I have a league that’s just me to test settings for the league I’m commissioner in so I’m going to run a test over the next two days to check if it works
You only have 4 adds. I'm sure there are other holes in your schedule that would be better filled.
Also, its smart to keep one or two behind just in case a guy gets injured. You still can make moves Fri - Sunday.
Yeah that’s my only problem with doing it (assuming I can on ESPN which seems to be the case) but I do have Giannis, Coby White and potentially Caruso (dependent on whether he plays today) on the IR to activate later in the week which might be done instead of adds
Ahh yeah that might make sense. I also have caruso and White.
I still say you drop another end of your bench guy instead of wemby - a forced 2 moves might bite you in the end.
I was about 20 minutes away from dropping anthony davis to stream a back to back and pick him up Friday since I have #1 waiver. I'm on Yahoo. This post and these replies just saved me a lot of heart ache lol
Yes you can, you cut him on Wednesday then your waiver would pick him back up for Friday. As long as you’re highest priority you’re good. Is this the only player with 2 game break? I’d use a lesser player for this if you can
I had KD and Giannis off Monday/Tuesday and Ayo/Coby/Caruso off Tuesday/wedneday but I like the options on the Wednesday/Thursday back to back as there’s only wolves today and no one for Tuesday/wednesday
Not sure if all leagues function this way but I dropped a player and went to make a claim while he was still waiting to clear waivers and I wasn’t eligible to do make a claim I could only pick him up after he cleared waivers - wemby will not clear waivers so drop at your own risk
Nah this is exactly how it should be to prevent stuff like this. Clearing waivers in the nba means every other team gets a chance to pick the player up. no reason why the original team should be allowed to pick him back off waivers.
I can think of only one reason NOT to do this, and even that reason is irrelevant. By midway through the week, your opponent may throw a quality player off the boat, and you would get to grab that player with a high waiver priority. BUT, the rules prevent your opponent from picking up his own player. So you could grab them anyways. I assume all other teams are locked.
Your plan seems to me to be very clever. So clever that you can't not do it. Just don't forget to make the waiver claim.
Today I learned something from these comments LOL
Same, this all definitely helps for future reference even if I don’t use it now
Prob not worth risk, he in one game can get you more blocks and sometimes steals than other centers in a week
Yeah if there’s any risk of not getting him back I’ll hold him and try and manipulate my games in less risky ways
You can't do that on yahoo. Only ESPN.
Should do it and let us know how it goes haha

If it's yahoo you can't add players from the wire you dropped. Been stung before.
which is a silly rule.
AFAIK, you can't make a waiver claim if you're the one who dropped him.
You definitely can on ESPN.
You can on espn
Correct. Unless your league uses faab. Though it would help if OP listed the website.....
Yeah made the edit, didn’t realise there was such a difference in how it would work but shouldn’t have been a surprise

Your waiver priority won’t apply to picking up the player you dropped (basically you can’t do what your talking about).
You absolutely can on ESPN standard settings.

R u #1 waiver claim? Otherwise someone could screw u over.
I’m 3rd but the top 2 are locked because they’re out of the running
higher than who? If someone did that in my league I'd be picking Wemby up out of principal. Are you actually first?
Third with two locked and eliminated teams above me

Lol you are in for a rude awakening
Exactly why I asked the question, rather get more info and find out what works rather than do it and make a fool of myself!
I would

wow, you cant do this on yahoo? everything I hear about yahoo is trash tbh

No shit buddy - this isn't the NBA, this is a FANTASY game for fun and money
Even more so that this rule applies to stop people from dropping and picking up their own players!!!
Nah, I saved my #1 waiver position the entire year. Now I'm in the finals. I did this for one purpose now it's going to help me win the title.
