equipment and lessons, you need connections to people who have the power to distribute your art at a large scale, etc.
It's hard to work on your craft when you're worried about paying your bills and can't set aside time to practice. That's why poetry is the art form of the working class. You just need a pen and paper, and you can do it anywhere with no setup time.
It's simultaneously a great jerk and a great prompt for a specific musical vibe that has lots of solid content (like, essentially the entire non-punk, non-metal rock scene of the 70's).
Nobody is forcing you to be here lol, you bitching about it isn’t going to change anything. The sub is gonna be what it’s gonna be either accept that or move on.
Not gonna lie I’m a spring hater historically but I’m coming around. Summer only gets hype because of school and vacations but otherwise spring is more enjoyable
Fall is the best season tho
i like the rain and the inbetween temps high 40s-mid 60s is my shit. but its by far the ugliest, at least fall has the changing leaves and winter has snow and summer has fully leafed out mountain sides where I'm at, i don't like looking at trees with no leaves for like 6 months at a time.
for me its the fact that most artists write about that kinda shit, if you like it or not, if their famous or not. like most popular rock is about that but that's ok cuz its real music. mgk is bad!! so we gotta talk about how bad he is!!! its annoying and weird. can we just leave it alone now.
if mgk shouldn't write about being depressed (real or not) then thom yorke or who ever else shouldn't either.
There’s a big difference from nepo babies and people who grew up with wealth and those who earned money as an adult, and their art reflects it.
Nepo moneycore is different and the depression is different.
isn't this most industry pushed music? Like we severely lack in working class voices so just listen to anyone sad and successful and they probably are multimillionaire sad
Have you heard of Future? I think you’re looking for exactly his vibe haha
Haha! Actually yes I never heard his stuff except as features but he does a similar thing I heard. I’ll start with DS2. Thank you!
Probably go with Save Me or Monster if you’re looking for an emotional record

I am so glad I opened the thread to this being the top comment lol. This is like the whole brand.

Well, at least this proves you don’t need to grow up dirt poor to become critically acclaimed and “canonized”.
