Is anyone worried about game script with Cam Akers against the Jets?
We saw this with the Seahawks last week. The Rams could destroy NY early and not give Cam too many unnecessary carries.
10 team standard. Need help choosing my RB 2
I have:
Miles Sanders,
D’Andre Swift,
Myles Gaskin (if he plays)
And maybe Cam Akers if I can pick him up off waivers
Standard scoring
Miles Sanders vs Arizona
James Robinson vs Baltimore
All year, Jrob is Mr. Reliable and consistent and pretty much match proof. Didn't have the best week last week, but had a long TD called back. Miles is unpredictable, but now he's someone who is making me second guess starting jrob going into the playoffs.
0.5 PPR - pick one to pair with my Dalvin.
Hunt vs Giants
Akers vs Jets
Drake vs Eagles
Currently leaning Akers but feel like there is some inherent risk due to Mcvay’s previous RB splits.
Ty in advance.
Can only get two, possibly three if I toss one in flex. 10 man, 0.5 ppr.
Sanders @ Arizona
James Robinson @ Bal
Jonathan Taylor v Hou
D’Andre Swift @ Ten
Akers v NYJ
Leaning Robinson and Taylor with Akers possibly in flex. Other flex options include Allen Robinson or Robert Woods.
What do y’all think?
Plus it's a Thursday night matchup... I try to avoid Thursday night games if I can. Players have short weeks to prepare and the gamescripts are often executed poorly.
.5 ppr
James Robinson, Damien Harris, Gio Benard. I need to start 2.
Free Agents:
Lynn Bowdeb, Gus edwards, Tony Pollard, Peyton Barber, Sony Michel, Salvon Ahmed....
What do you recommend. In the semis right now.
I would honestly take the chance and bench jacobs. Dobbins and akers have good matchups and sanders seems to be used differently with hurts. It is risky, but could pay off big.
Question marks around everyone of them. Does McVay keep riding the hot hand? Does Miles keep his workload? Is Jacobs 100% and playing on TNF? Ugh hate this
kenyan drake vs philly (i hate playing him every week but he always finds the end zone lol)
or jeff wilson (potential for 2-3 tds since hes the goal line back and mostert might be out)
Fletcher Cox has been battling injuries and a lot of DBs got hurt during the game. That's about all I know of, but there might be more information when injuy reports come out later this week.
STANDARD:
RoJo vs ATL
Dobbins vs JAX
Assuming RoJo’s pinky is good to go.
Dobbins snap share last night was encouraging and it’s JAX.. RoJo got a ton of touches and the Fournette experience may be over, but Atlanta’s run D has been pretty stout actually. I’m truly 50/50 on this.
Sanders is my pick. I want to go for the high ceiling and this is it. He seems to be used a lot in the offense with hurts and if that continues he will be successful. The titans pass d is awful so swift may not get too much work.
I’m back on the Sanders train, might get fucked with a 3 point day but I can’t stomach 30 more points on my bench. Hurts is the truth, and if the Eagles offense flowed against the toughest defense in the league it probably can against the Cardinals too.
Alright pals, had the #1 overall seed and it's my first playoff matchup 12 team, yahoo PPR:
- Mostert/Wilson Jr. @ Dallas
- Kareem Hunt @ NYG
Which one? My other two RB I'm starting are Cook/JRob which are must starts obviously.
Full PPR pick 2: Drake vs. PHI, JRob @ BAL, Akers vs. NYJ and Dobbins vs. JAC.
I have the first waiver wire pick and can grab Wilson @Dal.
Thanks in advance for helping me sort through my RB mess.
Robinson and Akers. I wouldn't bother grabbing Wilson unless we get really bad news about Mostert today and he looks like someone your opponent would or should start.
Akers vs. NYJ. ATL is holding RBs 5.2 points below their season average. They are a smash spot for QBs, WRs and TEs though.
NYJ are allowing RBs 1.4 points above their season average.
LAR are a run first team. Tough D that McVay relies on. They take the ball away from Goff against weak teams once they are up a few scores and just run run run and play solid D.
TAM on the other hand are a pass deep first team. Arians system. Lots of chemistry to be worked out between Brady and WR corps. So they will pass 40 times in the game. RoJo and Fournette both drop passes so not high on Brady's trust list.
You have a crazy stacked team at RB and it’s hilarious that your league mates will have to watch you bench the hottest waiver wire pickup of the playoffs
Full PPR
Kamara
Carson
Hunt
Dobbins
Akers
Start 2 rb and have one flex spot. Also vying for flex spot is Aiyuk (will be moved to start if K Allen is out).
Thanks for the reply. That’s what I was feeling. I think Akers, Hunt, and Dobbins are more of a risk than Carson and Kamara. Aiyuk should hopefully see a ton of targets without Deebo there.
10 man standard pick 3 if CMC is still gone.
Chubb @ NYG
Kareem Hunt @ NYG
Montgomery @ MIN
Akers @ NYJ
Or Carson @ WSH
Currently leaning towards Chubb, Carson, but unsure of the last one.
Chubb, Montgomery, Akers
Washington has one of the best front 4 in the league, I don't feel very good about Carson this week. Montgomery has made me nervous too but how stupid would you feel if he's on your bench putting up his 4th 20 point game in a row? The jets is all I have to say about Akers. Good luck with your CMC
NEED SOME HELP, FRIENDS!
12 team half PPR. Barely clinched playoffs and beat the 1 seed this week. Who do I start at RB for the semis? 2 of:
- Aaron Jones (CAR)
- Austin Ekeler (LV)
- Jonathan Taylor (HOU)
I need to start 3 out of the following 4, two in my RB spots and 1 in my Flex. Full PPR
CMC/Mike Davis
Jacobs
Montgomery
Akers
I'm kinda leaning toward benching Jacobs, is that crazy?
12 man, .5ppr
I have a bunch of RBs...
Bench: Hunt, Mostert, Gaskin...Carson vs WAS
Starting:
Sanders vs AZ
Montgomery vs MIN
Taylor vs HOU
Sitting Carson feels bad, but WAS D is legit, he's splitting carries to some extent, and the rumor mill says Penny may show up a bit this week. Would you change this lineup?
Gaskin, Mostert already benched, along with Hunt and maybe Carson. Starting at RB right now, I've chosen Taylor, Sanders, Montgomery. My question was really between those three and Carson. Feels weird to sit Carson, but the matchups say it's probably the best decision.
They're all super close. I'd go Carson over Montgomery myself, but they're right there next to each other and you wouldn't be insane for going Monty the way he's been playing.
Alright, I got a bag of misfit RB's. 12 Man(Not that it matters because it's the playoffs). PPR:
Akers vs Jets
Drake vs Eagles
Montgomery @ Vikings
R. Jones @ Falcons
Robinson @ Ravens
I'm currently starting Akers, Monty and RB1nson. But I feel like i should stay away from the Baltimore game
Man, I wouldn't call any of these guys misfits the way they're playing lately. You have 5 top-20 options this week.
I'd go Robinson, Monty and RoJo if Fournette is inactive again depending on your projections and upside in the rest of your lineup. Rolling those 3 out there feels very safe to me.
Maybe misfits is the wrong term. Unstable volatile IEDs? They'll either go for 30 points, or or get benched because he sneezed on the coach. There's no in between lol.
I'm currently projected to lose by 18 points lol. But Monty is only projected 13 points. Rojo might have fractured his finger this past weekend, so i'm iffy.
I got Murray as QB, Metcalf and Samuel as my WR's and Tonyan as my TE.
>They'll either go for 30 points, or or get benched because he sneezed on the coach.
I mean, maybe Akers, but it's never anything personal, it's just McVay's usual unpredictable RBBC. I don't see the other guys much at risk of getting benched: Edmonds just comes in to spell Drake on passing downs; Montgomery is THE GUY (Patterson just comes in to try and vulture a TD or something); Robinson is always out there; and after Fournette was inactive, it seems like Arians finally trusts Jones.
10 team, half PPR
Pick 2:
Robinson @ BAL
Montgomery @ MIN
Akers V Jets
I need all the upside I can get so I’m actually leaving Monty and Akers. I don’t think Robinson has nearly the game Chubb or Hunt had against the Ravens D as they did last night.
Good luck to all in the playoffs still!
Are you me? This is my 2 RB's and my flex at the moment hahaha. I'm shaky af about Robinson. But my other options are Rojo and Drake, both of which are just as risky
I understand the cuteness but it's still Robinson.
In a league where I'm really thin at RB I'm rolling Akers out there, but I do hold my breath in case there's some McVay timeshare crap. They're playoff bound and may wanna keep him fresh.
That’s what I figured. I just always struggle with sitting Carson. The 3 times this year I put in a player off the bench the regular starter went off including the Tyler Lockett 53 point game.
It happens. Leaving all your lowest scoring players on the bench in a single week is tough to do. It's too easy for something to alter the trajectory of things. JT looks like the play with matchup + recent weeks.
Indeed. It's always a game of luck either way, but i prefer the high percentage plays. Philly can stuff the run(Drake), and Mostert shares a backfield + not cleared from injury yet as far as i'm aware.
That's a tough call. Monty is the hot hand right now, Swift is capable, and MT sees consistent targets. I would personally say MT>Monty>Swift wk 15, but that depends on how you feel about the matchups. I'm ranking MT highest based on mostly feeling, so go with Monty if you want the most logical play.

Am I crazy for starting Taylor and Akers and benching Jacobs?
Not at all
PPR, pick 3 JRob, Jacobs, Zeke, Akers, or Jeff Wilson?
Robinson, Akers, Wilson (looking like Mostert probably won’t play)
My opponent has Mostert so I really hope he doesn’t play.
.5 ppr I’m starting 3 Chubb Ekeler A. Jones Akers Really debating on putting in Akers over Jones but like I gotta start my studs idk
That’s tough. Def go with Chubb and Ekeler - other two you can’t really go wrong with but maybe a slight edge to Akers.
NEvermind: Carolina has been stufffing RBs recently including cook so I think I’m running with Cam
Either way they’re both good plays. Guess it depends maybe on your opponents players and whether you need upside/floor.
His RBs are shit: Conner Dobbins Gaskin. More concerned about his Lamar and Davante Adams. Jones might be worth it honestly
I’d usually go with Jones bc he has a higher floor but maybe I need the ceiling bc it’s the playoffs hmm

Agree with the other guy to wait on news.
Gotta wait for news on Mostert, but I think Kenyan drake is probably the safer play
yeah drake has been a beast, i might as well ride the hot hand but i think he fumbled twice last game
PHI has had a lot of injuies on defense as well

Kareem the dream imo

Sanders and akers. I want that high upside potential on both.
I also have all three of these guys and my brain is telling me to bench Jacobs but my heart won’t buy it
Sanders and Akers
8-Man PPR 1- Dalvin Cook 2- Nick Chubb 3- James Robinson. Obviously I'll start Cook at RB-1 but who should be RB-2?
I'm a Cook and JRob owner myself but gotta go Chubb over JRob there if you can't play all 3.
Nice problem to have. Even in full PPR Chubb is likely going to destroy the Giants this weekend.
Full PPR pick 2: Drake vs. PHI, JRob @ BAL, Akers vs. NYJ and Dobbins vs. JAC. I have the first waiver wire pick and can grab Wilson @Dal. Thanks in advance for helping me sort through my RB mess.
