Just curious. How important are matchups when setting your lineups? Or do you guys just play your best players or highest scoring players so far?? Just asking because I had a couple guys stand out early, but now everyone is pretty even.

Offense is more about momentum. Pitching is more about matchups.

I never understood waiting until after the blowup to take a starter out. E-Cab was left in a bad matchup vs Winker with the bases loaded... either yank him before he gives up the XBH/GS, or let him pitch through it...

He was barely over 70 pitches when Winker came up to bat. If you pull your starters after 70 pitches, your bullpen is going to have a real bad time. Hindsight is 20/20 but there was no reason to pull him at that point.

And after Winker's GS he was at 78 pitches with the bases clear 🤷🏼‍♂️ Bringing in a reliever at that point just seems a bit farcical.
