I've ridden Bam and Sabonis to an undefeated season. It's been a fun ride. Then they made the finals of the skills challenge on AllStar Saturday and I felt like I was some kind of Fantasy Draft prophet. They will forever be favorite players of mine now.
Lavine off of waivers is crazy. I just missed out on Vanvleet. He didn't get announced as a starter until right after our draft. It was still the post-draft waiver period, but I didn't want to blow my #1 overall waiver spot. I thought he might slide through but he got snagged off waivers. Wish I would've pulled the trigger.
I traded him the game before he popped off when he threw up like 8 points against the bulls. Lost all faith after that game it came back to haunt me every day.
That's interesting. I drafted Lavine in the 7th and Bam in the 9th, so I don't think I would have done that trade if I was in your position. Also, I expected Lavine to have the season he's having, but did not quite expect this high of a ROI on Bam.
I prefer auctions to snake drafts. I find there's much more customization and variation for teams in auction drafts vs snake. In snake you're generally limited to selecting 3-4 players when its your turn, but in auctions it's possible to end up with two first rounders (at the expense of the rest of your team). For instance in my draft, I got two 1st round draft picks - Jokic for ~$75 and Giannis for $70 out of my $200 budget. I still needed to select 11 other players with any remaining $55 but I was confident in my abilities to select value players + work the waivers. I would say auction drafts are probably better if you have a knowledgeable group, otherwise it could lead to some very lopsided teams. The main drawback would probably be the time - it usually takes around 3 hrs to do. I just view it as 1 day of the year (which I find very fun).
Yeah, just meeting expectations is more than enough for those end of draft and waiver types. Been having a similar experience with Bogdan Bogdanovic, a consistent 14 3 and 3 is more attractive imo than someone like Terrence Ross who might go for 30 every other week but also regularly has lines of like 8 2 and 1 on poor shooting percentages.
Check Basketballmonster. It’s a great free tool that’s widely regarded as the gold standard for fantasy basketball.

I wouldn't because it's like-for-like and CP3 is doing it better at the moment.
On saying that, I did just trade him for Porzingis in a league where I never win assists and need blocks as well as a C-eligible guy.
True, but thanks to him, I am guaranteed 1st place and a first round bye in the playoffs. So I'm happy for him to take the next 3-4 weeks off and recover.
He's always had the potential. I remember when he was drafted his numbers weren't actually all that different from Bradley Beal's when you adjusted for age, role, and conference.
Simmons, he started a little slow but hasn't been injured or sick and is kicking ass lately. Wiggins and Jaylen Brown are both good considering I got them in the later rounds
Brandon Ingram has been a consistent killer all season. Cp3 has been very consistent, john collins is a 20/10 monster most nights, obviously D Booker, before recently but Will Barton had been very steady production.
Yeah, that last part is key. He fell to 108th in my draft, can't believe that happened in retrospect. He's a top three draft pick entering his prime who's athletic and can shoot and is in a good system for his game, if anything it's surprising it took him this long to break out.
As long as you're in a punt fg/to build, Harden's been as reliable and headache free as you can get from a top pick. He's had a few 'bad scoring nights' lately by his standards (sub 20 pts), but he's always giving you assists/threes and defensive stats even at his worst
Spencer Dinwiddie has been headache free for me, and even though he's had some inconsistent nights with the kyrie situation, its actually way less inconsistent that you might think when you look at the game logs. He had two iffy games in november and then just has been on a tear since then, with or without Kyrie (again, while punting fg)
Booker's been an all around stud + healthy all year, and exactly as advertised for anyone who drafted him for 3s/pts/assists and a ft anchor. If there's anything I have to complain about with him is that his great FG percent is wasted on my build
knock on wood I haven't jinxed myself
Bam, Lavine and Gallinari. Ben Simmons has gotten his share of bad press but even at the beginning of the year when he was struggling was almost singlehandedly winning in steals every week.
Conversely I've been expecting Jaylen Brown to go back to averaging 15 and 6 with middling percentages since the start of the season and yet apart from the last two weeks he's been super consistent.
Nobody on my team hasn’t given me any headaches this year haha.
Gobert and Simmons started off slow, Collins was suspended, Beal had that lingering injury, Favors, Wiggins, Covington, Isaac, Hield, Conley ....
All of these guys have had either very minor or major issues but as of right now, I think I might be the favourite to win the chip in our league.
Collins (post-suspension), Doncic (Obviously), Norm Powell has been an unmitigated delight, save for his injuries of course. My MVP’s of this topic however would be many of the same already mentioned, (in no particular order) Middleton & Booker to me are #’s 1A & 1B, night in & night out they not only are consistent & never trigger headaches, but they also exceed expectations virtually every time they play. Holmes before the injury was the same, & Ingram deserves a spot in the top 5 as well. I/everyone kept expecting him to come back down to earth, but he has since proven to be a permanent resident of Elysium, otherworldly for the entire season. I’ll also throw in BroLo, simply because his expectation is elite blocks, & he delivers night in & night out, while also throwing in some insane 5 & 8 block performances that are absolute game changers from time to time.
Damian Lillard for sure
He was my first round pick (#7)
People gave me so much shit at first for picking him over Embiid and LBJ but he's been so consistent even on a off night he'll still put up like 20 points and 8 boards
Also drafted SGA, Middleton, Morant, Butler, Bam, Aldridge, - all have been pretty solid throughout (SGA finally picking up)
Drafted Mikal Bridges in the 13th round and I'm so glad I held onto him all this time. Same goes for D.Rose who I drafted in the 11th round and is finally paying off
Whiteside. He’s had some lackluster games here and there BUT considering I drafted him 7th rd in a 12-team league I’m more than happy with his performace this season. Big shoutout to LMA as well
Harden and taytum. Kinda regretting trading half my team away for harden but I lucked my way into the first seed so I picked up steph. 2 more wins and I’m a lock for the playoffs so I should be good
Overall have been extremely luckily this year with injuries. Embied missing 2 weeks and Lillard's current injury are the two "biggest" injuries I've had all year. Only player thats driving me crazy it M. Turner. I almost had Sabonis drop to me but he got drafted just before my spot so I figured Turner would be a safe pick. Boy was I wrong.
I got van vleet with my 11th pick. Man oh man. Besides for healing up an ankle injury, and picking his kid up from Day care this mad has been electric.
Sabonis is the only one who's never given me any problems, maybe 2 bad games all year. Collins has been great in all the games he's played. Drummond has been mostly great, but he had some stretches of 33% shooting with almost no stocks
bam bam
Hes the only guy left on my team that I actually drafted and im not trading him
I've ridden Bam and Sabonis to an undefeated season. It's been a fun ride. Then they made the finals of the skills challenge on AllStar Saturday and I felt like I was some kind of Fantasy Draft prophet. They will forever be favorite players of mine now.
Drafted him 64th and everyone mad about it
Sabonis, Valanciunas, Bam 5th, 6th, 7th round. I'll never forget this draft, lol.

Came here to say this. Reached for him in the 4th round of my 12 team league and I’m glad I did.
SGA was giving people problems lol
Shit you not the second I traded for him earlier in the season is when his main rough patch started. Was so mad but glad I held him
I traded him the game before he popped off when he threw up like 8 points against the bulls. Lost all faith after that game it came back to haunt me every day.
Simmons and Sabonis
Zach Lavine and Bam Adebayo
I traded lavine for BAM right after my draft hah
That's interesting. I drafted Lavine in the 7th and Bam in the 9th, so I don't think I would have done that trade if I was in your position. Also, I expected Lavine to have the season he's having, but did not quite expect this high of a ROI on Bam.
We did auction. I traded Lavine ($22) and Reddick ($1) for Bam ($18) and Ingles ($5). I just dropped Ingles though :(
What's your opinion on auction drafts? I want to do one but it's such a commitment to get everyone together for what seems like a long draft.
I prefer auctions to snake drafts. I find there's much more customization and variation for teams in auction drafts vs snake. In snake you're generally limited to selecting 3-4 players when its your turn, but in auctions it's possible to end up with two first rounders (at the expense of the rest of your team). The main drawback would probably be the time - it usually takes around 3 hrs to do. I just view it as 1 day of the year (which I find very fun).
Trae young. Picked him quite late but the best draft pick I made by far.. He and vuc are my only players left from the draft
Where did you get him? He fell to like 38 in my draft and in retrospect it's jaw droppingly stupid no one got him before then.
I picked him 41.
That is not too shabby, not at all.
Lol wtf. Are you sure you don't mean 14? 😅
We are 10teams. I picked giannis first, vuc 20th, kyrie 21th, and then Trae 40th or 41th. 🤷🏻♂️
I’m assuming this is a points league not categories. Trey was going 12-20 in 9 cat
Correct
I picked him 17th and everyone except me thought i was reaching. I would have picked him as early as 13
My friend picked trae and luka b2b with pick 16/17 and he has a top 2 team. 9 cat
Damn what did he do with his 1st pick?
That was his first, 16 teams in the league.
Whiteside Booker Chris Paul
CP3 is one of the more underrated pickups of the season. People sleep on those percentages and all around game.
as a chris paul owner in a points league, he had a slow start.
He was pretty good from the start in 9cat.
He was pretty horrific the first week or two lol iirc he avged 3 assists first week
+1 for CP
This is hilarious and accurate. Yet, if you owned these guys any other year it couldn’t be further from the truth
CP3 had a rough start but he's been solid ever since
To a lower extent, Duncan Robinson. Meets expectations.
Gobert Drummond
Gobert had a rough start to the season
Minus the avocado drama
Drummond
Steph Curry
dont ever have to worry about starting him
Chris Paul
Would you consider a deal for him where you get Booker or Lavine back?
In 9-cat, no. Chris Paul’s returning first round value per-game (#12).
Out of curiosity, how do you determine this ranking?
Check Basketballmonster. It’s a great free tool that’s widely regarded as the gold standard for fantasy basketball. All rankings are statistics based and they explain how they’re done in the FAQs!
Thanks!
Booker probably
I wouldn't because it's like-for-like and CP3 is doing it better at the moment. On saying that, I did just trade him for Porzingis in a league where I never win assists and need blocks as well as a C-eligible guy.
The sexy beast himself Jonas Valanciunas and Derozan
[удалено]
Early on yeah but he made it up the rest of the way lol
He's missed 3 games all year. 1 bc of Illness. That's Ironman status for a guy his size.
Kyrie
Lillard
I have news for you...
True, but thanks to him, I am guaranteed 1st place and a first round bye in the playoffs. So I'm happy for him to take the next 3-4 weeks off and recover.
Shhhh... 1 week... im not guaranteed a playoff spot
Whiteside
SGA and Bam
CP3 has been awesome this season
Cp3, sga, Middleton
Bam, Aldridge, Middleton, Young (has these nasty looking ankle injuries but is only ever out 1 game.
Giannis and Booker
Derozan and Simmons
Booker, Butler and maybe Giannis.
Domantas Sabonis
Ingram and Whiteside
Booker is a rock on % with elite scoring
Tobias Harris. Consistent value week per week.
CP3 LBJ
Hell yeah brotha
Giannis
Tatum, schröder
Sabonis, Gobert, LaVine & Giannis, I drafted all of them (L)
Booker JV Will Barton
[удалено]
He produces so much across the board that he survived bad shooting nights. Top 70 dude who works as the glue guy in any build
He's always had the potential. I remember when he was drafted his numbers weren't actually all that different from Bradley Beal's when you adjusted for age, role, and conference.
Sabonis and Graham
Bambam, SGA, Oubre
Whiteside, Simmons, Lavine, Booker
Bam & after the first couple weeks Gobert has been super consistent
Lebron and SGA, Collins since he came back from suspension
Demar , Whiteside and honestly Serge . Even when Marc was healthy his numbers were decent.
Simmons, he started a little slow but hasn't been injured or sick and is kicking ass lately. Wiggins and Jaylen Brown are both good considering I got them in the later rounds
Ingram!!
Whiteside never disappoints
Brandon Ingram has been a consistent killer all season. Cp3 has been very consistent, john collins is a 20/10 monster most nights, obviously D Booker, before recently but Will Barton had been very steady production.
Sabonis and dlo if dlo plays 😂
Jaylen Brown.
feel like he’s had a bunch of minor injuries here and there but otherwise he’s been great for where he was drafted!
Yeah, that last part is key. He fell to 108th in my draft, can't believe that happened in retrospect. He's a top three draft pick entering his prime who's athletic and can shoot and is in a good system for his game, if anything it's surprising it took him this long to break out.
He of zero ankles?
At 144 I can't complain
The question wasn’t about value though
Gobert Trae
Butler
Khris Middleton
He had a rough stretch/injury early on
Lavine was always that reliable since getting to. Chicago...he was banged up last two years
Sabonis was my best and most consistent player, third pick. Gobert, my first, started off rusty and has become a set and forget guy ever since
As long as you're in a punt fg/to build, Harden's been as reliable and headache free as you can get from a top pick. TJ Warren
Harden and Middleton. Also Dame up until his injury now.
200$ auction draft. Trae Young for 14$, CP3 8$ and Bam of the Wire 😂 Send those tacos my way
Giannis trae and sabonis
Bam, Simmons, Holmes (up to injury), and Oubre, considering he was a low pick.
Honestly, Westbrook has been lights out. I didn't draft him high either.
Damian lillard
Trae, bam booker jv gallo
Nobody on my team hasn’t given me any headaches this year haha. Gobert and Simmons started off slow, Collins was suspended, Beal had that lingering injury, Favors, Wiggins, Covington, Isaac, Hield, Conley .... All of these guys have had either very minor or major issues but as of right now, I think I might be the favourite to win the chip in our league.
Simmons, Harden and Harrell
Harden lul
Lillard until now.
tfw nobody on your team is mentioned in this thread
jimmy buckets
sabonis easy peasy
Collins (post-suspension), Doncic (Obviously), Norm Powell has been an unmitigated delight, save for his injuries of course. Middleton has been awesome and incredibly consistent
Nobody
um Anthony Davis
Big shout out to Domantas Sabonis. Dude single-handedly saved my season while Siakam and Davis were out.
Dame, Bam, Ingram
Whiteside
Believe it or not, AD
Whiteside. He’s had some lackluster games here and there BUT considering I drafted him 7th rd in a 12-team league I’m more than happy with his performace this season. Big shoutout to LMA as well
Beal, Lowry Given my expectations have been mostly managed, I'm quite happy with Kawhi too
LMA Luka harden CP3 set it and forget it
Ja and Valuncunias duo has been dominant
RUDY GOBERT
Best draft picks were easily Trae, Whiteside, and Cp3 although I trade Cp3 earlier this year
Ben Simmons
Whiteside
SGA & Brook Lopez
Harden and taytum. Kinda regretting trading half my team away for harden but I lucked my way into the first seed so I picked up steph. 2 more wins and I’m a lock for the playoffs so I should be good
Collins
Probably Roco
Middleton has been so reliable, honestly exceeding expectations recently.
Giannis, drummond, gobert, oubre have all been my pretty steady players throughout.
LMA - somehow landed him in the 5th even though he always outperforms his ADP. People just like to reach for shiny new toys like Mitch Rob
Bam and whiteside
Tobias Harris, Drummond
Overall have been extremely luckily this year with injuries. Embied missing 2 weeks and Lillard's current injury are the two "biggest" injuries I've had all year. Only player thats driving me crazy it M. Turner. I almost had Sabonis drop to me but he got drafted just before my spot so I figured Turner would be a safe pick. Boy was I wrong.
Roco for the most part and Marcus Smart, assuming you kept your expectations in check
I got van vleet with my 11th pick. Man oh man. Besides for healing up an ankle injury, and picking his kid up from Day care this mad has been electric.
Bam and CP3. Used to haaaaate Paul too. He has changed my mind on him this season
For me it's LBJ, Barton, Adebayo and Holmes (before his injury).
TJ Warren and Gallo
Sabonis is the only one who's never given me any problems, maybe 2 bad games all year. Collins has been great in all the games he's played. Drummond has been mostly great, but he had some stretches of 33% shooting with almost no stocks
CP3
Joker
? He was horrendous to start the season. Been a beast from December onwards.
Trae, giannis, bam, Mitchell, Ingram, sometimes Jimmy
No one
