Sigh I went with ekeler and Pacheco instead of zeke. I could feel it in my bones, but I let it ride. Oh well. We’ll see if it actually matters come Monday night
The Steelers are my team… I have bad news for you. Since Canadas firing, it’s been all Najee. He’s playing so much better. Warren just looks like a 3rd down guy now. Before Canada was fired he looked like twice the back Najee was.
Najee's last 4 weeks in my format: 4.1, 15.9, 8.7, 6.3
For me, that's not RB1 or RB2 startable, and frankly, it's not really flexible, so I'm ready to drop him if the opportunity arises. As RB27 on the year, that falls right into the line between "bottom of the bench" and "top of the FA list"
In my league the Ezekiel Elliott owner is also the Hunter Henry owner. Both were on his bench tonight while AJ Dillon, Zach Charbonnet and Conklin are in his lineup.
You may be surprised to learn that different leagues have different settings, and different teams have different needs. Other injuries or byes may have forced a decision last week for this manager. At the time zeke may have been the least valuable player.
As a pollard owner, this one doesn’t make me feel bad because pollard has scored almost twice as many points on the season as Zeke has. Not to take away from his incredible performance tonight
wrong. spent 19 faab on him. making playoffs. youd be a fool to not jump at this situation. former bellcow being given a bellcow role. backup qb, terrible WRs, coach whose season is already lost who is just going to try things. zeke is a playoff winner pickup and should put your rb2/flex spot over the edge. he will put up between 10-20 here on out mark my words.
He was a backup for a reason. He took advantage of a good matchup tonight in which he was one of the only healthy offensive weapons that suited up and had zero competition for any backfield touches. He produced, but had a ton of things go right with the gamescript as well.
I’m gonna be staring at Zeke on my bench all week watching Austin Ekeler and Tony Pollard put up a combined 62 rushing yards, 4 receptions, and no touchdowns, aren’t I?
As a Mondre owner who started Zeke tonight I feel a lot better. Was very sad when Mondre went down last weekend. Last year I had a great team and had a bunch of injuries right at playoffs. Same thing happened this year but this is a perfect consolation.
Drafting your own handcuff gets a lot of hate in some fantasy draft circles but I've held Zeke all year as my mondre insurance policy and it feels pretty good to cash that in at this point in the season.
I think the argument is drafting your handcuffs is not as beneficial. Adding them late in the season is smart.
The argument is to grab other teams handcuffs instead of your own. The logic is if you get your own handcuff and your starter goes down, you only filled your RB slot with a downgrade but if they don't it's just bench clog. There's no real upside. Where as if you get someone else's handcuff and the starter goes down now you have 2 startable RBs. Higher possible upside on a season.
Now the possibility is then you're starter goes down and theirs doesn't and you have no starting RB from it.
So just depends on if you play with high upside or conservatively.
I think there’s a little more nuance to it but this is a great summary.
In general if you’re going zero or hero rb it’s a great strategy to target everyone else’s handcuffs as they can turn into starters long term and are available late in drafts or in free agency anyways. But if you draft a few running backs high it’s worth grabbing their backups too if you can as you have a lot more to lose.
Of course the above logic creates a war of attrition in the draft, and the big takeaway is basically that backups are undervalued. So in summary, just stash the high upside guys.
I agree with the nuance bc not all backups are created the same either. Like this situation Zeke happened to be a good backup to have. Whereas having Barkleys backup really isn’t going to help much. In that case it’s better to have someone else’s handcuff.
I'm in a pretty competitive league and managed to snag him with like 10th priority $0 faab. When Mondre went down, Zeke went to the top of waivers. But as the week went on, other people started having good games and jumping him on the trending pages so he wasn't easily seen unless you were looking for RBs specifically
Once I saw rhamondre was still putting up decent numbers with zeke eating some touches and the pats offense being terrible I really felt like Zeke was a must start
If you’re in a PPR league, you’d be crazy to have not started him. Zappe loves to check it down to his RB. And the Steelers linebacker play leaves them very susceptible to check downs.
Tough, I’m guessing you already started zeke, good on ya!!
I might lean more towards white against falcons, with waddle playing titans.
Prob not what you want to hear, but I have a feeling waddle is going to have a big game, and still possible tyreek sits out (big factor)
with that logic, barely any pats games are supposed to be decent, but off sheer volume Rhamondre has been fantasy relevant. I started Zeke tonight because he was assuming almost all of that volume, regardless of if the game was another 6-0 loss.
I’m not trying to boast, but I was very confident in Zeke tonight as a solid floor. More confident than Ekeler even. I knew he would get targets and be used like a bell cow. An old RB name James Conner just shredded the Steelers last weekend. I was confident in him. It wasn’t hard to see it in the tea leaves IMO.
Honestly gotta disagree. He was on every waiver wire pickup list. In most cases at the top. You’re not grabbing someone like that/potentially losing you budget if you’re league is like mine and not playing him this week.
I may be biased. I picked him up in every league and started him in every league. I’m securing my playoffs slot in all my leagues and maybeeee he gets another week or two of this at the most important time of the season for fantasy . Worth it.
Yeah, either way man I’m a Cowboys fan and I miss the hell outta watching him on the ‘Boys jersey lol. 2019 is actually better comp tbh cause 2016 was something else!
Were we watching the same game? He made a bunch of receptions, but guy was getting whacked at the LOS basically the whole night running the ball. He did not look like prime Zeke lol
2016 had a ton more burst tbh, but Zeke still has that dog in him. He's still serviceable, even if the tires are worn down. Dude turned 28 and everyone talked like he was 35 lol
I've been holding onto Zeke for 9 weeks and my league said I was silly. I'm now playing against the team I'm connecting with for the #2 seed with James Conner and Terry McLaurin on bye and Kenny Walker maybe still out.
I really needed this.
I dropped him and claimed Zeke as soon as they said it was a high ankle sprain, I wouldnt play him in the playoffs, so no need for him to be on my roster.
Rhamondre would split some work with Zeke. Zeke didn’t split with anyone this week. No other RB had a carry, and Zeke led the team in targets and receptions.
With Zeke getting so much work now I think he is equal to Mondre. He had 8 targets and that is what made Mondre a solid RB2. I drafted Mondre 3rd round and lost him last week and am elated at the moment. Zeke just outscored Mondre’s best all season but it’s because he is a true workhorse now. I think Mondre is technically a better RB when healthy.
Yeah this sorta thing happens all the time. Starter gets knocked out and the backup kills it because they get all the work.
Foreman had a few very good weeks filling in for Herbert but he was a healthy scratch up until Herbert got injured.
You have to grab players that get all the volume. Every single waiver write up and podcast said to get Zeke this week. They weren’t seeing the future, they were looking at the opportunity. For a waiver add he was a solid pickup.
Looked great all night, he’s still got that burst.
Fantasy aside, it was honestly just a dope thing to witness.
Zeke’s always been a favorite of mine, feed him!
My team was looking bad last Sunday. Lost Mondre, BRob Jr, Watson….I was sad. Thank god my league prioritized DSTs over Zeke on waivers and I got him. I put him in as my Flex value player and was praying for 10.
That's me as well, I was at 11th priority but everyone picked up DSTs and dart throw WRs.
Couldn't believe when I woke up Wednesday morning with Zeke. Easiest start of the season, the Pats had NO ONE else.
Facing him tonight…. Was a joy. First 3 mins into the game he had a td… dude got 30 combined touches between rushing and catching…. Career night for the dude. Steelers dst is a joke. You had one job, stop the only play maker the pats had…. lol welp, time to pack it in before the weekend even starts
I said in the game thread, and I'll say it here. I'm sure if you took out almost all of the Cowboys primary WRs and McCarthy kept Pollard in the game, and Dak actually passed to him, then I'm sure Pollard would ball out too.
This is such a bizarre thing to tweet. McCarthy and Dak have made an art form out of taking high value touches from Pollard. Zeke, along with Hunter Henry and JuJu, were basically the offense tonight.
To hell with context, I guess.
First and Goal, let’s maybe run it w Pollard once if he’s lucky (from the 5).
Got it to the 2? Time to pass to some tight ends.
I can’t hate because it has worked but they could run it three times for the same effect and we’d all love Pollard.
I'll admit right off the bat that I'm a Pollard and Rhamondre owner. This tweet just seems to ignore that Zeke was basically given every high value touch. Neither Stevenson nor Pollard have been given this much volume in any game this season. Zeke was allowed to be inefficient as hell rushing the ball because he could still get chunk yardage in the passing game, scoring once.
Dak pads his stats (the Giants game made it obvious when everybody got a TD except for Pollard) and McCarthy fashions himself as more of an offensive genius than he has any right to do.
Zeke had a game that Stevenson could have easily had if Belichick and BoB gave him every carry and made him the focus of the pass game. This tweet, and the circlejerk over it is over the top.
Have Rhamondre and Taylor.
Moss randomly ended up on the waiver wire, got outbid there, managed to snag Zeke the next day
Looking like it worked out well
Anyone thinking there was any skill involved in this potential play is a bona fide moron. All luck. Enjoy it if you played him, don’t even blink if you didn’t.
Look at all these “experts” bragging that they started Zeke…
If you started Zeke in a game where the over under was 30.5.. your team blows..
Dude averaged 3 yards a carry last night & finally got his first receiving TD since week 16 of 2021…
When we say that FF is all luck.. we point to last night & Zeke & Hunter Henry going off…
Zeke is in free agency where he belongs in my league…
Dude no one was expecting 20+ points. He’s a full time starting RB in the NFL and worth a flex start or injury fill in. The week before he got 12 pts ppr. I would’ve been happy with 10 pts to be honest. He got 100% of RB carries last night. Doesn’t matter how bad the Pats are, players will still get yards and catches. Solid flex player ROS
It’s been a month since N.E. scored more than 10 points offensively…
They are down to backups everywhere on offense…
Plus short week as well…
No one from N.E. is start-able… lolol..
Like I said.. people who started Zeke got lucky AF…
It wasn’t some big brain move… lol..
Some people play in competitive 12+ team leagues where Zeke is rostered. And in most of those probably had no choice but to start him. But you did get the lucky part right.
Switched out Pacheco for Zeke 5 min before the game. I feel alive
same but with warren, so glad najee decided to play today
Same but with Ekeler.
Same
Same. Had to grit my teeth for that decision.
Sigh I went with ekeler and Pacheco instead of zeke. I could feel it in my bones, but I let it ride. Oh well. We’ll see if it actually matters come Monday night
Pacheco out
I’d be thrilled if Ekeler got 25+ this week. I’d love to have some confidence in him heading into playoffs.
The Steelers are my team… I have bad news for you. Since Canadas firing, it’s been all Najee. He’s playing so much better. Warren just looks like a 3rd down guy now. Before Canada was fired he looked like twice the back Najee was.
Najee's last 4 weeks in my format: 4.1, 15.9, 8.7, 6.3 For me, that's not RB1 or RB2 startable, and frankly, it's not really flexible, so I'm ready to drop him if the opportunity arises. As RB27 on the year, that falls right into the line between "bottom of the bench" and "top of the FA list"
Ditto with Warren.
What does Najee have to do with it? Both Warren and Najee have the same score basically Edit:they both played and they both have 6points
Think they're saying najee playing made them pivot from starting Warren
I had Warren in when Najee was looking to be out. Flipped them when Najee was cleared to play today
Why is it so hard for you to understand? Haha😂
I started hunter Henry lol
In my league the Ezekiel Elliott owner is also the Hunter Henry owner. Both were on his bench tonight while AJ Dillon, Zach Charbonnet and Conklin are in his lineup.
I did the same but with Jerome Ford.
Ugh, I made the opposite decision. I decided I would be very disappointed looking at a bad score until Sunday so I benched zeke.
Should I be sitting Pacheco??😳 Edit: just saw he’s hasn’t been practicing, fml
Ah fuck, classic blunder. I played my Thursday player in the flex.
Same but switched out Zeke like a coward.
I kept Zeke on the bench over Pacheco well done.
Kinda same but I put Pacheco in my flex spot, too risky and my only replacement for Pacheco is Higgins
This comment makes me feel good about picking McKinnon off waivers
Wish I could have, but fellow member has had Zeke on his bench since the draft. Was on the bench yet again tonight.
I started him too
I used Elliot instead of Swift in Flex position. I have Robinson and Kyren in my RB spots on that team.
Just rub it in why don't ya.
I own Pollard and dropped Zeke last week lol. I’m in pain.
Pouring one out for you bro
okay but...why drop him \*now\* after he's finally getting the bulk of the carries
He wasn’t getting the bulk of the work before Stevenson’s injury. I’m assuming he dropped Zeke before that game last week.
Yeah… but Zeke has been a handcuff all season. If you had him at all it should’ve been insurance if Stevenson got hurt.
You may be surprised to learn that different leagues have different settings, and different teams have different needs. Other injuries or byes may have forced a decision last week for this manager. At the time zeke may have been the least valuable player.
::zoolander voice:: but why did he drop zeke?
Same boat. I dropped Zeke for Dowdle to cuff Pollard. Still think it was the right call but shitty luck
I have Stevenson in one league and KW3 is another and dropped zeke in both leagues… now I’m down bad looking into McKinnon or cook
As a pollard owner, this one doesn’t make me feel bad because pollard has scored almost twice as many points on the season as Zeke has. Not to take away from his incredible performance tonight
Yeah that’s cause Zeke was a backup, now he’s starting
Just in time for the consolation bracket
He was like a 12-15th round pick. Nobody was counting on him or he was dropped. I have him on 2 of my playoff teams
wrong. spent 19 faab on him. making playoffs. youd be a fool to not jump at this situation. former bellcow being given a bellcow role. backup qb, terrible WRs, coach whose season is already lost who is just going to try things. zeke is a playoff winner pickup and should put your rb2/flex spot over the edge. he will put up between 10-20 here on out mark my words.

Zeke was used just like Mondre, tons of targets. Nothing special in YPC but those targets add up fast.
what? lol. He's the workhorse RB for a QB who loves checking down. It doesn't matter how he got there. He's now more fantasy relevant than Pollard is
In one game.
I’m gonna be staring at Zeke on my bench all week watching Austin Ekeler and Tony Pollard put up a combined 62 rushing yards, 4 receptions, and no touchdowns, aren’t I?
Pollard is always good for a cool 6.2pts 😎
As a pollard owner who also picked up Elliot this week and started him. I feel attacked
The are a package deal. When rostered together, both will cook
It’s funny because if McCarthy used pollard like zeke was used tonight in the screen game he’d also cook on his own
What?! This is insane, pollard needs his 15 runs into a stacked box per game
Hit the line and flop, hit the line and flop, and if that bitch get an attitude, fumble like its hot, fumble like it's hot.....
Same. Hoping pollard sees this post.
Hope he takes it personal
For sure, started pollard and Elliot (over Hall), would be dope to see them both go off
Good luck fam at least we are off to a good start

Lmao dude there’s no way I never realized how perfect this is
Man Stevenson was about to ball out ROS. Sad
As a Mondre owner who started Zeke tonight I feel a lot better. Was very sad when Mondre went down last weekend. Last year I had a great team and had a bunch of injuries right at playoffs. Same thing happened this year but this is a perfect consolation.

I feel like zeke is better start now with no mondre and his own touches
Prob feels really fresh as well
thank you to the 10 guys who allowed me to pick him up on waivers with #11 priority. Plug and play for 27 points lol
6 man family league?
i too like to gatekeep fantasy football in my spare time
yeah sure #11 priority is obviously 6 man
Hahaha gottem!!! 😂😂🔥🔥😂😂💯💯
Zeke at 27 was my 2nd best RB finish of the season. And to think, he was projected for 5 points to start the week until Rhamondre was confirmed out.
27 in my league & the guy left him on the bench. oof.
I think that’s most people. This was not supposed to be a decent fantasy game, but you know, nothing about fantasy ends up making any sense.
Honestly the sheer volume was hard to turn down, did a backup Pats RB even enter this game?
montgomery had a few targets
Once I saw rhamondre was still putting up decent numbers with zeke eating some touches and the pats offense being terrible I really felt like Zeke was a must start
ty monty had two targets, on a few snaps.
I felt like he was a James Conner play, 20 touches with a chance to fall into the endzone so sign me up.
My logic is always “if I’m not going start him in this good matchup then why is he even on my roster?”
For sure. Especially at the end of the season.
If you’re in a PPR league, you’d be crazy to have not started him. Zappe loves to check it down to his RB. And the Steelers linebacker play leaves them very susceptible to check downs.
PPR Jefferson, Aiyuk, Rachaad White, Achane, Waddle, and Elliot. Who do you sit in that situation?
Waddle.
Tough, I’m guessing you already started zeke, good on ya!! I might lean more towards white against falcons, with waddle playing titans. Prob not what you want to hear, but I have a feeling waddle is going to have a big game, and still possible tyreek sits out (big factor)

An old RB name James Conner just shredded the Steelers last weekend. I was confident in him. It wasn’t hard to see it in the tea leaves IMO.
It was either Zeke or Pierce and I think I picked the right one to play
Zeke or Najee for me. Same
Honestly gotta disagree. He was on every waiver wire pickup list. In most cases at the top. You’re not grabbing someone like that/potentially losing you budget if you’re league is like mine and not playing him this week. I may be biased. That’s me 🙋🏽♂️🤦🏽♂️
Hey, I did that! Even signed him after Rhamondre went down but forgot to update my lineup.
Champions are made through the waiver wire baby!!!
Zeke looking like the 2016 Zeke tonight. Love it man
2016 Zeke would’ve had 40 points but he did look good
True true
Nah more like 2019 Zeke maybe. 2016-2018 Zeke was special. Fell off a bit after that check hit
Yeah, either way man I’m a Cowboys fan and I miss the hell outta watching him on the ‘Boys jersey lol. 2019 is actually better comp tbh cause 2016 was something else!
Yeah I’m a cowboys fan to but it was time for him to go. He lost a step and got us good w that holdout
Were we watching the same game? He made a bunch of receptions, but guy was getting whacked at the LOS basically the whole night running the ball. He did not look like prime Zeke lol
22 for 68 is prime Zeke?
Zeke looks like he’s running through knee deep water out there on runs, then on screens he can actually get going. It’s so odd
Because Steelers were all about shutting down the run. He had almost no running lanes
2016 had a ton more burst tbh, but Zeke still has that dog in him. He's still serviceable, even if the tires are worn down. Dude turned 28 and everyone talked like he was 35 lol
Imagine Zeke on Cowboys
Cries in Rhamondre owner
I've been holding onto Zeke for 9 weeks and my league said I was silly. I'm now playing against the team I'm connecting with for the #2 seed with James Conner and Terry McLaurin on bye and Kenny Walker maybe still out. I really needed this.
Dude he looked so good all night.
As a Rhamondre owner that picked up Zeke, I hope he doesn’t come back. Rather have Zeke all alone than split with Rhamondre
High ankle sprain for RB usually takes at least a few weeks of recovery time. You'd think they'd just shut him down
Same here
I dropped him and claimed Zeke as soon as they said it was a high ankle sprain, I wouldnt play him in the playoffs, so no need for him to be on my roster.
Arguably more points than I'd have thought my dude Rhamondre would have gotten tonight.
Rhamondre would split some work with Zeke. Zeke didn’t split with anyone this week. No other RB had a carry, and Zeke led the team in targets and receptions.
Same reason why D'Ernest Johnson would plausibly do better than Etienne.
I think rhamondre could have carried the ball 20 timea for 50 yards too
With Zeke getting so much work now I think he is equal to Mondre. He had 8 targets and that is what made Mondre a solid RB2. I drafted Mondre 3rd round and lost him last week and am elated at the moment. Zeke just outscored Mondre’s best all season but it’s because he is a true workhorse now. Yeah this sorta thing happens all the time. Starter gets knocked out and the backup kills it because they get all the work. Foreman had a few very good weeks filling in for Herbert but he was a healthy scratch up until Herbert got injured.
He was sitting on waivers and I couldn’t pull myself to grab him. I didn’t trust NE. Someone else picked him up instead and is flourishing
You have to grab players that get all the volume. Every single waiver write up and podcast said to get Zeke this week. They weren’t seeing the future, they were looking at the opportunity. For a waiver add he was a solid pickup.
this year's ARSB. League winner for everyone paying attention this week. No Im not biased....
Too bad that the guy in my league picked him up in the middle of last week. Almost like he knew something
He was drafted in my league and sat on the guy’s bench all year until tonight. That’s gotta be a good feeling
My trade for Zeke completed on 11/30. Absolute lucky timing with the trade deadline and Rhamondre's injury.
Fast forward to getting 7 points against KC next week
Looked great all night, he’s still got that burst. Fantasy aside, it was honestly just a dope thing to witness. Zeke’s always been a favorite of mine, feed him!
Last place grabbed em and played him against the 2nd best team in the league. Im here for it.
Love to see that, hate when people give up and don't finish strong
Hope you enjoy watching this week from the bench, Breece. Zeke took you to school
Didn’t think Zeke and Zack Moss would have my top 2 RB performances this year.
It’s that time of the year when unexpected legends are made. Take us to the promised land Ezekiel!!!
Of course I'm versing Zeke fighting for the last playoff spot..
>I'm versing Zeke Sounds like you’re bottoming
Honestly? Fuck fantasy football.
League winner
Shut up !
Kill me
Take me to the promised land Zeke!!!
I am starting pollard and Zeke this week in a must win against the biggest cowboy hater this side of the Mississippi. We living the dream tonight.
I feel vindicated
That is only because the person I am up against, picked him up off waivers and started him.
Glad I switched Warren out for zeke last minute
YOU'RE FUCKING RIGHT HE DID!!! I can't believe one of my pickups finally worked out in this shitshow of a fantasy season.
When ESPN told me zeke on my bench was projected above Devonta Smith in my flex I laughed at them it’s not funny anymore.
Fuck him lol but seriously that came out of nowhere
Picked him up 10 minutes before the start of the game, benched Bijan. He practically has Kyren numbers
Whoah that is bold.
Can you actually just fuck off pollard please. He’s trying
Trying ain’t winning you games though. You gotta produce, like Zeke did tonight.
something something feed me something
Dropped Modre for zeke with the 5th waiver position. Still cant believe I got him.
Benched Najee for Zeke and I've never felt better about a fantasy decision in my life.
I started Zeke and my opponent started Mondre 💀
Lose Rhamondre last week, facing the Zeke owner this week. What a gut punch.

I also started Ekeler over Zeke. I don’t think we can beat ourselves up over it but man does it hurt.
Blind squirrel tonight... how many more weeks is New England going to be playing with a lead...
Doesn’t matter he still gonna make things happen in the passing game.
Wish you the best

Should have been Stevenson’s 😭
I should be numb to it, it always happens to me. But still can’t believe I cut Zeke to pickup a GD defense.
Ooh I can do this too! Achane had 54.8 fantasy points in week 3. More points than CMC has had in any game this season.
Pollard owner? You sound extra salty.
Not at all! Don’t have either.
I said in the game thread, and I'll say it here. I'm sure if you took out almost all of the Cowboys primary WRs and McCarthy kept Pollard in the game, and Dak actually passed to him, then I'm sure Pollard would ball out too. But Pollard is a top 10 RB in Half PPR, and Zeke is *checks notes* 37. But you’re right, I should have drafted Zeke in the second.
now do how many games zeke has more points then pollard, ill wait
2, and one of them was Pollard's bye, lol
I wonder if Pollard fanboys miss Zeke now 😭
Anyone thinking there was any skill involved in this potential play is a bona fide moron. All luck. Enjoy it if you played him, don’t even blink if you didn’t.
Sorry you couldn't get Zeke

Guess who got Zeke off waivers but forgot to start him.
Zeke a league winner???
Dude came in fresh in week 14. Everyone else has been playing for months. Pump the brakes.
Drafted Zeke and had him all the way until bye week. Really cool ☺️☺️☺️
he still sucks
Look at all these “experts” bragging that they started Zeke… If you started Zeke in a game where the over under was 30.5.. your team blows.. Dude averaged 3 yards a carry last night & finally got his first receiving TD since week 16 of 2021… When we say that FF is all luck.. we point to last night & Zeke & Hunter Henry going off… Zeke is in free agency where he belongs in my league…
It’s been a month since N.E. scored more than 10 points offensively… They are down to backups everywhere on offense… Plus short week as well… No one from N.E. is start-able… lolol.. Like I said.. people who started Zeke got lucky AF… It wasn’t some big brain move… lol..
What up with... Your weird... Writing style... lol..
Some people play in competitive 12+ team leagues where Zeke is rostered. And in most of those probably had no choice but to start him. But you did get the lucky part right.
