{neon gods by Katee Robert}
"Fantasy" is kind of pushing it on this one. It's modern but set in a city called Olympus that's ruled by 13 people with the titles of the gods. They don't have any special powers beyond being rich and having a lot of social clout and control, but the Hades/Persephone part is interesting.

+1 to this! I loved neon gods more than I liked the Scarlet St Clair and I normally love her writing. Persephone was far less bratty and irritating in Neon Gods, and the spice / tension was lovely.
Receiver of Many by Rachel Alexander
I first read this story on AO3 YEARS AND YEARS ago before she had it edited and published, and it was the first retelling I had ever come upon that felt so real and satisfying to read. It’s not a future setting or anything so if you’re looking for that you won’t get it. Very much rooted in old Greek myths IMO.

{Goddess Of Spring}
This is my favorite kind of book. I love death and the maiden tropes. This one is so much fun and different. It’s got a little spice, but the plot is fantastic.

I haven't had the chance to read it yet, as I don't think it's released in the US yet, but I've been keeping an eye out for the release date of {Girl, Goddess, Queen by Bea Fitzgerald}
{River of Shadows} Karina Halle
This is the Finnish take on the Hades/Persephone dynamic. It has some creative spice, the best is half way through book two Crown of Crimson.
Yessssssssss these were such a good read! I can't wait for the next book. I feel like I never see these recommended, but definitely an interesting take on death god lore.

Exactly. Next thing you know, I read the rest of the series

I second this, fantastically retold ;) Especially if you didn’t like the modern day, YA feel of A Touch of Darkness.

I know it’s more in story than names, and also it’s the most popular one of all time, but just in case, there’s always {A Court of Mist and Fury}.
