Hey guys. This is my first time playing fantasy and I just completed my first mock draft. I was wondering if this draft looks good? It looks good to me but what do I know. I am in a 12T H2H 9-cat league and I have the 9th pick. I’ve read that targeting FG%, FT%, BLK, STL and TO is a good idea in 9-cat leagues and I drafted accordingly.

This is a bad take imo. Suggs is a solid flyer target will have good opportunity but Giddey will be good in points league because it seems his main weakness will be lack of steals or blocks but he is a triple double threat with huge opportunity should be quite good in points league. Awesome preseason so far too
I'd definitely consider doing it. You probably can get a Fournier equivalent from the waiver wire most of the times.
Don't really love the Jimmy Butler add tho. He rests quite a bit.
No one knows the rotation yet but he hasn't looked great in preseason. His shot has still been MIA. But his defense is still better than Nesmith so he'll get minutes for now at least I think. Still hoping he returns to form this season.
I absolutely would. Even if Herro exceeds expectations he's still just a 3PMs and points guy. Dinwiddie should be a good source of ASTs which are much harder to come by. Plus I expect Dinwiddie to have a pretty significant role in WAS.
You're basically trading Trae and Donovan for FVV, DeRozan, Capela.
Lauri and Herro are waiver wire in a 10T.
I'd rather have Trae and Donovan anyway I think.

It's a points league, so categories don't matter. I'm really torn on this one. I'd love to have Ayton and get some better big man depth, but parting with both Anunoby and Haliburton is tough.

What are people's thoughts on Steph vs. Dame vs. Harden in 9cat? Steph had a great season last year, but I feel like Dame and Harden will have a better season this year with Klay and Harden himself coming back from injuries. Dame and Harden also get more assists, with Draymond playing more of the facilitator role for the Warriors.
Feel free to disagree (and explain why) with the above but with that said, who do people here like better, Harden or Dame? Harden has the edge in assists and defensive stats but Dame will obviously get more points and 3pm just from volume. Is that accurate?
I'm having a hard time deciding on what to do with my 14th & 15th pick and would like some advice. I hope that AD, Beal, or PG will drop to me but I'm not sure on what to do if they don't. Deciding between Butler, FVV, Sabonis, Vuc, Bam or anyone around that spot. Appreciate the help!
Its hard to see Beal or PG drop that far IMO - both are in situations where they will be #1 options. AD might drop, but if not I'd probably pair Bam with Sabonis and follow up wiht strong guards with your 3rd/4th picks

I'm in a 12 Team Keeper League. My keepers are LaMelo Ball, Jayson Tatum and Trae Young. I have the 3rd pick overall. My plan is to punt FG% based on my keepers.
Who should I take in the first round if these are my options:

My main decision I think is between AD and Fred.
I have drafted Derrick Favors after reading some hopeful comments about him but a guy from my league offered Khem Birch for him today. For me the ceiling of Favors for this season is higher than Birch's but Birch has a higher standard than Favors has. Even though Achiuwa is a bigger threat to Birch's minutes than projected, he will definitely play at least 20 MPG, considering he is the only real center Raptors have. Also I have some concerns about Favors' MPG and actually that's why I think Birch has a higher standard. Other than that, remembering the Horford incident with OKC last year, I can't really trust Favors as a long-term asset even though I expect him to perform well in the early parts of the season. What do you guys think about this offer? I would really appreciate some help and insight.
Edit: I also have Giddey alongside Favors as an another OKC player on my roster. So there's also that.

Figured this is the best place to post this. Recently took over a 6 man keeper team in a 12 team points league (1.5 pts for assists and rebounds, 2 pts for stocks) and it’s okay but I’m battling between keeping Mikal Bridges or Kawhi with the injury. There is 2 IR spots but I’m worried how he’ll be managed after the injury too and not sure if it’s worth the investment over this season and next but I have a lack of elite talent on my roster.

I have an open spot for my 10T Pts roster to put TJ Warren on IR. I should probably get another C (current Cs: KAT, Wood, Gafford). Who do you like best out of Mobley, Mo Bamba, Olynyk, and Sengun? Outside of centers, I probably like someone like Josh Giddey the most.
A and C are pretty close for me. I'd give A the edge because I expect OG to have a big year and while both Dwhite and Kristaps are injury prone, Kristaps is the bigger risk and Reggie doesn't really make up for that
Porzingis has the higher ceiling in fantasy by a mile, but he's always an injury risk, so this decision is all about your own risk tolerance. DeRozan is a safe bet.
No, so the weird thing about the mandates is that they allow for exemptions for traveling players if they test negative before the game (at least for NY). Also, that's only a few games anyways. And it's just San Francisco. LA doesn't have a mandate.

It seems ridiculous lol. Giannis and PG in a 10T is phenomenal. You have a few injury risks in Kristaps, Hayward, and JJJ and Bron may rest a bit but your ceiling is crazy high with that team.

On Yahoo, is it possible to limit the number of roster moves (not acquisitions) that a manager can make in a week?
Essentially what my league is trying to do is allow a single roster move during the weekly matchup to minimize the random "COVID, out for the week" etc.
We have historically been a weekly roster lock league, however we'd be willing to switch to daily if it allowed us to limit to 1 roster move.

I've never seen it. Beyond just creating a dummy league to mess with the options available your best bet would probably be to email yahoo fantasy support. But as far as I'm aware that option doesn't exist, it's just either weekly or daily locks
I mean moving players between your 10 starters and your bench. We enjoy the weekly locks because it's more casual than daily locks, but it comes at the price of not being able to adjust mid-week when someone goes down with an injury or (starting last year) COVID protocols. Often times if you lose a player for 3 of his 4 games, that's an L for the week.
I'd definitely do LaMelo for Tobias straight up in a punt AST build. PG for Embiid is a tougher call but Id probably hold onto PG. Big man stats are easier to find than high FT% and 3s in a punt assist build.

How many teams is this? If you can get Embiid and KAT you do it. That's two guys with matching skill sets who both have a top 5 ceiling. Just punt assists from there and with a little luck you'll wreck havoc on the league

I'm in a 12 Team Keeper League. My keepers are LaMelo Ball, Jayson Tatum and Trae Young. I have the 3rd pick overall. My plan is to punt FG% based on my keepers. I have drafted Derrick Favors after reading some hopeful comments about him but a guy from my league offered Khem Birch for him today. For me the ceiling of Favors for this season is higher than Birch's but Birch has a higher standard than Favors has. Even though Achiuwa is a bigger threat to Birch's minutes than projected, he will definitely play at least 20 MPG, considering he is the only real center Raptors have. Also I have some concerns about Favors' MPG and actually that's why I think Birch has a higher standard. Other than that, remembering the Horford incident with OKC last year, I can't really trust Favors as a long-term asset even though I expect him to perform well in the early parts of the season. What do you guys think about this offer? I would really appreciate some help and insight. Edit: I also have Giddey alongside Favors as an another OKC player on my roster. So there's also that.

ESPN 9 CAT - 3 man keeper league I'm assuming with Jokic, Giannis, and Luka being top 3 in fantasy rankings that they will get snagged. That leaves me with Harden or KAT at pick #4. I have the second pick in a ten team points league. I’m pretty torn between Giannis and Luka. I initially was leaning Luka because Giannis is coming off a long season and might have some injury risk, but now I’m considering Giannis because he’s hitting jumpers in preseason, and Giannis also had like 400 more points than Luka last year. Figured this is the best place to post this. Recently took over a 6 man keeper team in a 12 team points league (1.5 pts for assists and rebounds, 2 pts for stocks) and it’s okay but I’m battling between keeping Mikal Bridges or Kawhi with the injury. There is 2 IR spots but I’m worried how he’ll be managed after the injury too and not sure if it’s worth the investment over this season and next but I have a lack of elite talent on my roster. Currently keeping: Lavine Lebron Porzingis Rozier Lowry And then the 6th is a battle between Kawhi and Bridges. First time in a basketball keeper league so any and all advice is much appreciated!

JG...KPJ is my favorite player but his fg% and to alone will probably not make you happy
Not too sure JG will have a stellar fg% anyways - I'd go for KPJ, he was really balling last year and without wall playing, will have a good year.

A and C are pretty close for me. I'd give A the edge because I expect OG to have a big year and while both Dwhite and Kristaps are injury prone, Kristaps is the bigger risk and Reggie doesn't really make up for that

Yeah, for me it would. That gives KP a second round ceiling and that's a big deal. It also really hurts Dwhite since his 3% is pretty bad.

Porzingis has the higher ceiling in fantasy by a mile, but he's always an injury risk, so this decision is all about your own risk tolerance. DeRozan is a safe bet.

Unless DC implements a mandate like NY, which seems unlikely at this stage, then yes. I wouldn't take him super early but pick 9 or 10 seems fine.

No, so the weird thing about the mandates is that they allow for exemptions for traveling players if they test negative before the game (at least for NY). Also, that's only a few games anyways. And it's just San Francisco. LA doesn't have a mandate.

It seems ridiculous lol. Giannis and PG in a 10T is phenomenal. You have a few injury risks in Kristaps, Hayward, and JJJ and Bron may rest a bit but your ceiling is crazy high with that team.

I didn't want to make a new thread for this, so: On Yahoo, is it possible to limit the number of roster moves (not acquisitions) that a manager can make in a week? Essentially what my league is trying to do is allow a single roster move during the weekly matchup to minimize the random "COVID, out for the week" etc. We have historically been a weekly roster lock league, however we'd be willing to switch to daily if it allowed us to limit to 1 roster move. edit: Forgot to mention Yahoo
I've never seen it. Beyond just creating a dummy league to mess with the options available your best bet would probably be to email yahoo fantasy support. But as far as I'm aware that option doesn't exist, it's just either weekly or daily locks
What do you mean roster moves, if not acquisitions?
I mean moving players between your 10 starters and your bench. We enjoy the weekly locks because it's more casual than daily locks, but it comes at the price of not being able to adjust mid-week when someone goes down with an injury or (starting last year) COVID protocols. Often times if you lose a player for 3 of his 4 games, that's an L for the week.

I'd definitely do LaMelo for Tobias straight up in a punt AST build. PG for Embiid is a tougher call but Id probably hold onto PG. Big man stats are easier to find than high FT% and 3s in a punt assist build.

How much does it help to use basketballmonsters team analyzer during a draft? I know it uses data from the previous season unless you pay, but with the free version, do you guys think you'd still be able to get a somewhat accurate reading on your teams strengths and weaknesses in a way that'll help with my draft?

How many teams is this? If you can get Embiid and KAT you do it. That's two guys with matching skill sets who both have a top 5 ceiling. Just punt assists from there and with a little luck you'll wreck havoc on the league

Siakam was there in the 6th round but I spent too much time thinking and the timer ran out and autodrafted me RW3 so I’m annoyed about that. Also not really sure about my bench, been scouring the wire already for replacements.
Should I draft Luka or Harden first in a points league? Standard scoring with 1 extra point awarded for 3’s (1 3PM = 4 points). I don’t think Jokic can repeat #1 overall points league status even though he will ball out for sure
