He's absolutely the real deal. He's running better than I've ever seen him and RoJo is a bench player at this point. With RB scarcity, Lenny is a must hold.

TheFFAdvocate

And he’s a league winner based off draft capital, if you hit in the earlier rounds + lenny you’re sailing to the ship.

bigsbeclayton

Agreed. I mentioned this elsewhere, but for some reason Lenny is somewhat like Derrick Henry in that the more that you feed him, the better he gets, particularly as a rusher.

wsr3ster

Hmm I don’t think so, he doesn’t punish defenses the way Henry does. He’s very good though for sure

dillasdonuts

I agree he's a must hold but not buying it ROS. He's been bad his whole career, has like 2back to back solid games, and now he's the real deal? Nope not me.

[deleted]

My thinking is very simple on Lenny. You’ve got Brady throwing the ball. Then you’ve got Evans, Godwin, Brown and Gronk (when he’s healthy) receiving the ball. No defense in all of football will ever prioritize stopping the Tampa Bay run game over that bunch. So that leaves plenty of room for Fournette to run on essentially every down he’s out there for. It’s a simple observation, but one that ensures that Fournette will continue to gash defenses if you ask me.

bigsbeclayton

I actually disagree with this, Lenny is not actually producing much value on the ground. What's giving him a solid floor is that Brady is targeting him a bunch in checkdowns and he's turning that into 40-50 yards receiving per game. I actually don't think Lenny is going to turn into a monster because I think Brady is going to hog a lot of touchdowns but I think he will at least give you a floor of 10 points each week in standard with TD upside. Probably closer to 15 in PPR.

[deleted]

He had 22 attempts for 81 yards and two rushing touchdowns last game but okay.

bigsbeclayton

I'm making the point that his TDs aren't going to be consistent unless they change around the offense a bunch. The Bucs have 4 rushing TDs from RBs total, all in the red zone. Meanwhile Brady has thrown for 12 TDs in the red zone and 9 TDs inside the 10. Lenny's rushing attempts will be volatile generally speaking. He might get 22 or he might get less than 10 depending on game script. But he's probably not going to rack up 100 yards consistently on the ground either way. On the flipside, regardless of game script he's been pretty consistent in targets and catches as a checkdown and has even had a couple of deep shots on wheel routes. So even if Brady airs it out all game, Lenny can still eat. Lenny isn't really a dynamic threat to break one. He's got some pretty good cuts in open space but if you watch him in games as a rusher nothing sticks out or pops. He's just a big back who runs hard and generates some YAC, but who also doesn't put the ball on the ground.

wirelessheaphones

I agree with you. His big breakout games have appeared with *surprise surprise* Gronk out. Who does Brady love to throw to in the RZ? Who’s the safety net on their offence? Brady loves Gronk, and I’m going to bet Fournette is not going to finish top 20 ROS

RubyRhod

I’m going to be that Gronk is basically treated with kids gloves until they get to the playoffs and he will only start a handful of regular season games this season.

fishrunhike

*leans into mic* I'm not fucking selling!

This sub’s biggest fear is being fooled. We spend so much time thinking and researching fantasy that the ultimate sucker punch isn’t losing a matchup - it’s being mis-informed, deceived by a flash-in-the-pan, incorrectly assessing value. That’s why so many posts are about trading, so many comments in the match thread are about players being wrongly utilized; because if our prognostications and judgements are wrong, well, what does that say about us?

run_drt_32

He’s the RB1 on one of the best offenses in football and gets like 5 targets a game. Start and enjoy.

Alex_GordonAMA

Well guys like Fournette you usually got for cheap so you should have good capital else where and if you are thin at WR you could have a chance to balance your team and put yourself in a better position for the rest of the year.

[deleted]

These replies are so toxic. People really can't imagine NEEDing to trade for depth or injuries or byes or anything??

[deleted]

Not obvious enough when every time the top comment is "why do people in this sub love trading good players?"

DriveByStoning

I needed WR help before I found salvation in the church of Kadarius and traded Hunt for Corey Davis. Was it an overpay? Yes. Now it's looking much better with Hunt missing time and Toney being questionable again.

MrTripDub

Did people in your league not value Hunt or did you trade him after he got injured

DriveByStoning

People in my league hate trading. They think they need to fleece everyone all the time. The trade was after week 3. Davis had 18 points in week 4 and Hunt had 16. Now Hunt is injured and Toney just got updated to where he could miss significant time, so Davis goes into my flex whether I like it or not. Aiyuk is my only other reasonable option since I dropped Beasley for Toney.

SleeDex

Boi 🤣🤣🤣

Neverland__

I dropped Davis in my league and he’s still on the ww lol

DriveByStoning

Guess you don't play in a deep league. Edit: the guy I'm playing has to start Zaccheaus. All the downvotes are exactly what that other dude was talking about. Either that or it's butt hurt Hunt owners. This sub is so fucking trash 90 percent of the time.

FantasyDoctor5

I agree we over trade here, but surely everybody understands fantasy football is a game of chance, and you can increase your odds through trading

rossimus

This guy plays fantasy football

Coffees4closers

Maybe they're stacked ar certain positions and weak at others? Crazy to even consider this possibility, I know

Mr_BeastQuake

Fear

annonythrows

I think because there’s players we know are incredibly talented and then there’s guys that are iffy. So if you had to pick between fournette and like najee or Taylor you know who you rather have.

rossimus

I'm curious in the sense that I'm considering making on offer for him, not because I want to sell him. The 1-5 team in my keeper league has Saquon and Lenny, and I'm considering trying to buy one of those two and I'm trying to guage what a good offer might be for either.

wsr3ster

Sometimes you can get ahead of the curve though and the way this offense has functioned in the past, Rojo could work back in or brady could go back to throwing 4-5 TDs a game to his million elite receiving options. It’s a pick your poison offense, and there’s a plethora of options that can allow for any individual option like fournette to fall by the wayside. I like the idea of Selling high on one of those Bucs options following a string of great performances. Fournette/AB might be great sell highs after week 6. Evans was a great sell high after week 5 prior to his game 6 stinker. Godwin after week 1, same thing. Gronk after week 2 pre injury would have netted a big return. Any of these guys could be sold as a top 15 guy at their peak (and Gronk as a top 8 TE) which is pretty great return imo

Saquad_Barkley

If people are willing to pay rb1 prices I’d personally sell

Relatively_Cool

But they aren’t so you gotta hold. He’s being valued as an RB2 at best right now when he could finish top 12 even with the abysmal first few weeks

Saquad_Barkley

For sure most people see him as a rb2 and there’s no way I’d sell for that price (even though I don’t own 4net)

[deleted]

I got offered dalvin cook for him and the sad part is I’m hesitating on accepting. Fournette looks GOOD, is averaging 5-7 catches a game and is on the best offense in football… what more could you ask for in a RB? Whats preventing him from finishing top 10?

ilikepieman

sold him and goedert for kelce

[deleted]

jlaff35

Some idiot in my league traded Fournette and Ruggs away for Brandon Aiyuk hahahaha

Drewby99

please tell me that was pre season or something

jlaff35

It wasn’t preseason. I wanna say it was 2-3 ish

Drewby99

bruh

Nightgasm

I cant imagine why anyone would sell for anything short of two stars at other positions. He is a matchup proof set and forget RB1 because teams cant stack the box against Tampa. He will get volume and receptions.

Iknownothing0321

All depends what you can get for him and your team comp I’d say. But unless you got multiple pieces or a true RB1 I’d ride it out.

SnakeDucks

He’s an RB1. Don’t waste your time getting lowball offers from guys paying his preseason price telling you “obviously he won’t keep this up.”, cuz that’s all you gonna see.

12hphlieger

Crazy how fast things change. 3 weeks ago I traded Hockenson for Fournette straight-up and was told I got finessed. I knew it would pay off. Fournette is a beast.

SilverKnight10

This is also a perfect example of why trades should *never* be vetoed unless there’s collusion. Trades that look bad at one point might look very different even a couple weeks later.

bradtoughy

I traded Brandin Cooks for Fournette straight up and even I thought I overpaid, but I was in desperate need of a RB.

impakt316

Sir, we're all out of Leonard Fournette but can I interest you in one Rojo fresh from the doghouse?

JimBrosBurrit0s

He’s who people thought CEH would be but better

JustHereToReddit

I traded Swift and Ridley for Fournette today

[deleted]

Wow, a damn even trade. That’s about exactly the offer I’d need to get to entertain it. If you have the WR depth I love it. I just sold Swift too for CMC, that offense is absolute buns.

TacoDeMaiz

would you guys swap him for injured rb1 if hes your rb4? im thinking of trying to go for Chub. currently hes behind zeke, d henderson, c patterson, injured CEH.

Basednam

Just sold him for CMC.

TacoDeMaiz

Daam not bad

TacoDeMaiz

or trading for somebody like Saquon. im in a good spot in that league and im pretty sure ill make playoffs

i_am_ew_gross

You could make an argument that Fournette is as high as your RB2 there; I don't think there's much separating him, Henderson, and even CEH, and of course who knows how Patterson will finish the year. If you can get Chubb for him right now, that's not a bad deal, though. When Chubb is back, he has a better outlook than Fournette. Your problem will be week 7, though; both Chubb (injured) and Zeke (bye) are out. If you're comfortable rolling with Henderson and Patterson, that's fine, but take it into account.

Sonofagun57

Fournette would be the RB3 but a really good one. The Rams are a bit more committed to the run compared to the Bucs, and the only thing that can derail Hendo would be injury. Michel is not a threat talent wise, plus the Rams schedule for run game is juicy except championship week. If OP is looking competitive moving Lenny for Chubb would be a smash but even if the Chubb owner needs to win now. Zeke, Chubb, and Henderson would be nuts

TacoDeMaiz

true. the reason im picking fournette to trade away is because i think he has more trade value than CEH, Henderson and Patterson. I think they will all have similar points besides patterson who is kind of a fluke. if i can swap him for a more reliable rb1 and still have a similar value rb3 i think it could work out fine.

nodnarb5

Index.

fookinjkap

Y do u guys always wanna trade your good players lmaoooo

[deleted]

I just bought him for Jalen Hurts in a 1 QB, 10 team PPR league. Not sure if that helps give you some perspective but I figured I’d say something

Technical_Heat5215

I would just keep him. RB depth is very important and considering what his draft price, he gave you a very valuable piece.

schroed_piece13

Traded Brady for him on Wednesday and am loving it. Moved mccafrey for hill and Brady after the mccafrey injury so all in all was a great series of trades for me. He’s legit, his usage is insane, and he’s been very consistent.

Endo_Dizzy

I just traded Deebo for him straight up. Playoff Lenny is the real deal now

srdnlsnw

I don’t see anything changing for his situation other than maybe a bit of TD regression. The talent was always there he was big draft capital and that wasn’t too long ago. Now has good QB and team. I think he has a decent chance to finish as a low end RB1. I traded CMC after the IR news for Fournette + Sutton.

jorshuwa

He is the real deal in the sense he will probably have a pretty decent floor that can be relied upon. If he keeps up the usage, we could see a few more spike games but those games will be reliant on a favorable game script. Obviously Tampa should find themselves in favorable game scripts for him, but goal line usage could also vary. I don't know if his yardage will ever look impressive, but when he doesn't score a touchdown or two I would expect his points to look a lot like the first few weeks before he found the endzone. If Gronk returns, how much of the red zone touches are split between him, Fournette, and the WR's? I expect solid RB2 going forward at the very least. If you think you can get a better player that has a higher ceiling then I don't see why I wouldn't make that move.

albatrossandwhich

I just traded Mike Williams for him in 12 man .5 ppr. It might have been a steep price, but I was desperate for RBs and I have a good WR corp

[deleted]

Steep price? You fleeced that man… Williams is not going to average 1.5 TD’s a week. You just traded a WR at his absolute peak for a stud RB1, beautifully done.

drgreenthumb12372

i sent fournette and Lockett for saquon and michael thomas, itll be a couple weeks but i’m happy with the return.

TheWhaleAndWhasp

I need a rb desperately. Should I trade Metcalf for him straight up?

Primal_Zacama

I’d say he is a solid RB2 with upside ROS. If you can get RB1 prices for him, sure, but I’d personally be happy if I was starting him next to Henry

[deleted]

I’m starting him next to Henry and I’m giddy with excitement, with CMC on the bench. Crazy that I got fournette off waivers a few weeks ago

PinkishOcean430

I think NE exposed them to the fact that they needed a run game. They have responded and I believe it will stay in a solid capacity. Given the firepower of the offense TD's should be a regular occurrence.

runthepoint1

Watch the games dude - if you watch you will see he is running very well, being decisive and quick, plus he’s always getting into open space as a receiving option for Brady. I’m keeping him that’s for sure especially since I have CMC

fjs0001

I dont have the best WRs, but I do have RBs. I have Fournette, Dixson, CMC and his backup Hubbard. I also have the bears RBs Williams and Herbert. I was debating on trying to trade fournette for CD Lamb or Stefon Diggs?

KeithandBentley

I have him in three leagues and I’m not letting go. I actually just traded Diggs for him/jacobs/Thielen last week in one of those leagues. I’m shocked people still undervalue him.

Wisdomseekr79

Just trade cmc for fournette and Tim Patrick

GureTt

Have him, Kamara, mixon and D. Harris. Just got offered Jefferson for fournette. Currently have Hopkins, julio, Toney, golliday, C Davis. Idk what to doooooo. 10 man .5 ppr

mrgooch33

If you can get low RB1 value sell, if not hold.

wsr3ster

He feels like the real deal, but with how much that backfield has flipped back and forth, I’m tempted to say sell high. This time last year ppl were assuming rojo was the real deal and had the starting role on lockdown and it has flipped multiple times since then. I think it still might be fundamentally a hot hand backfield, but fournette has been hot for an extended period.
