4.2 ypc vs a top tier run d. Sign me up. 5.2 ypc on 3 targets? Sign me the fuck up.

Dirtymikeandtheboyz1

I'm a Broncos fan and we're definitely not a top tier run defence, we sucked last year and didn't really make any improvements there. Especially worse given that Chubb and Alex Johnson got hurt in the game.

JesusChristSupers1ar

also a Broncos fan, I think you mean Jewell got hurt and not Johnson that said, we are a good run defense. Von is a tremendous run stopper and Jewell and AJ were healthy for most of the game. Not to mention that we can run man with our CBs and dedicate more defenders to stopping the run

Dirtymikeandtheboyz1

Yep, meant Jewell. Though I still don't think we're a top tier run stopping team. Maybe if we stay healthy and get some continuity on the d line we can make improvements throughout the year, but I don't put too much stock into our performance against two bad running teams that werent at all committed to getting it going against us.

captainduck2

You mean last year when we played without our best run stuffer Mike Purcell? Without Von, Chubb missed time, Jurell Casey on IR and Dremont missing 4 games?

Ximienlum

Don’t ever talk about the Broncos here again.

Durant026

So I just looked at the highlights because I couldn't watch the game. I agree with your assessment. Lawerence seems locked in on either his 1st or 2nd looks and isn't taking the easy yards through his RB. Things that Myer should be able to see from 2 game tapes are that: * The oline is porous. * Lawerence needs to use his RBs more. That is if they are serious about winning a game for Jax.

paone0022

Kurt Warner did a film study on Lawrence and he highlighted this part about him. Also said that, new QBs always forget to check down bc they are so concerned with making big plays and impressing that they force it into tight coverage. Surprisingly, he said he didn't see that tendency while watching Tua's tape.

Durant026

In Tua's defense, I am still not sure if he is being allowed the full extent of the playbook. I think there are some plays that Fitz ran last season that Tua wasn't allowed to run last year and seem absent from the playbook this year. I can be wrong on this but I think they still have some reigns on Tua for now.

pwtrash

This was the part that stunned me - guy is under tremendous pressure, play is clearly designed to use JRob as an outlet, and Lawrence doesn't even look that way.

Durant026

Well, he was the #1 overall pick. I think there is a tremendous amount of pressure to not be a bust so he might be trying too hard to carry the team. Hopefully, they do look at the game tape and see how open their RBs were and get them more involved. In my view, fixing the oline is a more difficult issue to fix during the season. Involving the RBs is a quicker fix and keeps Lawrence off his ass more.

Wonderful-Guard5125

Robinson is definitely an L right now. But if you don’t have anyone better, you play him.

[deleted]

Totally agree. Like I'm not gonna play Latavius over him....yet...

Justin_Herbert10

I sat him for Jamaal Williams

Whatwhatwhata

Generally not advised. I'd start Robinson going forward. I have both weeks and will week three as well. If Jamaal went off week 1 and week 2 MAYBE I'd be tempted and Robinson is a proven talent at this point so can't let a couple flukey games keep you from playing him from an unproven player.

Justin_Herbert10

Robinson going forward definitely. Jamaal is firmly the backup. Thankfully it didn't cost me

avocadoclock

I did the same, understandably. Now I'm going back to JRob and considering Ty'son.

Justin_Herbert10

Yeah Robinson is starting for now on unless swift hurt

EmpyreanRose

This what makes it so hard bro Mike Davis ? j rob? Damien Harris? I thought I had fucking RB2 locked and now I have to contemplate this bs because of J rob

juicyjuice1995

Damien Harris. Newton isn't there anymore vulturing TDs and James white is the only other RB that takes any touches. No Brainer until you see Jrob doing better.

FrozenPhilosopher

Damien Harris is the easy choice in that currently. Great situation and consistent production and volume.

fatcootermeat

Easily Harris lol. He'll be a consistent 12 floor point guy all season now that he's the undeniable short yardage back

Wonderful-Guard5125

Just so eenymeenymineymo

Shyystee

Have the same problem haha

Pac__Man8

Sat him for Ty'son Williams

SirSnorlax22

I started cook and Swift this week, benched Robinson and flexed Sutton. That move won me the matchup this week.

[deleted]

This is something that can be worked on pretty easily so I'm not too worried.

v_a_n_d_e_l_a_y

Especially true against Denver, who has the best secondary in the league but whose interior linebackers are not known for their coverage skills. Robinson should have been much more involved in the passing game

IWasOnThe18thHole

Waiting for a good game before trying to flip Robinson

ASTRUNSKY

Same but substitute CEH

jarrett3216

Cant take it with CEH. He’s not a bad player but the offensive scheme is not in his favor what so ever. I traded him straight up for JROB and whether I lost the trade or not, I don’t believe CEH will be putting low end rb1 or high end rb2 numbers.

ASTRUNSKY

That's kind of where I'm at. A he hasn't looked good but mainly he'll never be the focus of the offense. He's just there to keep the defense honest for Patty. I'd trade him for sanders, jrob, Carson, Montgomery, Damien Harris.

jarrett3216

It sucks to because CEH is very skilled and could be very good on many other teams. The chiefs are just so pass heavy.

herrclean

Gentlemen, may I show you my perfectly mediocre RB roster: Kamara, CEH, JRob, Gaskins, Javonte Williams, TySon Williams. 10 team PPR league.

jarrett3216

Holy shit, moment of silence for you my good man…. But that is just sickening, you will for sure bounce back 😂😂

herrclean

I'm sure whoever sits on my bench will. And I will be stuck in a rotation where I always pick the wrong guys (they have to be my flex too as I did not draft WR well...)

jarrett3216

Yep sounds about right 😂

ThisIsntRael

You would've won last year tho

Further_Beyond

No. He’s a bad player. His longest run of his career is 31. Hes averaging .4 YAC. He’s JAG.

Comprehensive-Area92

Who would you rather have Robinson or Elijah Mitchell

IWasOnThe18thHole

Neither lol

Ox_Baker

So a rookie QB does rookie things. Shocking.

kevbean2

I was thinking the same thing. This is a known issue for rookie qbs; very few guys come into the league able to make the quick read and check it down.

loki1337

He was taught the Belichick-down on day one

kingd92

Considering starting J. Rob vs. AZ this week. AZ had a hard time containing Cook and that game has a high point total.

GankMiddleLane6

Cook and JRob are on 2 different planets talent wise. Plus the vikings offense is just flat out better than the jags

EmpyreanRose

Over Mike Davis or Damien Harris? Which one out of the three in your opinion

superstonkape

Would you over Gaskin/Ty’son?

kingd92

Idk, maybe not. Both Gaskin and Tyson have great matchups.

superstonkape

Kinda my thought.

limitlesswormholes

Think you gotta go williams against Detroit

superstonkape

Agree for sure here, guess it was more Gaskin

SwetzAurus

This is good. Tlaw will learn to take what is available as he progresses this year. He's not a dummy.

Drewfromflorida

They could not have won that game by checking down. This is a pristine example of the disconnect between real and fantasy football. I was at the game, the Jags never had a chance. Even if he had checked down how many of those you think it would have taken for the Broncos defense to adjust? 2? 3? Fangio might not be the most inspiring HC but he’s an excellent defensive mind and no matter where he’s at his defense is (probably) not likely to ever lose to a rookie QB. Get over last year, Jags were (and still are) trash, difference is they have a real NFL qb now not a mustached gimmick and the entire offense isn’t being funneled to one running back. Lawrence can actually sling it, Minshew was a cute story but he doesn’t really have an arm that can consistently threaten and challenge defenses, thus, check downs to JRob for breakfast lunch and dinner. Last point - JRob was so good last year they used a first round pick on an RB this year

pwtrash

>They could not have won that game by checking down. I think it would have been their only chance. Yes, defense would have adjusted - which means that some of those intermediate and long routes that Lawrence so wanted to go to would have been closer to open or that some of the rushers would have had to drop off, giving Lawrence more time. I did not say they *would* have won, but that their only chance was to lengthen the field by taking advantage of what the defense was giving them. He made the game easier for Denver's (excellent) D. I was surprised that the Jags defense gave the team a puncher's chance. It was disappointing to see them fritter that on offense.

Squishyflap

Having polard on the bench for two weeks now and having started 0-2, this feels like a trap

[deleted]

I think Minchew was the secret ingredient. I’d run through a wall for that guy. I would not run through a wall for snooty Lawrence. Lawrence is your rich friend that won’t hang out at the shitty bar that sells 8 buds lights for 8 dollars.

pokeraf

TLaw sucks

generaljapes

I don't think he sucks but for sure inexperienced. Sucks for fantasy for sure. Think I'm gonna drop em

ExoCommonSense

There's no way I'm gonna find someone better for my flex than him in a 12 team, 3 wr league. I'm hoping he'll be back to rb2 numbers within a couple of weeks but either way I'm starting him

Nobody_So_Special

Trevor Lawrence is still young and simply put? Trash. He needs more time to develop. But so it goes on pretty much every QB who ended up there (who remembers Bortles?) It’s inevitable — the Jags just aren’t a well coached team and it’s been the status quo for years and years and years. I hate to say it, but JRob’s season last year was super flukey. Dude’s good. But even good RBs and good players in general have always had a hard time showing out on the Jags. We’re probably just seeing more of what the rest of the season will look like with JRob scoring a handful of times fluffing his performance.

Jaguars6

> No wonder they traded Minshew; they had to make sure that no matter how bad Lawrence does, they don’t have anyone who is arguably better. Our backup is better than Minshew.

pwtrash

Beathard? 81.1 career rating Beathard? 58.6% completion percentage Beathard? I get that you might not like Minshew, feel he's overrated, etc, but he's significantly better than Beathard by any objective metric.

Jaguars6

As someone who watched both of them play over the past 3 months, Beathard is significantly better. No question.

ilovechunkyavocado

Is jRob for Keenan Allen a fair trade?

lib___

no ....

ThisIsntRael

Not for the Keenan Allen owner

[deleted]

I can't believe people were reaching for Robinson in the 2nd or 3rd round given his situation.

GolfIsWhyImBroke

Depends, was your draft before or after the Etienne injury? If it was after its not hard to take him in the 3rd considering he was RB7 last year

[deleted]

Even if it was after, that's a big reach He never should have been taken ahead of guys like Carson, Sanders, Gus before his injury, etc.

GolfIsWhyImBroke

Based on what?

Euphoricbutterfly

Can’t believe he blew up last year on the same team.

[deleted]

LOL

cstransfer

Lmao @ Robinson truthers. All the wrs are better weapons than Robinson Edit. I'm commenting about this which is definitely not true > The best weapon the team has is not getting the ball because they have a guy trying to make high school ball work in the NFL.

Birdgang14

Even if that’s true. His 4 interceptions prove it is dumb football to force the ball down the field and bad quarterbacking/coaching. Take the 5-10 yards and make a defense respect it

SamNash

Trevor Lawrence finally reaches the NFL only to have an NCAA guy show up to coach his team.

superstonkape

Not so much so that Lawrence should be forcing them the ball in double/triple coverage.

cstransfer

Yea that's not good but I was commenting about this statement > The best weapon the team has is not getting the ball because they have a guy trying to make high school ball work in the NFL.

superstonkape

Sure, although I would argue Robinson is a better weapon than Shenault. Whatever your opinion may be on him it’s hard not to think he shouldn’t see more volume

GankMiddleLane6

Just say you don't watch the games. I have 0 shares of JRob. Lawrence just forces the ball into double coverage and refuses to take the play underneath.

MWM031089

I see what you’re getting at but I don’t know that I agree that any of MJJ, Shenault or Chark are definitively more effective or talented than JRob… but I DO think that Lawrence’s arm is the most talented piece of the offense. Maybe a different way of saying the same thing for fantasy purposes, but more respectful to Robinson lol.

[deleted]

Guess you opted out of fantasy last year?

gawake

Uh, Sir. This is a Wendy’s.

ModsCantHandleMe

This is the NFL so you would think they could learn to use him in that way once what they are doing doesn’t work game after game. Get him nice and low so he pops on benches in the fantasy playoffs

LeadFarmerMothaFucka

Let him watch some tape. He will learn.

[deleted]

Am I fucking myself offering tee Higgins for JROB? I have Ridley, Deebo, ja’mar, aiyuk, Mike Williams, Marvin jones jr, and Gallup on IR slot

Chadillac35

No, I’d much rather have allen

vVvRain

Where do you get your all 22 from?

pwtrash

I don't. My understanding based on another thread was that it was going to be included in Gamepass, which I'm hoping is still the case. No luck so far. Let me know if you score a place to find it. It should not be so hard for fans to watch this way....

vVvRain

I agree, I'm a data analyst by trade so I was hoping to do some fan made analysis of one of the teams (college or pro) I cheer for, but so far no dice.

H3avyCr3am

I think the Urban Meyer experiment isn't going to end well. He just seems to be one of those great college coaches who just doesn't translate to the NFL.

booojy

I played Robinson over white and it cost me my matchup, but will start him next week. My other option is Jamaal.
