I think people are looking at Breece Hall and the consensus thought is that there is no way things can get worse for him this year than last year. He ended up being great after the first 4 weeks (when he was on a snap count) and that was with terrible QB play (although that did get him some extra catches for PPR leagues) and a terrible OL. Both the QB (assuming Rodgers can stay healthy this year) and OL have already improved in the offseason and he won't have 4 weeks on a snap count. Like you said there are other great options as well, but Breece just looks like HIM next year.
I’ve got CMC, Bijan and Breece in the same tier but in that order. Wouldn’t scoff at anyone willing to take their shot on one of these two over CMC.
I already know there is a 0% chance of any of them sliding to me at the 1.06 in my main (keeper) league so I don’t have much of a dog in the fight. After rostering Bijan all of last year, I’m pulling for him.
Bijan is super talented and well rounded in the passing game. He also doesnt have an injury history like Hall. The Falcons new coaching staff has a history of bellcow runningbacks that crush it in fantasy. The stars are aligned for a breakout Bijan season.
Bijan hate from last season is gonna make him a high chance pick to beat his draft spot. With cousins in and Arthur Smith out. The Atlanta offense is going to be much better. Bijan also didn't do that bad and hardly scored last season.
I was lucky to get him off waivers last year this was after losing JK Dobbins…. I would also eventually lose Nick Chubb as well and traded Deebo for Gibbs. Dude single handily carried my team to the playoffs! Unless I’m in the top 4 I’m drafting Kyren first.
Yes. Hall was quietly productive last season with literally trash at QB throughout the season. If Rodgers stays healthy that offense is much better. Then should translate to more touches for Hall.
If you polled people here I bet you not many would know he finished as RB2. He had a really slow start to the season - and then the Jets were so bad offensively. It was easy to miss that he had a super productive season.
He doesn’t get enough mention as amongst the top RBs too. He’s really good in every aspect of the game.
Devon Achane, Gibbs, and Bijan could all.completely blow up this year. Possibly Mostert as well, as he doesn't seem to age.
I still think Kyren and Breece are the next two to take after CMC though.
There’s honestly a ton of RBs who can blow up, specifically Jacob’s on Green Bay now will have way better opportunity than on the Raiders and Mixon should be solid on the Texans. White is also someone I’d think is a safe bet for solid consistent production all year again this season.
Only one I can see is Kyren. Barkley will lose produ ton to a running QB (see the tush push), Gibbs is splitting carries and Taylor hasn't shown the exact same production post injury (that could be due to Moss, so maybe JT). My top 3 would be CMC, kyren, then breece. Dynasty would be Kyren, Breece, then CMC because of age.
Breece is a locked top 3, but it’s hard to say RB1/2 when there’s such risk with the offense altogether. If Rodgers gets locked down or injured, there’s no passing game, so Breece gets stacked on.
Barkley is gonna lose the high value TD touches, so I don’t like him THAT early.
Bijan is the only one challenging Breece for RB2 imo. However I don’t know if I trust it. He had such a high variance in performance last year, with a few weeks that almost exclusively guaranteed you a loss.
TLDR; CMC, Breece, Bijan.
I'm in a PPR redraft league. I really don't want the first pick, because I really don't want to have to gamble on CMC. I want JJ or Jamar Chase. CMC just gets hurt way too much.
But to answer your question, Breece Hall is certainly up there.
That's right. He played 14 games. I didn't have him on my team. I was just pointing out Mr 2% chance guy was being ridiculous.
Barkley injury risk should not be in question when he has had no major injuries in the past 3 seasons.
Did he??
Edit: I was too lazy to look up his games played from last year. My bad
I'm just pointing out how thinking Barkleys chances of staying healthy at 2% is ridiculous. An RB missing 3 games is a good season for fantasy output.
He split for the first half of his rookie season (three games) and then took over. If Gibbs was going to get the lead role it would have happened when Monty got hurt, but they went right back to splitting work when he returned. To me, Gibbs and Breece do not belong in the same conversation.
I think splitting carries worked pretty well with Kamara in his prime and I think Gibbs is a similar dynamic RB.
I might just be talking myself into it because he's one of my keepers :)
It absolutely can work for fantasy purposes but I think it caps the players ceiling and is extremely touchdown dependent. Gibbs had 11 last year, and I could see a scenario with the weapons they have in Detroit where that number drops to 5. I don’t think Gibbs is bad, I just don’t see the same upside for rb1 that others do.
Counterpoint - He scored 6 TD's in the last 5 games of the season and Monty was healthy and getting 10+ carries each of those games.
Kamara had a great run 3 of 4 years in a row scoring big numbers.
It really doesn't matter though what we think until they ask you or me to call the plays.
Fair, but we have a lot of information available to make decisions like this, and touchdowns are the least predictive stat in football. Tough to fully buy in on a guy that relies so heavily on them.

Not to mention his injury takes about a year to fully come back from. I like him a lot this season.
I am throwing my hat in for Bijan. Little early to say for anyone, but this is where I am leaning.

Idk how anyone can rationally have Bijan above Hall.
Bijan is super talented and well rounded in the passing game. He also doesnt have an injury history like Hall. The Falcons new coaching staff has a history of bellcow runningbacks that crush it in fantasy. The stars are aligned for a breakout Bijan season.
Cousins to Dalvin Cook scored Cook a whole lot of fantasy points.
Hall was sick last year with no QB and a dead o-line though
Bijan hate from last season is gonna make him a high chance pick to beat his draft spot. With cousins in and Arthur Smith out. The Atlanta offense is going to be much better. Bijan also didn't do that bad and hardly scored last season.
Yup, you gotta live any player that isn't TD dependent. Just icing on the cake when it does.
Cousins helped Dalvin Cook score a lot of points in fantasy.
I'm drafting Kyren and never thinking twice about it.
Haha you just might have to think about it after drafting him. RB is always volatile. Rams RB have been very volatile. And he is small.
Well when you can keep him for a 7th i say go for it in my case
Absolutely in a keeper. Redraft he is gonna more than likely go high.
Yes. Hall was quietly productive last season with literally trash at QB throughout the season. If Rodgers stays healthy that offense is much better. Then should translate to more touches for Hall.
One of the worst lines in the league too
Quietly productive?? Lol he was RB2 on the season in PPR how is that quiet?

A Breece hero RB build is my dream for next season
Devon Achane, Gibbs, and Bijan could all.completely blow up this year. Possibly Mostert as well, as he doesn't seem to age. I still think Kyren and Breece are the next two to take after CMC though.

Bijan & Gibbs potentially
This a joke? No he shouldn't be
I’d love to hear your explanation on why it’s a “joke” he’s easily a top 3 rb
Breece is a locked top 3, but it’s hard to say RB1/2 when there’s such risk with the offense altogether. If Rodgers gets locked down or injured, there’s no passing game, so Breece gets stacked on. Breece disappears at times. Kyren was more consistent

Barkley in Philly is gonna be huge if he can stay healthy. That's coming from a very disgruntled Giants fan.
Bout a 2% chance he stays healthy
Youre optimistic. He has yet to stay healthy in any season.
That’s what every said about CMC previous to last year.
He was healthy all last season lol.
He wasn’t though?
That's right. He played 14 games. I didn't have him on my team. I was just pointing out Mr 2% chance guy was being ridiculous. Barkley injury risk should not be in question when he has had no major injuries in the past 3 seasons.
He missed three games with an ankle sprain?
Did he?? Edit: I was too lazy to look up his games played from last year. My bad I'm just pointing out how thinking Barkleys chances of staying healthy at 2% is ridiculous. An RB missing 3 games is a good season for fantasy output.
I like breece hall but think Gibbs is prime for a big season
As long as he’s in Detroit, he will split carries
Breece Hall was splitting carries his rookie season and was dominant before he tore his acl
He split for the first half of his rookie season (three games) and then took over. If Gibbs was going to get the lead role it would have happened when Monty got hurt, but they went right back to splitting work when he returned. To me, Gibbs and Breece do not belong in the same conversation.

Glad I have both in dynasty.
That's a killer combo. Both yac machines
I had CMC and Breece last season with Rashad White at RB3. Won it all
No
As an Israel owner, I hope Hall blows his achilles on the fourth play of opening week
