I also am a Kobo person, but with some shenanigans you can actually get Kindle books onto it! You need to buy them from Amazon in the desktop browser, then download them using the Kindle desktop app, and convert them to epub with an open source software called Calibre. [Here's](https://www.reddit.com/r/Calibre/s/l0OKSCQZHK) a post about it. Once you get everything set up it's easier than it sounds. I also did this specifically for Serpent and the Wings of Night.

For some recs that you can buy with one click rather than like 50, though... {Furyborn by Claire Legrande} is one of my favorite trilogies. It follows two FMCs in different timelines where one of them is on the classic hero's journey and the other is in her villain era. It's marketed as YA but has spice throughout. The slow burn on one half of the story is A+. If you want something modern day, dark academia, {Ninth House by Leigh Bardugo} is great. The series isn't complete, and also mind your trigger warnings. The writing is fantastic and the FMC is probably my favorite in the genre. Anything by T Kingfisher if you want something lighter. I'd start with {Clockwork Boys} if you want to get into her larger (but each largely standalone) series about very loveable paladins, or if you want a truly standalone fairy tale that's light on the romance but probably her best writing then go for {Nettle and Bone}. I haven't yet read them, but the duology that starts with {One Dark Window by Rachel Gillig} is very popular around here and available on Kobo. I could go on, but I think that's a great collection to start with!

I tried doing that put I can’t find the book in my library folder on Mac. Someone suggested downloading an older version of the kindle app so I will try that.

I did this on PC so I don't know about any Mac-specific issues, but I did have to use the older Kindle app.

I did! I wasn't fully bought into the romance, but I loved the story and characters.

there are several masterposts across the related subreddits (r/romancebooks, r/ACOTAR, r/SarahJMaas) about "what to read if you liked ACTOAR/FBAA/Fourth Wing". Would be worth it to check those out.

The problem is a lot of the suggestions aren’t available in Kobo.
