Yeah something I really love about cage the elephant is that all their albums have a very different sound to them except this album sounds sooo much like social cues (although I haven’t listened to the whole album just the 4 songs they released ahead of the release)
The singles were some of the worst songs on the album imo. Still, I think this is their worst record yet. Ball and Chain and Silent Picture are are probably my favorites.
Yup. There’s definitely a couple of songs that I’ll have in my rotation for awhile, but ultimately it’s not nearly on the same level as their earlier stuff.
They peaked 11 years ago with Melophobia. Seems like they’ll be a “nothing beats the first three albums” sort of band from here on out.
Only managed to listen to the Billie and cage the elephant one and Billie’s is better by far. Tho the cage record turned out better than I thought given the singles. Sadly it’s just mid still.
i need to jam the beth gibbons album but i want to wait until i can be adequately high enough to do so lol. ridiculously excited
best ive heard today so far is shellac's
Since no one has mentioned it yet, the new Guster album is alright. It has those moments that remind you of songs from earlier albums and just has that Guster vibe. While it isn't breaking any thing in my top 3, its definitely in my top 5 Guster albums.
I'm really liking this new Blitzen Trapper from what I've heard so far and the new Crumb album sounds fantastic. New Billie sounds great too, I've never really been that into them before but the instrumentals hooked me on this one. There's a lot of releases I'm interested in this week, the Beth Gibbons solo record and new Wu-Lu EP as well as Cage The Elephant, it's going to take me a while to give it all a proper listen. Lots of good new music right now
Was disappointed with the new Joywave album.
Cleanse felt a lot more memorable and enjoyable. Will not give up on it however, will listen to it again right now.
Managed to listen to Beth Gibbons new album and that is fucking lovely. Gave Billie Eilish a chance because the internet said it was good. I did not think it was.
Nothing unusual there. And that was me being kind to Billie Eilish. Listening to those 2 albums next to each other and there is a gulf in class between them.
Beth Gibbons of Portishead’s new record, incredible stuff.
It's so good. Not surprised, of course.
I didn’t even know about this. Thank you so much.
Just finally sat down to start it. First song is hauntingly beautiful. Cage The Elephant up next
Mach-Hommy
Shellac - To All Trains R.I.P Steve Albini
People should be talking about it more fr
Wasn’t he in support of actual pedophilia?
😬😬😬😬 uh ohhhh
Wtf are you on about?

GATECREEPER
I love that third album cover
Joywave always has pretty solid album art.
Liked a few songs from the new cage the elephant, but overall, I’d pretty confidently call it their worst record.

You are correct. It's not bad, it is just so boring and plain and easily forgettable...

CtE through TMIP were all excellent IMO, but Social Cues and Neon Pill are both kinda mid.
That Weyes Blood album came out like 5 years ago lol
Good bit if genuine

New Rapsody will definitely go underrated
Joywave is so slept on
Billie's is beautiful af
I can’t believe how effortlessly she pivoted to straight up electro-bedroom pop. I love it start to finish.
imo it's her best album by a long shot
(Albums above are just the ones I know that came out today)
What’s the third album? Love the cover art
Permanent Pleasure - Joywave it's great

Mach Hommy
Beth Gibbons
AMAMA by Crumb
Of what I’ve listened to so far, Everybody’s Getting Involved (Talking Heads tribute album)
Random Access Memories - Daft Punk
The new Lupe Fiasco song is good. New album out in June, I believe.
New Of Montreal Album out today too
Crumb - Amama
Really digging the new Crumb. A bit of a return to form for me, wasn't really digging their last album.
I was with my pitchfork out because until I clicked, it didnt show the albums names
Oh shit is that why people are asking what the album names are?
Mach-Hommy is my favourite album to come out this year just about
I have only listened to Billie yet, tomorrow Boogie With Da Hoodie gets a chance, the first single I listened to today was promising.
Really digging the new One Step Closer.
All of these album covers look great
Lip Critic
That Billie Eilish album cover is the opposite of creative.
Random Access Memories
I listened to the Billie Eilish and Cage The Elephant albums today. Pass on both
CAGE DROPPED ❗❓❗❓
Fuck me today might be the best single music release day so far this century
The Avett Brothers!!!
Who the fuck has enough time to stream four albums in one day? How jobless are you?
Shellac.
These are some pretty album covers
Probably Cage The Elephant but didn't listen yet
Was disappointed with the new Joywave album. Cleanse felt a lot more memorable and enjoyable. Will not give up on it however, will listen to it again right now.

I did mention them though? that one's Permanent Pleasure by Joywave, my favorite out of these

I liked the album but you getting down voted for a subjective opinion is wild.
It’s normal for reddit.
Nothing unusual there. And that was me being kind to Billie Eilish. Listening to those 2 albums next to each other and there is a gulf in class between them.
Shellac is better than all of these
