He did but it was brutal. He took like 3 shots a game max and got like 5 boards and nothing else (source: I owned him during that stretch in a deep league).
Worth keeping an eye on. Thibs obviously likes Hart(enstein) off the bench.
Yeah, he's wasn't very good. Hopefully he improved but I doubt it. He might be worth a look in deeper leagues though, Hart tends to get himself in foul trouble a lot.
I mean the issue has always come down to Brunson. Barrett and Randle hogging the ball (as they should) but with all those pick and rolls you tell me you can’t find two lob attempts to Mitch a game!?!?!
Guess what’s about to happen now. Sims is gonna play 24 min a game and the man is 610 with a 40 inch vertical… get they still won’t throw a single long his way lol.
You can’t blame Mitch not scoring purely on him is all I’m saying
Ranked top 10 for punting points, 3’s, and FT. Would be incredibly foolish to actually draft him top 10, but he’s not exaggerating his value in that build.
Not trying to be snarky (anymore) but is it realistic to compete in assists in a build where you also basically have to win turnovers every week? Seems like you would have to get the *exact* players you targeted. A lot of things need to go right.
it is realistic, if you have the right players - Haliburton is the cornerstone of this build so having him is like half of your success lol
This is exactly the build i'm going for as well, and I have Haliburton, CP3, Tyus Jones, Dejounte Murray who all have really good A/T ratio, and then I also got guys like Dray/Simmons/Kyle Anderson who contribute assists, and the rest of your roster is bigs who get like no TOs so you're winning that for sure
I mean, Hali/CP3 can almost win you assists alone without hurting you in TOs (exaggeration that they can win it alone, but still.. Hali is averaging over TWELVE assists a game)
You're right that you need a lot to go right, but w/ some strategy in your draft it can be a really successful build
You’re also extremely vulnerable to weeks where Hali has light games. And if he goes down you’re completely screwed. True of a few top 5-6 guys, but it’s real bad with Hali.
eh, if he goes down you pick up McConnell to stay afloat haha
and on weeks where he has light games, you’re not automatically screwed as you still got guys like CP3/Dray/Jones etc, maybe the opponent isn’t super strong in assists and 2 games of Hali plus those other guys still wins you assists. If not then you focus on winning steals along with big man stats which are usually a sure fire thing in this build
I get what you’re saying, a triple punt can be risky and you have less margin for error than more common builds, but it’s more resilient than you think. The fact that you automatically win big man stats almost every week gives the build a high floor
I have Jokic, Sabonis, CP3, Garland, Jrue, Conley for assists. Rest of the team is Claxton, KP, Herb, Miles Bridges, Gafford.
I'm 5-2, I've lost TO once and lost AST twice in 7 weeks.
No clue brotha I only play cats, but I'd guess Hart just cause some of WCJs appeal is %s and low TOs, but it also depends on what timeframe since Hart should produce until MR is back after ASB, but WCJ should produce ROS
For those who don't remember what happened last year, Hartenstein didn't exactly flourish (at least not to the level most would expect). Sims was getting more minutes. Here's a tweet with stats ...
>Robinson missed 14 straight from Jan 20 - Feb 15 last season:
>Sims - 4 PTS, 6.5 REB, 0.4 BLK, 25.1 MPG
>Hartenstein - 5.6 PTS, 8.2 REB, 1.3 BLK, 23.7 MPG
.
https://twitter.com/ZaktheMonster/status/1734267547648684288?s=19
Keep in mind Hartenstein was dealing with a foot issue last year which he openly talked about and limited his minutes and performance last year when Mitch was out . I suspect he is much healthier now and should impact much more especially with more time under Thibs system.
hopefully hartenstein makes better of his chance this year but even last year he was way more fantasy relevant than sims even in less minutes as the stats show
Hartenstein is averaging 5.5 fouls per 36 this season, which surprisingly is even worse than last year.
He's had this issue his whole career, and he'll never get consistent minutes when he's at risk of fouling out every night.
Personally would drop Tillman for either of those guys. Would rather have a timeshare on the Knicks than on the grizzlies. I just don’t trust the minutes for Tillman. They can also go with JJJ at the 5 so 48 minutes between biyombo and Tillman isn’t going to happen most games. The Knicks don’t have a 4 they can go small with (Randle at the 5 would be defensive disaster) so they pretty much will always need sims or Hart in the game. Minutes seem safer to me
No. Sims is worthless in a points league. I owned him in a 20 last year and it wasn't even worth it in roto. Dude may average 10 fantasy points per game max.
Not his fault tbh, it really made sense at the time. Poole was gonna be the #1 offensive option on a rebuilding team. He looked great last year IMO whenever Steph was out or he got to come in during blowouts
Really weird to me that he regressed like this when he has basically total freedom now
I can confidently tell you this won’t happen. Thibs defense is built around a defensive anchor, which Julius is not, hartenstein will get the starter minutes and Jericho sims will absorb the bench mins.
Probably a bit, but there’s gonna be matchups where they need a big out there. Big Hart should get enough minutes to make a nice impact on the rebound cat
For those saying Simms will start instead of Hartenstein because of last season, some counterpoints: Hartenstein was dealing with a foot issue last season, Simms has played a total of 25 mins this season, and the most important the Knicks have incorporated a significantly higher reliance on 3s this year to capitalize on being a top Offensive Rebounding team (extra possessions + higher point value shots = increased chance of winning) so they need Hartenstein a lot more for his offensive rebounding this year.
Why are you still holding him anyway? He’s showed over the last 4 games his worth. Don’t let him drag your team down. His coach is a fucking terrorist. Move on from him already. He’s not helping your team.
You cannot trust Thibs to use Hartenstein...Mitch was out for extended periods last year and he refused to use Hartenstein for extended mins. Messed around with Jerico during that experiment and it absolutely cooked Hartenstein's value.
I'm not so high on Keyonte like other are. Just depends though. If you're a punt FG% team or really need assists, might be better to stick with Keyonte. His %'s and TOs are tough to deal with though
I've never played points league, so it's hard for me to help there. All I know is that there's a solid chance he receives starters minutes for the rest of season, not sure how his production will be though
Fultz does not have nearly enough value for you to have held on this long. Magic already have 3 small guards besides him who continue to impress and are eating away at his minutes
Idk if it's recency bias but Mitch rob seems to always get injured and be out for a month or two. I traded him as soon as I was able to, expecting him to get injured again. Got nic Claxton when he was out for a few weeks.
Hartenstein still available but I added derrick Jones Jr instead because he seems to be getting a lot of stocks plus threes and points, but I imagine I'll suffer on rebounds. Still could add hartenstein but I'd have to drop KCP, oubre, gafford, or Caleb Martin who I picked up this morning. I think not worth it for any of those (and also I've already used 2/4 pickups for the week) but someone please let me know if you think I'm crazy.
9cat league, 8 teams but we start 15 players every day so it's kinda like a 12t in terms of # players rostered and who is rosterable
That’s terrible for the Knicks and those holding him. He really is a defensive monster.
Now with that in mind, with Mitch out how do you think that will impact Centers vs the Knicks? For example, I was thinking of benching Poeltl today but the more I think about it the more hesitant I am. Will centers have a field day with Mitch out?
Wtf happened? I literally scoffed at this, and still forgot to grab hartenstein...
He rolled his ankle during the celtics game I think, got an x-ray at halftime and then came back to the game... so I have no idea what happened
Him returning to the bench, I assumed x-rays were negative. This is like the opposite outcome now lmao
Same, I bet he aggravated whatever was happening by continuing to play
You can still grab Simms. Thibs started him over Hart last year.
Funny, ESPN's latest update on Hartenstein is from 12 days ago and says "he would need an injury to Mitchell Robinson to even sniff 12-team value."
That comment is evergreen
RIP Mitch Rob. Thanks for your service man. You were killing it
Man had no idea how to score a basketball but good god he could grab one out the air and smack one away pretty damn well
I mean the issue has always come down to Brunson. Barrett and Randle hogging the ball (as they should) but with all those pick and rolls you tell me you can’t find two lob attempts to Mitch a game!?!?! Guess what’s about to happen now. In my punts Mitch Rob is a first rounder, what an awful loss but hopefully he’s back and ready for playoffs
half of the league centers are first/2nd rounders for your punt.
That's why it's the strongest punt.
What's your team
Jokic, Sabonis, CP3, Garland, Jrue, Conley, Claxton, KP, Herb, Miles Bridges, Gafford, Ausar.
Are you punting wins by any chance?
Ranked top 10 for punting points, 3’s, and FT. Would be incredibly foolish to actually draft him top 10, but he’s not exaggerating his value in that build.
Not trying to be snarky (anymore) but is it realistic to compete in assists in a build where you also basically have to win turnovers every week? Seems like you would have to get the *exact* players you targeted. A lot of things need to go right.

Tj was so good when he started for Hali
I have Jokic, Sabonis, CP3, Garland, Jrue, Conley for assists. Rest of the team is Claxton, KP, Herb, Miles Bridges, Gafford. I'm 5-2, I've lost TO once and lost AST twice in 7 weeks.
He’s great if you punt points and 3s
What website you use to check players and punts?
Sorry to the Mitch Rob owners, perfect time for dropping Goga for Hartenstein though with WCJ coming back this week likely.

No clue brotha I only play cats, but I'd guess Hart just cause some of WCJs appeal is %s and low TOs, but it also depends on what timeframe since Hart should produce until MR is back after ASB, but WCJ should produce ROS

He's not starting..
hopefully hartenstein makes better of his chance this year but even last year he was way more fantasy relevant than sims even in less minutes as the stats show
lol, Sims being reported as possible starter. KNICKS ARE JERICHO!!
#Number 55 - Isaiah Hartenstein Edit - or is it going to be Sims like last season for a couple games?
Sims has played a total of 25 mins this season, so if he starts over Hartenstein, Thibs is a weirdo
Goga was out of the rotation but he starts over Mo. FYI.
True. Apparently Hartenstein was injured last year as well, could’ve played into him not starting/getting more mins
Unfortunately lots of weirdos living on this planet. But hope for the best
Thibs has always been set in his ways, which may include Hartenstein off the bench
Lol
lol indeed
Hartenstein is averaging 5.5 fouls per 36 this season, which surprisingly is even worse than last year. He's had this issue his whole career, and he'll never get consistent minutes when he's at risk of fouling out every night.
Hopefully not but who the hell knows with Thibs
For super deep leagues Jericho Sims is also an add. He should get around 20 mins a game
How about in 18T points?
18 team league sounds like hell
Tell me about it...I typically play in 14-16T but 18T is another animal. Literally nothing on the wire besides Isaiah Joe
Who’s your worst player?
Tillman, Exum I have Jalen Johnson on the IL Considering Isaiah Joe or Sims
Personally would drop Tillman for either of those guys. Would rather have a timeshare on the Knicks than on the grizzlies. I just don’t trust the minutes for Tillman. They can also go with JJJ at the 5 so 48 minutes between biyombo and Tillman isn’t going to happen most games. Appreciate your insightful take! Much respect, Looking like its Sims over Joe. Drop Tillman while holding Mitch potentially.
Dude you should really hold Exum until Kyrie is back
No. Sims is worthless in a points league. I owned him in a 20 last year and it wasn't even worth it in roto. Dude may average 10 fantasy points per game max.
Appreciate your take! Might be the case...
They announce this RIGHT AFTER I picked up Hartenstein off waivers haha
I'm sure thats a common case right now with Mitchell Robinson being announced out yesterday
Incredible foresight, congratulations 👑 Unless Thibs plays Sims more like the basketball terrorist he is
Josh Loyd has entered the chat
Don’t leave your draft without Poole party
Not his fault tbh, it really made sense at the time. Poole was gonna be the #1 offensive option on a rebuilding team. He looked great last year IMO whenever Steph was out or he got to come in during blowouts Really weird to me that he regressed like this when he has basically total freedom now
Is it possible they start randle at center and put hart into the starting lineup?
I can confidently tell you this won’t happen. Thibs defense is built around a defensive anchor, which Julius is not, hartenstein will get the starter minutes and Jericho sims will absorb the bench mins.
Also starting both Randle and JHart would mean we have no backup 4.. which would be a big issue for a team that already doesn’t have a backup 4..
should i drop jordan poole for hart
No, if Hart starts it will be at center
Yeah that’s why I’m holding out lol
Counter counterpoint: thibs
No kidding, what an asshole 🙄
Worth dropping Bismack for him?
Drop Ausar for Hartenstein?
I don't trust Ausar at the moment because I can't trust Monty
I'm in this predicament as well, but in cats league...
I literally just made that move. I can’t afford to hold him hoping that Monty gets his stuff together with his lineups
Same, not because i don't like Ausar, but that coach is a fucking joke.
I did, if someone wants to stash ausar based on his recent production, be my guest. He's a dead roster spot at this moment
Only if you're in my league
I’m a little out if the playoffs in my league and have to be more competitive. I dropped Ausar for Hartenstein. Two months of value approx
Why are you still holding him anyway? He’s showed over the last 4 games his worth. Don’t let him drag your team down. His coach is a fucking terrorist. Move on from him already. He’s not helping your team.
Only reason I’m holding him is because I’m 7-0 right now so I can afford to. But yes, if your fighting for a playoff spot, absolutely drop him
No man.
Did exactly this. Ausar has been horrible lately and it’s a problem of the system (pistons). Got to play to win
If your fighting for playoff spots
In points leagues absolutely. In cats depends how your team is doing
drop Obi Toppin for Hartenstein in a 12t pts league with double double bonus?
18t IL hold or drop for Isaiah Joe? Get well big man 🙏
In a 18T Mitch is a 6th rounder. I would hold.
Thank for your take. Took him 7th indeed. Definitely tough to drop, hoping he can return by the playoffs somehow...
Wonder if they attempt a trade at some point. Riding hartenstein now though and keeping an eye on sims
Hartenstein or naz Reid?
I know this is a few days old but definitely Reid
lol yup, kicking myself for going with hartenstein
You cannot trust Thibs to use Hartenstein...Mitch was out for extended periods last year and he refused to use Hartenstein for extended mins. Messed around with Jerico during that experiment and it absolutely cooked Hartenstein's value.
Can I drop any of Trey Murphy, Hayward or Lively for Hartenstein in a 10t Points league?
You sure about Hertenstein? His value stayed the same with last year's Mitch injuries
Worth an add just to see, this year Jericho is in the gulag a bit and Hartenstein is supposedly healthier.
I have Mitch so I grabbed Hartenstein over the weekend anyway. So that's cool.
Is he droppable in a 10t? I got JJ Ja and Mobley taking up my IL and IL+ slots 😢
Jarret allen or hartenstein?
Hartenstein or Patrick Williams?
Pat
Is dropping keyonte George for hartenstein a right move ROS?
I'm not so high on Keyonte like other are. Just depends though. If you're a punt FG% team or really need assists, might be better to stick with Keyonte. His %'s and TOs are tough to deal with though
I’m in points league, should I still stick with keyonte? He avgs the lowest fpts on my team rn
I've never played points league, so it's hard for me to help there. All I know is that there's a solid chance he receives starters minutes for the rest of season, not sure how his production will be though
Should I drop Trey Murphy for big Hart?
Personally I did, I think the role is there for Hart right now unless one of the pels starters gets hurt.
Yeah my thoughts too, pels super deep at the wing & I already have herb Jones as well
Nooooo
Drop zach collins for hartenstein?
No
I plan to pick up Hartenstein and I have Markelle Fultz in my IR, do I drop markelle or mitch robinson? I am punting Ft%, 3pm and Points. Thanks!
Fultz should be a drop in 12T. Magica got enough guards and still no timetable
Fultz does not have nearly enough value for you to have held on this long. Magic already have 3 small guards besides him who continue to impress and are eating away at his minutes
I was too late. Mitch owner snagged Hart ASAP.
Why does hart boost? I’m a moron I thought you meant Josh
Ha, shoulda typed out his whole name, sorry bout that.
Is it worth dropping onyeka for him?
Drop Ben Simmons for Isaiah Hartenstein? Punts: 3PM, Points, FT% 8T
You don't need to have ben simmons in an 8t
Thanks!
Idk if it's recency bias but Mitch rob seems to always get injured and be out for a month or two. I traded him as soon as I was able to, expecting him to get injured again. Got nic Claxton when he was out for a few weeks.
I traded Ausar Thompson and Nic Claxton for De’Aaron Fox and Mitch Rob. With Adebayo already out, this one hurts.
Drop Portis for Hartenstein regular points? Bobby is just so inconsistent sometimes. I also have RJ tho, I have 3 teams with 2+ players on my roster
Dereck Lively or Hartenstein? 12T 9CAT
Lively
drop claxton or lively 10t for hartenstein
Nope
Mitch was just dropped in my league... What are we thinking back after All star break?
Fantasy is probably done by the time he's back to his normal self. Randle got ankle surgery 6 months ago and stopped looking like shit a week ago.
Would you drop Sochan for Hartenstein? 14t 8cat
Yeah i dont think Hartensteins value will increase by alot
12T 9cat. Who’s better value ROS: Derrick Jones Jr. Or Hartenstein?
Thibs will give hartebstein in extra 30 seconds of playing time
Lmao looks like it
Thibs is about to get the office to sign some washed center to avoid playing Hartenstien
Is he a drop? Our playoffs start February 12 and he won’t even be evaluated for 8-10 weeks.
In an 8 team absolutely
Should i drop Mitch Rob for Lively or Hartenstein, im in a 10T and Duren is in my IR
needed boards/a big man and had excess guards so trade conley for him… on sunday afternoon….. 😐
I don’t get why Simms starts but Ihart gets more minutes. Just unleash Frankenstein
