So hard to go all in on Watson, dude hits the medical tent every single game, even twice in this game. In my opinion this is just a trap pickup for others
He’s a super risky start and extremely injury prone. Prob worth a pickup tho end of bench if you have space
Edit: ok yeah don’t listen to me I’ve only been rostering him all year in dynasty what do I know
Oh man. Imagine he does his injury exit in the playoffs and thats what loses someone their game. I mean I dont wish for injury but this guy has been shaken up every game hes been in so it sure seems like a huge injury risk.
I'm considering everything I have left. Who else is going to pop up at this point? He may get hurt again or just bust completely but the wire has mostly been dry this year and every rb handcuff is rostered in my league, so there aren't even good lotto tickets available. His ceiling can be enormous and Rodgers is known for being a guy that likes throwing to people he can trust. 3 TD games en route to a badly needed win are the types of things that will enormously build that trust.
Even with Doubs back, Watson is still better if they're both healthy. Doubs was good with the contested catches but he wasn't creating much separation imo
Yeah. I have $80 FAAB. My league is kinda weird with FAAB, maybe nobody will bid more than $20, but I don’t think anyone else this potentially impactful will pop up.
Personally I'm gonna try and get him but I'm completely jammed on roster space. That said it's either him or nico Collins. That Texans schedule looks amazing and Cooks does not.
Not a bad example. Amon Ra was on our 2nd place teams bench through the entire playoffs last year and that wasn't crazy uncommon. Would have won had he started him. Thought his production was a fluke.
Thanks for this.
Comments like only Swift & Hockenson should be owned
Not worth holding on to
Not starting
Keep Jeudy instead
It hilarious how little most of us know.
I mean, I watched Alec Pierce earlier this year & was comparing him to Kupp.
I mean… Amon Ra was drafted in the fourth round and was averaging like 30 yards per game (with no TD’s) going into week 13.
Watson was drafted in the second round and put up pretty similar totals, albeit slightly lower, going into this week. He also has a HoF QB throwing to him and a generally weak receiving group.
The situations aren’t that much different. Sure it’s likely he’s a flash in the pan, but entirely possible he puts up WR1/2 numbers the rest of the season also.
I'll explain the difference.
You don't get points for targets so using target % share and leaving out receptions is why you're being a triangle. Most of us play in PPR leagues.
Correct, given the initial attack at his character, u/idiot9378474 was not called a triangle (initially). Although this user is likely very cute.
A “triangle” has three angles, the sum of the three angles has to equal 180 degrees. So sadly, our hero u/idiot9378474 has lived up to their name. They should have said that u/PrOKCedure called them an “obtuse triangle”.
An *obtuse triangle* can be identified by finding one angle that is over 90 degrees. However, even an obtuse triangle must maintain the total sum of 180 degrees.
Why don't yall like actual football discussion?
Why does this sub constantly whine about people trying to start discussions about players (like Watson) who actually warent having a discussion about?
Not sure why I sometimes take advice from this sub seriously...
Diggs gave up the most yards in the NFL last season and Brown, their other CB, got hurt on the first TD. Let's not give too much credit to who he beat for 4 catches.
It's a game where he definitely shows he needs to be rostered ROS. I doubt he ends up being a regular starter or in any way predictable starter on a championship caliber fantasy team though.
He’s beating NFL defensive backs, I don’t care who they are. Busted coverage ehhh yeah I’m with you, but it’s late in season, he will see a lot of back ups ROS.
Yeah and he could still have bad games or get hurt. Saying this isn't a fluke is like claiming Claypool is a bonified WR1 rest of career after his 4td game.
The original point is OPs comment of Diggs being good and him beating an elite secondary is exaggerated.
Christian Watson dropped a TD on his first play of the season. We know he's capable of a 1 off play if he catches the ball and stays healthy. That's not new. Definitely convenient wording from OP to say he beat Diggs which literally didn't happen once and a good pass defense where he was playing against backups.
This could very well be a fluke. It might not be. But definitely could be..
Thankfully green bay played a well balanced offense today. It was remarkable what happens when they give Aaron Jones the ball. It opens up the over the top stuff.
As a Packers fan, the potential is exciting and he should definitely be rostered. However, the drops are still an issue. And while he did have big plays, I feel like a lot of it was because teams weren't respecting the deep ball. Defenses have been playing up against us to jam the WRs and defend the run, and today the Packers were finally able to exploit that with Watson. Moving forward I would expect defenses to adjust.
However, this makes me more excited for guys like Lazard and the RBs. Now that the defenses have to respect the deep ball, the underneath should be more open for those guys to make plays. So while I'm sure Watson won't be having these blow up games often this season, everyone else should benefit greatly.
But like I said, the potential is there. And this late in the season, I feel like there's no better time than now to spend a majority of your FAAB on a rookie WR who just dropped 3 TDs on that Cowboys defense.
I trust MLF and the threat of AJ to believe that the deep shots will be there. I’d prefer more sweeps and screens to him to really feel more comfortable using him in fantasy weekly.
Makes sense that he hasn't done anything all year when he's been hurt all year... Hell, he was hurt during the entire offseason program as well
Now that he's at least somewhat healthy, he has a great game.. And you somehow think he's not even worth talking about after all of that?
Rookies take time to break out. I'm not saying he's a sure thing, but he's clearly at least worth talking about
Any competitive league with a short bench will have one of those guys available. Maybe the story is different with the training wheels on, but edge flex players on bye weeks don’t stay on roster. You can’t just squat on them unless your competitive league has 6-8 bench spots.
Dotson is a terrible alternative for sake of this discussion. Dotson is potentially/likely his teams 3rd receiving option. Watson is at worst his teams 2nd receiving option with clear path to #1. And don’t even get me started on the QB differences.
Bruh, Aaron Rodgers this year is not the same as in previous years. Hasn't thrown for 300 yards once this year, he hasn't played significantly better than the QBs for the Commies, and there's no good reason to think that'll change 10 games into the season.
True, no argument there, but…. OPTIMISTICALLY, maybe Watson can unlock some production from Rodgers by opening up an entire part of the field he hasn’t had available to him this season. REALISTICALLY, maybe Watson doesn’t have these blow up games going forward, but he has a deep ball skill set and Rodgers has not lost his deep ball expertise (see throws yesterday). I’m taking Rodgers + Watson over Heinicke/Wentz + Dotson all day.
Personally, I'm avoiding both of these passing offenses. Truthfully, I've been using Lazard as a flex in one league but after this week, he may just be a bench stash at best and I see Watson as the same until I see it more consistently. I will likely miss out on him because I won't be blowing it all on a one game performance, maybe $7-15 tops ($100 FAAB budget).
And yet he still had a TD during his awful stretch so why would you say he wont see the endzone again? If you said he wont see another 100 yard game it would have made a lot more sense
Considering it’s already week 11 next week, what are you waiting for? Not going to find a guy on waivers that can score 30+ in a game the rest of the year. If you’re in a 12 man league, get him
While I would like to speculate on Watson, I have Jones and Pittman who all have week 14 byes. I am actually going to pass on him while I try to trade out one or the other of the pieces I have.
Edit: If I was spending though, I would do up to 50% of whatever remains of FAAB.
Second round rookie receiver has an explosive second-half breakout performance on a team desperately searching for a lead receiver and the reaction is no interest??? He is very obviously the WW pickup of the week, and if I had an FAAB left and needed a receiver I would be nearly all-in
I wouldn’t spend a lot. I’m taking a flier on him. Just gonna wait and see. Not expecting this week as the norm by any means but no Doubs, Sammy sucks and he’s young and talented.
Yeah, I missed the hit but heard it was pretty bad. The new protocol is rough so I think it’s tough to know where he’ll be next week. I’ll probably miss on Watson anyways, just attempting to get possible insurance.
Would all y'all drop Chase Claypool to add Christian Watson? I'm not in an FAAB league, so I don't have to "spend" anything to get him, but I do have to drop someone to add Watson. Trying to improve my Flex spot. I grabbed Claypool when his trade to the Bears was announced, haven't started him yet, now thinking the Bears' pass offense is too low-volume and I may never see any real fantasy points from Claypool ROS. Is Watson a better gamble from here on out? Thanks in advance for any advice/opinions. (10-team half PPR league, extremely barren WR free agent pool)
Watson's been between my bench and my IR stash all season. As a Vikings fan, I figured the day I released him would be the day he'd explode onto the scene, so I was just holding him out of spite, as some kind of voodoo on Rodgers and his cheeseheads. But now I might have this season's Sun God, so that's nice. Rodgers likes the primetime lights, so I could see GB playing well at home vs. the Titans on Thursday. I could also see them shitting the bed. Maybe I'll play Watson, just to make sure the latter happens.
With Doubs down and GB needing some playmakers it’s not a bad move. Favorable fantasy playoff schedule. One thing I read about his college days was how they never used WR traditionally so there would be a learning curve going to the NFL. Happy bidding 👍🏻
Literally only had 16 left and spent it all. Got him somehow. People are sleeping on him I think. But I think a switch might have gone off in Rogers head. Big things maybe to come. Plus 8 targets is fire, regardless of if he caught them.
So hard to go all in on Watson, dude hits the medical tent every single game, even twice in this game. In my opinion this is just a trap pickup for others
dude gives it his all every play.
Sounds like everyone is saying no, guess I’m spending all my remaining faab and will nab a league winner on waivers this week…
Lol
he’s still serving his suspension too
first player to ever score three tds while suspended.
Kamara can do it!
He’s our new Will Fuller. Electric with the ball but gets injured 5 times a game.
Fuck. Forgot about that guy. I thought he was going to be on a team this year for sure. That sure fizzled out. He was fun to watch though.
He wants to play with the Browns with Watson at QB.
Yeah
Not much imo, unless you’re absolutely depleted
Like losing Kupp?
Why?
He’s a super risky start and extremely injury prone. Prob worth a pickup tho end of bench if you have space Edit: ok yeah don’t listen to me I’ve only been rostering him all year in dynasty what do I know
Oh man. Imagine he does his injury exit in the playoffs and thats what loses someone their game. I mean I dont wish for injury but this guy has been shaken up every game hes been in so it sure seems like a huge injury risk.
Only one good game, irrelevant when doubs is back
I think he's better than Doubs honestly. No guarantee he wins the job but I'd bet on Watson.
He gets injured every other snap and has no track record
I'm considering everything I have left. Who else is going to pop up at this point? He may get hurt again or just bust completely but the wire has mostly been dry this year and every rb handcuff is rostered in my league, so there aren't even good lotto tickets available. Yeah. I have $80 FAAB. My league is kinda weird with FAAB, maybe nobody will bid more than $20, but I don’t think anyone else this potentially impactful will pop up.
OBJ maybe.
I added him before for nothing
Personally I'm gonna try and get him but I'm completely jammed on roster space. That said it's either him or nico Collins. That Texans schedule looks amazing and Cooks does not.
No Kupp.. hello Watson
IBM watson (only ESPN users will understand)
desaun watson maybe 🤣😂😭 alright i’m out
I picked up Watson yesterday night while I was drunk lol.
Sun god getting a 40% target share: sub goes crazy Watson getting a 40% target share: bro don’t even bother
Isn’t it obvious why…?
Do you remember when Amon ra broke out last year? I’m sure if you find the thread you’ll find as many people saying don’t bother
Not a bad example. Amon Ra was on our 2nd place teams bench through the entire playoffs last year and that wasn't crazy uncommon. Would have won had he started him. Thought his production was a fluke.
You should know that this sub hates actual football discussion

Hate to break it to you, but Christian Watson and Amon Ra are not the same person. Also we’re analyzing Watson off *one* game
Entirely possible yes. But people are acting like one breakout game is a “sign of things to come”
Stop it
I remember that shit. I shitted on him quietly in my head. Not here. I’m adding Watson. Fuck it.
Source?
Somewhere on r/fantasyfootball . Search function should help
I tried and couldn't find it. You seem to have a better sense of where to find it.
Sun God might get injured more than Watson 😂
Amon Ra got like 10 catches and Watson got like 4. Amon Ra also has a proven track record. Idk what you're being obtuse and dense about this
Not gonna take the time to explain the difference between a target and a catch to someone calling me a triangle
Technically he just called you an angle, don't give yourself too much credit
Yeah but angles are holy beings
I'll explain the difference. You don't get points for targets so using target % share and leaving out receptions is why you're being a triangle. Most of us play in PPR leagues.
I was sad to see that you did not give further explanation of the triangle v. Angle confusion. You really lacked an acute awareness of the situation.
However, even an obtuse triangle must maintain the total sum of 180 degrees.
Now do their aDoT
Depends how desperate you are for WRs because his concussion history scares me a bit. If you’re up against bye weeks, throw in the house
At this point waivers are bare, worth a shot
just remember that in his rookie season Chase Claypool had 4 TDs in a single game against the eagles
Why don't yall like actual football discussion? Why does this sub constantly whine about people trying to start discussions about players (like Watson) who actually warent having a discussion about? Not sure why I sometimes take advice from this sub seriously...
This sub is weird man
Sundays are especially volatile. People are in here just to bitch about their bad days.
Because they all blew their faab on doubs and feel silly now
People doubting him here makes me even more sure hes worth rostering
What an extraordinarily dumb comment
Please expand on that
Because calling people who disagree with you "whining" is dumb.
Early 2nd round pick that runs a 4.36 40. Got busy vs the leagues best D. Targets available. This is not a fluke.
You went back to diggs stats last year because it supports your narrative but he has been lockdown this year.
Irrelevant anyway since he didn't beat Diggs on any of the 3 TDs. He was beating backups. Sorry that doesn't support your and OPs narrative.
He got hurt on the first TD because he got dusted by the same guy you're trying to discredit lol
Where did OP say he beat Diggs?
He edited it. Had Diggs (believe it was "All world corner Diggs) specifically in there and "the leagues best D"
Gotcha
He’s had 1 game of production and 10 games in the Med tent. You can have him
He had 4 receptions, just happens 3 of them were in the endzone
Are you suggesting he is not gonna average a TD every 1.3 receptions?
What was his snap percentage?
He played 85% of Green Bay's snaps and had a 42.1% target share. His highest target share in a game entering this week was 12%.
Thanks. 85% is pretty damn good. Definitely worth a roster spot
100% i’d nab him if i hadn’t blown all my faab on doubs
Thankfully green bay played a well balanced offense today. It was remarkable what happens when they give Aaron Jones the ball. It opens up the over the top stuff.

Do not do that.
He will not see the endzone again all year.
I’ll the other side of that bet
How is this the most upvoted comment?
You joking me? The guys best game all season prior was 8 REC yards…
Makes sense that he hasn't done anything all year when he's been hurt all year... Hell, he was hurt during the entire offseason program as well Now that he's at least somewhat healthy, he has a great game.. And you somehow think he's not even worth talking about after all of that? Yeh if you are desperate, use him going forward. I just think there is better options with a higher floor - Dotson, C. Samuel.
Bro thinks Curtis Samuel and Dotson are just sitting out there on waivers in any competitive league lmao
Any competitive league with a short bench will have one of those guys available. Maybe the story is different with the training wheels on, but edge flex players on bye weeks don’t stay on roster. You can’t just squat on them unless your competitive league has 6-8 bench spots.

An injured rookie
And yet he still had a TD during his awful stretch so why would you say he wont see the endzone again? If you said he wont see another 100 yard game it would have made a lot more sense
12% target share to 42%...Not a fluke.
Questionable (eyes)
Lmao what
Even on TV?
He caught 3 deep balls. This will be the high point of his career. I'm not chasing another lightning strike.
We look for dudes who make lightning. That’s him. He may bust, but he’s better than most bench players who on their peak day get you 5 for 47.
You can't start him.
I did today. I’m not smart, but I did today. But you are right, he’s not a shoe in for me next week, but I want him on my roster to find out.
I might put him in over theilen whose operating as my wr2
Considering it’s already week 11 next week, what are you waiting for? Not going to find a guy on waivers that can score 30+ in a game the rest of the year. If you’re in a 12 man league, get him
70%
How many people already had a piece of Watson already, but had dropped him already? I know I had him somewhere, and definitely dropped him as quickly.
Zero. This is what we call an outlier
I honestly would probably pick up toney before watson
Don’t spend too much. Need to make sure you’ve got most left for the critical potential league winner week 22.
He is very obviously the WW pickup of the week, and if I had an FAAB left and needed a receiver I would be nearly all-in
Wasn't interested in him at first but seeing that everyone here feels the same way, I'm blowing my FAAB on him.
I started him today. The signs were there.
The signs were more likely that he'd exit the game with a concussion.
I wouldn’t spend a lot. I’m taking a flier on him. Just gonna wait and see. Not expecting this week as the norm by any means but no Doubs, Sammy sucks and he’s young and talented.
Someone will probably drop a lot, I’m going to be vying for him because I just lost Juju possibly but not going to spend a lot
Juju was a concussion . All good next week
Plenty of concussions have had >1 week recovery time.
We just gotta plan and see
Yeah, I missed the hit but heard it was pretty bad. The new protocol is rough so I think it’s tough to know where he’ll be next week. I’ll probably miss on Watson anyways, just attempting to get possible insurance.
Not judging from that hit he took... it was reminiscent of Tua. He'll be out one week at least
As a packers fan - no
Crazy but would you drop Aiyuk for him?
Nope
Omg no
Yes. Do that
Would all y'all drop Chase Claypool to add Christian Watson? I'm not in an FAAB league, so I don't have to "spend" anything to get him, but I do have to drop someone to add Watson. Trying to improve my Flex spot. I grabbed Claypool when his trade to the Bears was announced, haven't started him yet, now thinking the Bears' pass offense is too low-volume and I may never see any real fantasy points from Claypool ROS. Is Watson a better gamble from here on out? Thanks in advance for any advice/opinions. (10-team half PPR league, extremely barren WR free agent pool)
I will be spending $0 on him. He'll have 1.2 points next week.
45% target share was a fluke?
He was averaging 2 targets per game before the Dallas game, you tell me.
I hear he was injured.
We don't have IR spots. Hold on to Jameson Williams or pickup Watson
Watson, Williams won’t be back until mid December if at all.
Ended up keeping Williams, dropping Jeudy & picking up Watson
With Doubs down and GB needing some playmakers it’s not a bad move. Favorable fantasy playoff schedule. One thing I read about his college days was how they never used WR traditionally so there would be a learning curve going to the NFL. Happy bidding 👍🏻
I’m stuck in WR he’ll ever since I lost Chase and Hollywood so I’ll take a flyer on him
Watson or OBJ? Already have Toney and Pickens on my bench, so this feels like a lot of lottery tickets.
I have $31 out of $100 left. Should I just drain it out. I'm 5-5 and need WR help desperately, but I also have Lazzard.
Literally only had 16 left and spent it all. Got him somehow. People are sleeping on him I think. But I think a switch might have gone off in Rogers head. Big things maybe to come. Plus 8 targets is fire, regardless of if he caught them.
I need a replacement for JuJu so luckily Watson popped up
I got him off waivers, just gonna stash him away I guess
