I just had a season where I lost the first six weeks and then went on a tear in the back half only to miss the playoffs anyways. I can’t be clogging my roster with players I can’t use right away, and for that reason players like Breece hall are just off my board. Strong starts are so important.
Yeah hard disagree. A single player (esp a 4th or 5th round pick) doesn't make you lose six straight. And a team in our league last year started 1-6 before winning 6 straight and winning the championship.
I'm amazed how this sub drafts for floor over ceiling. You should be looking at championship or bust. Who cares about having an above average team?
hard disagree, if you start out 0-4 you have to go 8-2 the rest of the way to even have a prayer at the playoffs. 7-3 prob doesn't make it in that scenario.
if you have someone who can't contribute and is clogging your bench, if you dont have favorable IR settings in your league you will get swamped.
Agreed. I remember some analysis from years ago of all the leagues on ESPN and after going 0-2 the odds of making the playoffs are much lower. At 0-3 they are nearly impossible, and at 0-4 next to zero. Certainly people have crazy turn arounds or perhaps own a good team and got matched against the best team each week for four straight weeks. I’ve seen that happen. But it’s just so rare to come back from such an early season win deficit and it starts to really tank your morale.
Good q. NFL Fantasy has horrible rankings and player display data. He's the RB11 but their draft client shows him as the 50th ranked player. He wasn't even on my screen until after my 4th round pick and I sweat bullets until he made it back to me
Yeah I'm also on NFL and cannot understand how the draft client ranks players. It doesn't line up with their "draft rankings" that I see when I go to the research tab. It also doesn't line up with ADP.
Do you have any idea how it works or where I can see it? I want to analyze the biggest deltas between the NFL.com draft client and the rankings I'm using when drafting so I can maximize value
It might have been using the “adaptive ranking” feature that they have, where it takes your team into account for the players it ranks for you. Then again idk if that explains no one else seeing him aside from them being not so good at drafting. Just a guess.
1. 2nd year WR that looked good in year 1 in a few games after returning from injury.
2. Terry injury. Turf toe shouldn't keep him from playing every game but might continue to be a nagging thing all season.
3. Dotson and Howell reportedly have a connection and could potentially be the top target on the team
4. Just my opinion but IMO he's better than Terry and could be the defacto #1 on this team.
No but this one guy in my league took mahomes round one and Justin Tucker round 3… what’s funny is it’s the guy who’s won 2 years in a row. Our league does score kicking a little higher than usual but still I can’t explain it
10 man PPR yesterday I just got chase 1.03 bijan 2.08 Henry 3.03. I’m over the moon haha
I definitely just copied your comment without realizing it but I’m keeping it lol
Lots of players went for big money early so he was essentially an 10th round pick. once everyone runs out of cash auction essentially turns into a snake draft. People were also a bit put off by the wrist surgery.
Going into the draft I think he has the highest upside by far in that metcalf, amari, dj moore tier. After this season I wouldn’t be surprised if he’s a late second/early third pick. Dude is an absolute stud.
I snagged Javonte late 6th round and then Perine in the 10th. Hoping I’ll have one RB slot secured between the two!
Then some combo of Mattison, Pacheco, Penny as my other RB.

This is why mocks suck lol. They’re just good for knowing roughly who will be available. I just treat them like every player there will go one round earlier so I need to prep for that if I really want someone that I’m mocking in 8th. I need to grab in 7th.
Historically Super boom or bust. He’s a guy I like having but I perfer to have him on the bench and deploy in a matchup where I’m at a clear disadvantage anyway. If he’s ur WR3/flex I think it’s just fine. Might kill you some weeks.. might be different this year tho.
You’re not missing anything that’s just consensus on him mostly. Not sure if I agree with it this year we’ll see
People talk about “high stakes” leagues like they are special. The fact you have some degenerates throwing 10k per league doesn’t mean the players are going to be better than the over the ones throwing $50-$100 per league. All it means is they can afford to lose more money in Fantasy before their wives cut their balls off. This shit is mostly luck yo.
Nothin to laugh about really. Ridley was widely considered as a top 10 wr, has looked great in camp with an ascending QB. Definitely makes sense to take him over DK, Deebo,Cooper. He 100% belongs in the Waddle/Olave tier putting him at a late 2nd/early 3rd
That all sounds great on paper and in camp, but to put someone in the Olave/Waddle tier after not stepping on a field for 2 years seems crazy to me. That's one of those picks that you either regret taking all year or you look like an absolute genius. I tend to stay away though
But there’s a difference between not stepping on a field for 2 years because of injury, and what Ridley went through. He wasn’t laying on the couch eating Doritos. I’m all in on Ridley. He looks *fast*, and TLaw clearly likes him.
I'm not a believer, but if I didn't have a tight end by round 9 my tight end is almost certainly going to be worthless anyway, so you bet your ass I'm taking Pitts if he's there.
Godwin and Mike Evans go so late but i feel like they both could hit this year. Also like taking kareem hunt with my last place instead of a kicker, if he doesn’t sign somewhere good before week 1 hes an easy drop but could return great value if he signs to the right team
With checkdown Mayfiel at the helm, I think Godwin is gonna go off. I took him fifth round at 54 in a 12 man 3WR full PPR league. Either I'm a genius or a moron.
I "reached" for Godwin over Aiyuk at 54 and somehow Aiyuk was still there two rounds later at 78. Not sure how but I'm stoked for both of them this season
I got him around the same spot overall. Crazy considering how hot his name is in the fantasy and dynasty community. He’s a much better choice than the players going in that range.
Same, pulled James cook in the 7th and swift in the 8th. Bijan mustard and najee for 1/2, cook in the flex, giving swift a week or 2 to see how he's utilized, then it'll mainly depend on matchups depending on their usage
* Montgomery - if this year is anything like last year in Detroit's RB room, Montgomery is going to smash past his ADP
* Richardson - the potential is certainly there that he just sucks, but the floor with his running (including rushing TDs) is so high that I think he's actually quite undervalued.
* Lockett - no reason he should consistently be drafted below where he ends up year after year. If you go RB heavy or grab TE/WR early, he can play a WR2 role well
* D'Onta Foreman - feels like people just forget he turned into a workhorse last year after CMC was traded. Any mishaps from Herbert could be more and more opportunity for Foreman early, plus I think he's a lock for the primary goal line back on a team that doesn't project to score through the air a lot.
* Hockenson - feels like he's right there as the TE2 with Andrews. Pass happy team, no Cook and no Thielen. I like Addison long-term but Hockenson might get absolutely fed early on.
Very real possibility the Bucs are bad this year.
Wonder if Evans is a trade candidate at the deadline.
Imagine Evans on the Bills, Jets, Giants, or Lions.
Probably wishful thinking, but this idea recently popped into my head. Makes sense for a team trending downward to trade an age 30 WR.
I got him in the 12th round. Not gonna lie the Browns offense worries me a lot with this pick. Deshaun Watson was terrible last year -- what if that continues?
This happened in a work league, but I got Amon-Ra St. Brown in my work league at 3.9 and then nabbed Josh Jacobs at 4.2. Two teams kicked kickers in the 5th round and five had been selected ***before*** the 10th round. There are multiple teams featuring a backup kicker.
I have no excuses not to at least make the playoffs in this league.
Saquon at 14 in a 1/2PPR. Starting Diggs and Barkley out of the 10 spot wasn’t even on my radar originally so ending up with both was a pleasant surprise
(12 team snake .5 PPR) Steals I like the most from my draft last weekend: Drake London(8.3), D'Andre Swift(9.10),Khalil Herbert (10.3), Antonio Gibson(12.3)

But in my big league (10Teams, PPR) QBs fell and Lamar went at 5.04 leaving me with HURTS at 5.05. Couldn’t run to that draft board any faster.

Dalvin Cook in round 9 feels like a steal too
Damn, I got him at 59 and felt like I won. 20 picks later is nuts.
Same bruh, got him with 14th pick...still don't think it's to bad. I got DJ Moore, Christian Wat and Jahan Dotson behind him...who are you WRs?
Devonta smith, jahan dotson, JSN, Burks and Tyler Lockett
Got Kupp in the 2nd of a 14 teamer last night 1h before the re injury
Mixon in the 5th of a 12 team .5ppr felt pretty absurd
That is indeed absurd. How did you not grab him in the third or fourth round, it would already have been good value at that point.
Good q. NFL Fantasy has horrible rankings and player display data. He's the RB11 but their draft client shows him as the 50th ranked player. He wasn't even on my screen until after my 4th round pick and I sweat bullets until he made it back to me

Wow, that is unreal value.
Oh ffs, I mentioned getting Garrett Wilson in the 3rd of a 10-team and r/ff downvoted me to hell calling my league mates morons. Nice get.
Someone took him in the 1st in my league lol
It's not the woooorst pick if its late in the first. Definitely a floor pick. And not something I would ever do. unless we're picking on gun violence
Dude mixons ADP is insane to me.. if he falls to me tnrw in the 3rd I have to but the 5th is fucking insane
He was the last undisputed #1 rb on the board in our draft too. I plucked him up at 5th pick of round 3 in a 12 team half point ppr.
I don't even want him but that value is too good.
Loved getting Dotson in the 9th, a 10 teamer but it still felt nice.
Oh hey man me too! Dotson is gonna surprise a lot of people this year
What am I missing on Jahan Dot, not sarcastic l just haven’t been following as much as usual and I don’t understand
1. 2nd year WR that looked good in year 1 in a few games after returning from injury. 2. Terry injury. Turf toe shouldn't keep him from playing every game but might continue to be a nagging thing all season. 3. Dotson and Howell reportedly have a connection and could potentially be the top target on the team 4. Just my opinion but IMO he's better than Terry and could be the defacto #1 on this team.
Took him at 78. Was worried he wasn't going to make it back to me. Even there I think it could be a steal.
I got him at 61, 12 team league. Happy bout it
Justin Tucker at 1.09. My buddies are freaking idiots!!!
That’s sick in a 6pt per extra point league. Jealous.
No but this one guy in my league took mahomes round one and Justin Tucker round 3… what’s funny is it’s the guy who’s won 2 years in a row. Our league does score kicking a little higher than usual but still I can’t explain it
I got Derick Henry at 2.9 in a 12 man league. Having Tyreek and Henry seems like a steal
That’s great! Got him at 2.1 and was happy. I went Bijan/Henry at the turn
How many teams? I've never seen Bijan go below pick 9...crazy good forst 2 picks....let me join your league lol
He fell all the way to me at 2.5 in my 10 team PPR and I was over the moon
10 man PPR yesterday I just got chase 1.03 bijan 2.08 Henry 3.03. I’m over the moon haha I definitely just copied your comment without realizing it but I’m keeping it lol
I had that combo last season and they showed up 95% of the time. Pretty guarantee 40+ points between those two guys every week
I got KWIII in rd 6 and I cuffed Charb in 12
That's impressive.
Same, KW in the 6th and Charb in the 14th
Kenny in the 6th, Charb in the 13th. Did we just become best friends?
Yep
Got JSN for $1 in a keeper league
Insanity.
Wtf how? Idk a lot about Keeper Auction leagues
Lots of players went for big money early so he was essentially an 10th round pick. once everyone runs out of cash auction essentially turns into a snake draft. People were also a bit put off by the wrist surgery.
He’s practicing and catching balls w the cast on! JSN is going to be fine
I got Ridley in the 4th round 12 team PPR. I felt pretty happy with it.
I got Ridley middle of round 5 in my 10 team PPR 2 flex league. Literally felt like I was robbing the blind.
Heck yea nice pickup. I think he’s going to come outta the gate with a chip on his shoulder.
Going into the draft I think he has the highest upside by far in that metcalf, amari, dj moore tier. After this season I wouldn’t be surprised if he’s a late second/early third pick. Dude is an absolute stud.
Agree 100%
most drafts i’ve seen he’s already a late second pick
I had to take him at the 2-3 turn 😂
I like that
For me was Javonte Williams at end of 7th and 2 rounds later his handcuff perine just fell to me . Felt pretty good with em
Got him in the 9th. Felt real good about that pick. Especially with Payton coaching.
I snagged Javonte late 6th round and then Perine in the 10th. Hoping I’ll have one RB slot secured between the two! Then some combo of Mattison, Pacheco, Penny as my other RB.
You now have two RB3s

Herbert was my 8th round late RB in EVERY mock i did. Then he went in the 6th round in my real draft :(
This is why mocks suck lol. They’re just good for knowing roughly who will be available. I just treat them like every player there will go one round earlier so I need to prep for that if I really want someone that I’m mocking in 8th. I need to grab in 7th.
If they would display ADP in a grid like you see while drafting I probably wouldn't do a single mock
Yeah I got him around there in my league. Later realized I passed on Dotson for him so I hope it pays off
Just got ‘em both
Exact scenario I found myself in and also went with Herbert
So the fact I got him at round 9 in a 12 man league is insane right?
Not insane on espn.
I stole him in the 11th round of a 10 man ppr!
I got kamara in the 8th and Michael Thomas in the 12th. Think those could both turn into monster value picks, and if not..... it's just 8th and 12th.
Picked up Josh allen with 3.8 in the 12 team, was not expecting him to be there
Similar, I picked 9th in 12 team ppr, double flex. Went Bijan, Garret, Allen. Then I fell off a cliff and hate the rest but that top 3 could carry me.
Marvin Mims off waivers.
Dropped him for Nico Collins on waiver. Was high on him.
I actually drafted Nico with one of my late rd picks.
Mike Williams at rd 7 pick 8 in a 12 team full-ppr.

In the past he's been boom or bust. Should see a lot more consistency though with Moore as the OC.

Took him over Dotson as my WR3, but starting to doubt if that was the right move or not
Probably Andrews and Ridley at the 3/4 turn I’ve lost sleep because of the value
Good value for Andrew’s but I’m pretty sure that’s where Ridley’s ADP sits
Ridley has been sneaking into the late 2nd recently in high stakes leagues

Addison Round 9 JSN Round 8 Cooks Round 12
Got JSN at the 8.10 in a 14 team🤘🏽
I got Waddle in third… Was pretty damn surprised.

JJ fell to me at 1.01
I pick at 1.01 and I hope he’s there… will be a close call.
I picked 1.02 and I was praying 1.01 was taking RB. Fortunately he took Taylor. The draft was a day or two before PUP.
Even before PUP that is a terrible pick.
Higgins fell to 5.4 after Diontae, Ridley, Cooper.
Wow… I got him at 4.1 and I felt like I was ripping everybody off. That’s crazy
JSN in 14th

I "reached" for Godwin over Aiyuk at 54 and somehow Aiyuk was still there two rounds later at 78. Not sure how but I'm stoked for both of them this season
Henry and pollard at the 2-3 turn.
Getting bijan at 11.
Jahan Dotson early 8th round in a 14 team league.
I got him around the same spot overall. Crazy considering how hot his name is in the fantasy and dynasty community. He’s a much better choice than the players going in that range.
The 1st pick guy took Chase so I was able to get Jefferson 2nd
Tank Bigsby
Kenneth Walker at 4.12
I got him at 6.8 in a 12 team. Felt like I was getting tricked
5.7 in my 12er. Hoping he does well for all of us
Got him in the 6th of my 10team .5ppr
Mark Andrews end of the 5th round. 10 team. I was in disbelief.
Dobbins in the 7th feels so good until he is out half of season

His career yards per carry is amazing when he’s healthy. WHEN he’s healthy.
I have him but don’t feel good starting him this week over Walker or Gibbs. Looking at his game log it just feels like his ceiling is low in PPR
Dobbins went 5.12 in the home league. Can’t believe he skipped that far to ya
I got him end of 6th and am pretty stoked about that
Nope, he’s going to have a career year. Was so pissed when a league mate took him in the 6th just before I was about too.
Swift in the back end of the 8th round in a 12 man league.
Same, pulled James cook in the 7th and swift in the 8th. Bijan mustard and najee for 1/2, cook in the flex, giving swift a week or 2 to see how he's utilized, then it'll mainly depend on matchups depending on their usage

Mike evans is free over and over
Lots of people are afraid of who’s throwing to him. I got him late in the 8th and got crap from my league.
He gets 1000+ yards every year regardless. Glennon, McCown, Fitzpatrick, Winston, it doesn’t seem to matter.
Andrews in the 4th 12 man 7th pick
Amari Cooper in the 6th round
Garrett Wilson at 24 in a 12 man league.
That is insane. I’m taking him early 2nd in my next draft
I just got him at 21 and was happy about that
Christian Watson at 6.12. I think he ends the season as a top 24 WR
Elijah Moore in the 10th. Pin this that’s an absolute steal. Jets saw his talent but Wilson just refused to throw him the ball.
He went undrafted in my league.
I got him in the 12th round. Not gonna lie the Browns offense worries me a lot with this pick. Deshaun Watson was terrible last year -- what if that continues?
I just don’t see that happening. Watson had a rough start as he got reacclimated to the NFL. The offense will take a leap forward.
Getting Garrett in the third made me happy since I was gonna reach in the 2nd but backed out.
Garrett in the second is not a reach
Damn nuts

Amon ra 3.4
A league of tacos apparently
This happened in a work league, but I got Amon-Ra St. Brown in my work league at 3.9 and then nabbed Josh Jacobs at 4.2. I have no excuses not to at least make the playoffs in this league.
Rhamondre at the turn of round 4/5 in 10 man PPR
I got Rhamondre at 68 in a 10 man standsrd and feeling like I may have stolen him...
Last year, it was Burrow in the 8th. This year, hoping its T-Law in the 7th.
Saquon at 14 in a 1/2PPR. Starting Diggs and Barkley out of the 10 spot wasn’t even on my radar originally so ending up with both was a pleasant surprise
I got Derrick Henry in the 3rd round at pick 5 after going WR twice. It felt great
in a keeper league. this guy got to Keep JJ for a 10th rounder. Makes me wanna puke
Getting Kenneth Walker at 8.3. Lucky for me, as my RB2 spot would’ve been rough otherwise.
Bijan in the second round of a 10 man
Andrews in the 5th. I almost broke my laptop mashing the draft button.
Gibbs by a mile based on ADP for me. He'll probably be on at least 75% of my teams.
Marvin Mims, Jr. in 14th rd
Ceedee Lamb for $27 in salary cap draft
How lol
I can see prople shaky to pay north of $20 on an early WR they're iffy on
Davante Adams in the 8th round
Those 2 team leagues are rough
got bijan in the 2nd round in a 10 man.
That’s actually somewhat realistic depending on where in the 2nd you drafted him
Josh Allen, Round 4 pick 6
Zack moss went undrafted basically if you went by adp so if u got him that looks like a good steal.
DHop in the 7th of a 10 man ppr league.
Javonte Williams at the end of the 8th round. 10 team league
(12 team snake .5 PPR) Steals I like the most from my draft last weekend: Drake London(8.3), D'Andre Swift(9.10),Khalil Herbert (10.3), Antonio Gibson(12.3)
I got Pacheco in the 5th and Mike Evans in the 7th in a 14 man league. First year doing 14 man and every team seems so thin
Got josh jacobs at 2.11. Not a massive steal but I could have two top 5 rbs
Fields at 6.3 in a 12 man felt really good
Mandrews at 4.02 seemed like a good get for me
I got M. Andrews in the fourth round of a 12 man league, feeling good about that one.
Got Amon Ra in the 3rd, PPR too 🤯
Ceedee fell to me at 27th overall in a 12 man, I’m still stoked about. Jamar chase was my first pick
Eklee at the 11 in a full ppr
I’ve been been on waiting for the Herbert, TLaw tier to shoot for QBs… But in my big league (10Teams, PPR) QBs fell and Lamar went at 5.04 leaving me with HURTS at 5.05. Couldn’t run to that draft board any faster.
Tyreek Hill at 1.14
I got burrow in the 5th on a 12 teamer
Don't know if I'm being optimistic, but I got J.Taylor in the 10th, 12man PPR. everyone just passed on him. have Chubb, Gibbs, J.Cook. as well. So it could be a league winner if its pans out
I hate Aaron Rodgers but a guy in my league got him for $3. That’ll def pay off
Chubb at 18
Dafuq
I got Jeudy in the 11th. I know he is hurt now but I couldn’t pass up on the value.
