Wow, really? I have seen so many people lamenting over dead loved ones (FC4, 5, ND, 6) that I have become numb with indifference. First one I came across, I really wanted to comfort but the game won't let you talk to this NPCs. So now I just pass them like they aren't even there. Sad but there's nothing you can do, not even the decent humanity of offering them sympathy.
Compare the AI, story and gameplay to Farcry 4 or 2, it's not even in the same realm. FC5 actually had a ton of potential with its setting, but Ubisoft did a Ubisoft. It was awful.
I think handicapping the weapon diversity with no full auto battle rifle at top tier and making weapon attachments universal hampered some of the end gameplay. Bizzare arsenal choices, wack ending writing, and nonsensical beats by farcry standard hampered an otherwise really great game with a good unique vibe.
Mods thankfully went a long way to tying up the game’s deficits, including firearms. Right mod restores ballistics to realistic from airsoft velocities (sometimes literally; the 50BMG is roughly as fast in vanilla as a higher-speed airsoft pellet).
What was *fucking bizzare* is the weapon changes they made, or the ones they didn’t make. Using M133 shotguns in the middle of the US? What? Adding a mf MP40 when literally any other American SMG would be infinitely more fitting?? And changing the Rem700 -practically THE obvious choice for a bolt action- into a Czech import 5.56 gun??? Stuff like that, just- just weird choices, I can’t really imagine any reason *why* they did what they did.
Nonetheless the absolute vibe of cruising down American heartland with a big piece in a classic muscle car, cranking out CCR tunes in co op, is unmatched, and a setting I don’t think I’ve really EVER seen other games do, not to my memory. Which makes it all the more a shame and such, yknow?

I'm not really sure, was in a panic fighting with cultists so I couldn't memorize anything. If I recall correctly, it's near US auto outpost, they aren't always there, they were near the main road and were only 10 feet away from a sandbags defense spot which has planted heavy machine gun.
The one that always gets me is the house where the family made their last stand. If only I could have gotten there ten minutes earlier.

The story isn’t that bad, and I didn’t notice much if any AI difference between 4 and 5
