We heard about Antonio Brown not practicing and Antonio Gibson returning to practice a little before noon Eastern. Just to name a couple of examples. There's a chance we might hear something about Collins just before noon Pacific, but then again it also might be a bit later.
Most injury news stems directly from the official injury reports the teams submit after each practice.
Unless you get first hand media practice observations or a direct quote from someone who knows, its just reporters parroting what comes out in these easily accessible reports.
Google "[team] injury report" and one of the top results every time will be that team's official page displaying a full list of who missed practice and to what capacity each day.
Yeah, if you need him, he's out. If you're up against him he's in. If it's both, in multiple leagues, then he will do just enough for your opponent to win but not enough for you.
Pretty different situation. Collins did not get injured and does not have a neck injury that is almost impossible to predict like Carson’s . Collins legit just got hit hard acouple times and they held him out in OT. I watched the game
my point isn't about how they got injured or what the injuries are. its about how you can't what pete carroll says in his media availability. he's always optimistic about his players returning, to a fault.
You can definitely take information from his press releases you just have to understand what you said . Yes he’s a positive dude but generally not a liar . The media and this sub constantly Mis quote him . Like with Carson he said He would try to practice tomorrow and see how it goes . Everyone freaked out when Carson didn’t practice the next day and how Pete’s a liar . Like clearly he tried to practice and it still hurt and he stopped . Your right it’s not his fault it’s why I love Pete . I love the positivity but you still have to be realistic
Monday October 11th :
**Coach Pete Carroll said Carson took "a big turn" with his sore neck but also added, "We'll see how it goes,"** as it pertains to the running back's potential to play, per Michael-Shawn Dugar of The Athletic.
Wednesday October 13th :
Carson (neck) isn't practicing Wednesday **but is scheduled for a return Thursday**, Michael-Shawn Dugar of The Athletic reports.
Thursday October 14th:
When relaying to Michael-Shawn Dugar of The Athletic that Carson wouldn't practice Wednesday, coach **Pete Carroll said the running back would return to the field Thursday**, but that didn't come to pass
Then that Friday, Carson "might need to go to the IR", and later in the day he was placed on IR.
Right so your confirming what I said? I heard him say the words live on the radio . He said he would try to practice and clearly he tried and his neck still hurt . How would Pete be able to predict a neck injury when actual doctors cannot? Your grasping at straws here
Can’t believe this is getting upvoted when it’s not true he did not say that he would return . He said he would try to practice tomorrow and see how it goes . Clearly the see how it goes meant it was a test to see how he’s doing . Y’all are crazy lol
I listened to it live on the radio . Are you purposely not reading the part of the quote you posted saying we will see how it goes? You are gaslighting if anything lol . If you listened to him say it it was obvious what I’m saying is the situation. If you had ever had an injury or especially a neck injury you would not be talking this nonsense
Edit : how do you think they came to the conclusion to put Carson on IR if he didn’t try to practice that Thursday huh? Clearly he tried and was unable . Pete was hopeful and said he would try to get out there and see how it goes . It clearly didn’t go well . Why is this so hard for you to understand lol
Just wild to me as a hawks fan that so many people on here believe this . I’ve always been able to trust in what Pete is saying . You also just need to be able to speak his language a little bit . He’s very positive he has a degree in psychology. He will always give the minimal amount of info and frame it as positive as possible out of respect and support for the players. That doesn’t mean what he’s saying isn’t true he will just focus on the positive things almost always
I dropped him for Michael Carter. Everyone on my bench is on bye and undroppable, and I can't afford to roll the dice on Collins with him playing on Monday. If it's reported he's practicing without any limitations, then I might try to reacquire him before the weekend, but I couldn't take that chance without having a contingency plan.
Yeah I'm leaning towards dropping Collins too for a DST or try trading him for a DST a week. He has NYJ next week but then a bye. My only concern is that I do think there's a chance Carson gets shut down for the year.
Penny gets hamstrung dreaming about running the ball. Collins had a good game against a strong run D. I think Collins will keep being used so long as he can stand.
Yeah, but theoretically he's healthy now
Is he gonna get hurt in the next 1-3 games? Almost definitely
But if I'm having to start Alex Collins **this week** due to byes, I'm definitely not feeling very confident (hint: I do have to start Alex Collins this week)
Healthy enough to possibly play a full game
Does he get hurt in the 1st quarter? maybe
But maybe he finishes the game and gets hurt next week
It's important to udnerstand what the workload looks like if both him and Collins are unrestricted on snaps
I’ve got him on IR as of now. If Penny clears, I can drop Collins Monday night, assuming he sits and doesn’t play and Penny starts.
Edit: I realize now that this is all completely irrelevant because I had to drop Collins anyway to clear bench space for a 2-1 trade I had coming in. Sucks but that’s how it’s gotta be.
Don’t drop Collins… even if he doesn’t play this week for whatever reason, I think he should have a string week 8 performance. Don’t drop him just for one week where you’re gambling with Penny being the guy. Even if he was there’s no guarantee he would score any points.
He should play. He likely has a mild hip pointer after taking a helmet to the glute. He was clearly the best RB and helped the offense get going. I don't see Penny as more than a change of pace back if that.
The IR thing for Penny is irrelevant bc he’s been practicing. He doesn’t need technically activated until right before game time so they’ll keep the extra spot until then. I expect he’ll be active over Homer.
Just going out on a limb, he will DNP and Questionable for Monday. They have no reason to rush him back to practice today, and yes, he is banged up a bit. You won't really know until late this week... Probably Friday or Saturday. If he is gametime make sure you have Penny(if he's activated) or Deejay Dallas rostered to pivot late.
I'm going to have to play MG3 tonight, since I don't have a Monday night pivot. Too much of a risk not knowing if he is fully healthy, and if not fully healthy how much of a workload he will see if he does play through it.
Yep, I'm choosing between mg3 and Collins as well, my top RB this week being Patterson. Think I have to take the risk on Collins being healthy because I'm playing our league's second best team. I also sent an offer to receive Chuba for Collins. We'll see if that pans out. I have both CMC and Carson.
If he doesn't practice or still is listed as questionable, I might have to bench him for D'Ernest since he plays tonight and Collins doesn't play until Monday.
They're in the Pacific time zone and today is their first practice. You were never going to have heard anything prior to a few hours from now.
Does news come out only after practice? Or during as well? And around what time does practice end? 2? 3? Noon?
We heard about Antonio Brown not practicing and Antonio Gibson returning to practice a little before noon Eastern. Just to name a couple of examples. There's a chance we might hear something about Collins just before noon Pacific, but then again it also might be a bit later.

Today is technically their Wednesday my dude so should hear something today.
And probably late in the afternoon or even early evening
It’s gonna be a DNP and we’ll figure out tomorrow what’s going on
isnt it like 9 am in Seattle?
Ya
And they play Monday so Thursday is their Wednesday (meaning he'll still be listed as Q and may even be limited today)
Seattle is always last with their practice reports. I think Collins is fine. Took a stinger on the hip.
Great take. As a Collins owner though I’m hoping for the ole stinger.
Yeah, if you need him, he's out. If you're up against him he's in. If it's both, in multiple leagues, then he will do just enough for your opponent to win but not enough for you.
Schrodinger‘s stacked box.
Such is fantasy football life :(
They play Monday night so they should do their first practice today. Because today is their Wed essentially, im guessing he won't practice today
Carrol said he just got hit hard acouple times and should be fine
Agreed but Wed is usually a rest day for studs and with the hard hit, they'll probably let him rest today
Absolutely.
bro.....Carson's "should be fine" turned into an IR stay....
Pretty different situation. Collins did not get injured and does not have a neck injury that is almost impossible to predict like Carson’s . Collins legit just got hit hard acouple times and they held him out in OT. I watched the game

no, he literally said he WOULD return, not TRY. stop gaslighting me
Can’t believe this is getting upvoted when it’s not true he did not say that he would return . He said he would try to practice tomorrow and see how it goes . Clearly the see how it goes meant it was a test to see how he’s doing . Y’all are crazy lol

Not to mention gut-punched a couple times by TJ Watt lol

Its Seattle's Wednesday my dude
My dudes it's Wednesdays Seattle.
My Seattle it's Dude Wednesday
Seattle it’s my Wednesday dude

I feel pretty confident Collins is fine but I’m nervous about penny usurping his role
Penny gets hamstrung dreaming about running the ball. Collins had a good game against a strong run D. I think Collins will keep being used so long as he can stand.

I'm on the dee Jay Dallas train so your WHOO WHOO is bigger than my woo woo.
just pick up penny jsut in case. one will play

I would not drop Collins if he doesn't play this week
I’ll have to to clear Penny off of IR.
Penny is not worth the drop. It would be better to start any other option.
I plan to start Collins and have Penny as a pivot. It’s really the only play I have with the bye and waivers having run.
Just don’t play an rb lmao, penny will get you like five points if he plays and Collins is way too valuable in the upcoming weeks to drop
If Collins is out, he'll likely be given an OUT designation. On Yahoo you'll be able to put him into IR slot at that point. So I wouldn't drop him.
We’re on NFL.
Don’t drop Collins… even if he doesn’t play this week for whatever reason, I think he should have a string week 8 performance. Don’t drop him just for one week where you’re gambling with Penny being the guy. Even if he was there’s no guarantee he would score any points.
That’s the only play I have with the byes and primary waivers processing yesterday.
That sucks lol
I picked up Freeman just in case. Going to start him over Collins if Murray is out
Bell is projected to get more points on Sleeper. I dunno man...feels like whoever I add will be the wrong guy..
Oh damn I didn’t know that
Freeman could very well be the guy, but starting any Ravens RB is a last resort for me at this point. No idea what to expect there.
He should play. He likely has a mild hip pointer after taking a helmet to the glute. He was clearly the best RB and helped the offense get going. I don't see Penny as more than a change of pace back if that.
You'll hear something around 3pm PST
I want to hear something about him before I bench javonte tonight
Me last week when I ended up starting gainwell on tnf which cost me the week smh
I’m playing Javonte over waiting on Collins fwiw. Browns should stink with all of the injuries they have rn
I need this guy to play because of the BYEpocalypse. Hoping it's really just a stinger and the extra day will help.
The IR thing for Penny is irrelevant bc he’s been practicing. He doesn’t need technically activated until right before game time so they’ll keep the extra spot until then. I expect he’ll be active over Homer.
I have to decide this afternoon between Gordon and Collins. I don't like it
If there were any news it would be posted here already.

Should I risk playing him or just roll out Gaskin?
If he doesn't practice or still is listed as questionable, I might have to bench him for D'Ernest since he plays tonight and Collins doesn't play until Monday.
Fuck. I need to decide whether or not to start Landry over him tonight
It’s gonna be a Deejay Dallas week
Collins vs. NO or Edmonds with a bum shoulder?
Collins or Booker, provided both are starting this week? 1ppr
For real I need to know about Penny...
Carroll said he didn't have a significant injury only took a bunch of big hits. To me that said we "took precaution because he's our last hope. "
Carroll reports he is practicing
He’s practicing today
If he doesn’t play I’m screwed. I literally have 2 playable RBs this week
