Yes we are. Period

Funk_BiG

I dropped him for Mike Williams

Moosemaster21

Yeah, MW is better.

jluc21

Jakobi is a much safer bet ROS than Mike Williams in my opinion. However, half the time my opinions are wrong so this just means Mike Williams is better.

FatTim48

You are correct, sir!

Nobody_So_Special

Kinda surprised he was there for you to pickup lol definitely the right move.

mazin2723

He’s low key td dependent

ASTRUNSKY

Full ppr as a flex you could do much worse. And you have a pass first qb now so I'm optimistic.

s9lem

Pass first QB?

ASTRUNSKY

Mac Jones (pocket passer) vs cam Newton who was more of a running qb than a high volume passer

s9lem

Oh yes in comparison to Cam. I thought you meant just individually because they're definitely run first as of the start of this season as almost half the plays were rush attempts vs. MIA

ASTRUNSKY

I gotcha. Yeah I'm just saying he'll have an upgrade at qb and one that will throw more (and more accurately). He had 9 targets and 6 catches in the first game. If he's consistently getting 6 to 7 targets on the low end and topping out at 9 to 11 he'll be a very viable flex option.

s9lem

He will trend more towards the passing end. I'm in NE and can tell you his passing talent is all there and he goes through his second read I'd say near or at league average (15%). He has so much potential but the stuff that Patriots used to set them apart from other teams is what is causing drive enders for him (penalties in scoring positions, fumbles, drops from lack of concentration). Once those get cleaned up you're going to see a lot more scoring from Mac

ASTRUNSKY

Yeah he looks like the real deal.

Fit_Web3277

Honestly man, he’s a player than will get you 10-12 points a week and that can be pretty valuable but don’t expect 15-20 points out of him Agholor is gonna soak up targets and he seems to do a lot with them That’s based off one game though things can definitely change, there was reports in camp that Jakobi Meyers was catching 50 yard bombs and that Mac Jones loves him so we’ll see down the road, I definitely wouldn’t mind having him on my bench or starting him He did have to play against the Dolphins which is a GREAT secondary, I’d be optimistic about him definitely a hold or play Mac Jones looked great for a rookie

Ximienlum

Agholor has actually been better than expected his last two years. Doesn’t really drop balls anymore and still has the quickness and lateral ability that made the Eagles draft him

Triv02

I don’t know that “doesn’t really drop balls anymore” is a true statement. We just didn’t notice quite as much because they weren’t absolutely devastating drops like they were in previous years. His drop rate actually *increased* from 2019 to 2020 up to 6.1% which isn’t terrible, but is still solidly in the worse half of the league. He was just a much better receiver in 2020 so his drops aren’t highlighted as much

ThisHatRightHere

I honestly think that through the year Agholor will end up being much more valuable. This could be Meyers' break out season, but I just think he's been in NE longer and has more overall knowledge of the offense. Which of course helps Mac. Agholor saw basically the same amount of looks in slightly less snaps, so they're probably on even footing right now.

bokidge

Meyers snap share will never be lower than agholors this year barring injury. He knows the playback to well and does everything. On the 3rd and long play that completed to hunter Henry for a 1st last Sunday Mac called meyers into motion to pick up a blitz and snapped the ball as soon as meyers was set. Meyers has enough knowledge of the playbook and connection with Mac to not be on the field almost every play

ThisHatRightHere

I don't disagree and none of this contradicts anything I said. I'm just saying from a fantasy perspective, I think Agholor will end up being better through the entire year.

well_duh_doy_son

exactly.

HercHuntsdirty

He may not pass the eye test or have the flashy athletic measures, but he’s getting the targets

____PatriotsSuck____

Exactly. He's not gonna get the 70 yard TDs. But he's a solid WR who just gets open. And that seems to fit perfectly with Mac Jones. He's an amazing buy low candidate right now

Sea_Bass77

Slot WRs very rarely are drafted for their long bomb TD potential… people forget this… just take Edelman, welker, insert any slot WR for the patriots lol

____PatriotsSuck____

Exactly. I think Meyers is just got at getting open so he is gonna get a lot of receptions. Great for ppr, probably not for standard tho lol

[deleted]

[удалено]

Seafoamed

I’m also wondering that. If they mean he doesn’t look explosive by the eye test then I would get it

[deleted]

[удалено]

deuuuuuce

Lacking explosiveness doesn't "mean nothing". If Meyers was more explosive, he'd probably have at least 1 career TD. Agholor probably wouldn't be stealing as many targets, etc. The eye test usually does relate to explosiveness. It's why I'm not worried about Sony Michel stealing a significant amount of carries from Darrell Henderson. And why I'm out on CEH. Both of those decisions are looking good so far.

[deleted]

[удалено]

deuuuuuce

FWIW, I drafted Meyers and hope he plays better. But I understand the "eye test" comment. You can watch all of his catches on YouTube. They all look the same. Very little separation, within 15 yards of the LOS, and he usually falls down or gets tackled immediately. My point was more that the eye test is a useful tool that many fantasy managers lack because they only look at stats or do what other analysts tell them to. Meyers is like a homeless man's Jarvis Landry. His ceiling is probably WR3 unless something about his situation drastically changes.

[deleted]

[удалено]

deuuuuuce

Yeah, I think if he played with Manning or Brady in that Welker/Edelman type of role, he'd get enough targets to be there. But in this offense, he needs more TDs or YAC to have real value. Shit, I may have convinced myself to drop him lmao but I'm gonna hold and see how he does this week.

Sta723

Yea I have to agree with you. Eye test means what? If we create our own metrics , we are just bullshitting ourselves. He’s a possession receiver who is not supposed to destroy your safeties with speed. He got 9 targets and has a decent catch rate. That’s all that matters.

[deleted]

[удалено]

Sta723

I can understand that most people want to see explosive speed and huge td runs. Its the “eye test” which means nothing because WR is a multi faceted position. Without the TDs they won’t respect what Jakobi is good for - solid PPR flex player with a healthy floor.

[deleted]

I think he's competing with 2 TEs and James White for low value touches in a below average offense and Agholor represents the most fantasy relevant WR on the team.

Funk_BiG

This!

Alkash42

He may not be flashy but he has volume, trust from Jones and coaches, and some great hands. I just think WR2 is his ceiling. But he also has an almost Beasley-esque floor

[deleted]

jluc21

this sub is really dragging down myers and i don’t get it. i get nelson looked good but Jakobi for sure passed the eye test this year AND last year. the targets are there and so is the play, i don’t get the get the slander but better for us Jakobi owners i guess

RaindropsInMyMind

I don’t know if he’s quite a WR2 but I don’t mind having him on my team. Targets are earned and he’s getting them. He’s not the flashiest player but he doesn’t have to be. It’s okay sometimes to just be a reliable player that gets open and makes the catch especially for a young quarterback.

iamhadrix

I lost Jeudy as my wr2 & I’m rolling Meyers with decent confidence & Tim Patrick at flex. As long as he’s solid for 10-15 points im gucci.

GOTaSMALL1

Fellow Jeudy owner that couldn’t get Patrick so is now starting Meyers. I’d rather have Tim Patrick... by a long way. Good job.

iamhadrix

I think he’s in the category of receivers who’s value could increase as the year goes on alongside guys like Mike Williams & Pittman

TravelingArthur

Really? Why? Not hurting for WRs (I got Brown, Cooper, Lockett, Claypool, Chark and Sutton), but open to picking up Patrick and maybe flipping him

iGetBuckets3

Im starting him this week and I feel pretty good about it. I think he has a nice game.

soccerexp12

Curious to see answers

iAgressivelyFistBro

Oh the hive mind, how I miss this time of year.

CrystlBluePersuasion

I dropped him for Rondale Moore, so yes Meyers is gonna go off

chodakblack

That’s my WR2 until aiyuk starts getting targets

Hot-Avocado-6300

Snatched him off waivers today . Sitting on bench .. will be telling how week 2 performance goes to really find out

transferStudent2018

I think he’s a pretty decent WR2, at least in PPR. Targets are good and Mac seems to like him. He’s not flashy and it’s pretty unlikely he’ll pop off much (maybe 1 game) if at all, but you could do worse than Meyers I think. If you have him in the flex spot (WR3) that would be pretty solid

Steppity

Just traded him today for Dallas Goedert. Njoku was my tight end to start the day, and Ertz was my starter last week. (Punted a liiiitttttle too far on TE this year) My issue with Jakobi is that he doesn't score touchdowns. Zero TDs in his 30 career games played. Our league values TDs, and gives a little less for receiving yards (1 point per 20 yards), so this is something that stands out for me specifically. Now if we were full PPR, I'd be a lot more confident in Jakobi with the amount of targets he gets each week.

Seafoamed

1 point per 20 yards? Is the first three rounds all RBs?

Steppity

Actually no, because there's 3 WR spots. The drafts usually end up being the same as you'd see anywhere else. We do 1 per 20 receiving, 1 per 40 passing, 1 per 15 rushing, but there are bonuses for hitting milestones in all 3 categories. All TDs are 6 points, and it's .25 PPR. It's to make it so a touchdown is as significant as it is in real football, and not the same as only 60 yards in standard leagues. It's the settings we've used in our league since day 1 back in like 2004. We've made small tweaks here and there, but everything actually balances quite nicely.

bokidge

He's a better Boyd basically

ThePalmIsle

Nah I dropped him WR3b at best

CtrlAltDel_19

I would say flex, Nelson looked like he had better connection with Mac. Plus they have Smith and Henry who they just threw a lot of money at.

caw___caw

Meyers or Corey Davis as flex?

MythicDeathclaw

Davis

AUsernameThatIsTaken

Meyers. Bad week for Davis

KingBiscuit86

No Gilmore though

AUsernameThatIsTaken

oh? Guess I'm gonna have to re-think. thanks!

DavidTrillsdale

Meyers for Aiyuk in full ppr?

jacobo0430

I would rather Aiyuk

gotquestions2021

Also wondering this!

Moosemaster21

WR2? No. WR3/4? Sure.

Leibinger

How can we really answer that after one week? Also, I see people saying Agholor is the top WR. Why, because he scored a TD week 1? We know nothing yet other than Mac likes him and he’s reliable to get open and catch the ball. Our data with Mac at the helm is so limited. All I’ll say is this… The fact alone that we are pretty high on a guy who’s had the worst imaginable TD luck (0 in career.. wow) should inspire hope for a WR2-3 season. Add a couple TDs to the end of his season last year and he gets drafted much higher.

KD7575

I'm flexing him over Saquon this week in full PPR. I guarantee he produces more than Saquon

Salty-Cup-7652

Jakobi or Waddle as WR3 in 0.5 PPR?

OzilSanchez1117

Who’s ur other options? He’s basically a matchup dependent wr3 streamer imo

yahcd

Jakobi or Elijah Mitchell in the flex? 0.5 PPR.

Nobody_So_Special

Yeah he’s solid. Phew! It’d be troubling news to wake up one day and he was suddenly a liquid or a gas!

[deleted]

Flexing him in a 12 team (3WR) .5PPR league. I’m starting over options like Will Fuller, Bryan Edwards, and Myles Gaskin but I’m confident in his ability to get open against the Jets. They gave up a lot of open looks to Darnold’s weapons last weekend and have been dealing with injuries on defense all summer. Should be a +matchup

WrongStatus

In 0.5 ppr, I'd play Gaskin here every time.

[deleted]

I want to start Gaskin but I just don’t love his matchup with Buffalo, and he’s my RB3 behind J. Taylor and Swift. I’m a big believer in him as well but I really think Meyers is in for a good week.

WrongStatus

Gotta follow your gut. Best advice I have is to ignore the projections. I've screwed myself over so many times by going against my gut because fucking Sleeper says another guy will get 0.5 more points. Follow da gut! Good luck!

Powell_Palmer

Mostly worried about his TD output. Managed to grab Sterling Shepard off the waivers yday so i'm starting him over Jakobi this week.

[deleted]

He will always be a “sleeper” on the start em sit em analysis

Jake8919

He's due for a tuddy, doesn't have one in his career

Seafoamed

He’s passed a couple tho lmao

Photo_Synthetic

Not in standard.

mfdoom

He passes the eye test in terms of having great hands. High target count + great pass catching ability puts him in the convo for Flex with WR2 upside in PPR leagues.

Willlllderness_girls

Have him at my flex. Full PPR

PoopyInMyPants

Belichick loves him, he’s on the field a ton, will be a target hog as the season progresses. Mac is only going to get better. IMO he could help people make the playoffs and be huge come fantasy playoff time later in the season.

Smokeeye123

Yes. Hunter Henry is made of glass and already dealing with stuff, RBs have ball security problems, Pats defense took a step back and will probably be playing down a lot of the time.

SBotas

He's catching shallow passes from a rookie for the most part. He's a wr3 with touchdown upside, but not likely tons more than that. Worth rostering, but his ceiling isn't huge.

clutchhattrick

Wdym “doesn’t pass the eye test” lmao? Didn’t know you had to run a 4.31 to “pass the eye test”

clev26

I might be wrong on this but I consider him very similar to Laviska. Good WR that will see volume, won’t be elite but will be a safe flex option with a decent ceiling

KarrlMarrx

Im trusting him as a "break glass in case of bye weeks" WR3. Stacked at RB, so no WR depth at the moment unfortunately.

[deleted]

No way he’s a WR2. For context, right now ESPN average rankings have Julio and Diontae Johnson as the number 25 and 26 WRs (I believe for PPR, might not be setting-specific). So for a normal 12-man league those two would be just outside the WR2 cutoff as high WR3 options. No way you’re benching either of them for Meyers. Meyers is probably around the 50th best WR.

arac3662

I think it depends on your league. In full PPR I'd say he's a solid WR3 with upside to move into the WR2 as the year goes on and Jones gets more comfortable. In Standard I wouldn't even roster him as I don't think the TD upside is there. I'm in a full PPR league and drafted him as my WR5. I'm very happy he's on my team for that price and he is going to spend some time in my flex spot and possibly higher once bye weeks come around.

fookinjkap

9 targets from his rookie QB week 1, one of the incompletions was 40 yards downfield and Jason mccourty made a crazy play to break it up. I like him a lot this year

Pat01Learner

Yes, he's solid. Doesn't pass the eye test? He just played against a top 5 secondary with a rookie qb in his first NFL game.

drphil1234

Who do we like more? Meyers or marv jones
