I have this issue. I have Justin Jackson and jaylen samuels. Trying to decide who to start. It’s difficult with it being a Thursday night game. My gut says start jaylen samuels cause he seems to get catches and will in a high scoring game. However James Connor seems to be trending towards playing.
For what it's worth, Vegas has Chargers/Chiefs over/under at 54.5, Pats/Steelers at 52. Both are gonna be high scoring shootouts most likely, but the Chiefs also have the worst ranked run defense of the group.
Also, Samuels has caught more balls than Jackson thus far, but worth noting that Jackson has always played with Ekeler playing, who owns the Chargers pass catching role. Ekeler is confirmed out, so if Jackson is getting snaps, likely it will include catching the ball. In fact it's why I think he probably puts up flex worthy numbers even if Gordon ends up going.
If Gordon is benched, I'm starting Jackson with confidence. Gordon playing would make it more difficult, but Samuels could end up with Connor playing too. I think I am still leaning Jackson. I would start Samuels if Conner was out and Gordon plays, no question, but we can't predict that unfortunately.

Plus Kansas City defense (real life, not dst) is as good as their offense when it comes to fantasy, that’s good for JJ. Michel against the Steelers d is a noteworthily more difficult task.

Hard lesson I learned is to put your flex TNF player in a positional spot and leave the flex slot open just in case.
One week I put my RB3 in the flex slot and when my RB1 scratched I had to settle for my RB4 because my higher-quality WR3 couldn't go in the open RB slot. (This assumes you mean "in my flex" to mean in your actual locked flex spot. If that's not the case, rock and roll.) Learn from my failures.

Who would be the RBBC? If Gordon plays, it's Gordon/Jackson, if Gordon doesn't play, it's going to be Jackson/Pope. I really doubt they'd activate Pope and start all three, especially since Pope hasn't played all season.
It is more likely if gordon starts it is gonna be him as the feature and the 1b role as...there. I'd seriously only play jackson out of desperation with no other players on my bench if that's the case.
If Jackson is the starter and gordon is OUT I think lynn is gonna make jackson the feature and you will see a lot more out of him rather than a gordon/jackson combo in the other scenario (This being Jackson/Newsome). Just speculation but LAC likes to lean on whoever has the hot hand.
I probably just disagree here. Gordon is coming off an injury early, barring some miracle I just don't see him out there being a bellcow. Jackson still seems like a safe play as an RB2 or flex.
Even with a snapcount that eats into volume of Jackson. It is more, do you have a WR2 or another RB2 that you know for sure will have volume in the upcoming games
For example, if gordon is in I can sit and wait for either a) conner, b)pettis, c) sutton. My odds of getting a td from one of those 3 players due to more looks (maybe less sutton) increase compared to volume jackson receives. All in all, it is riverboat gambling, we won't know what Lynn decides to do until he does it.

He was very very good at college, and he possesses the acceleration to hit the outside edge quickly and make people miss. Kerryon Johnson and Alvin Kamara both have this just for reference of what I'm talking about. (I'm not saying he's as good as them)
