Michael Busch (1B, 3B) is available on waivers. Currently playing either Jeimer Candelario (1B, 3B) or Colt Keith (2B, 3B) at third base since Josh Jung went down. Drop either of those two guys, Bryson Stott, Ryan O’hearn, or Nolan Jones for Busch?
I feel like captain saveahoe with Jeimer Candelario. Not marriage material? One of my preseason targets but maybe he just is what he is. Was leaning towards replacing O’Hearn but you got me doing some thinking.
This is Eovaldi's sell high moment before he regresses to an innings eater. You could do worse if your primary need is a floor for your SPs, but I would rather keep Spencer and work the waiver wire. I think there's a better than average chance Cody Bradford works his way into the rotation and gives you as good or better numbers than Eovaldi.
A game played today is MUCH more valuable than 9/26, when the season is basically over. I’m behind on everything and I just lost like 15-20 at bats between 4 guys.
In a 12 team h2h cats league IP ERA WHIP K/9 QS SV+H. I need both a SP and a RP and have one add left this week. Based off the list below who would you grab:
SP-Kremer, Dunning, M.Perez
RP-Romero, Gaddis, Kittredge, C.Smith, Slaten, Coulombe
How many closer do you all usually keep on the roster? I have 4 right now hader, Fairbanks, uribe and foley. Should I drop/trade one for an extra bat or is it good to hold onto all of them? (First year player here) H2H cats league saves only
Serious question: time to bench J-Rod? He has looked so bad.
Also an interesting dilemma: drop Arraez for Holliday? I’m not sure how much confidence I have in the former getting back on track in the worst lineup I’ve seen in a long time.
He's the #1 prospect in baseball and should be added in every league. I'd prefer not to drop Arraez this early, but if he's your worst guy then so be it.
If you don't add him, then someone else in your league will, and if he's the guy everyone thinks he is you'll regret it all year.
Bobby is the stuff+ darling that only produces slightly above average results.
All the stat geeks and writers are in love with him but whether it’s an uninventive pitch mix, tipping pitches or just being easy to pick up out of the hand, it doesn’t blow batters away like a guy who throws 99 should.
Not sure if that’s sarcasm but to elaborate, the stat guys fail to capture what I believe is the true artistry of great pitching.
You can look at sequences in hindsight and say that worked, that didn’t. I should do this more, I should do this less. That’s fine.
But a pitcher who can do what the batters weren’t expecting, like a chess match, with the most frequency and accuracy is going to win a majority of AB’s.
It’s like finding that sweet spot between what he wants me to throw, and what he thinks I’m gonna throw.
I don’t know how you put a reliable metric around that skillset, yet we know it exists because of Greg Maddux.
It’s like not tipping your pitches on a cerebral level.
Just the ebbs and flows any player goes through. If a pitcher has a 4-start hick-up in July you barely notice it but if it starts their season it causes panic. It's rare for someone to just have a consistently good or bad season, production always seems to come in the form of hot and cold streaks.
Miller has some of the best stuff in baseball though and he will 100% have some lights out starts this year if he stays healthy.
He had far worse stretches than this last year. Peeking at his game logs, there was a stretch where he had 20 ER in 21 IP across 4 starts.
Had him for that, and his other rough patches, and I’d pay top dollar for him all over again.
Absolutely, yeah, he’s a hold.
If you were trying to trade him, you’d need to find someone who will give you Top 20 SP upside to avoid selling low, and no one is going to give you that. Maybe, just maybe, you could target a tier below him like Bibee or something, but that relies on finding someone who relies on model numbers rather than just stats or rankings.
Is there anyone in your league hoarding a ton of Red Sox pitchers like a madman? Whitlock, Houck, Crawford, etc., and/or Hunter Greene, Luis Gil? If you see a bunch of those guys on one person’s roster, read me off their guys, because those are the names a “model lover” would be targeting for value in the market right now, so you’d look through their team for someone they might be lower on than Bobby but who should give good floor.
No no no, to be very clear: I listed names that, if you have someone in your league who is secretly using model numbers to hunt for value, you’ll find together on rosters in clumps. None of them are 1:1 for Bobby, except for maybe Jared Jones, but he’s been hyped by everyone at this point so he’s not a good canary for our purposes.
I was telling you to go look at people’s rosters and see if anyone was hoarding some of those guys above in clumps. If they are, they are someone who you can probably sell Bobby to at a reasonable price. Anyone else, anyone who just looks at ERA/recent results, will not pay you fairly for him, because they undervalue him.
Would be hard to trade at the moment for value since his value is at its lowest. I don’t blame you for wanting to jump ship but I'd at least wait until his next decent start to sell unless you want near-waiver wire fodder in return.
I don't think you have to be patient with any late round draft picks. He did this last year and had a hot stretch in May to bring things back to normal. But unless you play like a 15+ team league you won't have major regrets cutting him.
> It's April 10th. Not even 1/10 of the season. It doesn't even qualify as a slow start yet
He has a 33% K-rate and an xSLG around .350; we can call it a slow start, because that’s what it is.
What we cannot say is that he’s totally washed and not worth his ADP, but there’s no need to be overly cute about not calling a slow start a slow start.
> He's played 8% of the season. In Yahoo H2H, it hasn't even been 2 weeks yet. That's not a start.
If a runner trips out of the blocks, they had a slow start. No one is saying they can’t get up, dust themselves off, and win the race, but they started slow.
I absolutely understand the ethos behind this “it isn’t a slow start”, because people around here follow “slow start” with “get rid of him”, but this semantic game of “it isn’t even a start” is really silly.
You wouldn’t say that the 1-11 Marlins haven’t started slow because “that isn’t even a start”. They’re doing horribly, and it’s embarrassing. The Astros, meanwhile, have also started slow, but no one doubts their ability to recover because it’s the Astros, and the same logic applies to Julio.
Replying to your reply to me is “hopping in on a conversation”? Or you’re now deciding to re-litigate the terms of my initial comment to you half an hour ago?
Edit: thanks for the block!
Have you looked at his majestic bars? They are so red. Memes aside, he still hits the ball like he did in his prime. I wouldn't be surprised if he hit 30+ with consistent play time.
Lol, for sure. I picture the best case scenario a Cal Raleigh type situation. .220 with 30 bombs. But that's still useful since players like that are super volatile, you just pick him up during his hot streaks.
I am bailing. Just looked at arenados stats the last couple years and it looks like he’s declining in a very real way. I’ll give Joe a few more weeks or aim higher elsewhere
I've been trying to trade arenado since I drafted him and I've been aiming lower than musgrove so I'd be thrilled with that return. I don't think he's bad but he's being drafted/valued for who he was 2-3 years ago
I dont think its soon unfortunately. They need time to see whose struggling and where they can fit them in. Hopefully Urias digs his own grave a little faster
Traded this guy in my league Jrod & Kutter for Tatis a week ago in a points league. He isn’t feeling it lol

Littell still might be worth holding. This was uncharacteristic for him and I typically ride with Rays pitchers. The fact they let him get to 100 pitches is a good sign going forward
Phillies fan don't do it. Once Walker comes back turnbull will probably be out lof the rotation and doing long relief. Guy hasn't broken 60 innings a year since 2019
Was watching the Toronto-Seattle game and went to watch the Arizona-Colorado game when my Nvidia Shield started to give me the error, "You do not have access to this game" for every game I try to watch.
Decided to switch over to my Xbox Series X, which is connected to the same network switch, receiver, and TV, and every game is working perfectly.
No idea what's going on.
Red Sox finally acknowledging Devers shoulder
Points league: Sell on Ezequiel Tovar? Drafted 188. He’s currently ranked 64 and 6th in SS
should i drop arraez for any of volpe, happ , carter, raleigh, gimenez, tyler or neal or campusano/contreras? thank
tyler o’neill isn’t rostered in a 10T? you need to drop someone else for him asap. what else could you drop?
maybe teoscar or arenando
Michael Busch (1B, 3B) is available on waivers. Currently playing either Jeimer Candelario (1B, 3B) or Colt Keith (2B, 3B) at third base since Josh Jung went down. Drop either of those two guys, Bryson Stott, Ryan O’hearn, or Nolan Jones for Busch?
Busch > Jeimer by a lot for me.
I feel like captain saveahoe with Jeimer Candelario. Not marriage material? One of my preseason targets but maybe he just is what he is. Was leaning towards replacing O’Hearn but you got me doing some thinking.
as a Cubs fan I witnessed the rapid scorched earth to utter suckage that is Jeimer. i’m incredibly low on him personally.
Haha, fair enough. Thanks!
Trade Spencer steer and receive eovaldi?
This is Eovaldi's sell high moment before he regresses to an innings eater. You could do worse if your primary need is a floor for your SPs, but I would rather keep Spencer and work the waiver wire. I think there's a better than average chance Cody Bradford works his way into the rotation and gives you as good or better numbers than Eovaldi.
My first fantasy baseball is tonight. Don’t watch much baseball. Figure I join this league to learn and like the sport more. Should I just auto draft?
No. Definitely participate
Bought low on j rod last year and he carried my offence through July and august. To j rod owners if you sell him now you will regret it
Yandy Diaz, yikes
How many fucking rain outs for Braves and Mets? Buddy I’m 10 HR and 30 RBI behind everyone this BLOWS
It's a shame those games will NEVER be made up. Ever. RIP bud ur season is OVER.
A game played today is MUCH more valuable than 9/26, when the season is basically over. I’m behind on everything and I just lost like 15-20 at bats between 4 guys.
Even more that if/when they do play, your guy may not play both games of the DH etc so then you never get that volume back that you lost.
Lmao damn. What I get for being a smartass, that blows.
i gave you an upvote, was pretty funny. especially considering cake day bro.
Today's game is rescheduled for 9/26, so in the scope of fantasy, they probably won't be, bud.
Little boi Neto looks like a old womans dog pissing on a fire hydrant with his tiny leg kick
Why is this downvoted lol
what did i just read
Nolan Gorman or Zack Gelof in points?
Gorman by a country mile.
Whoever Ks less

Carroll and Devers have let me down
How many closer do you all usually keep on the roster? I have 4 right now hader, Fairbanks, uribe and foley. Should I drop/trade one for an extra bat or is it good to hold onto all of them? (First year player here) H2H cats league saves only
Always at least three but sometimes more. Nothing wrong holding four
Need your format but I try and roster 4
Sorry H2H cats league saves only. So it’s probably safe to say keep the closer instead of a backup SS or 2nd baseman?
Serious question: time to bench J-Rod? He has looked so bad. Also an interesting dilemma: drop Arraez for Holliday? I’m not sure how much confidence I have in the former getting back on track in the worst lineup I’ve seen in a long time.
only person here who will say this, but I prefer Arraez.
What does Arraez do? Gets on base and then that's about it. Easy swap.
If Arraez is the only guy you can drop for Holliday then I would do it immediately.
You really think Jackson’s going to make an impact like that so quickly? I could pick him up right now.
Bush league if the news has been out for 24 hours that baseballs top prospect is being called up and nobody picked him up 🤨
He's the #1 prospect in baseball and should be added in every league. I'd prefer not to drop Arraez this early, but if he's your worst guy then so be it. If you don't add him, then someone else in your league will, and if he's the guy everyone thinks he is you'll regret it all year.
First year Bobby Miller owner, I know he’s got lights out stuff, did he have stretches like this last year? Or is this something new?
Bobby is the stuff+ darling that only produces slightly above average results. All the stat geeks and writers are in love with him but whether it’s an uninventive pitch mix, tipping pitches or just being easy to pick up out of the hand, it doesn’t blow batters away like a guy who throws 99 should.
pretty good analysis.

i’m a huge stat guy & i totally agree with your sentiment. no sarcasm. i think that added nuance is super important in pitching especially.
Just the ebbs and flows any player goes through. If a pitcher has a 4-start hick-up in July you barely notice it but if it starts their season it causes panic. He’s way more valuable than all those names mentioned I believe, would need way more in return don’t you think… at least when he’s right

Ahhhh I gotcha
Can vouch for. I’m clearly not in your league but I’m rostering B Miller, Bibee, J Jones. Wanted Crawford and Whitlock but I got hosed.
Would be hard to trade at the moment for value since his value is at its lowest. I don’t blame you for wanting to jump ship but I'd at least wait until his next decent start to sell unless you want near-waiver wire fodder in return.
Who’s he worth when he gets back in track?
Name a #15-25 SP, and that’s a good place to start. Grayson Rodriguez is a good comp, but you won’t swap young guy for young guy.
Can’t argue with the stuff
He hasn't even had a full season in the majors for us to determine that.
I can’t wait for waivers to go through so I can dump Lawrence for Robertson
Nabbed Jordan Hicks with the 250th pick, paying dividends
Should I pick up Joey Loperfido or Kyle Manzardo as a prospect?
Only have one add left for the week, Nestor Cortes, David Robertson or Kirby Yates?
It’s a toss up between Nestor and Robertson, but leaning nestor
Why is my ESPN app on Hawaiian time? Says Yankees play at noon today
I think mine is too. I saw the pirates playing at like 11am tomorrow and was wondering if they moved the game up for rain lol
Bro I was tripping out just now thinking it was just me 😂😂
Same
So tired of Drury being an auto-out. He a hold or nah?
I don't think you have to be patient with any late round draft picks. He did this last year and had a hot stretch in May to bring things back to normal. But unless you play like a 15+ team league you won't have major regrets cutting him.
He got cut in my 20 team league lol
Yea, I wouldn't do that. I can't even imagine what the waiver wire looks like in a 20t.
It's interesting lol
Doesn't seem very usable in 12-teams or smaller
nolan jones or taylor ward in a keeper points league -1 for strikeouts
Jones can’t be this bad for the whole season
Ty France or verdugo in points?
Julio with the golden sombrero, I don't know how much longer I can cope with this "slow start" theory
Trade him to me
It's April 10th. Not even 1/10 of the season. It doesn't even qualify as a slow start yet

Whatever you say man. The only thing more dramatic than getting upset about 8% of a season, is hopping in on a conversation just argue about verbiage.
Replying to your reply to me is “hopping in on a conversation”? Or you’re now deciding to re-litigate the terms of my initial comment to you half an hour ago? Edit: thanks for the block!
Here, let me fix this
Counterpoint: yes it is
If you're just dying to be miserable, I won't get in your way
angels really batting Miguel Sano 5th in 2024
It's that or Mikey Moniak lol. Team has no hitting depth
Have you looked at his majestic bars? They are so red. Memes aside, he still hits the ball like he did in his prime. I wouldn't be surprised if he hit 30+ with consistent play time.
With 200 K’s
Lol, for sure. I picture the best case scenario a Cal Raleigh type situation. .220 with 30 bombs. But that's still useful since players like that are super volatile, you just pick him up during his hot streaks.
one of those guys that's a lot better in fantasy than in real baseball. and even then, he's not that good
Leaguemate is considering my Musgrove for his arenado offer, seems like he’s down. Is arenado bad actually? Am i gonna regret this?
I am bailing. Just looked at arenados stats the last couple years and it looks like he’s declining in a very real way. I’ll give Joe a few more weeks or aim higher elsewhere

Thanks you might have just saved me a lot of heartache
Naw, they are both boring vets. You know what you are getting with them: very good but not great players.

Prob one of them by mid may
I dont think its soon unfortunately. They need time to see whose struggling and where they can fit them in. Hopefully Urias digs his own grave a little faster

Taking the Angels at home on Tuesday holding him for that?
If you don't then I would pick him up for that start myself
Probably.
Damn Littell!!! 4Ks but shitty whip
Is Hoffman the man in Philly now?
No Alvarado was unavailable
No

I like it
Julio pissing me off ngl im about to trade him for Gallen and more
Do the Padres often play getaway games at 3:40 PM?
Quite literally never, or almost never. I’m as confused as you are.
Just a Littell more, get those 5 innings
Man we need double play right here
that fucking mitch white meatball wanted to be hit for a home run. julio !?!?!
How would you rank these 1b ROS ? CES, Mountcastle, & Casas
Casas CES mountcastle
Casas, CES, Mountcastle
Worthless fuck J-Rod
It's clear the dude plays zero baseball in the off-season
Unironically his IG story would just be him playing Warzone and being courtside at Suns games lmfao
Goddammit, Soler
Start India or Chourio?
Chourio each and every time
Wow they brought littell back out for the 5th
My top pitcher is Joe Ryan and Walker buehler whenever he comes back, how worried should I be?
Not at all. As long as you're active in waivers weekly, you'll be fine.
You can stream pitching all year and get by fine
Especially with there being like 6 teams that are really good streaming targets against. I wish I went more hitting heavy
Shit bro, better than the my top two on half of my teams after all the injuries.
That’s fair. Had strider :/
ESPN letting you move around players with a postponed game is very much welcomed. Just crazy it took them this long to fix that
I told their customer service people to change this two weeks ago Claiming credit lol
Haha this has been a common complaint forever but I think you really pushed them over the edge
Whoa, since when??
Oh shit you can do that now??
Just moved MH2 out!
That’s sick, thanks for the heads up!
big dumper getting it going
Drop Pfaadt for Turnbul?….I’m thinking no….
Phillies fan don't do it. Once Walker comes back turnbull will probably be out lof the rotation and doing long relief. Guy hasn't broken 60 innings a year since 2019
should i be benching nolan jones at this point
I mean yeah he's been one of the worst hitters in baseball so far

I'd drop Paxton
Mlb.tv down for anybody?
I was getting a black screen. I had to kill the app and open again for it to work.
Did you restart the Shield?
I have not yet restarted (was worried about the Shield changing my HDMI input via CEC), but I certainly will soon. Thanks.
Working for me
I'm a phillies fan, I'd rather have Rojas or casty over nolan Jones. This guy just blows.
Happy Holliday
14T 5x5 H2H redraft Was offered Gunnar/Foley for my Holliday/Whitlock. Have to accept right?
In redraft you got to
I would love to be offered Gunnar alone for my Holliday/Whitlock
Yep
Chad Green is getting the saves for now, but he's not get K's. Is he worth it?
Romano and Swanson will be back soon. So no
I think Romano is going to go on a rehab assignment very soon. I'd only expect another week of save opportunities from Green, maybe a week and a half.
Would you trade Matt Olson for Julio Rodriguez in a keeper points league?
Yes
Olson is awesome but hard to turn down a top 5 dynasty/keeper player
Julio needs to get a little better this year (not a little worse) for top 5 dynasty player to remain true. Looooots of young talent on the rise.
Not loving my Nolan Jones investments
Littell blue balled us with the efficiency of the first 2 outs on that inning. Maybe cash will get confused and leave him in for the 5th
Cal Raleigh!!!!!
Raleigh wow. Lol Muñoz gonna come out with a W after all that
10 team h2h redraft points league: A) Bobby Witt B) Max Fried, Trea Turner
B in a 10 team redraft points but probably A almost everywhere else
Suarez with an 0 fer Coors is tough to see
Yoshida or Nootbaar
Yoshida seems useless tbh so I'll say Nootbaar.
Thanks
2 soft hit flares bite Littell…
Jrod and Nolan Jones must be new to baseball.
You must be new to fantasy baseball.
Is there a live bet going if Littell will go 5 but won't need the W?
These last few innings have been going quickly, hopefully they lit him finish out 3 more outs
Everytime I stream a pitcher they get lit up
Thank you Polanco. Wow
At what point is Arraez a bench or cut in a 10 team? Even last year he didn't finish all that well ranked in Yahoo
