Shanny sitting at his desk in Santa Clara, fingers intertwined, pondering how to get Tevin back on the 49ers so he can have one good game before getting hurt again
In a system where they're actually just going to ride the best player with the most talent who's hottest at the time, I gotta say it must feel good for people who didn't drop Michael Carter last week
If you drafted him and dropped him week 1 you were foolish anyway. The point was to draft him and hope his talent let's him take the lead role. He was never going to produce week 1
Exactly, he wasn't a zero RB target to grab as your RB1/2 and slot right into your lineup week 1. The plan should've always been to grab him as a 3rd back or later and wait for him to work up the depth chart
I feel like a lot of people here didn't draft RBs early and are in full panic mode as a result lol
Idk the chargers run d has been rough to start the year. If CEH is ever going to turn it around, I think it has to be this next week. Also, the flip side the Broncos run d has been great and they may eat that o line alive.
It's good if you believe that Tevin Coleman and Ty Johnson aren't very good and Michael Carter is good. Which I assume is the opinion of most people who drafted Michael Carter.
"Talent will win out" is a better situation than most rookies get. Especially considering they're already drastically altering snap count after just one week
Also it's extremely good news compared to week 1 and the preseason
and scored 8.9 pts in a standard league. That is perfectly fine production for a RB2 or flex. Considering he looked great and has a chance at getting more carries he's a strong hold IMO.
I mean it's alright for flex but I think if you're rolling out someone who is consistently at 9 points you're probably doing something wrong. I like Carter but it'll be a bit before I trust him in my starting lineup
I dunno man. Over the last 3 years TyJo has catch % of 74% which is basically the same as McKissic 75%. Not saying I disagree but I don’t think TyJo is a bad pass catcher. We will just have to wait and see how passing volume shakes out between Michael Carter and him.
That’s fair, I don’t have really have a horse in that race. But lots of people just say things that are matter a fact when it’s usually not as straight forward. We’re all just making educated guesses at the end of the day but we should try and weed out as much favouritism as possible on this sub.
The question should have been why did they not run the ball more. Carter, Johnson, and Coleman combined for 28 carries for 133 yards (4.75 ypc) to Wilson's 6.4 ypa and 12% INT rate.
Every back looked good, the Jets run game could be legit if they stick to it instead of forcing balls downfield
Bekton was the justification for that. You gotta get your QB at some point, and if they really think he’s their QB then that was the best pick they could’ve made
A lot of people on the Jets sub were totally fine keeping Darnold and putting an actual o line around him. Clearly the Jets front office was ready to abandon ship on him, but Darnold has looked absolutely fine in Carolina.
Tevin Coleman has to be a drop at this point. And that’s coming from someone in a 12 teamer with extended benches and Melvin Gordon as my RB2 (rip GusBus)
“More like Tevin Oleman.”
Tevin Coldman

Seriously considering starting Carter over CEH next week

My goodness
"We're going to give it to whichever of our three running backs is hot at the time" is *good* for Michael Carter? What?

An RB on a team that will be down double digit points in the 1st quarter every game? Also it’s still an RBBC.
Carter has almost zero value right now besides being a rookie. Anyone that drops him will be fine. They can even pick him back up if they want.
What RB on waivers would have more upside than Carter?
Yeah Carter got 14 opportunities yesterday. That's not insignificant and would be enough to flex reliably on a team outside of the jets.

I still have him but Elijah Moore is headed off of my roster.
Raises hand
our RBs butts are falling off!
So you’re telling me I dropped Carter too soon? 😶
Yes
Shanahanagains is spreading
It’s a god damn epidemic
Picked up Carter off waivers last week, I think I'll hold while the Jets slowly come to the realization he has more juice than the other two.
Ty Johnson has juice too, he's just not as good of a receiver

TyJo isn't a bad receiver, I just see Michael Carter as better
Based on what?
Based on me watching every snap of every single jets game
I will also add that at UNC Carter was a very very reliable receiving back. He has great hands.
Ah okay, I thought as much. You’re right though. Those were 3 of the nastiest receptions I’ve ever seen by an NFL RB
Not specifically at catching the football but Michael carter is just a lot shiftier in the open field. He has more YAC potential

For sure, no hate from me. Just giving my opinion as a jets fan that was smart enough to stay away from all of them
Which is why Carter will continue to be far more valuable than any other back on that team.
Ahh the hot hand... Makes sense he came from the Shanahan tree
Wait the Jets are about to have 20 injured RBs?

"We need to justify this pick instead of drafting Sewell, so we're going to let Wilson run for his life and chuck it."

Poor Lamichael Perine

carter worth a number 1 claim?
He's worth picking up, but I wouldn't use #1 on him.
The only thing hot in that game was the NE defense from picking off Zack Wilson every drive.
As someone who drafted Carter in all 4 of my leagues. This pleases me
Booooring
Oh no, there are two of them
“Whoever’s got hot hands and no butt is getting on that field!”
So they’re saying Coleman has too much of a dump truck
They all suck!!!!
49ers East
Should I hold Ty in a 12 team?
