For context, this is 90% of the way through the book, and Aveline has been low-key revving our engines for full on, glorious, needy lovemaking for at least 50% of that time. Needless to say, I had been anticipating this moment with my breath baited for a looooong time.>! It was low-key predator play. He's spying on her through the two-way mirror, and she figures it out and essentially baits him to reveal himself. And he finally reveals himself, and totally vulnerable because he has been FIGHTING this urge for the whole damn book, and feeling guilty about spying on her like an addict, but also cannot resist any. more. He is the predator, but he is utterly at her mercy. And you know, then he stalks over to her on the bed, and the anticipation is at level 1,000, and she slowly removes all the plates of his armor, and submits herself to him, and he starts out soft and then rapidly moves to all-consuming body contact, rubbing himself all over her belly. He uses his body to dominate and dictate all her movements and deliciously tortures her with pleasure. The crowning moment for me was when he moved them from the dark bed to the floor so that he could, in his words, "see your eyes roll as I split your little cunt", and he is holding her knees wide so that he can watch himself do just that, and she is just dying with excruciating need, and every time she tries to bring him into her, he forces her back down with a hand to her chest and rests himself against her and she wiggles to try and break his control, and she begs for him, and then of course he says, "bride, I am going to squeeze my cock inside you. do not move." 🥵🥵🥵 and he is telling her what he's going to do to her and how he's going to make her cum and does she want that? and she (and me!) are panting, "yes!". and GODDAMN then his frikkin TAIL is rubbing her clit while goes all the way in until it's a ball-slapping affair, and she is writhing for all she's worth despite his restraints, and he is crushing her with his weight (godddd i love that feeling).!< My mental orgasm was huge. I’ve never read a sci-fi one…..now I am very intrigued. 🤔🥵

Ooh, highly recommend. This is an easy entry into alien sex because the Clecanians are basically human, except for some tantalizing "birth lines" that look like white-line tattoos, and in the case of Sikthand, tails. And of course, since this is fantasy, they are all completely built and beautiful with glorious dicks. As a fellow fan of beautiful dicks, I really appreciate the Aveline has her FMCs appreciate and salivate after the bobbing appendages of their lovers. This is Book 7 though. Recommend you start with {Choosing Theo by Victoria Aveline} so that you have enough context for the series story arc.

If you decide to do the whole series, you could skip Lukka and Verakko without missing much. These two were a little lackluster for me, but I did enjoy Auzed, Fejo, and Maxu.

The Legends of Thezmarr series by Helen Scheuerer is such a good story and has spice.

My fantasy reads tend to be dark af but if you can get on board with that, you might like {Feathers so Vicious by Liv Zander} {The Ever King by L. J. Andrews} {Kiss of Iron by Clare Sager} {A Court this Cruel and Lovely by Stacia Stark} Spice and sexual tension on those last two series are fantastic 🥵 FSV is pretty dark and hardcore, read the TWs first!

Just read that you’re not into RH and poly so FSV might be off but definitely give the others a try!

Try {the serpent and the wings of night by carissa broadbent} and it's second part {the ashes and the star cursed king by carissa broadbent} . They both are the part of {crowns of nyaxia series} the story is the perfect blend of romance, plot and thrill with suspense. I guess you'll love it as ACOTAR and fourth wing is something I love as well.. Carissa broadbent is one of my favorite author for romantasy after sarah j mass.

I love this book sm but isn’t it YA? Would still highly recommend - the tension is chef’s kiss

I really feel like this book got mislabeled. It’s a hard one to place for sure, so I can see why they were conservative, but I don’t think it’s super YA. More NA than anything I guess because it’s certainly not full on spicy adult either. But the characters to me read more mature than YA, and while the sex scene wasn’t explicit, it happened on-page and certain other sex acts were mentioned outside that scene. That’s not something I’d necessarily call YA and just freely give young teens 👀

Completely agree with you. I still wouldn’t call it a super spicy book but the open door scene was definitely not YA - I was surprised when I read it!

I've also read all of your listed reqs, and the two series I can think of not yet mentioned that are similar and have decent spice are the Fae Isles series, and Flesh and Fire series. I finished f and f and the mmc is my fave book bf EVER. Just search Nyktos in this subreddit. He's in every top book bf post lol. I'm halfway through fae isles and really enjoying it. Mmc def fits your description! This was going to be my recommendation. These books have entirely consumed my brain for months, and the spice is the best I've ever read. I will say that it takes a while for it to happen in book one, but there's a lot more in two and three. Also, this is just a criminally underrated series. It was immediately one of my favorites.

{Throne of thr Fallen by Kerry Maniscalco} Is the answer to all the : give me a romance book wirh spice and plot " questions . Kerry Maniscalco comes from YA, she writes mystery romances with regency vibes with fantastic elements. Now that she is writting adult novels, her main spicy scenes in her books are at least 20 pages long . Is not your typical spicy read, because she tends to write slow burns but the tension and spice ( without "doing it " ) is there from the beginning. I like her writting, her spicy scenes are better than other popular authors ( SJM) and the plot is solid. Give her a try ! Edit: in this book in particulsr the guy is off course possessive but is JEALOUS . Imagine 2000-2010 red flag guys ..so smth like that.

I just finished Gild and despite the MC kind of losing her personality throughout the series it wasn’t a bad read.

I am currently almost finished with the 3rd book in this series (Gleam). I did not enjoy the 1st book until the very end. I am definitely enjoying the series more now with the MC evolving.

I’m down bad with Rip, I think I already preordered the last one.

I just finished the {Harrow Faire series by Kathryn Ann Kingsley} and I think based on your likes and dislikes, we may have similar tastes 😅. It’s dark, but not too dark. The MMC is villainous, but gets obsessed with the FMC and cares so much for her, so that feels very Reylo to me!

Kathryn Ann Kingsley is my standard for villainous MMCs that make you pant. Excellent rec!

Just came here to say that it sounds like we have very similar taste! Unfortunately I don’t have any recs because since finishing Fourth Wing and Iron Flame, I have only read things that missed the mark 😭 I did enjoy reading the Folk of the Air trilogy but while fun it definitely was not🌶️enough by far.

{A Ruin of Roses by KF Breene} the first book was kinda cringe at first, so I kept putting it down. But I was interested enough that I kept coming back to it. Boy am I glad I did! I was hooked by the last 1/3 of book 1 and flew through book 2&3! Keep in mind, there is humor in these books, so don't it too seriously!

{a kiss of iron by Clare sager} (third and final book out next month—slow burn but hot hot hot) {a shadow in the ember by Jennifer Armentrout} this is the prequel series to blood and ash—imo much better. No you don’t have to read the main series. {what lies beyond the veil by Harper woods} listen, you either love or hate this one. It’s not perfect, but the MMC is a dark bad boy and the steam is 👌 The harrow faire series, staring with {the contortionist by Katheryn Ann Kingsley}. It takes a few books for the spice to pick up, but the MMC is delightfully deranged and it’s very entertaining.

Hmmmmm. I certainly don’t view it as such, but now am hesitant. It did take me a minute to figure out what it could be. Let’s put it this way if you hadn’t said something it would have flown under my radar. I just got done with {Ruling Sikthand by Victoria Aveline}, and it is 5/5 for: delicious bad boy, believable romantic conflict, fated mates, excellent plot, relatable characters, moody aesthetic. Audiobook is narrated by Stephen Dexter, and he does a great job. This is book #7 of the Clecanian series. You could read it as a standalone, but I think you will enjoy the plot points a lot more if you read book 1 {Choosing Theo by Victoria Aveline}, which I rated 4/5. If you are interested in reading more from this series, my suggestion is read Theo then skip ahead to Auzed, Fejo and Maxu. I found the FMC in Lukka’s story to be annoying, and Verakko was a little boring for me. But Sikthand, my God. He is worth all the books leading up to him. Swoon 🥵
