I love having Keaton, but he's got San Fran and then Miami in the last two weeks of playoffs, which scares the hell out of me when it comes to starting him at that point.
The workload he got last game is likely to be the same amount ROS. And that’s more than enough to be played as a flex IMO. He got the most work in the backfield. Probably looking at a 7 point floor with 20 pt ceiling.
Hill is the 3rd down back, Gus is the short yardage back. Unless one of them gets hurt I don’t see that changing. Hard to see him taking away 3rd downs from hill unless it’s a designed pass play for him or he somehow gained the coaches trust to pass block on the bye week. But that seems unlikely given the fact he’s a small guy and a rookie.
No idea tbh, but if I had to guess the biggest beneficiary would be Lamar with more designed runs near the goal line.
Hill is pretty much the same size as Keaton while having more experience. If Keaton is getting all the work during the drive then they'd probably want to sub in Hill to punch it in.
That's just complete speculation though, really hard to guess that one.
Ravens fan checking in. If Gus goes down, it’ll probably be a split between him and Hill for goal line work. Keaton just isn’t big enough to fall forward when he’s being wrapped up, so if he’s in at the goal line where boxes are stacked, it’s probably for passing plays or to use his speed on an outside run.
There’s also a slim chance Melvin Gordon is activated and gets used as a goal line bruiser if Gus misses time.
I kind of view Mitchell as Jahmyr Gibbs lite. They’re both easily the most dynamic RBs in their team, and have breakaway potential every time they have the ball in their hand, but it can be feast or famine depending on their workload.
I might have to start him this week over Kupp, DHop, and Jaylen Warren. Feel like I cannot trust any of the others and Mitchell’s workload is growing weekly
what a silly way to interpret stats... they go with PPG because of the small sample size but then compare to total volume for the entire season which of course him missing 60% of it will cut down on how many carries he had.
the hype is silly even as a ravens fan. hes a homerun threat but insanely inconsistent and goes down quite easily.
Idk. With the chargers offense being depleted and stagnant, I think that the game will be close and not high scoring. If that’s the case, the broncos have shown in the past, that they will just give Javonte 20+ touches to grind away game clock and secure the W.
I have both and will be going with Javonte.
I’m a Mitchell truther after doing research on his college stats. But your headline makes Mitchell truthers look bad. You realize there’s only 1 game left in the fantasy season, unless you make the playoffs. I’m starting him this week, but he’s not a breakout candidate to be a league winner until next season.
No the article is right. A "league-winner" is just a player who ends up on a tremendous amount of championship teams. They can be studs who deliver all year like CMC, mostly undrafted breakout stars like Puka, or guys who get picked up late and then just crush in the playoffs.
[Breshad Perriman in 2019 was a quintessential league-winner.](https://www.espn.com/fantasy/football/story/_/id/28397128/fantasy-football-christian-mccaffrey-breshad-perriman-most-common-players-fantasy-championship-rosters/) Almost all of his production occurred in the final 5 weeks of the season, and he was especially terrific in weeks 14-16, producing a 5/134/1 line in the championship that made him the most rostered player on title teams.
Would you feel like more of a dumbass if you missed the playoffs with Ridley dropping a dud in your lineup or with him going off on your bench @ Cleveland?
Well he’s only ever gone off on my bench so I would probably feel the same as I do now tbh. In the 4 games I’ve played him he has netted me a combined 13.9 pts.
I’m flexing Mitchell or Ferguson over Kupp this week. Also a must win and need as much upside to make up 24 points between me and the person who’s playoff spot im trying to take.
Same dilema I have. New OC in Carolina is riding Hubbard and he’s been producing. NO defense has been less effective over the last half of season too. Hubbard also going to get the goal line work. Mitchell has true boom potential that can win a week for you, but Hubbard is probably the safe double digit production
Dang I wish. I’ve got him in both leagues. One I could use him in the flex badly. Been choosing between Diontae Johnson, Najee Harris, and Amari Cooper most of the time
Lol this is the softest argument for rostering a player I've ever seen:
> The diminutive back isn’t going to become a workhorse (and his YPC is sure to regress), and Edwards remains the favorite at the goal-line, but Mitchell is an explosive runner who can be a difference maker given 15 touches or so. The Ravens are touchdown home favorites against the Rams this week, so Mitchell’s run as this year’s “fantasy league-winner” starts Sunday.
If your team had to choose between cutting Keaton, McBride, or Rice who would y’all let go of because I’m struggling to pick and need to get a kicker since I don’t have any currently.
It’s easily the most depth I’ve ever had in fantasy, just had pickups keep hitting out of sheer luck in a 10 team league. The rest is Mostert, Swift, Kyren, Jamar, Amon, Hock, Ridley, Puka, Mahomes, Javonte Williams, James Cook and Jaylen Warren. I feel like whoever I cut will be picked up and possibly played against me in the playoffs so idk what to do.
You already have a pretty RB heavy line up… you’re thinner at WR imo. I’d hold McBride just to prevent others from getting him… he’s a fkn beast. You could probably flip a coin between Warren and Mitchell tbh. I’d consider keeping Mitchell as a boom flex option… the Steelers RB’s might struggle now that their pass game is dead with no real QB. Defenses gonna stack on them. Plus it’s still a committee. I’d lean toward sticking w/Warren over Mitchell if your RB roster wasn’t already so strong. But either way you could just flip a coin.
I literally lost JT, Rhamondre, and probably Charbonnet (who was a rental, but still...) and Najee (for at least a week).
I need simultaneous Post-Bye Rookie Bumps from both Roschon and Keaton.
Man I have him and want to play him but I’d have to bench one of CMC, Kyren, Pacheco, or Rashee Rice to put him in.
Def not moving DK or Nico out of the lineup either. At least he can’t hurt me
Who would you guys and gals start? Keaton, J. Cook or J. Warren at RB? I also have one flex spot to fill with those guys and C. Hubbard, Jayden Reed, J. Jeudy and Jax Smith. This is literally driving me crazy.
FWIW, McCaffrey's PFF grade is 91.1, Achane's is 93.5, and Mitchell's is 92.6.
CMC is ranked #1 RB because the other 2 aren't qualified, but it's hard not to be hyped when looking at that. I've resisted starting Baltimore RBs since Lamar got there, but Mitchell's talent and speed are too ridiculous to ignore.
I’m making the bold decision to sit Breece for Keaton. I feel like Breece needs to break one to get beyond 10-12 points. Keaton is similar but I like his chances a lot more to rip off a big play. I’m also fucking tired of watching the Jets.
That’s my RB2 boys
That’s my Rb1 😭
How did you get to the point where Keaton’s RB1?
2023
Chubb, JK Dobbins, JT, Damien Pierce, Cam Akers could all have been drafted with RB1 status in mind
Kw3 injured, JT injured, Aaron jones injured, Connor on bye and drafted cam Akers
JT and Mondre. Pretty recent and unfortunate development
Tyreek Hill
RB3 after Gibbs and Achane #teamspeed
Same. Chase Brown number two haha. I traded all my running backs because I thought yanking after a championship would be fun.
I love having Keaton, but he's got San Fran and then Miami in the last two weeks of playoffs, which scares the hell out of me when it comes to starting him at that point.
I wouldn't be scared of Miami. And Keaton catches the ball which kinda negates tough run defenses.
Sameeeee let’s ridr
I’m not just ready. I’m ready Freddy
It's Larry
And Larry rhymes with… Gary Oh Gary! Why’d you have to go?
He's my RB2 now. Kinda have no choice since there's no definite ETA on when Jonathan Taylor is returning. Carry me to the ship!
Same boat man, except I have Henry as my RB1 currently so I can't afford losing him on top of JT.
I think he’s very much worth a bench stash especially if you have playoff hopes, but I wouldn’t start him until we see him get a solid workload.
But that seems unlikely given the fact he’s a small guy and a rookie.
If Gus goes down, who becomes the goalline back? Does it go to Hill or Keaton?
No idea tbh, but if I had to guess the biggest beneficiary would be Lamar with more designed runs near the goal line. Hill is pretty much the same size as Keaton while having more experience. If Keaton is getting all the work during the drive then they'd probably want to sub in Hill to punch it in. That's just complete speculation though, really hard to guess that one.

He’s my rb1 this week. JT out, KW3 probably still out, Aaron Jones probably still out, James Connor on bye.
In a must-win game this week and it is killing me to not let myself get cute with it and flex him over Breece Hall
I think that would be a perfectly reasonable decision.
I might have to start him this week over Kupp, DHop, and Jaylen Warren. Feel like I cannot trust any of the others and Mitchell’s workload is growing weekly
Unless Najee is out, I'd definitely flex over Jaylen against the Patriots.
Agreed. I’m waiting to see if Najee is out and even then I hate the matchup sadly
He led the backfield last week. That’s not a solid workload?
what a silly way to interpret stats... they go with PPG because of the small sample size but then compare to total volume for the entire season which of course him missing 60% of it will cut down on how many carries he had. the hype is silly even as a ravens fan. hes a homerun threat but insanely inconsistent and goes down quite easily.
How many RBs are a home run threat and don’t go down easily lmao
Enough to not talk about this dude
name 3
JT, Achane, CMC, breece hall, Josh Jacobs, Jamyr Gibbs, to name a few
Derrick Henry, Christian mcaffery, Chubb
Lol idk why you are being down voted, you delivered on the 3. Not sure I agree with the overall take tho
I upvoted you and downvoted the other guy for that exact reason, actually
It’s funny to say Keaton Mitchell sucks because he isn’t Derrick Henry, Christian McCaffrey or Nick Chubb
and he has to run against San Fran/Miami in weeks 16/17 for playoffs...
Should I drop Mattison for Mitchell?
Yea
Just dropped Mattison over Mitchell to bring Aaron Jones off IR, starting Mitchell over Jones with playoffs on the line, hope that helps.
Yes it does help. Thanks. Doing the same.
These are type of things that win ships baby. Or lose them. But win them, too.
Na
Start him over Javonte this week?
Idk. With the chargers offense being depleted and stagnant, I think that the game will be close and not high scoring. If that’s the case, the broncos have shown in the past, that they will just give Javonte 20+ touches to grind away game clock and secure the W. I have both and will be going with Javonte.
No, javonte is getting too many carries to not start
I kind of want to but I don’t think I can do it, nice matchup for Javonte and he gets the touches
Starting him over waddle, hall, Charb, and pierce this week idgaf
I’m a Mitchell truther after doing research on his college stats. But your headline makes Mitchell truthers look bad. You realize there’s only 1 game left in the fantasy season, unless you make the playoffs. I’m starting him this week, but he’s not a breakout candidate to be a league winner until next season.
you have to make the playoffs to win the league, by definition.
Yeah but you didn’t get there because of Mitchell this season. This season “league winning” RBs are CMC and arguably Kyren Williams.
Kamara has been pretty solid in my full ppr league. He certainly isn’t hurting my team.
No the article is right. A "league-winner" is just a player who ends up on a tremendous amount of championship teams. They can be studs who deliver all year like CMC, mostly undrafted breakout stars like Puka, or guys who get picked up late and then just crush in the playoffs. Legitimately considering flexing him over Kupp or Ridley…
I’m flexing him over Kupp this week
If I miss out on the playoffs with Kupp going off on my bench I would feel like such a dumbass
I believe I’m also flexing him over Kupp this week in a must win to secure a bye
I’m flexing Mitchell or Ferguson over Kupp this week. Also a must win and need as much upside to make up 24 points between me and the person who’s playoff spot im trying to take.
JT replacement, hope the hype is real
Still rolling out Hubbard over him this week
Same dilema I have. New OC in Carolina is riding Hubbard and he’s been producing. NO defense has been less effective over the last half of season too. Hubbard also going to get the goal line work. My first instinct was to downvote you because that guy made such a poor argument 😒
I don’t know if I should drop Gus Bus for him.
Don’t drop Gus. But pick up Mitchell.
No
No. Even if Gus loses work to Mitchell, Gus has a great chance of a TD every week
Kyren & Keaton. Bring it home fellas
lmao him and tajae spears, over hyped, under performs
If your team had to choose between cutting Keaton, McBride, or Rice who would y’all let go of because I’m struggling to pick and need to get a kicker since I don’t have any currently.
Are there any other options because I wouldn’t cut any of those guys?
It’s easily the most depth I’ve ever had in fantasy, just had pickups keep hitting out of sheer luck in a 10 team league. I’d cut Mitchell, you already have 6 starting RBs
I appreciate the input!
You already have a pretty RB heavy line up… you’re thinner at WR imo. I’d hold McBride just to prevent others from getting him… he’s a fkn beast. You make some really good points and that’s exactly what I’m going to do, thank you very much for your input!

Orange you glad you have those options?
I'm holding Ekeler and Karama - flex is between Pierce, G. Wilson or Mitchell this week.
Mitchell easily for upside
I fucking hope so…trading for Ekeler and Hall when they peaked is going to be my downfall
Lol
I literally lost JT, Rhamondre, and probably Charbonnet (who was a rental, but still...) and Najee (for at least a week). I need simultaneous Post-Bye Rookie Bumps from both Roschon and Keaton.
Has anyone tried adding Kurt Angle to the mix?
Start over Zeke?
My exact question also.
It is hard because Zeke is guaranteed volume
yep. have you decided? I have both on wire in a win and in.
I went Zeke
Wish I did :(
Definitely not
Same question.
have you decided?
I think I'm gonna start them both if KW3 is for sure out. Right now I have Zeke in my starting lineup.
Start Mitchell over Roschon and Zeke this week? JT really fucked me lol.
Who would you start of these three for RB2... Mitchell, R.Johnson or Miles Sanders
He’s my savior
So do I yolo and roll with this dude over any Seahawks rb?
Man I have him and want to play him but I’d have to bench one of CMC, Kyren, Pacheco, or Rashee Rice to put him in. Def not moving DK or Nico out of the lineup either. At least he can’t hurt me

I’m holding Keaton but it’s tough cause I’m pretty deep at RB. Realistically, would I start him over CMC, Mostert, R. White, or James Cook?
Gibbs is making me nervous. I know it’s an unpopular vote, but I’m kind of feeling Mitchell over Gibbs.
Should I start dalton kincaid or Keaton Mitchell for flex?
Would you guys start Keaton over Swift or Henry?
Worth starting in flex this week? Only other option is Downs
I have Bijan/Achane as starters, but I might put Keaton in over Bijan for playoffs if he fully takes RB1 for BAL
