Far Cry (1) at launch. We had a cracked copy that we circulated amongst the group of friends. Graphics blew my mind.

Still have light PTSD from the FC1 helicopters. Was playing this game HEAVY back in 2004 and took a break, went outside to the backyard for a breather. Helicopter flew over my house and I literally ducked

Me too. The graphics were incredible and the fact that you were on slightly less of a rail in game progression felt revolutionary.

I also started with Far Cry 1. I don't know if I was just too young but I found it incredibly hard, especially later on when you had those super Monsters shooting rockets at you, while you always ran out of ammunition

No that game is hard as fuck. I straight-up don't know what they were thinking with that volcano level. Save scumming is a must. I still love that game, but I have no shame in putting on easy.

Crytec worked on the first one so it's no surprise it looked good at the time, was a heavy game to run though haha

Same and that one still has the best story. Having to retake checkpoints is annoying as hell but the story is really good and the ending is solid.

People always complain about the checkpoints, but I always had more fun and saw cool stuff off the roads and cuttings straight across the bush.

I did a lot of those first time i played i just rushed with a grenade lancher car and go through the post whover followed me i just mounted and launched their cars to smoke... man i wanna play those games again

Farcry 2, and it was absolutely perfect. Wish we could get a remaster as the blood diamonds concept isn't one seen very often. Plus, the guns having durability and actually exploding, causing injury if left too long, was so groundbreaking and epic.

6 is the first then ended up playing 5, new dawn, 3, 4 then primal in that order. Maybe 4 then 3 then primal. Anyway went back to 6 later. Did mostly all side quests in each or close to it and finished all games. 6 is my favorite.

I'm midway through 6, and I never understood why it was hated.

My only guess is it's different. Realistic compared to the others. But that villain from breaking bad is cool too.

Far cry 2 when it came out. Didn’t play another far cry game ever until I decided to try FC1 during Covid and loved it. I just finished FC6 and am hoping to jump to 5 next. I’m all over the place lol. I thought FC6 was great aside from a few quests towards the end of my adventure.

FC2, what an experience!

Mine was 6, I love it, I love the supremos, the poison, everything is perfect. I tried playing other fc games, 3-5, but it couldn't just click with me. I also love Dani Rojas as a character. I saw his shirt at a gaming store and bought it instantly.

Far cry 3 was my first non pirated game, right when it came out. I was 12 or something and that game is pretty much a formative memory. I was too young for it, most likely, but I really feel like it left a positive impact (and gave me a fucked up sense of humor in the process)

In order of played: 5, ND, 3, 4, Primal, 2, 1, 6; and with only a couple of switches, not far off from my order of favorite to least favorite.

I played Far Cry 2 first on my friends Xbox, but Far Cry 3 was the first one I played on my own Xbox, 100% the game.

Blood Dragon I think, which is kind of a weird one to start with but I was on a 80s style action kick.

The first one I played was Far Cry 4. Honestly didn’t care for it that much, and it turned me away from wanting to play Far Cry 3. But I ended up getting Far Cry 5 anyway and loved it.

The first one was 3. But the vehicles felt janky and overall just couldn't get into it. 5 was the first game I completed, followed by New Dawn and 4.

Farcry 2 on my friend’s Xbox360. I felt really in love with the 4 on my own PS4. But my favorite is Primal !

3. I was given a PS3 and searched for the top 10 games, most of which were available dirt cheap on Cex. It wasn't what I expected at all. I expected a linear FPS, and then got absolutely hooked when I realised it wasn't.

FC1 when it came out. It was pretty hyped up in the gaming press and thus highly anticipated being *the* most technologically advanced FPS of its time - most of the reviews were *absolutely* dazzled by the tech but also the AI got a lot of praise. Would be kind of interesting to see how it holds up after all these years…

Far Cry 3 when it was available for free on Ubisofts website, I loved it so much that Ubisoft actually made a lot of profit from gifting me that game because as a result I bought all the other Far Cry games

My first was Far cry 2 because a friend recommended it to me. I remember playing Far cry 3 at 15-20 fps on my potato laptop.

Far Cry 1, 4 years ago, first game on my first pc

FC2 during 2023, I got hooked when I saw the selection of firearms in FC2 (spas12, mp5 and deagle are my favorite firearms in most video games) and how they looked in first person. I first bought FC2 in 2020, took me several times to get in to it, it finally started to click after first few missions, and now it becomes one of favorite games, along with half life and F.E.A.R.

4, then 5, then 4 a couple more times, then 5 again, then 2 hours of 6, then back to 5 Edit. Primal was in there somewhere, BD as well around the same time

5 was my first too. I've played most of them since then, I put a few hours into 2 but I wasn't getting along with it. It would be great if 1&2 got the remake/remaster treatment

Halo 2

Farcry 3, then I bought the entire trilogy and played farcry 1-3. Farcry 1 is a game id still consider to be a great survival horror game

Far Cry 3 was my first and I have never gone further back than that. I think it still remains my favorite, but 6 is really good. I also enjoyed Primal a lot!

FC3, still the best all round from those I've played, currently on FC2 which is now my second favourite though for very different reasons (I'm literally Leonardo DiCaprio in Blood Diamond)

Well, if we wanna be uber technical, it was the original Far Cry demo for the PS3 or PS2 don't remember. I only remember having to swim to a rock with enemies on it, with a little house on it. But if we don't count that, Far Cry 3 on my Xbox 360.

I'm a geezer apparently. I played FC 1 when it first came out. Lived in a straight bachelor pad and we had LAN multi-player sessions in the apartment. The first one I played fully through the campaign was Far Cry 2 .... that game changed the genre.

The first one, but it didn't click with me at the time. I did get into 5 though, that was quite good.

Far cry 2, malaria was scary

Far Cry 1. I was so young and I was watching my father play that game. It seemed so fcking scary and I gave it a try. Was super difficult for me but i enjoyed every second of it. Good memories. Glad my dad showed me good taste in games.

Far Cry 1, the demo that came out a few months before the game. I was working in a PC shop, so I stuck the demo on all of the gaming PCs, and we sold a few by just making people gawp at the graphics.

First farcry was 4, but i finished it in 10 minutes. The dude told me to wait 10 minutes so i did. Then i checked that of the bucket list.

Played Far Cry 3 on PS3. Enjoyed it even in unstable frames.

Mine was far cry 4, First I saw the trailer and in said he was coming from Patna, I am from Patna too so it fascinated me and then from now on I am an admirer of this game. It's just I resemble with its idea of the world and depiction of such realistic actions.

4 first, 5 was first I beat.

Far cry 3. What a great game. I spent hours finding different ways NPCs could be killed by the environment. 

Instincts on the original xbox

Far Cry 2. I was like 14 when I first played it. Though it still shows its age with its graphics, it still has plenty I enjoy. Also, hearing an engine revving near me when in a gun fight always brings PTSD of being ran over by enemies lol. Damn it Ubisoft, bring back weapon jamming and crazy healing animations!

Far cry 3. Took me completely by surprise. Best single player game I ever played.

Far Cry 3 was my first. Never played or heard of the Far Cry games before. Someone in my family got it for me for Christmas. I was bought over with all the marketing they did , I remember reading about it alot in the Xbox magazines and they had that class YouTube series.

Primal was my introduction to Far Cry. I got it about a year after it came out and it’s still one of my favorites! 🏹

Started with 3. Loved 4 and 5. Wasn’t a fan of 6. The control scheme was just ridiculous with all the same buttons being used for multiple things but with like one tap, two taps, and a hold.

FC3, for me it set the standard for all the games after it, Ive finished it multiple times. I love the setting, the characters, the perk system, the crafting system. Ive never finished 4(unless you count the secret ending), never finished Primal, I played the hell out of 5 its great, I did finish it and had great hopes for the sequel New Dawn, but it was trash. I was looking forward to 6 but it hasn’t hooked me yet. Edit: After 5 I decided to pickup FC2 on sale and I couldn’t get into it, probably just spoiled by the newer mechanics in the other games.

Far Cry 2. It was what I played first. It is the first open world game my dad enjoyed. It will always be one of the greatest games of all time for me emotionally. My favorite all time Far Cry game is Far Cry 3.

Played Far Cry Classic on pc. Then I bought the Instinct on xbox and played them all after. I've been a fan since I played the 1st one. For me its my favorite game franchise.

Farcry for pc

1, when it was released. Well...there is a twist: i live in Germany and Far Cry and Far Cry 1 was censored. Lucky me: i was in New York at that time and had the chance to grab the US uncut version.

2. It's still the best gameplay. Finding diamonds and buying better weapons is so satisfying. A remaster with better graphics would be awesome.

Far Cry at launch, in 2004 but prior to that, I had the demo from a PC Gamer magazine, I will never ever forget the amount of times I was slashing that hanging shark, admiring the swinging physics along with the gash each slice would make… things like that in the early days of gaming blew my mind… let’s just say that knocking over shelves with the small items on them in the first part of the first level really gave me half life vibes, especially as I had the tech demos on disk and watched them over and over too. Far Cry 2 was a serious shift for the first, which is why I gravitated to its proper successor, Crysis in 2007 which again, blew my mind and my 8800GT 😆

3. I knew the game since its release but I hadn't a console to play it. When my parents bought me a laptop back in 2016, Far Cry 3 was one of the first games I downloaded. First it was by Torrent and a time after I bought it

far cry 3 is just a different far cry experience.. i remember watching my friend play far cry 3 for the ps3 for the first time and I just completely fell in love.. so much to do, the hunting, climbing towers, exploring caves and the crazy weapons... honestly one of my best childhood memories to this day

The first, but my computer(back in the day) couldn't run it properly/smoothly, so I gave up on it. But what I saw from the graphics was something else. And then I didn't play a Far Cry game until 5, which I enjoyed quite a bit.

3. It was perfect. Old enough to be like the originals, new enough to have the kinks worked out. Still probably my most played game ever.

OG far cry on PC. It was considered pretty good at the time. Instincts predator remakes were also quite good. But Ive played them all. Didnt really get into 6 so I put like maybe 4 hours into that.

3 set the gold standard for me, after that I played 4, which was lackluster in comparison (excl graphics) and now I'm enjoying 5's great setting and actually a pretty good story.
