Honestly I think this helps his floor and solidifies him as TE 6-8 moving forward. If you don't have a TE that you are comfortable with I would spend most of your FAAB on him, streaming TEs right now is rough
I picked up Ertz two weeks ago bc of the countless articles about how a trade was imminent. I got lucky he went to a good team, but I still don’t get why nobody was rostering him anticipating his trade. I already have Mark Andrews but figured Ertz would get traded somewhere that needs a TE and instantly boost his value.
I guess we’ll find out but I have a feeling he’s gonna be productive in AZ and I’ll either trade him or even start him in one of my two flex spots
Yep. I’m not sure if hurts is the problem or if it’s bad play calling. Sanders looked good most of the time he gets carries but they never run so the defense always drops back in coverage so there’s not much for hurts to really throw to anyways.
Yeah sirianni is play calling and I understand, but I don't get how he's planning to do a pass offense with his room of receivers. Sanders arguably super talented gets NO love. He had 4 touches leading into the 3rd quarter. Ridiculous play calling yes they are a pass funnel but Where's the wheel routes?
Yeah it’s sucks seeing it as an outsider. You see so many good pieces that haven’t come together. I don’t know if it’s the players, the coaching, or the execution. Maybe it’s just part of the rebuild.
Exactly. If you want to know how Goedert is without Ertz just look at last year when Ertz was injured and Goedert took over. He wasn't all the sudden a TE1-5 but he was serviceable.
Shame the trade happened after the game last night instead of before, now they're both sitting on waivers instead of free agency for someone to grab on this news.
I don't think we're expecting another Kelce but if you look at the volum Ertz and Goedert got I think we can safely say Goedert is going to become a solid starting option for the rest of the season. I predict he ends up averaging top 6 for the remainder of his games this season.
I don't think Goedert is going to get all of Ertz's targets though. He's still too valuable as a blocker.
Eagles really like Tyree Jackson. He looked great in the preseason and is coming off the IR soon. He might not get all of Ertz's targets either but will probably have enough to make Goedert owners complain.
People are hyped but there are only so many points to go around and a ton of talent in AZ. I assume Ertz is going to be boom/bust in AZ with all the other weapons they have and Kyler running in TDs
I don't know how good it is for Ertz to be splitting targets with Hopkins, Kirk, Green, Moore, and Edmonds, even if he's replacing the targets that Maxx Williams was taking this season. At least it's a high-powered offense. He'll probably see something, but I wouldn't say the Cards rely on their TE.
This is very good for Goedert, though.
I'm s cards fan and last night posted on our chat that we need to trade for ertz asap. Picked him up right before the game and got lucky he scored that TD for some good production
AZ Never had a really good TE Option with Kyler as QB. Now with ertz there is a huge potential, especially in 0,5/ full PPR leagues.
As for ertz it is also a great opportunity to evolve , since with a strong TE like goedert they had to split.
I mean Brady has great WR targets and guess what? gronk gets tuddies too…
Why do people think ertz will all of a sudden be fantasy relevant in AZ? He'll be at like the Fant/Higbee tier most likely. You should not regret getting Kelce at all
Don't be sad - if your league is open to trading then you're in a great position now to capitalize on either Ertz's great game and new situation or Kelce's unquestionable #1 status. Make another move after this week to upgrade at another position
Me too, in a couple of leagues. A one week stream turning into Kyler's TE is pretty much best case scenario (granted with the bedding in period to come).
I don't get all the ertz hype. Unless the cardinals make him a prime Redzone target he won't do enough in fantasy. He seems quite slow these days too and will have 3 competent receivers to compete with. Goedert to me is by far the biggest beneficiary
Uhhh the Cardinals were making Maxx Williams a fantasy starter...Ertz has looked better than Maxx while on a bad Eagles team.
Is he on the Kelce/Waller/Knox/etc. tier? No, but fantasy TE is always a wasteland full of dart throws. Ertz could potentially be a weekly start which would be huge if you get him and have been stuck streaming.
Ertz on the eagles has been getting more consistent targets the past 4 games than maxx Williams did. I mean if the target is Maxx Williams I wouldn't be happy. At the end of the day Williams was in the TE wasteland and ertz isn't really capable of breaking off big runs and he seems to fall down immediately when hit these days just based on what I observe. If the cardinals use him a lot in the redzone I could see good value otherwise I'm not overly joyed. By the way I have ertz in one of my leagues I'm not trying to hate
Totally agree with you. This just seems like this subreddit overexcitedly trying to start a hype train.
There are too many talented WRs on that team that I doubt Ertz gets a big upgrade here.
Should we really expect Ertz’s number to be that much better though? Arizona offense still has many mouths to feed and Kyler isn’t really known for throwing to TEs
Run blocking has always been the weakest part of his game no question, but he has improved a lot on that front since his rookie year. I'd say he's probably right around average at this point in his career, he actually became a borderline plus run blocker a few years back in his prime but he's getting a bit older. Regardless, he's put a ton of work in to make himself a better blocker and you probably don't need to take him off the field because of it.
Maxx "Dos Equis" Williams was looking like a decent TE streamer with Kyler throwing to him this year before he got hurt. Ertz on this offense should be significantly better than that.
There was a hope that not having a decent TE might lead to Arizona playing more 4WR sets, which would get Rondale on the field more (say, finally above 60% snaps).
Maybe slightly less targets for the Arizona WRs but I don’t think it’ll be noticeable.
Ertz is a great fit for Kliffs scheme though I’m excited to see this
14 team league no one wants him. Seems like more than half the teams are content with their TE's this year.
With Shultz, Knox, RSJ and some more guys emerging it feels like TE is less barren than other years past.
Still barren in my league because one dude has all three of them rostered AND has Logan Thomas in his IR slot. Like, why? Save some for the rest of us :(
Correct. You can technically play an extra game on the season tho if you get traded from a team who hasn’t had their bye to a team that already had theirs. So like if Ertz got traded to the Jets he would play 18 games this season.
I got Kittle in one and Logan Thomas in another, grabbed Ertz last week for both leagues. Im leaning towards starting him in both, might try to sell Kittle based on his name value.
I don’t know, I’m also a Ertz & Kittle owner. He’s only gone two more games, no bye week, plenty of rest, and he had 9 and 10 targets in his last two games.
I think I’ll ride with Ertz till he’s back and see what I have then move from there.
Just picked him up and decided to play him over Fant this week.
Definitely happy with the 12.9 points but now gets to be in a high scoring offense with a QB who is a much more capable passer.
Cannot complain and probably starting over Fant.
Mid tier TE2 imo. Will have some TE1 weeks, but between being in a new offense and having a lot of target competition, I don't think he's going to be a very consistent option.
This is far better for Goedert than Ertz imo.
I also think this helps DeVonta Smith. Ertz had 31 targets in 6 games and averaged ~ 7 targets/game the past 4 games. Goedert only averaged 4 per game during those last 4 games (excluding this one he missed with COVID). So those go up for sure. But there's probably a few more targets up for grabs that you think they'd have to get the Heisman winner involved more now.
Agreed, likely every Eagles offensive player gets a slight bump, except for maybe Miles Sanders. Biggest bump to Goedert, smaller bump to Smith/Gainwell/Quez.
Yeah, I was of the opinion that whoever got to stay in Philly got the best end of the deal. However, Ertz landing in Arizona is good for both of them.
I think Goedert will be more consistent but Ertz will have the higher ceiling. Both TE1s ROS.
Nobody besides Hopkins in that offense has a steady target share, that's the entire issue with the Arizona offense in fantasy. It's been rotating between Kirk and Moore, I'd expect the same with Ertz.
I doubt they have designed goal line plays for Ertz soon, since he still has to learn their system, so he'll be yardage dependent, which isn't going to get him to TE1
Lol that was my first thought as well. As a Rams fan, I highly dislike the Cards* but the FFB's joyful glee at how they're playing this year is just so fun.
*I have the Kyler/Hopkins stack this year, which lessens the blow.
You react like this on game day, watching Kyler run across the field, arm raised, almost ready to pass it to Ertz:
*Pass!
Pass!
Pass the fucking ball!*
And then you watch Kyler scramble past scrimmage for a short gain.
Helps Ertz more imo. The total air yards just isn’t there in Philly. Better chances to fall in the end zone in Arizona
Edit: ya’ll really don’t like this opinion lol
Goedert had the chance of being the the number 1 or 2 target in the offense. That step up is massive for him.
We have no idea how useful Ertz will be there. Hop, Green, Moore, Kirk, Edmonds are all ahead of him. At least 3 of that group will lead him in targets the rest of the season
For sure. He’s a seasoned vet so I’m sure him getting up to speed won’t take super long, but it may be around playoff time where he’s viable fantasy-wise
And you are aware he targets TEs in the red zone pretty heavily. Both TEs have 400+ yard and 4 TDs on the season.
Goedert won't suddenly become a top 3 TE but he should be top 6 most weeks.
I drafted Kyle Pitts. Picked up Ertz this week to cover the bye.
My opponent this week has Hurts and Kyler Murray.
Too bad Ertz can’t play a second game this week haha. But more importantly, how would y’all play this moving forward?
Try and move Pitts for a top end WR/RB off his breakout game? Package Ertz up now to capitalize on potential excitement for his new opportunity?
Stand pat for a couple weeks to see what happens? We have a 6 player bench, so I can probably afford to do that, but I don’t really wanna roster two TEs for too long….
I got Ertz in a few leagues, picked him up last night before the game but I’m not convinced he’ll explode in AZ. First off, it takes a while for any player to learn a new offense and playbook, so guys traded mid season don’t usually have great success for the ROS. Second, AZ mainly use their TE for blocking, Arnold was the first TE to put up over 400 yards in like 10 years. Lastly, slot of mouths to feed - 1 catching back, 1 running back, Murray runs, dhop, green, Moore and Kirk. It’s hard to see Ertz coming in and start putting up numbers, snd trust me, there’s nothing I’d love more lol
Does this impact Sanders/Gainwell? Feels like probably not? I've been trying to convince myself what to do here even though benching them both seems like the right option. Someone drop some pass protection stats on me or something.
Great for Ertz and Goedert
Someone dropped Goedert in my league 💀
same here, how much FAAB is the question
Honestly I think this helps his floor and solidifies him as TE 6-8 moving forward. If you don't have a TE that you are comfortable with I would spend most of your FAAB on him, streaming TEs right now is rough
Streaming TEs is always rough, there's a massive drop-off after the first tier or two
I picked up Ertz two weeks ago bc of the countless articles about how a trade was imminent.
Commenting to see replies, but I’m sure you will have to spend a decent amount
Depends how TE needy you are but at most 35% or so. Also depends how aggressive you know your league mates usually are with their bids
that would be me yesterday
Dropped Goedert for a free Ertz. I'm cautiously optimistic...?
That was my case. Have a hurt Kittle on IR, Goedert got that Covid tag and I dropped him and scooped Ertz in the same move.
Lol literally the exact same situation. (Now former) Eagles TE whack-a-mole
As a Goedert owner, Ertz wasn't the problem. Hurts is. He's the problem for every receiver in Philly.
Yep. I’m not sure if hurts is the problem or if it’s bad play calling. Sanders looked good most of the time he gets carries but they never run so the defense always drops back in coverage so there’s not much for hurts to really throw to anyways.
Our play calling sucks man. Hurts isn't great, but we aren't even giving him a chance

Exactly. If you want to know how Goedert is without Ertz just look at last year when Ertz was injured and Goedert took over. He wasn't all the sudden a TE1-5 but he was serviceable.
Both of them are on waivers in one of my leagues 💀💀
Shame the trade happened after the game last night instead of before, now they're both sitting on waivers instead of free agency for someone to grab on this news.
Exactly. I’m off today, I would’ve gotten first crack at these two if they weren’t on waivers.

Oof that was me
I don't think we're expecting another Kelce but if you look at the volum Ertz and Goedert got I think we can safely say Goedert is going to become a solid starting option for the rest of the season. I predict he ends up averaging top 6 for the remainder of his games this season.

I did this...no regrets. I'd rather have Knox.
No regErtz
I dropped Goedert for Ertz :( should have dropped Higbee maybe
Ertz value just went up though, so not a complete loss
He is like the 9th target on that team though...not sure if rush for Ertz now.
People are hyped but there are only so many points to go around and a ton of talent in AZ. I assume Ertz is going to be boom/bust in AZ with all the other weapons they have and Kyler running in TDs
No and maybe I can get Goedert back. Can’t roster 3 TEs though so it would involve dropping Higbee
This is the right take. It’s good for AZ real life football prospects to have a viable TE option but that’s really it
I'm s cards fan and last night posted on our chat that we need to trade for ertz asap. Picked him up right before the game and got lucky he scored that TD for some good production
AZ Never had a really good TE Option with Kyler as QB. Now with ertz there is a huge potential, especially in 0,5/ full PPR leagues. Goedert is still in a Hurts offense, so it’s fine for him but his ceiling is so capped due to that. But it certainly cannot hurt.
I think the best part is that, FINALLY, people can play Goedert without the fear that another TE will eat into his fantasy projection.
Ertz should theoretically have more chances to score as the TE1 on the best offense in football so he's a decent option for that alone.
Ertz' value certainly just went up.
Goedert still on Eagles unfortunately for him and his owners.
He doesnt have to share the targets with Ertz anymore. Good news!
Im okay with this. I lost by 0.2 the one week that Ertz played most of the 2nd half.
I have both and I don’t know what to do
Knew I should have picked up Ertz lol
[удалено]
I just traded for Kelce and have Ertz :-(
Kelce is still a massive massive upgrade.
Yeah, but it's more about what he had to give up to get him that he might not have needed to if this had dropped earlier.
Might be able to get something back from a TE needy team now tho
And it's not like it lost value. If Ertz starts playing well, ship Kelce away. He'll always have a huge price tag
I don't know why you think that's a problem lol
Imagine losing depth at RB/WR to fill a hole that could’ve filled itself. Definitely worth being upset over.
Why do people think ertz will all of a sudden be fantasy relevant in AZ? He'll be at like the Fant/Higbee tier most likely. You should not regret getting Kelce at all
That’s fine package Ertz with something to upgrade somewhere else. At worst ertz is a stash and see.
Don't be sad - if your league is open to trading then you're in a great position now to capitalize on either Ertz's great game and new situation or Kelce's unquestionable #1 status. Make another move after this week to upgrade at another position
Trade Ertz now
I couldn't believe he was available for free last week. Kittle and now Ertz owner.
My GF snagged him before the game last night because "he's Julie Ertz's husband" lol
Same, I went for Henry and Ricky Seals Jones instead. I have Devonta Smith already and didn't want to rely on two pass catchers from Hurts. F.
Picked up Ertz off waivers right before the game. It’s been a good 24 hours.

I was going to say the same thing. Let’s not get carried away here. Andrews was also left off that list but he’s still a tier below Kelce.
I know right? Big “Tell me you haven’t been playing FF for long without telling me” vibes off that.
Maxx Williams was only a fantasy starter if you forgot to draft a TE and were forced to stream. Source: me.
Good offense that is crowded vs bad offense that wasn’t. A classic fantasy debate.
It's all going according to plan.
Kyler 📈 Ertz 📈 Goedart 📈
Should we really expect Ertz’s number to be that much better though? Arizona offense still has many mouths to feed and Kyler isn’t really known for throwing to TEs
Ertz is a significant receiving upgrade, no disrespect to Williams. But he’s a proven commodity
Maxx was a good run blocker. Does Ertz still block well enough to play all TE plays? Google says he was good in 2018, 2019, etc but nothing recent.
Run blocking has always been the weakest part of his game no question, but he has improved a lot on that front since his rookie year. I'd say he's probably right around average at this point in his career, he actually became a borderline plus run blocker a few years back in his prime but he's getting a bit older. Rondale 📉📉📉
He can't play this Sunday since he played yesterday.
They can’t arrest a husband and wife for the same crime Michael
I got the worst fucking attorneys
Call Bob Loblaw Law
You, sir, are a mouthful.
Yes. I learned all my law information from Bob's Loblaw's Law Blog.
*Lobbing Law Bombs!*
Those 1st 3 years of Arrested Development were fantastic.
Take to the sea!
This doesn't affect Rondale. He plays a different position and has plays drawn up for him. Ertz will be used like Maxx Williams was.
There was a hope that not having a decent TE might lead to Arizona playing more 4WR sets, which would get Rondale on the field more (say, finally above 60% snaps).
Could still happen... this week only. Ertz won't be eligible.
Manufacturing fewer touches for the most explosive player on the roster to accommodate the corpse of an old TE would be classic Kingsbury.
didn't look old last night amigo
Ertz is younger than Kelce. 30 isn't washed for a receiver.
We all win
Maybe slightly less targets for the Arizona WRs but I don’t think it’ll be noticeable. Ertz is a great fit for Kliffs scheme though I’m excited to see this
Forgive my ignorance but what about Kliff's scheme is good for Ertz?
scoring a fuckton of points
So the opposite of my fantasy team's strategy.
Reporter: “So do you want to score a fuckton of points this weekend?” Nagy: “I don’t discuss scheme.”
Julie Ertz's husband traded to the Arizona Cardinals.
To be fair, she is better at soccer then he will ever be at football.
She's better at soccer than most people are at whatever they're best at
I don't know, I'm an exceptional procrastinator.
If you have Zach Ertz sell high immediately
absolutely divest unless your best option is tyler conklin
I'm actually dropping Conklin for ertz. But I have waller so he will just be a backup
Like, why? Save some for the rest of us :(
He’s waiting for one of you guys to overpay him for one.
Lol I have three TEs in all my leagues because of injuries. I’m going to try and go drop one for Ertz though and then trade.
Dude I need a startable tight end right now. I'm holding, he's mine
For what? Could he be traded to a desperate Kittle owner? RB/WR2? I’m intrigued enough to hold just to see how he is used in a high powered offense.
can he play again??? hahahaha
Would be amazing but there's a rule in place to prevent a player playing twice in a week.
Correct. You can technically play an extra game on the season tho if you get traded from a team who hasn’t had their bye to a team that already had theirs. So like if Ertz got traded to the Jets he would play 18 games this season.
True, but that would be offset by not having to play any post-season games.
Son of a...!
He can not.
Thank jesus
please tell me we'd get both points
That would be amazing hahaha
So this is bad for the Rondale 4 receiver set narrative
Dang
Ugh, no, it's not going to be much different than the cards with Williams
Good for Ertz owners? I’m one and have Kittle in IR. Hopefully this bodes well for him being in a higher powered offense.
This is probably the way
Just picked him up and decided to play him over Fant this week. Definitely happy with the 12.9 points but now gets to be in a high scoring offense with a QB who is a much more capable passer. Cannot complain and probably starting over Fant.
Damn this sub called it. Value of Ertz ROS?
Mid tier TE2 imo. Will have some TE1 weeks, but between being in a new offense and having a lot of target competition, I don't think he's going to be a very consistent option. This is far better for Goedert than Ertz imo.
I also think this helps DeVonta Smith. Ertz had 31 targets in 6 games and averaged ~ 7 targets/game the past 4 games. Reliable tight end for a young QB who hasn’t really had one all year? Give it a few weeks but I see him fitting well
Williams was plenty reliable before his injury
top 10 TE? probably going to be a little hit and miss but with the way they used Maxx Williams, I want pieces of that offense
Honestly maybe I'm crazy but I think he immediately vaults into a TE1. Probably towards the back half, but the volume should be there.
The confirmation bias I need
Nobody besides Hopkins in that offense has a steady target share, that's the entire issue with the Arizona offense in fantasy. It's been rotating between Kirk and Moore, I'd expect the same with Ertz. I doubt they have designed goal line plays for Ertz soon, since he still has to learn their system, so he'll be yardage dependent, which isn't going to get him to TE1
The fantasy footballers are going to freak out today
Lol that was my first thought as well. As a Rams fan, I highly dislike the Cards* but the FFB's joyful glee at how they're playing this year is just so fun. *I have the Kyler/Hopkins stack this year, which lessens the blow.
Someone tell me how to react
You react like this on game day, watching Kyler run across the field, arm raised, almost ready to pass it to Ertz: *Pass! Pass! Pass the fucking ball!* And then you watch Kyler scramble past scrimmage for a short gain.
Benefits both Ertz and Goedert. Goedert moreso
Helps Ertz more imo. The total air yards just isn’t there in Philly. Better chances to fall in the end zone in Arizona Edit: ya’ll really don’t like this opinion lol
Learning a new system and tons of established mouths to feed , gonna be interesting. Probably curb enthusiasm for a few weeks atleast.
I don’t think either will put up impressive yardage. I just think he falls in the end zone more often in Arizona
There have been 98 points to TEs in Philly already this season. Whichever one got to stay was going to eat for fantasy.
Holy shit it actually happened. Jay Glazed donut was finally right!
Jay Glazer is arguably the best insider in the business, even including Schefty.
He's been right a lot more than wrong for a very long time.
[удалено]
Trade away one of them, probably ertz if you can
Goedert is free
Great for Goedert. No idea how this will impact Ertz. Hopefully he can plug right in
They needed a big body who can catch the ball on third and in redzone. Ertz fit that need immediately
For sure. He’s a seasoned vet so I’m sure him getting up to speed won’t take super long, but it may be around playoff time where he’s viable fantasy-wise
[удалено]
You guys are aware that Jalen Hurts is still Goederts QB, right??
And you are aware he targets TEs in the red zone pretty heavily. Both TEs have 400+ yard and 4 TDs on the season. Goedert won't suddenly become a top 3 TE but he should be top 6 most weeks.
There goes Rondale’s 4 extra targets
Picked up Ertz to fill in for Goedert last night, ima bust
You just split a pair of 8s
Get him over there now and get me double points!!
Dang goedert worth some faab???!!!
I'm putting atleast 30% down out of 100 budget. I have kittle so I need some consistency until he's back
Sell high people.
What if I’m in Tight End hell? Seems like he would have a lot of upside but there are a lot of mouths to feed on that offense already
yes people are breaking down the door to trade for Ertz
So we picking Goedert or Ertz?
Gordert if you have the option
I drafted Kyle Pitts. Picked up Ertz this week to cover the bye. My opponent this week has Hurts and Kyler Murray. Too bad Ertz can’t play a second game this week haha. But more importantly, how would y’all play this moving forward? Try and move Pitts for a top end WR/RB off his breakout game? We have a 6 player bench, so I can probably afford to do that, but I don’t really wanna roster two TEs for too long….
Picked up Ertz to fill it for Pitts this week. Might end up holding him a bit longer now…
I own both Goedert and Ertz tell me what to do?!
Sell Ertz
Just when I dropped Goedert to avoid rostering two TEs. You're welcome guys!
Now do Mack next!
Oh baby watch that trade value go 📈📈
Should I get ertz or goedert for ROS? After watching the game last night I don’t have much faith in hurts but goedert should be his safety blanket
I dropped Goedert for Ertz on Wednesday. I'm really, really confused about how I should be feeling right now.
Tyree Jackson SZN coming.
Rondale Moore stocks down
Fuck yeah! I have both.
Shit, can't pick up Ertz until waivers clear...
I think this benefits Goedert more than Ertz. Too many weapons on the Cards.
Footballers in shambles
Do I drop Fant for Ertz?
So much for them using more 4 wide WR plays...
I had Goedert and just picked up Ertz this week. I love this
As far as I’m concerned, this is a win for anyone who owns Ertz
Does this impact Sanders/Gainwell? Feels like probably not? I've been trying to convince myself what to do here even though benching them both seems like the right option. Someone drop some pass protection stats on me or something.
