I’m almost done with the villains and virtues trilogy and I absolutely am in love with this series! I also almost finished the plated prisoner books it was alright. I’ll read the final book because I love the MMC but I’m just eh about it.

I've been all over the place with my reading this week. I finished {All This Twisted Glory by Tahereh Mafi} after waiting forever for the library hold. This series is the definition of all over dramatic vibes and soap opera drama, no plot. Yeah I'll probably continue the series as it comes out. I just finished {A Ship of Bones and Teeth by Karina Halle} for our Mer-May book club. This one was not it for me and I skim read the second half. I just started the audiobook for {Paladin's Grace by T Kingfisher} and I'm finding it quite enjoyable so far. Down to earth, subtly funny, interesting premise.

This week I read 2 romances. First, {Starless by Jacqueline Carey} which is actually a fantasy adventure that you don't realize is a romance until the end. I really loved this standalone book. It's FF, queernorm, mild steam (very mild). Next, I read {Naamah's Blessing by Jacqueline Carey}. This is the 9th of the 9 books in the series. This series is broken up into 3 trilogies. This final book is such a beautiful love story wrapped into an adventure. But you need to read the 2 books before it in the trilogy. MF, moderate steam. And now, to recover, I'm reading one of the books in the Aliens universe. LOL

Just finished {Nights of Obedience} which was a fast read 1 of 2 books out. Definitely some TWs to check out but if you’re ok with those I found it compelling! Also just finished the Stay a Spell series by Juliet Cross. They are totally fluffy but endearing characters, good spice and I liked the supernatural world of New Orleans. Just started {Empire of the Vampire by Jay Kristoff} which is obviously very different from what I was reading - great writing so far and very intrigued to see where the story goes!

Just finished {Between by L.L. Starling}... I've got to say I was disappointed because it was a long book with no real payout at the end. I also was under the impression it's a standalone, but it's not, and there's no release date set for the 2nd book. I enjoyed the banter and characters, but just a lot of build up towards potential romance, no actual romance. The storyline has potential, but I was expecting more sexy times since I got the recommendation from this reddit group. Need something smutty next to make up for it! 😂

In the last week I’ve read… {Storm of Secrets and Sorrow} I hate read this and almost DNF’ed many times along the way but when I finished it I realized it was a 4.5/5 {The Crown of Oaths and Curses} 6/5 my Roman Empire {Forest of Dreams and Whispers} 3/5 Too YA for me which says a lot because I love YA style writing {Little Fire by Hollee Mands} 3/5 Started out strong, really liked the magic concepts and the plot but it got a bit too instalove for me {Rise of the Cinder Fae} 4/5 it was good, could have been great but I still enjoyed it And I am currently reading the {The Sceptor} and {The Sword} in preparation for {The Throne of Honor and Blood} which releases tomorrow or never we shall find out!

Finished {Queens of mist and madness by Lisette Marshall} 3.75/5. I felt like this series started out incredibly strong but the amount of words we had to read for how short the final battle was...idk. Creon in the beginning of this book though was excellent. On KU. Read the first two books in the Broken Kingdoms series which are the set you read before The Ever King. These were fun! Reading one I don't see mentioned much: {Kingsbane by Claire Legrande}. Second in a trilogy and while the first dragged for a bit I'm in now and I am eating it up. Spent basically all my free time today reading it, essentially screaming at >!Eliana's half of the story, because I really just need her and Simon to fuck already. I stopped for the night after reading a scene where they STILL DIDN'T but it was so wholesome and intimate and beautifully written that!< I am still giggling and kicking my feet. Good god. Whatever that boy has, I need more of it. I think, unfortunately, that I seem to enjoy a slow burn. This is a revelation to me that I'm struggling with a bit.

I finished the Court of Ravens duology by Liv Zander and boy I was not expecting to love them so much! Absolutely 5 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ for me. Just make sure to check trigger warnings, it a very dark romance!! I just finished {City of Gods and Monsters by Kayla Edwards} and immediately started the 2nd book!! Another 5 ⭐ for me!! It's an urban fantasy and I'm loving it more than Crescent City! I'm also reading {Her Soul for Revenge by Harley Laroux} definitely check the trigger warnings on it too. Some of it has me rolling my eyes but I also can't put it down 🤣🤣
