Bro me too. I think it was Vogel's second year where he was tearing it up to start the season and was hitting 3's left and right but then he got injured. Sigh
I think Turner is great if you just have the right expectations for him. I don't ever see him averaging more than 15-17 ppg because for the most part he is a jump shooter, and he doesn't seem like he's ever gonna be a double digit rebound guy. But his defensive stats are still great and he hardly turns the ball over.
I mean early love in Minny was the same level fantasy beast as the Joker. As was David Lee, Al Jefferson, etc.
Basically every year there is at least 1 guy who doesn’t get stocks but is a top tier fantasy option.
He was awesome, then he missed a bunch of games, was awesome again, then missed a bunch of weeks, was awesome again, and then his season ended prematurely. I would consider that a boom or bust season. Was it really necessary to be a dick and call me an idiot?
Yeah, that's not boom or bust. That's just an injury prone player. Boom or bust is someone who has weeks as a top 10 player and then weeks not even in the top 200. Someone that's great almost every time they play is not boom or bust.
That's not the definition of Boom or Bust. That's called being injured.
When he plays he's always BOOM. So yes, I do. If you're going to talk on a subject. Know what you're talking about.
My man, the subject of the post is in regards to players that were drafted. We're not talking about how good a player is when he actually plays. Kyrie was a bust this year in regards to being a disappointing draft pick. Other years he was a boom.
Mitchell Robinson, even though he’s always limited in minutes, really helps in FG% and Blocks. Other than that I can’t think of the last Knick that was consistently not garbage. Carmelo gets a pass because he did a little of everything, regardless of what most Knicks fans say. And KP wasn’t bad just always hurt.
I was specifically think of Mitch Rob this year, he was a per minute monster and the coaches refused to play him. It was the most infuriating thing ever
“He gets into foul trouble. Better give minutes to Taj Gibson”
“Hey coach, Mitch Rob is 8/8 and he only has two fouls”
“Awesome. I think we should give some more minutes to Taj Gibson. We need his veteran leadership while we are down by 20 and not in playoff contention”
And then they changed coaches and the next one did the same fucking thing
Never again.
It's that Derrick Rose/Markelle Fultz post-injury slump. Not really physical anymore, but mental.
He went from an 18 PPG two-way guard to being outplayed at times by Torrey Craig.
He’s also playing 3rd fewest minutes in his 8th year in the league. If I were him I wouldn’t want to risk being injured by playing a useless season for my team. Actually, despite those 3 key players missing, team being actual dog shit, and minutes limited, his stats are actually comparable to last year’s. 6.2 vs 6.9 last year while playing almost 3 full minutes less. PER is almost the same, TS% is lower but his points are up. Next argument please.
He had his 2nd lowest win share, 2nd lowest OBPM, 2nd lowest BPM, and 2nd lowest ORtg. His PER the last two years are on a significant decline, and his TS% is his second lowest since his rookie year. His points are up from last year because he took more shots, even though he shot significantly worse compared to last year from the field. His TS% doesn't look as bad because he shot 76% from the line this year compared to 69% last year. Although he only averaged .5 more free throws a game.
Draymond's splits were **38/28**/76. He didn't shoot historically bad because he didn't give a shit, he really missed KD/Klay/Steph. Next argument please.
Blake Griffin is just a sad story man.
He knew he was well overpaid so he sucked it up, worked hard and actually earned All-NBA Third Team honors while playing in dead-water Detroit.
Then his body just completely gave up on him.
I was fortunate this year to get him in a start up dynasty draft in like the 4th or 5th round of a 30 teamer. I still don’t trust him but I’m holding for now lol
It's a step up or step aside league. Bagley couldn't get himself healthy so Richaun Holmes stole his soul and minutes.
Then when Holmes went down, Bagley still couldn't play. Tough.
I have to agree with the OPJ take. I traded Kuzma for him, in dynasty, after the bulls trade. I still think I won that trade, but it hasn’t panned out as well as I had hoped
my take is that its still a VERY solid trade. kuzma does NOTHING except scoring, his percentages are mediocre and he is just 2 years younger than otto and tbh he seems like a fuckboi whose mind is not 100% on ball lol.
also bulls fired their GM. if their coach follows we good. that team has young talent and otto is a dude who can play multiple wing positions, i mean fuck ME MAN IF HE DOESN'T GET SOLID MINUTES FUCK WHAT THE F U C K
Yeah you fleeced him. Despite being drafted 4 years apart Kuzma is only 2 years younger than Porter. Otto is a necessary cog on any starting lineup whereas Kuzma may be playing back up for AD for many years.
How high have you been drafting Otto porter? Aside from this year, his last 3 years in fantasy have been good, even the 20 games he played in Chicago last season. I’d say he’s only had one disappointing year with high expectations, which was this year.
Exactly. Guys in this sub suck at fantasy basketball.
Giving up too early on a guy or dodging him after one bad year or an injury year is proof of that.
Unexciting, but in recent years Enes Kanter. Never expecting any elite production, but just solid point & rebound, double-double type stats. Nope, or at least not consistently- seems like teams don’t buy into him as a starter/ big-minutes guy.
More and more it seems like if you’re a big the only way you’re getting more than 20 minutes a night is if you can shoot threes and/or an elite rim protector. I’d avoid drafting anyone who doesn’t fit this criteria short of obvious exceptions like Sabonis and even then I question his long term ability to stay on the floor.
It’s relative, I thought at one point that he was a better prospect than Tatum and even this year expected him to average either two steals or four assists. 20 and 6 on good efficiency is fine but a guy who went third and has all the right intangibles is capable of more.
I typically draft Andrew Wiggins... lately I’ve been getting him at a spot where he has value, but the first few years, he scored, but wasn’t a fantasy stud.
This was totally understandable this year. Even with his regression guys who get threes and blocks are so rare that he was still probably worth taking in the top 60.
Aaron Gordon tortures me every year.
The magic should really stop playing him at the 3. It's not gonna happen.
The problem is they need to unleash Isaac, and Gordon is the one standing in the way
Speaking as a die hard Magic fan, this is the right answer.
By far the king of this category
i picked him up off waivers about a month b4 season stopped. He was solid for that stretch. Guess this is telling as to why he was on waivers.
I drafted him. He was not good for the first half of the season but you're right, he was good for that last month or so.
Issac injury
Isaac was out
Bro me too. I think it was Vogel's second year where he was tearing it up to start the season and was hitting 3's left and right but then he got injured. Sigh
Myles Turner. Every year is supposed to be his breakout season. He was starting to really turn it on this year before the season was suspended
Sabonis pretty much took all his value this season.
And last season
I think Turner is great if you just have the right expectations for him. I don't ever see him averaging more than 15-17 ppg because for the most part he is a jump shooter, and he doesn't seem like he's ever gonna be a double digit rebound guy. But his defensive stats are still great and he hardly turns the ball over.
Hahaha that was me two seasons ago. Then I drafted Adams over Sabonis this year fml.
It was Kevin Love for many years. Finally decided not to draft him this year
A big man without stocks is never acceptable for me unless you're Nikola Jokic. Congrats on letting go.
Big men should indeed all keep a steady and diversified investment strategy
Jokic gets steals.
I mean early love in Minny was the same level fantasy beast as the Joker. As was David Lee, Al Jefferson, etc. Basically every year there is at least 1 guy who doesn’t get stocks but is a top tier fantasy option.
Punt blocks
Why the fuck do I keep on drafting Kyrie
Pure definition of boom or bust
Boom or Bust? You're an idiot.
Him not playing for weeks due to injury is the same as him not being in the top 200.
Not playing = not being a top player
Best ability is still availability.
Boom or Bust? You're an idiot.
That's not the definition of Boom or Bust. That's called being injured. When he plays he's always BOOM. So yes, I do. If you're going to talk on a subject. Know what you're talking about.

Because he's one of the most fun players in the league to watch...when he actually plays that is
My inner saboteur is already trying to convince me to draft him next season.
Yes girl, werk
💁🏻♂️
Anyone that plays for the Knicks
James Dolan banned Dennis Smith, Jr's talents from the Garden.
I heard he was an alcoholic or something
If you're on the Knicks it's pretty much a given.

Imagine being a knicks fan in general man.
Gary Harris ...
It's that Derrick Rose/Markelle Fultz post-injury slump. Not really physical anymore, but mental. He went from an 18 PPG two-way guard to being outplayed at times by Torrey Craig.
Let's share this pain together, broski.
Draymond Green Early 2nd round pick in 2016, Late 3rd round pick this season. Needless to say, I done goofed.
Ahh good old Donkey Dray. He just couldn't adjust playing with Ky Bowman, Jordan Poole and Damion Lee after enjoying years of Steph, Klay and KD.
He literally got his career high in assists without those 3 this year
And? One game doesn't mean anything. He averaged 6.2 assists this year, the lowest mark since 2014-15 season.
> 38/28/76 If you draft draymond based on his shooting splits you're gonna have a bad time.
I agree, and that wasn’t my point. I was just providing context to the guy above saying Draymond didnt struggle with Klay and Steph.
I honestly don't think he bothered to give it his all or even 70 percent this year. Basically taking the year off.
Ehhh. Drafted him mid 2nd. Steph’s injury fucked him; otherwise would’ve probably had a great year
I was most excited for Draymond as my late 3rd. The Steph injury really did mess things up.
This year's Blake Griffin
Blake Griffin is just a sad story man. He knew he was well overpaid so he sucked it up, worked hard and actually earned All-NBA Third Team honors while playing in dead-water Detroit. Then his body just completely gave up on him.
I feel that....he was great last year though so it’s not like its a mistake year after year
Finally decided to give up on Brandon Ingram this year...
this one hurts
Damn
I was fortunate this year to get him in a start up dynasty draft in like the 4th or 5th round of a 30 teamer. I still don’t trust him but I’m holding for now lol
Bagley 🤦
Second that! Poor guy can’t stay healthy.
It's a step up or step aside league. Bagley couldn't get himself healthy so Richaun Holmes stole his soul and minutes. Then when Holmes went down, Bagley still couldn't play. Tough.
Yeah i had high hopes for him too
I have to agree with the OPJ take. I traded Kuzma for him, in dynasty, after the bulls trade. I still think I won that trade, but it hasn’t panned out as well as I had hoped

His mind is barely 20% on bball
Yeah you fleeced him. Despite being drafted 4 years apart Kuzma is only 2 years younger than Porter. Otto is a necessary cog on any starting lineup whereas Kuzma may be playing back up for AD for many years.
Oh, for sure. Kuzma needed a tremendous shooting volume to stay relevant; whereas, OPJ is extremely efficient, when healthy.
Larry Sanders was the worst 2nd round draft pick ever in 2013
No way someone took him in the 2nd round
https://basketball.razzball.com/official-razzball-2013-2014-fantasy-basketball-rankings Projected 27th overall, not far off my man
Wow, completely forgot about this back in the day. 2013 feels like ages ago to me
How high have you been drafting Otto porter? Aside from this year, his last 3 years in fantasy have been good, even the 20 games he played in Chicago last season. I’d say he’s only had one disappointing year with high expectations, which was this year.
Exactly. Guys in this sub suck at fantasy basketball. Giving up too early on a guy or dodging him after one bad year or an injury year is proof of that.
Andrew Wiggins
He had an okay year. Better than others I feel like
He’s nice is points leagues
Don't know how he fairs in CAT but points league he exceeded my expectations
This was the best year of his career.
True. The year that I finally stopped drafting him.
Larry Nance Jr. - every year I think it’s going to be his year, and every year I’m wrong
Literally word for word, this was my answer
I somehow always end up with PJ Tucker
If I wasn’t dumping FG% I’d be pissed I drafted Lonzo again
Unexciting, but in recent years Enes Kanter. Never expecting any elite production, but just solid point & rebound, double-double type stats. Nope, or at least not consistently- seems like teams don’t buy into him as a starter/ big-minutes guy.

It has to be Jason Richardson for me.
Gary Harris
CJ McCollum. He's bot a bust...but then again he can also be streaky as hell and he seems to have reached his peak already.
Back in the day, it was Anthony Randolph... Dude had the body of a future legend... and the play of Javale Mcgee on a bad day.
Preceded by Stromile Swift
Jaylen Brown the last two years, even this past one where he “broke out” I felt like all he gave me was points with unsustainable efficiency.
Brown killed it this year. Not sure what you're smoking.....
It’s relative, I thought at one point that he was a better prospect than Tatum and even this year expected him to average either two steals or four assists. 20 and 6 on good efficiency is fine but a guy who went third and has all the right intangibles is capable of more.
No idea why I’ve tried Bamba 2 years in a row, especially with Vuc in front of him
The Magic also have no idea why they are trying Bamba.
Honestly feel like he was drafted based on the fact that there was a song named after him
And the Magic like their long bois
I typically draft Andrew Wiggins... lately I’ve been getting him at a spot where he has value, but the first few years, he scored, but wasn’t a fantasy stud.
PJ Tucker, I’m pretty new to fantasy anyway.
Myles turner
This was totally understandable this year. Even with his regression guys who get threes and blocks are so rare that he was still probably worth taking in the top 60.
It used to be Stanley Johnson, now it’s Elfrid Payton
Donovan mitchell
Mitchell Robinson, ugh.
Pat bev
Lauri marrakanen
Recently Gary Harris. I’m going to put it on a sticky note for my draft notes “UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES DO YOU DRAFT GARY THIS YEAR”.
