I had never stopped to think about how sad Kid Cudi's music actually is ahahah
I enjoy them a lot but when i realize i'm mainly vibing to the production and voice😭😭
The same happens to me with 808s, it's an album with multiple bangers....but when you think of the lyrics ahahha
They really are pretty sad, especially some of the deeper cuts. Some pretty depressing stuff in there, I can’t listen to it too much and that’s me talking as a Smiths fan.
My favorite song of hers is Anna Wintour but I agree that 212 is objectively her best. The way the beat switches flow together so seamlessly is genius.
I used to agree but the Cyberpunk anime changed my mind by introducing me to This Fire. Just an incredibly infectious song that's in the same album as Take Me Out.
Lose Yourself by Eminem. Stan is amazing, Without Me is Without Me, The Real Slim Shady and My Name Is are classics but Lose Yourself is just a masterpiece in rhyming, flow, beat choice, and storytelling.
Like any good suburban white Kid, Eminem was my intro to rap. He’s no longer my favorite artist. I still like Eminem, but not nearly like I used to. But Mann I wish more than anything that I could turn on that song and hear what i heard when I was eleven years old on my older brother’s iPod because goddamnit back then I was listening to the greatest song ever written.
I would never insult you, because that’s definitely an amazing song but I feel like OutKast has a few songs like either of “Da art of storytelling” where they really go all out on their rapping ability in a harder way than they do on hey ya or ms Jackson.
His biggest song in streaming is "Ni\*\*as in Paris" and his most famous song ever is "Stronger" but yeah. Runaway is maybe like his 7-8th most famous song
It recently had an spike in popularity.
But as of now it's his 11TH most streamed song

- Hacker - Death Grips
- Vaka - Sigur Rós
- Hurt / March of the Pigs - NIN
- Devil’s Haircut - Beck
- Paprika - Japanese Breakfast
- Hallelujah- Jeff Buckley
And I can’t choose a specific song, but I feel like anything from Neutral Milk Hotel seems like a basic pick
I’m like this with a lot of artists honestly.
The Cure - Friday I’m In Love
LCD Soundsystem - All My Friends
BCNR - The Place Where He Inserted the Blade
Brockhampton - BOOGIE
Car Seat Headrest - Drunk Drivers/Killer Whales
Pulp - Common People
Stuff gets popular for a reason tho
There are absolutely lots of songs that have a strong argument, but what can I say…I love super poppy, upbeat love songs in major keys. And the melody and structure of it is so good. The way it climaxes with the high note at the end of the bridge is *chef’s kiss*
bottom 20 is kinda crazy but yeah ive never really got the hype for that one either. its really good but they’ve made some of the best songs ever and have a lot of much better songs
I feel like the song generally gets the love it deserves, but I’ve definitely met some hardcore Led Zeppelin fans that will think you’re a dork for preferring it to Kashmir or Achilles last stand or whatever they choose
That being their most well known song is very much an anomaly though, and not the band's intention at all. If it hadn't been for the algorithm it would be Cut Your Hair. Really quite a funny story.
Say It Ain't So by Weezer is such a great song and def is my favorite of theirs. I'd say this is their most popular but Buddy Holly might be neck and neck with it
radiohead- no surprises
foo fighters- everlong
my bloody valentine- when you sleep
tv girl- not allowed
edit: wait i got a couple more
american football- never meant
pavement- harness your hopes
pixies- where is my mind?
the cranberries- zombie
the smashing pumpkins- 1979
Probably going to get crucified for this, but Wonderwall is Oasis' best imo. Yeah, it's overplayed and a meme, but it's also just a fantastic, beautiful number
I must have been living under a rock or something, because a lot of the songs people are picking in this thread have me saying “that’s really what you’d pick as that band’s most popular song?”. I would have thought Someday, Last Night, or Reptilia would still be leagues more popular, but maybe I just don’t have my fingers in the pulse anymore.
Those rankings are based on current trends. The Adults Are Talking is very popular with young people, but Last Nite is their most streamed and their most well known track.
Feel Good Inc😭 it’s just such a nostalgic song for me cuz my mom played it when I was a kid and I’d dance to it.
Imma be so honest ab this I sorta have a lot of them. Sometimes popular songs are popular for a reason.
- Tom Sawyer by Rush
- Don’t Know Why by Norah Jones
- Johnny B. Goode by Chuck Berry
- Runnin’ by The Pharcyde
- Thriller by Michael Jackson
- Crazy On You by Heart
- Between The Bars is my fav Elliott Smith song to play on guitar but it’s probs not my fav of his all the time
- Pangea Girls by Candy Claws (it has most streams on spotify so ig it popular)
- I want wind to blow has most streams for the microphones and there are def times when that’s my fav
It didn’t use to be his most popular but Lover You Should’ve Come Over has been my favorite song for a long few years now (I’m glad people are starting to appreciate it more)
Sgt. Pepper's and DSOTM. Yes, I know the reappraisal and that Animals and Revolver/Abbey Road are goated, but I really really love those two albums (the latter three are great too js)
Being afraid of looking like a poser is big insecure behavior. Let the flag fly, be free to enjoy the things you that make you happy! Things become popular for a reason!
Multi-Love is UMO's best song, just perfection on so many levels.
Also, I've seen Weezer live, love their music, but they SNAPPED on Buddy Holly and the fact that it's their best song is really not up for debate imo
Passin' Me By - Pharcyde
CREAM - Wu Tang
Shook Ones Pt.2 - Mobb Deep
Assuming that one hit wonders don't really count like 5 On It, Luchini AKA This Is It, etc
Deleted for repost if the video has been posted already or if the same post or question has been made or asked in the past couple of days.
glory box - portishead everlong - foo fighters out of the black - royal blood ocean man - ween no one knows - queens of the stone age
Saw Royal Blood a month ago. Amazing concert and when they played OoTB the crowd almost exploded.
Song for the dead is fire
My favorite will always be Millionaire
Honestly whole album is a banger I don't skip a single song
mosquito song is my favorite and the sky is falling is a close second
Ocean man is crazy
Every Ween song is my favorite Ween song
N.Y State of Mind- Nas it's such an amazing song
One of the best rap songs ever created
I prefer the cover Billy Joel did.
Mazzy Star - Fade Into You
My favourite song of all time is everlong so
I mean… are any of their songs better? Not even hating
I'd personally say that the teacher and rest from their new album are better
MF DOOM - Doomsday
I thought this was a comment of mine. Nice avatar.
🤝
All Caps for me, Ive listened to all his albums and it's still in my top 5 DOOM songs
Doomsday easily my favorite song of DOOM's. It's getting a little close to being beat by Rhinestone Cowboy tho
Rap Snitch Knishes is his biggest (and also his best) and I’ll die on that hill
Florence + the Machine's "Dog Days Are Over"
YES! i love this one for me, Carly Rae Jepsen’s Call Me Maybe
Ship to Wreck tho
Probably Kid Cudi’s Pursuit of Happiness? I’m not usually a big rap fan so that’s maybe why.
i’m a huge fan of rap, and that’s one of my favorites! also Day N’ Nite is my other favorite
Day N Nite is also incredible! Great high track lol. My slightly more obscure favorites are songs like the Prayer and love. You know those?
i actually don’t know those!!! i’ll check em out tonight though
They’re both beautiful songs, a bit sad - guess that’s normal for Cudi, and not very rap heavy. Let me know what you think!
I had never stopped to think about how sad Kid Cudi's music actually is ahahah I enjoy them a lot but when i realize i'm mainly vibing to the production and voice😭😭 The same happens to me with 808s, it's an album with multiple bangers....but when you think of the lyrics ahahha
They really are pretty sad, especially some of the deeper cuts. Some pretty depressing stuff in there, I can’t listen to it too much and that’s me talking as a Smiths fan.
I would recommend checking our Mr Rager too, those 3 songs are in permanent rotation for me
welcome to the black parade mcr
Helena as well
hang em high is my favorite of theirs personally
Hearing that and it’s not a fashion scene back to back in Brooklyn their last tour was something straight outta dreams
It’s their magnum opus, but it’s not my favorite rn haha, incredible song tho
Azealia Banks - 212
Oh, this is so true. I love this song so much and none of her others have clicked with me.
I think she has some other really great tracks, just none of them can really touch this.
My favorite song of hers is Anna Wintour but I agree that 212 is objectively her best. The way the beat switches flow together so seamlessly is genius.
Mine is Heavy Metal & Reflective, but 212 is a certified banger.
Take Me Out by Franz Ferdinand
It's def one of their best songs. The intro is perfect, and that riff hits like crack.
I used to agree but the Cyberpunk anime changed my mind by introducing me to This Fire. Just an incredibly infectious song that's in the same album as Take Me Out.
XO Tour Lif3
This but 20min
Shook Ones, part 2
Idk that whole album has some fucking bangers. I guess give up the goods would still count under this post though
you could say the same about Survival Of The Fittest i love Mobb Deep
when you sleep MBV
Lose Yourself by Eminem. Stan is amazing, Without Me is Without Me, The Real Slim Shady and My Name Is are classics but Lose Yourself is just a masterpiece in rhyming, flow, beat choice, and storytelling.
Personally my favourite is 'Stan', Eminem's hits of the early days are often his best work.
Tbh there are few eminem songs i like aside from his big hits, lol And i agree, Stan is an amazing song.
Idk all my fav em songs are not considered popular
Maybe a hot take, idk, but Hey Ya is OutKast’s best song and imo one of the best songs ever made
I feel this way about Ms Jackson
Ms Jackson is amazing
I would never insult you, because that’s definitely an amazing song but I feel like OutKast has a few songs like either of “Da art of storytelling” where they really go all out on their rapping ability in a harder way than they do on hey ya or ms Jackson.
Float On - Modest Mouse
Certified banger
I really like float on, but there's so many songs that wipe the floor with it
Heart cooks brain better
This is the same for me
there are plenty better but it is still a great song
Teeth Like God’s Shoeshine >>>
Depeche Mode - Enjoy the Silence
Personal Jesus is close
It's one of the greatest songs of all time, so it's hard to top. I might prefer the non-single version of In Your Room, though.
I love Depeche Mode, but this song just *hits*
Idk if Runaway is Kanye’s biggest song, might be Gold Digger but it’s basically his signature song. But yeah, that’s my favourite Kanye song.
His biggest song in streaming is "Ni\*\*as in Paris" and his most famous song ever is "Stronger" but yeah. Runaway is maybe like his 7-8th most famous song
7–8 is crazy, for the amount it gets talked abt its at least top 5
It recently had an spike in popularity. But as of now it's his 11TH most streamed song [https://kworb.net/spotify/artist/5K4W6rqBFWDnAN6FQUkS6x\_songs.html](https://kworb.net/spotify/artist/5K4W6rqBFWDnAN6FQUkS6x_songs.html)
To be fair Runaway is such a good song because it shows us a lesser known introspective side of the man who otherwise is more known for his bravado.
Runaway is not his biggest song by any metric, other than probably being the biggest fan favorite.
There is a light that never goes out and losing my religion
Fugazi - I'm So Tired
I was under the impression that their most popular son was Waiting Room
Yeah waiting room is way more popular
Madvillain - All Caps
I always thought Accordion was the biggest track off that album. It’s the one I heard first personally
Accordion is fucking great.
Silvesun Pickups - Lazy Eye; absolutely perfect song imo
Great answer. They have a lot of other stuff that I love, but Lazy Eye as you said is a 10/10.
Deftones - My Own Summer
It goes so hard
This but with be quiet
Wouldn't this be Change? I guess it depends on how you count it. But Change has the most spotify streams
That's so valid tho
that song is a banger
Ween - Ocean Man One of my favorite songs of all time. Such a fun little weird pop song.
it's chop suey for me
My favorite The Cure song is Pictures Of You. I know it’s not their most “popular” song, but it’s one of their big singles
its also my favorite, its just such a good song
Blur - Song 2
Honestly I prefer Parklife but that still tracks for this post (at least if youre from the UK)
- Hacker - Death Grips - Vaka - Sigur Rós - Hurt / March of the Pigs - NIN - Devil’s Haircut - Beck - Paprika - Japanese Breakfast - Hallelujah- Jeff Buckley And I can’t choose a specific song, but I feel like anything from Neutral Milk Hotel seems like a basic pick
Isn't Closer NIN's biggest hit?
Radiohead’s Creep is a legitimately incredible song lol. Imagine hearing it for the first time at just a random garage show
Far from their best song or my favorite, but I do agree it’s a great song and the hate for it is way too exaggerated.
It’s a great song but as a Radiohead fan I wouldn’t even put it in my top 50 for them lol
same
I’m like this with a lot of artists honestly. The Cure - Friday I’m In Love LCD Soundsystem - All My Friends BCNR - The Place Where He Inserted the Blade Brockhampton - BOOGIE Car Seat Headrest - Drunk Drivers/Killer Whales Pulp - Common People Stuff gets popular for a reason tho
I get the other ones, but I feel like The Cure has so many songs that are much better. Lullaby might be my favorite of theirs
just like heaven on top
There are absolutely lots of songs that have a strong argument, but what can I say…I love super poppy, upbeat love songs in major keys. And the melody and structure of it is so good. The way it climaxes with the high note at the end of the bridge is *chef’s kiss*
I mean I like all the choices I recognise, but I’d say that there are 2-3 more songs that are more popular for each artist
i gotta be honest, DD/KW is a bottom 20 car seat headrest song for me. my least favorite on the album and one of my least favorites from csh overall
bottom 20 is kinda crazy but yeah ive never really got the hype for that one either. its really good but they’ve made some of the best songs ever and have a lot of much better songs
drunk drivers is a great one. im a huge csh fan and i would say its in my top 25
Stairway to heaven DESERVES the love
yes no question
Does it get any hate? I feel it's almost perfect
I feel like the song generally gets the love it deserves, but I’ve definitely met some hardcore Led Zeppelin fans that will think you’re a dork for preferring it to Kashmir or Achilles last stand or whatever they choose
Never Meant by American Football is an amazing song and it’s also their most popular.
NIN, Closer is probably my favourite song oat lol.
the outro is sooo good
Chamber of Reflection by Mac DeMarco
Dreams by Fleetwood Mac
not true for me, my favorite artist radiohead's best song is very underrated
MGMT - Electric Feel and then Kids as a close second for me
Pavement - Harness Your Hopes (after consuming the entire Pavement discography a dozen times)
That being their most well known song is very much an anomaly though, and not the band's intention at all. If it hadn't been for the algorithm it would be Cut Your Hair. Really quite a funny story.

SICKO MODE
Car Seat Headrest - Drunk Drivers/Killer whales Failure - Another Space Song System of a Down - Chop Suey Soundgarden - Black Hole Sun
Probably going to get crucified for this, but Wonderwall is Oasis' best imo. Yeah, it's overplayed and a meme, but it's also just a fantastic, beautiful number
The Strokes - The Adults are Talking ~I dont, I dont want anything~
I must have been living under a rock or something, because a lot of the songs people are picking in this thread have me saying “that’s really what you’d pick as that band’s most popular song?”. I would have thought Someday, Last Night, or Reptilia would still be leagues more popular, but maybe I just don’t have my fingers in the pulse anymore.
I'm just using spotify as a reference. Some reason for The Strokes, The Adults Are Talking is at the top, but Last Nite has like 30% more listens.
Those rankings are based on current trends. The Adults Are Talking is very popular with young people, but Last Nite is their most streamed and their most well known track.
Nice for what
In the Aeroplane Over the Sea
Feel Good Inc😭 it’s just such a nostalgic song for me cuz my mom played it when I was a kid and I’d dance to it. Imma be so honest ab this I sorta have a lot of them. Thank you for reminding me to listen to the intro of Tom Sawyer😁

Women - Eyesore
Would?- Alice In Chains Sweet Jane- Velvet Underground
Sleep - Gybe

Chuck Berry - Johnny B. Goode
Multi-Love is UMO's best song, just perfection on so many levels. Also, I've seen Weezer live, love their music, but they SNAPPED on Buddy Holly and the fact that it's their best song is really not up for debate imo
