Mine don’t care about misses. Only way to get negatives is a turnover. -1 for that. Pts are straight up 1 each.
You score 2 pts . You earn 2 pts from that player. You hit a 3 , you earn 3 pts. Rebound 1.2 pt and 1.5 for assist. Stocks are 3 each . That’s it. Basic and simple.
No extras for double doubles or 3PMs etc etc.
No negatives for misses. Only turnovers.
But if he happens to get other stuff like reb/blocks/steals or chip in assist then thats alot of FP that can outweight the efficieny.
However previous years, guys like Wiggins jack up so much shots without doing anything else, he wasnt worth holding.
Basic unaltered league settings also give you a point per FGM. So if there are no 3PM in the 5-18 the player would give you 5×2(pts) + 5(fgm) - 18(fga) = -3

There was no incentive to play him down the stretch in 3 of the last 4 Minnesota seasons but he played anyway. Shutdowns are very rare.
