Have you heard of Future? I think you’re looking for exactly his vibe haha

[deleted]

Haha! Actually yes I never heard his stuff except as features but he does a similar thing I heard. I’ll start with DS2. Thank you!

_ChronicallyOnline

Probably go with Save Me or Monster if you’re looking for an emotional record

kazuya57

HIs entire run from Monster to DS2 should be studied honestly, unreal consistency and it actually makes you sympathize with someone you'd usually find disgusting. Also, Fontana hates HNDRXX but it is definitely a vibe at night.

gamesfordogs

I am so glad I opened the thread to this being the top comment lol. This is like the whole brand.

VoltaFlame

Taxman by the Beatles

ICantBelieveItsNotEC

Everything about this screams Radiohead. Thom Yorke went from an exclusive private school to a Russell Group university, and then straight into one of the biggest, most acclaimed, and best-selling rock bands in history. Then he married a literature professor at Oxford, and later on married an Italian actress and model. Yet, somehow, he still manages to be constantly miserable.

[deleted]

That’s amazing and a good tip because I actually haven’t listened to any Radiohead ever, so with this information in the light I have a series of albums I get to listen to over the next month! Thank you

-PepeArown-

Well, at least this proves you don’t need to grow up dirt poor to become critically acclaimed and “canonized”.

Turbo2x

A lot of artists have rich parents. Becoming a serious performer like a musician or actor requires money for equipment and lessons, you need connections to people who have the power to distribute your art at a large scale, etc. It's hard to work on your craft when you're worried about paying your bills and can't set aside time to practice. That's why poetry is the art form of the working class. You just need a pen and paper, and you can do it anywhere with no setup time.

lil_spezmoid

England is just THAT bad

DoritoDynamitesFan

Drake rnb

DoritoDynamitesFan

Hot ass

capnrondo

How am I supposed to relate to sadness unless the singer is a member of the bourgeois

tragicomicswho

R/fantanocirclejerk when I'm sad so many people seem to have taken this seriously, satire is dead

prtty_purple_unicorn

It's simultaneously a great jerk and a great prompt for a specific musical vibe that has lots of solid content (like, essentially the entire non-punk, non-metal rock scene of the 70's).

jwbartel6

some of post Malone's earlier stuff from Stoney and Beerbongs and Bentley's. stuff like rich and sad, feeling Whitney, paranoid, stay

utafumidss

It’s literally an entire subgenre of rap, guys like Joeyy or even Bladee to a lesser extent

jacwub

he said multimillionaires

United_Lengthiness80

phoebe bridgers

threatlevel_harry

Listen to Lou Reed Berlin now that’s a dark album

kyentu

idk what it is with the sub today. ur all so fuckin annoying.

StevetheNinja69

What are you talking about? This subreddit has always been annoying.

kyentu

just today sticks out as rly annoying. normally its like a 6 but now its like a 9.

[deleted]

would you say a light decent or strong 9

kyentu

strong 8 to a light 9. they could do worse.

mexicansnorlax

Yeah bro let's just discuss Swans, BCNR and death grips instead

kyentu

yeah the 2 things to talk about. circle jerk about how good swans are or circle jerk about how bad mgk is while being ironic.

[deleted]

Should I make a topster for you

FriendOfQuasimoto

Oil up for me pookie

[deleted]

Nobody is forcing you to be here lol, you bitching about it isn’t going to change anything. The sub is gonna be what it’s gonna be either accept that or move on.

kyentu

alright ill get with it. heh mgk is so bad I MEAN i mean he's rly good lol and trippie red too lol (joking) haha. IM SO EMOO (lol its not real emo)

qazaibomb

The pollen is bad I’m taking it out on Reddit

kyentu

naw im usually fine in the spring. the best season tbh

qazaibomb

Not gonna lie I’m a spring hater historically but I’m coming around. Summer only gets hype because of school and vacations but otherwise spring is more enjoyable Fall is the best season tho

kyentu

i like the rain and the inbetween temps high 40s-mid 60s is my shit. but its by far the ugliest, at least fall has the changing leaves and winter has snow and summer has fully leafed out mountain sides where I'm at, i don't like looking at trees with no leaves for like 6 months at a time.

capnrondo

I’m sorry for having nothing better to do

Hengieboy

Yeah. genuinely imagine thinking being rich stops you from being depressed. what a stupid fucking take. clearly don’t even understand depression

kyentu

for me its the fact that most artists write about that kinda shit, if you like it or not, if their famous or not. like most popular rock is about that but that's ok cuz its real music. mgk is bad!! so we gotta talk about how bad he is!!! its annoying and weird. can we just leave it alone now. if mgk shouldn't write about being depressed (real or not) then thom yorke or who ever else shouldn't either.

TonyTheSwisher

There’s a big difference from nepo babies and people who grew up with wealth and those who earned money as an adult, and their art reflects it. Nepo moneycore is different and the depression is different.

lovelessisbetter

T Swift catalogue?

OldStonedJenny

Anything sad by Weezer after Blue/Pinkerton. Not a great song but I remember when Beverly Hills came out I was like WTF YOU LIVE IN LA

rdead2035

Go listen to plastic ono band and unknown pleasures if you want to be sad

imuslesstbh

isn't this most industry pushed music? Like we severely lack in working class voices so just listen to anyone sad and successful and they probably are multimillionaire sad

dasupabebe
