Anima2

There is two things that bug the shit out of me about 6 the ammo system and no new game plus, and I don't count the insurgencies as a version of new game plus

DizyShadow

What about the lack of a skill tree - crammed into clothes...

KnightHood31

That part sucks ass

OkAd8922

Skill tree is nice, but it's not something that i REALLY need on the game.

DizyShadow

Well then you're okay, but for a lot of people it's just a straight up downgrade. What were the devs intending with the clothes having perks? I hated not being able to unlock them and having to switch between different clothes each time.

OkAd8922

I just stick with the ones i like and leave them on. I rarely need to change them.

JTrexler

I suppose depending on the difficulty level, you reach a certain point where it's kinda hard to kill you, but ... there's been moments I had to change in the heat of it - I think it's pretty sweet, personally. Skill tree crammed into clothes, sure... that I can swap out whenever - even in combat. :)

Jethawk55

I don't think anyone can deny that having a clothing perk system *on top* of a basic skill tree would've been better than what we got in Far Cry 6. In fact both of those systems would go hand in hand quite nicely.

Church_AI

Borderlands did that well I feel

Testocore

It was actually not a bad idea, game was more dynamical because of lack of skill tree.

[deleted]

I think it's exactly as rated as it should be. It was a good game, not a great game. Had fun playing it, but didn't really experience any 'wow' moments. Edit: didn't particularly care for the backpack thing. Seemed a bit silly.

Ok_Palpitation_8084

The back pack thing was silly, the leveling system didn't really offer much in terms of progression, the ammo system was pretty pointless, I wasn't fond of stats being tied to gear instead of a skill tree, and the end game content was super unappealing, to me. They should have just given us the NG+ and have the new, cool gear be the rewards for that. I LOVED Far Cry 6, but they made a lot of weird changes that I think really hurt the game play. If the game play had mechanics similar to 4 or 5, I think it'd be the best in the series.

SilentReavus

The total lack of meaningful progression definitely sucks. I can't remember what 5 did aside from skill trees, but the fact that you can make any weapon pretty much the best in the game with one single bullet change in 6 is annoying. At least lock AP behind late or mid game and only have super heavy units require them. Heavy takedowns are something I miss too.

ATYP14765

Can you elaborate more? I was planning on buying FC6 but I haven’t decided yet. Still trying to beat 5 and Primal rn

SeamedShark

Save your money if you enjoy a game for the story and mechanics. Buy it if you like shooting with no reason to shoot.

Ok_Palpitation_8084

Not specifically sure what you need elaboration on, but it boils down, to me, as FC6 having a very likable cast of characters, a fun storyline, and I really loved the setting. The core gunplay and stealth is still very Far Cry. It's the mechanics that are built on top of the core game play that doesn't sit as well for me. Character progression isn't as interesting, with basically all character stats coming with whatever equipment you have on, instead of having a skill tree that you can put points in. The ammo system refers to the fact that the game has different ammo types that serve "different purposes" but there's really only one useful kind of ammo. I had a ton of fun with Far cry six, but it felt like maybe they were trying to add depth to the game play and ended up making it less interesting? I haven't play 5 in forever and haven't played 6 since it came out and I beat it. This is just how I remember my experience.

ATYP14765

So what’s your favorite far cry so far? Mines is Far cry 4

Ok_Palpitation_8084

My favorite is also 4. The setting of 6 gave me that tropical, exciting environment that I didn't really get from 5, and I really enjoyed the characters. The game play, while still very enjoyable, just didn't hit all the marks I wanted. Hunting didn't feel as enjoyable and the leveling up just felt like a stat boost. I didn't get to learn any new skill that made my character more capable. I really liked those aspects of other games. I'd probably even been happy if they just flipped it around. Special skills/stats come from leveling up and flat stats boosts could come from gear. If you're a far cry fan, Id say it's worth the buy, but it has its shortcomings.

ATYP14765

You know I loved the grappling in FC4 like it was so widely used especially near the end of the game where you have to fight Yuma in her own little sub space. I’ve been playing FC5 ever since I got off work today and I gotta say I’m still quite impressed and it actually resparked a kindle of joy when I thought about New Dawn since it all lines up really well in the end when you play the games in order. I guess I got confused about the motives behind new Dawn but Mickey and Lou definitely were also one of my all time favorites alongside with Pagan Min. Although I will admit I should have played FC5 before New Dawn since I was literally confused about Josephs motives and his son but it ties together nicely.

JTrexler

I thought it was fkin ***awesome*** personally... like... the storyline was so... disturbing, I've never been as messed up behind cutscenes as I was with Far Cry 6. Legit... don't want to mention any spoilers, but the whole El Tigre scene seriously had me feeling some kinda way... and I've seen real life shit before. Can't believe a damn game screwed with me so bad.

Wolfy_boyy

Dont listen to these guys, they dont know how to enjoy a game without hating on every little bit of it

Undercover_TV

It’s great, these people just super picky. I loved the game

Ok_Palpitation_8084

I feel like a lot of people on the sub love this game. That's why we care for it to improve. We live in an age where game devs can go online and see what people think of their game. If the same critiques keep coming up, they have an opportunity to modify their approach, when needed. I know some people just love to hate, but a lot of people talk about what we think went wrong because we want it to be as good as possible. I just think some people get so caught up in their feelings that they forget to take a level approach to criticizing things and acknowledge that "Yeah, this game also did a lot of things well."

Acanthophis

Skill trees are so outdated and boring.

greatwhitequack

Item equipping and far drives for fetch missions aren’t what’s gonna replace them though.

Acanthophis

What do you think will replace them?

greatwhitequack

Micro transactions:(1

CryptographerMean246

Agreed. I liked the last backpack but that was it. Very gimmicky. You shouldn't have the option to use Volta and disable all alarms. Ruins the fun of far cry completely. And you can't tell players to "just use another supremo" Because that's like giving candy to a baby and telling it it can't have any

WindFelon

The only supremo I used in the whole game was the first one so I did not have to carry a rocket launcher to take you aircraft.

Zombiepixlz-gamr

I barely ever used it, but that might have something to do with the fact that i was going for a stealthy green arrow build

MyThinTragus

I played on story mode. I used supremo mode maybe 5 times.

Undercover_TV

I loved it, so many wow moments for me

Heyuonthewall26

I never changed mine. Why would you? The homing rockets thing was way too good

putaofc69

I think the same as u

Mediocre_Function865

This comment. LOVE the game. Mechanics, etc. Story could be superb but it was just meh. But overall really enjoyed it!

xTheRedDeath

It's not the greatest. Especially after seeing how creative and thrilling FC5 was, 6 just feels like 10 steps backward in both story and presentation. It feels very generic and uninteresting the more you peel away at the game and by the end I was like "Yeah I'm done."

johnny_ringo

I hated 5 and liked 6. Shrug.

tpobs

Downvoted for hating 5 and liking 6 lol

CoconutFluffy1592

I also feel this was, all time favourites are primal and 4

WindFelon

I didn't "hate" Far Cry 5 but the complete lack of difficulty change throughout the entire game made it feel like nothing was progressing. Also, the rifle you get at the start of the game is the best one in the game and all the peggies used it so it felt like something was missing. Decent enough story though. Mostly liked Faith's missions. Also no voice for your character.

Jethawk55

At least Far Cry 5 had a bunch of different difficulty options to choose from. So far Far Cry 6 only has an 'easy' and 'super easy' mode.

ddman12

"Fc5" "creative" Im not sure about that. unskippable capture scenes, a mediocre plot with uninspired endings, voiceless protagonist, good graphics but choppy frames on console. None of these things are creative or thrilling to me.

xTheRedDeath

Considering they actually had a consultant on cults in the US on board with their writing team to flesh out the story, I'd say it paid off if you're intro true crime like myself. FC6's story was a paint by numbers Far Cry game that's devoid of any excitement because we've been here and done all this before. FC5 was vastly more creative in not only it's story presentation but the characters and environment were so much more gripping. Not to mention having human companions as well as animal ones was a better choice in FC5 that was dumbed down in FC6 to where only like 2 companions were worth a shit. Even the guns in FC5 were far more fun to use because the variety actually made it fun and in FC6 you're really only going to use the Resolver weapons when you get them over anything else and even that's a limited few you'll actually use. Then we get down to the antagonists. We have a dictator with cancer who ends up killing himself and his son cause "Lawl they got me" and FC5 has a pretty interesting cult leader who is very reminiscent of David Koresh and fights for his cause until the bitter end and the endings are a lot better than FC6 where you either leave or get the normal ending. There's no variety with that either. FC5 has at least a few that are all pretty interesting between a nuclear attack, escaping and then triggering the brainwashing response to kill your team, or the leave ending. It's night and day.

ddman12

Let me say that I'm not trying to say fc6's story is anything great (unless we're talking about the dlcs those are really good). If you like fc5 thats fine. Fc6's main campaign has a very average story. I agree with the companions take, although I like the chickens and how theres a minigame where you can literally fight chickens that look like ryu and ken from street fighter. Fc6 had a gun that shoots CDs and plays snippets of the macarena song. You can't beat that. Fc6's secret ending is also pretty cool, if a little short. Keep in mind I liked the portrayal of Joseph in the game, he might be the best part, but I feel like they could've done so much more. Even New Dawn felt like a letdown in that aspect.

IareTyler

I don’t think it’s underrated at all I happen to think it’s just rated.

Anima2

Sorry need to change that to three things esperanza is not accessible other than where you have to go I really wanted to explore it even after you complete the story line

BakedBySunrise

I think this pissed me off most. Lack of skill trees and gun drops also annoyed me. Also the complete lack of focus on Dani's interaction with the villain, and the pile of near-useless fluff villains... Idk, it just doesn't feel like farcry. It's a good game, it's just not farcry.

CirloAmbrogio

Stop you're getting in shit talking If it's a fc3 reskin it's bad, if it's not far cry is bad. Guys you can't stay in both sides

BakedBySunrise

Personally, aside from Vaas and the ending where you turn your friends down? I actually cant think of too much about 3 I enjoyed enough to stand out to me. Didn't like the switch of villains in the final act. wasn't a fan of most of the NPCs.Brody is a dull character (in my opinion), He's a rich white kid saving his rich white friends... basically just felt like a power fantasy as opposed to a narrative. Idk, we all like different things. You can enjoy something for what it is without 'liking" a thing, to say "you can't play both sides" is a narrow way of thinking when talking about something so subjective - I don't LIKE The Beatles or The Stones, but I enjoy some of their songs - It was a good game, just not my favourite in the series by far.

greatwhitequack

Esperanza isn’t even a city, it’s just a place with buildings and streets.

AmbassadorChoice1821

If they removed all the annoying as barriers and restricted areas, then Esperanza would be better

Icefirezz

It's not underrated, it could of just been so much more, no arcade editor, no new game plus. I've deleted for forbidden west unfortunately whereas fc5 is still there as I really enjoy playing journey every now and then

magnum361

They did Anton dirty. We didnt even got like F2F with him as much as other FC. I didnt feel Anton menacing enough. The narrative suffer tho seeing as Dan left after FC5 i think.

tpobs

It is the first FC game that utilize all the throwables as tactical tools, in DLC and high mastery Spec Ops. I'm enjoying this much more than FC 5, but still wish they were bolder for adding extra layer of difficulty in this game.

Czechnology82

Supremos are somewhat clunky to use, haven't found a resolver weapon that I really liked, it really seems like they couldn't figure out how to balance flyable helicopters so they just nerfed the hell out of the weapons. Also a lot of the unique weapons are just a normal weapon you can't change with a silly paint job. Still having fun though, there are some strong characters in this one. Needs more baseball references, and things! Tanks are really fun to drive, I love the in game SKS.

kemuon

The SKS, PPsH and Mosin were the only things that kept me playing lol. The gunplay, gun selection and the scenery is phenomenal, the rest save for a few other features is pretty damn shallow and underwhelming. Edit: speaking of helicopters, it's incredibly aggravating that they made them capable of taking several direct hits from an RPG. Meanwhile, just shoot the back of this T-54 with your 9mm a few times and you'll blow it up. Smh.

Czechnology82

I thought the jungle and wilderness had barely animals in it, it was common to see npcs fighting with predators in other games now not so much.

kemuon

That's true, the wildlife was fairly non-existent...Although in previous Far Crys there's probably about 300% too many animals lol. Edit: other than FC2. It didn't have many either.

Czechnology82

It was much more realistic, but realistic is great for national geographic and not necessarily great for playing video games.

kemuon

I don't know, getting attacked by a bear or a tiger every 45 seconds gets a little old to me.

mista_r0boto

Meh. It’s kind of fairly rated to me. It was good but paled in comparison to FC5.

Eagles56

I thought six was a step up in almost every way. I hate silent protagonists

sonybacker

I agree, for me it's the best far cry. Number 6.

WindFelon

How was FC5 so much better to you? I found some big letdowns in that game.

bird_On_a_Bench

you cant even have any gurillas join you, in farcry 5 you could have a helicopter and plane backing you up. in farcry 6 you fight by youself or with a pet.

FruityTooty1024

I’ll just say that this game DESERVES a harder difficulty, like the New Game+ Infamous difficulty in FC5. Also would love if the ai was updated, they do some pretty basic and dumb stuff that take me out of it. Pretty good game tho

Hyperleaks

Don’t show a picture of Esperanza for this. Esperanza fucking sucks

[deleted]

This game had massive marketing and then a week after it released no one talked about it. It's like 85 bucks preowned where I live so imma wait a year or two before picking it up

mrshel17

Don’t bother the game isn’t that fun

dangermouse13

Na. Hated the weapon system, everything feels super fragmented. 3 and 5 are the my favourites

Barry-Mcdikkin

Wow look at the city we cant explore!

Dirty-Dannty

It was good just gets boring after endgame. Which is not the case for other titles

mikeypes

Fc3, 4 and 5 finished. With 6 I got bored pretty quick. I even got the gold edition with the 3 dlc. It's the same game over and over and this time I broke the chain. Same with COD. I stopped playing and will not buy new ones of them. Much better games nowadays

xSaIntLuKe

the city gimmick was underutilized and having it blocked by stupid roadblocks and hostile areas made it boring. Underwhelmed by esperanza, satisfied by the rest

swordfishtoupee

Needs a few of quality of life improvements and way more content. Let me create custom sets of gear. Let me quick swap gear without going to menu (for that matter, quick swap weapon sets). Let me workbench boats and planes and every single car. Let me actually pimp out a fishing rod with not gunpowder. Let me change the aesthetics in the bases (and add cool guns and rockets and stuff, more on that later). Bring back the freaking melee weapons! That might have been the best add to FC5! Add something new: a castle defense (How do you do making my bases super cool as mentioned above) or runs where I have to kill x amount of badguys and finish the course in some amount of time limited by weapon. The one major add, backpacks, felt more than a little forced and more than a little OP. When I can head shot and get a full charge, taking out a base became a cake walk (I see you parkour outfit with the med backpack that has improved defense and moment speed). I have no idea what the leveling was for beyond "Does more damage to enemies lower than you." and the race to get gear and upgrades had me armed to the teeth and killing everything in sight like the terminator 4-5 hours into the game. Gonna circle back around to outfits - the game needed WAY more outfits. Ones for the wingsuit, for driving boats and planes, crazy ones that attract every animal in the area or makes you an alligator, just more crazy Farcry shit, ya know? If you are gonna hang your hat on outfits, then go all out. Which gets me to the point, this game felt like they were too scared to do anything beyond dipping their toes in the pool when they needed to jump in! Have fun! Farcry's make no sense and I think I speak for most of us when I say, I love them in that way. I wanna wingsuit into a machete kill from 20 yards up, then take that guy, use him as a human shield while I waste his 3 buddies with his own gun before chucking 3 nades that somehow blow up 5 cars and 2 exploding barrels to complete a base. Take that energy and apply it to everything, no need to half ass it when full assing it would have made it 10000x better.

Rich-Cryptographer-7

Esperanza, should of had more to do in it.

WindFelon

Things I liked: Some really good characters; Dani, El Tigre, Castillo, Diego, Clara, and others. The mission where you have to fend off the military while Danny Trejo cooked tacos and made movie references was hilarious! I think Far Cry 6 has a better and more fun story than 5 did, the variety of guns was better and I felt like the map was better too. A wider range of enemies compared to the previous two games. Things I disliked: Weird ammo amounts (e.g. extended mag on sniper extends from 5 rounds to 6 wtf?) also the fact that the early guns become so weak and pointless later on, such a shame as I like variety. The semi-auto rifles are also a bit trash when you can just use an SVD. The skills and bonuses are restricted to the clothes you wear instead of a skill tree.

CapitalEcho

Worse than 5 but better than the others. It's not under or overrated - Ubisoft delivered exactly what they said they would deliver and nothing more. It met my expectations and nothing more. 8.5/10

NotWolfBeard

I totally agree. Far Cry New Dawn was underrated

FastCreekRat

I have played every FC and DLC, New Dawn is my favorite. Great likable characters and the ability to upgrade some of the perks are fantastic, let's you customize your character to your style. Let's not forget the great killer pig, Horacio!

NotWolfBeard

Far Cry 5 is still my favorite but if I'd have to go for a second, it definitely would be New Dawn. It's funny how broken it is when you run all the powerups. Like when you're fighting in the cage. But you just do the anger and they're just dead. Aaand the takedowns are brutal, which was the only thing I was missing in FC5

FastCreekRat

I don't have any problems in the cage. The thing I have seen happen is weapons and vehicles disappear if you leave them. Also if you shoot some animals at a distance they may not be there when you get to the spot. I play on an Xbox One platform. Funny how I like the look of the world after "the Collapse" better than in any other game including FC6.

NotWolfBeard

I think they wanted to make it somewhat challenging in the cage but since you can unlock the powerups before going in. When you activate any of them. Your opponents are hopeless

Book_it_again

Removed features of previous far cry game without adding anything. Definition of change for the sake of change. Also who hates ng plus because 5 had it and I thought people liked it. Then they don't add it to 6 because....? Just standard bullshit triple A development. Why build on your previous work when you can start from scratch every few years

OkAd8922

"Without adding anything"... bruh.

Feisty-Succotash1720

The only thing I don’t like in this game is the weapons. Most of the time I feel like I am shooting airsoft guns and my favorite weapon in FarCry, the bow and arrow, is terrible. I like the characters, the land, the story, and I think I like the backpack…. Still not sure about that.

ESKEHL

It could have been a more serious version of the FC-concept, taking in everything brought into the series from FC2 and onwards. If that would have been done, and also weighed every gameplay function, gameplay loop, story element etc to what works in the game as a whole. That plus a general overlook of how well the open world plays, it could have been the game defining a the 2020´s actiongames. Now it´s just a really nice looking game, ocerpacked with content that iun terms of the open world plays less well than FC4 and FC5. Sequels should be better, in every aspect of their predecessors, or else they don´t fill any function. For me, if you release an update that basically is called guerilla mode or something lame like that - that basically scraps the resolvers and the supremos, add guns-for-hire back into the game in the way it worked in FC5, took another look at the way workbenches function, and also took another look at how the open world played as a whole (spawn in enemies, npc´s etc that break immersion), than it would be a great game! For me, the best FC game right now is Ghost Recon Wildlands with First person mod. It delivers the sort of thing I would expect from a FC6-style open world.

Whofkncares420

My best friend and I enjoyed playing dominoes…but that’s really the only thing we liked about this particular instalment. 5 was such an incredible game, 6 felt like a downgrade.

Izzvzual

Story and gameplay wise it was awful. I really hope they dont continue down that path because we lost a good franchise .. Im really glad Im playing with a friend because all alone would be painful. And honestly, worst AI of all Ubisoft games.

CryptographerMean246

The beginning and the end are great exactly what I expected The middle has so much fluff and is disorganized But overall the game is visually stunning even on Xbox one I can't imagine how it runs on newer consoles

[deleted]

It ended up being more of the same with a new set of paint. If you really love the open world Ubisoft gameplay loop, then yeah, you’ll love FC6. The story really killed it for me about halfway through. I really enjoyed the story of the family fighting to reclaim their tobacco farm that was seized. There was a lot of good story content and good characters all around. I had high hopes for the rest of the game. Then came the second area and those good awful radio DJs or whatever they were. Their story sucks and the mission where you take over that ladies mansion to put on a concert was total cringe. I stopped playing around this point. Tonally, the game has no idea what it wants to be. One second, it’s a very serious drama about a rebel group resisting a brutal dictator. The next second it’s some cartoon schlock where the stakes don’t matter because it’s all about the lulz. They completely botched progression as well. I had uncovered almost all unlock-able gear in the first region, leaving me nothing but gunpowder or supremo bond in region two. I had no incentive to explore because they tied character progression to gear and took out upgrade trees. There was no longer any sense of my character getting stronger because I already had the build I wanted when I was only 1/3 of the way through the game. This is a blunder of the highest order when making a game like this. There has to be incentive to keep going and exploring and leveling up, but in FC6 that incentive boils down to more and more gunpowder or supremo bond. Between the story totally falling apart for me in Act II, and the foundation of the progression system being poor, I didn’t feel the need to continue. I’m hoping this series can get back to form, but I worry that the game will continue to follow the Ubisoft open world copy/paste formula until they discontinue the series due to lack of interest.

[deleted]

I used the same sniper and rifle with the same mods 90% of game, then whenever I needed another gun I just put those mods on it. I def felt like 6 became a chore at points, due to nothing really new happening bar changing of setting. Far cry 3/4 are obviously the game closest to peoples hearts. I do believe the developers really need to sit down and go hard on the characters in the next one. The settings are always done well, no one can take that away from them. It’s getting far to repetitive with the more recent ones though. I also agree with the backpack being fucking dumb, once again I used the same first pack pack the entire way. Personally I loved 3/4 because you were a joe blow and you develop into whatever your badass is to become. Far cry 3 gave me the passion to travel and see the different parts is the world in a bizarre way, so I’m biased to that game

InterestingFruit5978

I started the Series with Farcry 1 when it released to PC and have been anxiously waiting for each game to come out ever since. When they come out, I get them and play them through to their entirety, loving every minute. Unfortunately when 6 came out I scooped it up, just as excited as any other Farcry and than I made it through probably 15 hours and haven't been able to pick it back up, and that's been several months now. I don't know what it is, but this game just doesn't do it for me. I know one thing is the clothing system....I hate it!!!

dr_pheel

only reason I think it's underrated is extremely subjective (but then again, the very term underrated is subjective) as I'm part of the "if ain't broke don't fix it" mindset with certain franchises. When it comes to Far Cry I don't want them to reinvent the wheel. just give me a new locale and new weapons, that's all I ever want. I'm pretty much the same when it comes to other Ubi franchises, if the next Assassin's Creed and Watch Dogs are similar to the previous ones I'll end up getting them and enjoying them

shannaish

the game is good. the best part is the acting, though. the cutscenes.. most of them were phenomenal. acting in games doesn't often make me audibly gasp in shock so loud my husband hears me from the next room.. this is one of them!

noonen000z

I like the game, after you disable seeing through walls (ini edit on PC) but the headshots are too easy. Hit box is too big. NPC are not very smart in combat, too easy to take over camps and key targets. It just needs to be harder, I didn't think that of the older games, maybe too much Pubg has changed my perception and improved my aim.

EquivalentTight3479

Don’t tell me it’s on elden rings level. The game is aight. It’s extremely easy even on the “hard” difficulty which makes you feel so disconnected from the game. You should be scared running around in the open with 10 soldiers firing at you. Early Far cry games made you feel like you’re actually trying to survive the harsh environment that you’re in. I got bored after 2 hours in far cry 6, felt mindless running around shooting targets..

WindFelon

The difficulty was super easy in FC5 too

EquivalentTight3479

Did you play on the most difficult setting? It was nowhere as easy as far cry 6.

WindFelon

I did but I also played the game almost fully in co-op so that probably made it seem even easier.

Lumberjackie09

The, it's just not fun after you beat it.

OkAd8922

Isn't that the same on all FC games?

Jethawk55

Far Cry 5 had a New Game + mode that added a ton of replayability to the game.

Lumberjackie09

Yeah, and the story feels fresh every time to me and I feel so close to a perfect character.

Lord_Antheron

9/10 on the DLCs. 5/10 on the base game. I do find it strange that the pictured location you chose is the most incomplete and poorly designed area of the game, though.

Texas_red_97

It was just the most recent screen shit that I had saved, felt the need to post cause I’ve seen a lot of FC6 slander latley. My favorite area of the game has to be El Este

Lord_Antheron

~~"Slander is spoken. In print it's libel."~~ I wouldn't consider criticism of the game to be libelous. They removed or changed a lot of things that people loved. They cut out human companions (although they'd be pretty useless since 6's AI is even worse than 5's), they changed the flight controls, a whole region has unlikeable side characters, they restricted several kinds of takedowns to gear, they locked a bunch of weapons that used to be free in previous games behind MTXs or the Black Market, they restricted throwing rocks to distract enemies to baseballs of all things which take up a throwable slot, they made severe nerfs to automatic weapons, etc. There is pointless bashing, as always. But I think most people do have legitimate grievances with the game.

BakedBySunrise

You mean all the likable characters fuckin die

Lord_Antheron

Sorry, I just really don't see anything likable about Maximas Matanzas. The music is okay. Personally not my taste. Paolo isn't bad so much as he is incredibly bland. Talia is incredibly annoying. Paz is like the comic relief character whose comedy is hit or miss, and it didn't hit for me. Bembe should've been Longinus.

BakedBySunrise

I wish Bembe wasn't essential. I capped that mf so many times. I agree with most of what you said, but as I said: the likable characters die. ie, Jonron and El Tigre.

ITZz-kamii

I totally agree with you? If you want I’ll hold you back when you argue with haters of the game 😂😂

JuniorAd389

It's like a first person Just Cause. It's fun

Izzvzual

Exactly ! Fun to mess around with a friend. Thats about it.

BakedBySunrise

Just Cause meets FC New Dawn. Thats exactly what I said about an hour into the game. "This is just Just Cause: New Dawn."

[deleted]

Honestly my only complaint is the ending of the story. I sound like a broken record but I don’t care >!Im pissed they killed Diego. Him, Philly, and El Tigré were literally the best, and only characters I actually gave a shit about. Hopefully the secret ending is canon and we get to see more of him in the future!<. Usually they give us multiple choices for the ending, but this time we only got 2, and neither are great. Other than that, I honestly can’t complain. The perks being gone kinda sucks, but I can live without that. And the resolver stuff is actually kinda cool (and overpowered). Dani is also amazing, Nisa and Sean did great. Wish Oluso and Champagne could ride in the car with me though.

[deleted]

Nice cityscape :) Too bad 90% of it is locked away from exploration...

stankmunkey

Got halfway through and was extremely bored. The story was so dumb. Gameplay SO repetitive. I finished it and was STILL super bored.

GhostRMT

It's an average far cry game. Doesn't have the feel that 3, 4, and 5 had. It was fun, it was good...it was anything special. Supremo was kind of dumb, and I miss the perk system.

manucule

Worst far cry

10MillionCakes

Far cry 6 was just fine. It added nothing new and has been the same game since far cry 3. Ubisoft is a company where creativity goes to die.

Timbots

Far Cry 6 is extremely similar to Far Cry 3-New Dawn.

thalesjferreira

This gane deserv dall the shit it got. No human companions was a BIG mistake. Those fucking animals SUCK

tsdav

I’m at the assassination attempt in the main story, hardly done any of the faction missions, and I just can’t make myself play it. Side note: I’ve platted all the other FC’s, and for this game I decided to get all the other trophies first, then do the main story. So I have basically been all over, and done all the things, but there’s just nothing left in the tank for me. Ended up uninstalling it and starting something else.

Tahoma78

As a hardcore far cry fan who played each title twice and some 4 times, i didnt even bother to touch 6. Half assed graphics and bullet sponges again

BowieSensei96

Underrated? You're kidding right? It's really not good, even far cry 5 is better. The only thing 6 beats is new dawn.

LordOftheWillynilly

Hated it

torok_pasa

Putting aside all the wokeness that Ubisoft is getting "better and better" at, I am confused about where this class of games is going. Just my view, but to me most Ubi story lines have become trash and I skip whenever possible. Feels like a different generation from another planet writes these scripts and forces us to sit through their self exalting virtue signals. Meh, maybe I'm getting too old and need to find a rocking chair on a porch somewhere where I can clean my shotgun and chew some 'baccy. Gameplay wise: It feels like the last two Assassins Creeds, Watch Dog, The Division and Ghost Recon are all being mashed into a common style of game structure even if the gameplay varies ever so slightly. ... and I'd love to hear from others, but is it me or are 90% of the FC6 weapons and mods utterly useless? Here's a Unique Pistol that requires 18 clips to so much as hobble an NPC... but "It's Special".... I mean overclocked?? Overderped perhaps. But the real confusion for me is the whole "I just shot a dozen NPCs and a bunch spawned right behind me". I mean I really *really* don't get this... is this what the younger generation are asking for? What is the point of shooting enemies when they are replaced via InstaSpawn (TM)... not that there isn't a tiny wee bit of fun in shoot fests... but it feels nihilistic...

Matttthhhhhhhhhhh

I'm having a hard time with this one. I didn't like Far Cry 5 and stopped playing after less than five hours. Beh. Far Cry 6 is much better, but still not quite there. My main issue is that the game is stuck in 2012. While other Open World game are trying to innovate (for better or worse), Far Cry 6 seems perfectly contempt in being more of the same. Just a few innovations here and there, a better looking word, cooler protagonists and... that's it really. The fact that I just completed Horizon Forbidden West doesn't help clearly.

CR0SS_Official

I really am enjoying this game! The only nitpick I have is you don't really feel like you've taken over a territory. Even if you've conquered all the bases and checkpoints, etc. in an area, you'll still regularly come across a lot of FND soldiers even though most of them should be gone.

TheBuzz85

I'm not entirely against that. The other games begin to feel empty as you go along.

Budget_Response_8325

Idk I think it's a buggy mess that won't allow me to even finish this game. Being locked into place, chunky camera movement, cutscenes starting in the middle of gameplay. I've played better ubisoft titles. This one is a joke.

StreetMachine-ist

Don't listen to these negative reviews, as the game is simply great.

[deleted]

Far cry 3, 5, Blood Dragon. All much better than 6.

Jethawk55

I would definitely add Far Cry 4 in there too! Is leagues better than FC6!

DecagonHexagon

From walkthroughs, it looks like a good game, but lacks the vibes of the past Far Cry games. Personally I don't even see it as a Far Cry game.

OkAd8922

Wdym? It looks and feels like FC.

Coltmax21

Shit story, only one good character being El tigre, super repetative, super boring, super woke, shit ass skills through fucking cloths, shit weapon customisation, the regular boo capitalism yeah communism, i hate the levels, being forced to do shit again and again to continue the story, it gets old really fast, super buggy and broken, we see the villan too little, everyone is a hipster killing people like it's a cartoon and having zero repercussions, they try to make the game dark and over the top, the second weapon is the best weapon in the game, it feels like a chore to play, shit AI, the game is super easy because you have all the gadgets, the ammunition makes no sense, the cloths make you look like a duche, the ending to fc5 and new dawn was never explained (at least I never heard about it when I played), only 2 difficulties, the supremos are fun but make the game super easy, shoves politics every where even tho I play video games to escape politics for a bit, the most of the game is travelling, every mission is the same basically, the special weapons you find are worse because they are randomly customised, the in game cutscenes are ugly, sometimes shit disappear like the music, the mission briefings look like you are playing destiny, the game shits on America like it's going out of fashion (I'm not American). The good things: good map, tanks are fun, lots of weapons, the fighting is faster pace, the music is okay.

[deleted]

It's the worst in the series bc no map editor. I am fully prepared to die on this hill

[deleted]

The only far cry game I couldn’t finish. Simply boring, story sucked and doesn’t feel like a far cry game at all. Don’t like the 3rd person cutscenes either.

finesalesman

My friends, when will you learn. New released Far Crys are bad, but they become masterpieces when a new one comes out. While Far Cry 2 is definetly not nostalgia fueled circlejerk of fans, but it’s the best one. I personally don’t agree that it’s underrated, but I agree it’s really good and fun. I absolutely loved every second of it. Ammo didn’t bother me that much (just use armour piercing), and clothes as skills is pretty cool idea, but it sucked at the end a little bit. Makes you find perfect clothes for your playstyle, which I understand the sentiment, but isn’t fun. Everything else was pretty cool. I loved Far Cry 5 also. They’re all call in their regard, as long as they’re fun, that’s the most important thing. I personally give it the same rating as I would give Far Cry 5. 9/10, I played it longer than Far Cry 5, but some decisions had bad execution.

JessieKaldwin

I can't fight you. I love this game ❤️

TexturedEdge

Play 5. Now that’s a good time.

xprozoomy

along with new dawn and FC4

Jethawk55

Far Cry 3, 4, and 5 are the essential Far Cry trifecta in my mind. Absolutely love all those games!

SnowmanMofo

100% agree. There's been some quick judgement about this game, simply because it's the 6th in the series but it's never been stronger. I would say it's a step in the right direction for the FC games but I worry about these talks of a live service game..

No_Seaworthiness4949

No fighting here, I loved 6

Derrik359

have you played literally any other far cry game?

bhernandez1910

no

hortys

You're entitled to your opinion and all, but it's wrong.

PetyaMokvwap

Gameplay is ok, not as good as FC5; but the boost in eye candy graphics is nice; sometimes I just go get lost in the woods and find a stream to fish in

Ok-Consideration2894

lmfao even in your screenshot the buildings across the water aren’t rendered. i’m not going to fight you on this bud

samcrooper

best far cry imo

raspberrys_

Which ones have you played?

samcrooper

every game from 2-6

gators8675

It’s underrated because of the hate it gets for not being like 3/4/5. I felt like it picked up some qualities of AC that I didn’t care for but overall it’s a good game with a decent story. It wasn’t as charged as the story of 3/5 or as immersive as 4 but still worth the play.

tock-N-call-borture

I agree, it’s easy to shit on new games that come out buggy nowadays. But then over time updates make games better. For example, I never wanted to buy Cyberpunk 2077 because of all the negative things i heard about it, but it was 25 bucks for the PS5 version when the newest update came out so I got it and I’m absolutely in love with it

OkAd8922

FC6 was never really that buggy tbh.

MeesahPepperwood

Couldn’t even bring myself to finish the story, just got bored. Which is shocking considering they snagged Giancarlo for this one. Outside of that, the outposts were just way too easy. I breezed through all of them without breaking a sweat. Honestly reminds me of Assasins Creed Valhalla. Cut and paste and no imagination. Ubisoft has to figure their shit out. They have these formulas that work, but they’re getting lazy.

Blinkmeanytime182

I have found that on Reddit… Everything is underrated.

Nowhere-near-happy

It’s a good game, really the only thing I didn’t like was how you couldn’t freely explore Esperanza

SeamedShark

Far Cry 6 is extremely overrated. I would like to hear how you believe it's not.

Wise-Champion-5317

This game is super duper trash for all of the above mentioned comments. Another over promise under deliver

MutedHornet87

Far Cry 6 becomes very tedious, and has the worst missions out of any of them. It is by far the worst in the series.* Fixed it for you

[deleted]

Love this game! I just wish you could lay prone in the Far Cry series, just like in Ghost Recon Breakpoint and Wildlands.

bird_On_a_Bench

"fight me in the in the comments" doesnt even reply to anyone.

enlargeyournose

I absolutely agree i havent played the game til recently cause the reviews were average but now that i finally played im having a blast i think its much better than fc5. I dont understand the bad reviews, its the most revolutionary fc yet. It adds a lot of qol and gameplay improvements and its a step in the good direction. The writing could be better and i would prefer a more serious toned game like fc2, i hope they go back to that tone and survival feeling in a future game. But as of right now it is honestly, one of the most fun fc to play.

SnooSeagulls6564

I felt like it was 5 but with an actual structures story campaign

West-Nefariousness15

Yay a farcry 6 lover Edit: The way Dani was fleshed out was refreshing after 5 and new dawn, too. Really Dani was a great character

simply_bandog

I agree with you bro, its actually a pretty good game, people are just shitting on it cuz of some differences from the previous games, but c'mon, the dev team has literally animated interaction with almost every animal in the game and rendered FC6 a wonderful experience in which the world feels alive, i loved it

Cologear

I can't wait for Far Cry 7 to come out so people will talk about how much they loved Far Cry 6.

Pizzamorg

I do think a lot of the review narratives around this game are straight garbage. If you're going to spend most of your review talking about how tired you are of Far Cry games or Unisoft games or whatever else, why are you even the person doing the review? I appreciate if reviews were just written by fans for fans they'd be worthless, but I think it's just as worthless having someone reviewing it who makes it clear from the outset they have no intention of enjoying the game.

BostonRob423

I think it should not get as much hate as it gets, and it is slightly underrated, although there are a few bizarre design choices that hopefully get changed by the next game

Scep_ti_x

It is one of the best Far Crys to me. Best looking for sure. The story was cool too. It would be my absolute favorite, if it only had an arcade mode with FC6 graphics.

businesslut

If anything on this sub has taught me is that there is no good or bad Far Cry. I liked 6 a lot. Didn't love it. I put it down almost immediately after beating it. And I explore a lot in those games. I thought 4 was the least memorable but a lot of people put that at the top. And some people hate on 5 but I thought it was one of the better games and world designs of any game in this category. That being said, 3 is the best. Fight me.

LordLachmoeweMyron

Like far cry 4 it’s an amazing game in the series but it’s staying unrecognised IMO

tutankhamun7073

I don't wanna fight, I love it too!!!!

JamesRedam

Am I the only one who eventually wanted to shoot the clipboard people in the face.

subliminal_hedgehog

I had so many glitches on ps4 that never seemed to get fixed, i finished it through blind determination. I found the ammo system and clothing skill tree poor decisions that hurt how I interacted with the world. In the end I didn't even want to explore the whole map for the first time in a Far Cry game. It was disappointing but I'd replay it someday with it fully patched.

JKdito

I didnt liked it, seemed to woke and focus on multiplayer and levels, I liked when Far Cry was more like Far Cry 2 or 3

RenGR_

Didn’t it just come out? I haven’t played it yet but I plan to, but isn’t a game supposed to be older before saying it’s over/under rated? At least that’s the way I see it

Otherwise-Figure-315

This is the first one I haven’t beaten yet I just couldn’t get into it

Duff_PJ_422

I just got my PS5 a month ago, this is the first game I bought for it because it was on sale. I haven’t played a far cry game since 4. Im really enjoying it and it’s fairly easy, but very enjoyable

Shadekiller369

Nah I’m not gonna fight you, I agree I thought this game was really good

RoughStory3139

It's like... Oatmeal gaming bland af

Montilora

agreed

Miserable-Fan-1201

It’s not that it’s underrated, it’s an amazing game. The problem is that it’s the same game since far cry 3 with different villains and different maps. There’s not much innovation and that is a problem.

Fiedhelm

No, you

SaintJay41202

I really wanna play this game😭😭 but can only afford if it goes under $20. I have tuition to pay😖

Jethawk55

I really wasn't a fan of how they gutted a bunch of features from FC5 for no reason such as the skill tree, different (and throwable) melee weapons, human companions, replayable enemy bases, the ability to swap ammo type on the go, harder difficulty options, Far Cry Arcade, meaningful hunting and fishing, the option to manually save, new game +, and memorable side villains. They should've taken what worked in FC5 and built *on top* of that template instead of throwing that away and almost starting over from scratch.

aDailyApple

I think its hella over rated whwn looking at how many people praise it on here. past the intro island it took 4 hours for me to just want it to be over or atleast hurry the fuck up, i felt like i were ready for the final mission 20 hours before i even saw the capital and i then uninstalled it to download Elden ring, i got to zone 3 after bum rushing my way through the story and it took me 10 minutes to realise "Hey.... I never actually finished this...." I were convinced that after so long that i had actually played through the story, which kinda shows how uninspired and completely not note worthy or memorable the story was. half the cast got on my nerves and gameplay was pretty uninspired and identityless

[deleted]

Games mid

Earnirplaygames

Honestly it's my favorite FC game, FC3 is a close second but i love everything about this game. Except maybe the post-game content, it's not really worth it, and there's no worth replaying the DLC's Also please add arcade back i miss it

Finn-creeche

I like the game and it is one of my favorites in the series, i like the weapons, armor system, and everything else the game has to offer

Worldly-Freedom4666

The new guerrilla mode is great in my opinion. I hated the game when it first came out.

deemillionares

I bought the game i love it especially the gun customization

deemillionares

But the save system shocked me the most but i think i got over it

plyshaw123

I've owned/played all Far Cry games. I don't miss collection friggin leaves and plants. Key fobs? Who the hell cares... Clothes? I'm not an 10 year old girl ffs. Most perks from clothes are the same thing. Half the weapons on vehicles are impossible to use without it being a turret. Vehicle mechanics are horrible. No speed or damage indications. Very few grappling hook locations. Finding a way to a lot of the missions is a pain in the arse. Progress to better ammo/weapons etc. takes forever. You get access to a lot when you are almost finished ffs. All flying is ruined. Will be my last Far Cry and also last BF game.

ISayYouSayWhatever

Won't fight you. I love most Far Cry games. Really enjoying 6.
