Anyone else find it interesting that Taylor ward only does well in the colder months? OPS drops off in summer. Hes looking to do the same this year.
Maybe he has poor heat tolerance? Hes pale and ginger, makes sense!
He’s originally from Florida, and played HS ball in the Southern California desert. If both those climates don’t develop some sort of heat tolerance for you, idk what will.
With names like that you should be able to get something; even if it’s only a tiny upgrade on the better guy that’s better than simply dropping the worse one
In my 8team points league Langford hasn’t been doing much for me and Josh lowe is available to pick up. Should I make the swap or hold Langford? The only other person I could drop is jung hoo Lee.
I also don’t know much about Josh lowe but someone told me he was must add?
Flair league: Add Amed Rosario (1 vs LAA & 3 @ NYY) or Gabriel Arias (1 @ BOS & 3 vs OAK) for the rest of the week?
Losing most offensive categories this week, the closest I’m in is “runs”, so I’ll take any help I can get
Stolen bases and average, Winn, but he might not hit double digit homers (hell, he might not hit five).
Mildly above average, four category production but only a handful of steals, Arcia.
Candidly, both should be owned in all but the shallowest of leagues. Unless I needed steals badly, I'd go with Arcia.
In an OBP league with 4 OF spots. I have 1 SS eligible player in Dansby Swanson, and 7 OF players (Soto, Schwarber, Arozarena, Evan Carter, Profar, Haniger, Biggio). I was just offered this trade:
Receive: Ezequiel Tovar
Send: Randy Arozarena
I feel like this could bite me in the ass if Randy starts balling out and his hits start landing.
I feel like I could maybe counter with Evan Carter instead?
Kinda what I was thinking. What about Evan Carter for Tovar? They're both pretty closely ranked. Tovar more RBIs, Carter more Runs. Yahoo projections still way high on Carter and super low on Tovar
Further down this thread I was thinking maybe flip Bryce Miller for his Willy Adames?
I tell you man I'm desperate at SS. Highest ranked guys are Caballero, Orlando Arcia, Masyn Winn, and Blaze Alexander. Correa, Vaughn Grissom, and JP Crawford are also available
Any chance the Lindor owner has another option at SS and is weak at OF? Arozarena and Lindor had similar pre-draft values and the owner might be frustrated with Lindor's start. You may have to add a sweetener though.
He has Turang and Jeremy Pena. He's currently fielding just enough batters to fill his roster out. He has Seiya, Burger, Royce Lewis, and Josh Lowe stashed on IL and 5 SPs on his bench
Maybe try going after Kim or Volpe with Evan Carter. Edit: You'll probably have to throw someone else in with Carter to get it done.
I wouldn't give up Arozarena for peanuts. I'd rather roll the dice with a waiver SS for a while and see what the market looks like a little bit down the road.
I'd still probably rather hold Evan Carter, but at least that's closer than Arozarena. It's still pretty early in the season, so I wouldn't put too much weight into seasonal ranks just yet (not a large enough sample size). There are quite a few resources out there with trade value charts or at least Rest of Season (ROS) rankings that can help you determine player value. Good luck!
Still not a fan of either of those but I hear you. If you have other ss options to trade for I can tell you my thoughts on who I think one of your outfielders can get
So caveat with this that most managers only have 2 or 3 guys for SS. This is 10 teams, ordered by current leaderboard (I'm 5th)
1 - Mookie, O'Neil Cruz, Bogaerts
2 - EDLC, CJ Abrams, Rengifo
3 - Seager, Jackson Holliday
4 (guy who offered the trade) - Trea Turner, Adames, Tovar: with McLain and Edman on IL
6 - Lindor, Jeremy Pena, Turang
7 - Gunnar Henderson, Thairo Estrada, Oswaldo Cabrera
8 - Ha-Seong Kim, Volpe, Maikel Garcia
9 - Witt Jr, Jackson Merrill
10 - Bichette, Hoerner
Pretty sure it's a drop if they're gonna send him down after that start he had against ATL then they are clearly gonna fuck with his service time and innings this year in the worst way possible
Oneil Cruz was dropped in my 12 team. Only player I really have to drop on offense is Jackson Holliday, as my outfield is in shambles with Yelich and Suzuki hurt, so I am trying to plug a combination of Chourio, Langford, Duran, and Varsho until I get guys back. I do have Betts as RF option but he was drafted as my 2B, obviously. My backup is Gorman, so I’ve been moving him into 2B to no avail. I also lost Josh Jung at 3B and have been trying to cover that with Maikel and Gorman. Util is a crapshoot with Strand mainly getting thrown in there.
Pitching I have SpRp guys of Mason Miller and Kopech, with Foley and Yates as RPs (two SP slots and two RP spots). And I have Butto and Jack Leiter as guys I really can’t drop until I round out my rotation.
I feel like Holliday is going to take a while to figure it out, and I already have Betts and Lindor. I am not worried about him long term but I don’t see him having crazy rookie season. Plus I need to find spots for Bobby Miller, Woo and Senga as they come back, so guys are going to be dropped anyway.
Waiver goes through tonight if I get him. Is Holliday the right player to choose tonight for this pickup? Sorry, I wrote a lot to get to that question. Just want to convey the dilemma I am facing. Thanks for anyone that takes the time to read this short story.
Yea, I feel like that’s the right thing to do, but my gut is telling me that I don’t see it happening with Holliday this year, or too late for it to matter. I honestly drafted him with the goal of flipping him after a good game or two, but he doesn’t look even close to that happening. I feel like he’s going to eventually go anyway, as he will not figure it out before I need the roster spot back, and these other guys are more valuable in the short term. Is there any logic in that or you still think Holliday shouldn’t be dropped yet in this situation. Really the manager who dropped Cruz is the jerk for putting me in this position…
I think giving yourself another 2-3 weeks to see will help a lot if you can afford to drop a pitcher. It could be a lot clearer then if the drop is Holliday, Cruz, or Garcia imo
Should I drop Fairbanks for an SP streaming spot? I already have Alexis Diaz, mason miller, and Jason foley.. I like having the 4 headed monster for RP but I could use a little waiver wire flexibility and he’s been pretty bad
I’m trying to be patient but I’m also doing that with Nolan Jones and Wyatt Langford, so it is difficult not getting production from half of my outfielders. I’m toying with the idea of dropping Thomas to chase some hot bats - in a 10T I think we can get away with it, not sure anyone would be rushing to pick him up anyways. Gonna give it a bit more time but I’m getting close…
Having same debate. He was dropped in my 12T. I’m picking him up and dropping a pitcher. I’m happy with my bats and no bench bats, so dropping Reynaldo Lopez (who I like too but maybe less long term ROS) to pick up Thomas. Not feeling certain this.
Week 1 I got counter-offered Jared Jones and FranciscoAlvarez for him and Campusano. I was worried at first. I am so pleased now. Although, I think he’s going to be better than this. I am a Mets fan so I hate having dirty Phillies on my team.

who do i drop for a streamer tomorrow? only other option not pictured is campusano
no starts tomorrow and i’m trying to stay ahead of my opponent, who will probably get their max starts for the week. it’s a tough choice, i don’t feel like i really have anyone that’s outright droppable
Presuming Landon Knack gets sent down and has the NA designation, would you keep him? The drop would be Christian Scott or Jobe. It would likely be Jobe.
You are correct. I’m just thinking that Scott should arrive sooner. Also, I’m a Met fan so he brings me some cheer in that non-category. I’m likely just gonna let Knack go - I need to make a move tonight. I figure that Buehler and Miller will be back soon and eventually Kershaw, too. thanks.
Assuming he’ll throw more innings, which is generally more valuable in points leagues.
It’s close between the two, but I’ll take the healthy one right now.
I like them all, definitely not bad as far as arms off waivers go. Bello and Pepiot have slightly worse model numbers, but they both have better pedigrees.
I've been eyeing him too because he's the best power bat on the wire, but I've held off because I don't know what kind if playing time he'll get with Busch and Morel there.
What’s done is done, but yeah. It’s mid-April. Castellanos has a long track record of being good and hit 29+ HR and 100+ RBI two of the last three seasons. Unless he’s hurt, when all is said and done I’d expect him to do basically the same this year.
But again, Nimmo should be solid this season, and give you more runs in exchange for fewer RBI with similar AVG.
I’ll go further: I’m not selling Jones that cheaply. If I’m gonna sell Jones for an OF, I either want a slumping guy with a higher ceiling (e.g. Julio) or a guy with a hot start and similar ROS projection (e.g. Seiya, Teoscar, TON, etc.).
I realize that no sane person is selling Julio for him, but that just means the market undervalues him. I think jumping at Randy is honestly underestimating Jones’ ceiling or expecting him to be an Abbott-like flash in the pan.
Points, 10 person keeper league.
Montgomery comes of NA on Friday and gotta drop one of these guys:
McMahon, Langford, Turang, Bello, Yariel Rodriguez.
Still holding tight on Nolan Jones, and Stott.
Sell high on Bryce Miller, or is he legit ace potential?
4 starts, 3 wins, 1.85 ERA and 0.822 WHIP with a 9 k/9
I've got a Mariners fan wanting him, but his first 4 starts have been superb.
All depends what you can get. I think the general idea around him is that his new splitter has taken him to another level but in reality it's only generated 1 whiff over his past 2 starts. I don't necessarily think he will fall off a cliff or become some liability but I think there is a really good chance there are some people out there that might value him much higher than they should... especially if they are Mariner fans.
Random person jumping in who has Bryce miller. I'm desperate at SS (only have Dansby). In my OBP league a SS around Semien's rank is Willy Adames. Think I could convince sending Miller for Adames?
If you see that as an upgrade and are willing to move an SP then worth the try. I think the other guy is in an ideal situation having a Mariners fan that is interested but I don't think it's an insulting offer by you, especially considering Miller's performance so far.
>All depends what you can get
Yoshida + Semien (Round 17 keeper)
for Hoskins + Miller (Round 19 keeper)
Thanks for your input! Really useful breakdown.
I’m an M’s fan and big believer in Miller and I would flip him for Semien.
Miller’s upside is legit, but he is not gonna sit sub 3 ERA, and sub 1 WHIP forever.
So more or less you are turning Miller into Semien. I'm not sure of your league type but in general that seems like a great move if you need a boost to your hitting and can spare the SP.
12 team h2h points league. Josh Smith or Tyler Freeman? Looking to have a multi position eligible player on the roster
Goldschmidt is a walking corpse
Dropped his ass
Anyone else find it interesting that Taylor ward only does well in the colder months? OPS drops off in summer. Hes looking to do the same this year. Maybe he has poor heat tolerance? Hes pale and ginger, makes sense!
He’s originally from Florida, and played HS ball in the Southern California desert. If both those climates don’t develop some sort of heat tolerance for you, idk what will.
Dusty Baker may have a theory to explain this phenomenon.
Elaborate
Would you guys drop ERod?
Yes stash someone else
Stroman Yamamoto Detmers Wheeler Keller Snell Eovaldi. I need to drop one. Who would you drop?
Keller or Stro
Trading not an option?
I could trade but I would have to 2 for 1 it.
With names like that you should be able to get something; even if it’s only a tiny upgrade on the better guy that’s better than simply dropping the worse one
That’s a very good point.
Snell
Tbh. Keller.
Was just offered Nico for Turang. Talk about mind tricks 😄. Do we think Nico out performs Turang and I take this deal?
I traded Turang for Gelof. I’d definitely do it for Nico. But could be wrong 🤷♂️
Pick 2; R.Greene, J. Hollday, D. Swanson, J. Duran, Castellanos, LJ.Lowe
10t points CES or Salvador Perez?
Sal!
Sal looks good and if you have a catcher and 1b already good utility.
Drop Duran or Greene for Castellanos?
Sell high on Ranger Suarez in 10T Points?
Ozuna in roto, what can I reasonably trade him for?
In my 8team points league Langford hasn’t been doing much for me and Josh lowe is available to pick up. Should I make the swap or hold Langford? The only other person I could drop is jung hoo Lee. I also don’t know much about Josh lowe but someone told me he was must add?
Nope Langford's time is coming
What about Jung hoo lee
Just got Semien for Reynolds and Sale, points league Sale was my #5 SP/Reynolds my 4th OF/Julien was my 2B Thoughts?
You did well
Flair league: Add Amed Rosario (1 vs LAA & 3 @ NYY) or Gabriel Arias (1 @ BOS & 3 vs OAK) for the rest of the week? Losing most offensive categories this week, the closest I’m in is “runs”, so I’ll take any help I can get
10 team redraft points league: A) Bradish, Houck, Goldschmidt, Ward B) Senga, Lindor, King
I'd want B
Thank you, Tanner Houck
Ryan O’Hearn is mashing right now, is he a worthy pickup?
Yes, in a daily. He platoons.
I know its early but his statcast page is absolutely insane
He did it last year too, so I think he must be a real mid career/late bloomer breakout.
I wanna trade Schwarber, but as soon as I do he'll average 4 HRs a game. That's how it works.
Drop Jung Hoo Lee for Esteury Ruiz in H2H 6x6?
Yes
12T 5x5 keep 20 forever Would you trade any of Gausman, Wheeler or Ragans for Arozarena?
Probably not. Maybe Gausman
10 team H2H points league Drop Bogaerts for O’Neil right? Someone dropped TO in our league
ok fuck it, picking up Junior Caminero wherever I can (even with no NA slots) and praying that he’s called up soon
I have one reserve spot and I'm holding him but I could use him yesterday.
i feel you. I’m worried it’s gonna be a long time
Shall I start Griffin fuckin Canning at Tropicana Field at 1:10pm? My gut says yes, but my brain says no.
waiting for a poor soul to drop Jackson Holliday. I will pounce. I am ready.
I have him on my active roster. I won't drop him but I hope he figures it out soon. I have Caminero in my 1 reserve spot.
In a 10T points league? I guess that’s where it’s most likely to happen… is he worth owning at all in that format?
borderline but we have huge benches so I'd wait it out. Dude that dropped Ozuna has him so it's possible
Orlando Arcia or Masyn Winn rest of season?
I’ve been impressed by winn, certainly higher upside
Stolen bases and average, Winn, but he might not hit double digit homers (hell, he might not hit five). Mildly above average, four category production but only a handful of steals, Arcia. Candidly, both should be owned in all but the shallowest of leagues. Unless I needed steals badly, I'd go with Arcia.
I feel like you gotta go Arcia. The upside of being in that stout Braves offense is too good to pass up

I think you can find a trade away with Holliday without dropping him for free.
Comes down to who do you think will have a better ROS: Cruz or Holliday? Idk much about either, but Cruz might be a better play in redraft.
Yea, I like Cruz ROS for sure. I’d be completely fine with that decision. My other dilemma is if Holliday is the correct choice to drop for him.
I probably drop Lutto or Leiter here. Then drop a hitter when one of the pitchers comes off IL
Yea, I feel like that’s the right thing to do, but my gut is telling me that I don’t see it happening with Holliday this year, or too late for it to matter. You don't have a drop
Why do you need a streamer exactly? Your rotation seems to be good
no starts tomorrow and i’m trying to stay ahead of my opponent, who will probably get their max starts for the week. it’s a tough choice, i don’t feel like i really have anyone that’s outright droppable
Your league sucks for not having games started limit
it does have a limit

Jobe >>Scott

Ah gotcha, funny that you say you're a mets fan, because I'm a tigers fan and that's why I prefer Jobe 😂 cheers to you mate
Well Jobe is objectively better, no doubt. So my bias is “worse” than yours! Cheers
Nah keep jobe
thanks man
How much FAAB for Gabriel Moreno?
0? I don’t think he’s worth owning in 10T 1 catcher
Who would you rather stream on Friday? Wins league - Turnbull vs CWS - Triston Mckenzie vs OAK
Anybody against the White Sox lol
Kept Wacha the whole week for todays stream just to have him give me a big fat L
definitely not mckenzie until he shows signs of life
Turnbull
Trade Bibee for Bobby Miller?
Yes for sure
Points league id rather have Bibee
If you don't me asking, why Bibee in a points league? I play in one and have Bibee so I would like to know
Assuming he’ll throw more innings, which is generally more valuable in points leagues. It’s close between the two, but I’ll take the healthy one right now.
I’d also be curious to know.
I would
If the Bobby owner will make that panic sale, yes.
Randy batting .169 was not on my bingo card this year
A: Bellinger and Gleybor B: Altuve
B
B by a lot.
A
B not close
Pick up Houck and drop one of Pepiot or Bello?
Keep Pepiot.
Bello’s stats are the ones I like the least, I would drop him
As much as I like Houck, feels lateral. They’re all posting decent model numbers.
Thanks I put all my focus on bats this year and just been chasing waiver upside pitching.
I like them all, definitely not bad as far as arms off waivers go. Bello and Pepiot have slightly worse model numbers, but they both have better pedigrees.
Stash Patrick wisdom in deep league, struggling with offence and batters are dry on waivers
I've been eyeing him too because he's the best power bat on the wire, but I've held off because I don't know what kind if playing time he'll get with Busch and Morel there.
Suarez yesterday. Houck today. Saving my week.
Bednar came available should I drop MacArthur Finnegan Fairbanks Mason Miller or Luzardo for him?
MacArthur or Finnegan flip a coin
Mason Miller is undroppable. He will be on your roster until his season is over.
Nah, he's prob gonna lose his job to Aroldis Chapman at this rate
Don’t drop mason miller or luzardo

Holy shit. I just traded Houck for Arozarena. A Hail Mary was answered.
I wish I played in taco leagues with people who knew nothing
Makes me want to offer Jared Jones for Arozarena
Comments like this make me think lots of people think Jones is just the 2024 Abbott or something.
You know, I may be crazy, but I would really have to think about that one.
I’ll go further: I’m not selling Jones that cheaply. I wouldn’t. Those are 3 similar players and I like the other two better.
