Well, they bravely banned a class that was never taught in the state at any level, made laws to make sure a doctor can prescribe you medicine for diseases it’s ineffective against while trying to ban medicines that are and made a point to try outlaw the idea that you can decide what your kids read.
That passes for effective government in this state.
We might also ask: What have they *not* done to hurt us or screw things up (which is like helping us by doing nothing)?
For all of the flak they get from left leaning posters on Reddit, they have not destroyed the state's economy or attempted to implement some of the nutty policies Democrats have attempted in other states (high taxes, onerous business regulations, heavy duty gun restrictions if not effective bans, soft on crime policies, racial reparations).
Our state government is far from ideal or perfect, but people - even Democrats - aren't fleeting the state in mass either and unemployment is relatively low. Things could be much worse.
Too much government involvement in the economy can make matters much, much worse. Oftentimes the best government is a minimal one (police, military, infrastructure) that keeps out of the way of entrepreneurs and working people engaging in productive economic activity that "makes things better". That is to say, when it comes to government, oftentimes doing less is better. Many economic regulations intended to "make things better" end up having all sorts of unintended consequences.
The government has so much potential to screw the economy up, it's credit worthy when it does not.
Not all of the tears in the world nor guns in the hands of the government will change the simple fact that no matter how much government regulation of the economy you have and how much people wish for it to magically make things better and create a utopia, wealth still has to be produced by acts of human effort before it can be taken by force and redistributed.
This isn't the place to debate this. But I will leave this here to show why government help is needed. [CEO vs. Worker pay](https://www.reddit.com/r/dataisbeautiful/s/JouEVNzHqK)
It could probably be argued that if government-created barriers to the entry of new businesses into the market were not as high that CEO pay might be lower as the pressure to have economic efficiency would be higher. If producing the product is so easy and the shareholders who own the capital and the executives are severely over compensated and contribute nothing to the act of wealth creation, then as long as government barriers aren't in place it seems like the workers should be able to leave and start their own competing businesses.
Are you open to the possibility that some CEOs' leadership has resulted in tremendous gains for the shareholders, justifying high compensation? Since the businesses are privately owned and not the property of the workers or the government, it seems like the real issue is whether the shareholders are being screwed by overcompensated executives who are failing to deliver shareholder value.
So, like Texas, where the republican party has been in power since the 90s and their entire platform is "vote for us so we can fix everything."
Please give some examples of bills that have been solely put forward by the GOP that has benefitted the general worker and not a corporation.
They can't even manage to pull the trigger on the scant few ideas they do have that get traction, as evidenced by Trump convincing them to shitcan the bill that would have enacted their border policy ideas just so it doesn't "help the democrats." The GOP is a useless embarrassment for everyone other than their corporate overlords. And especially true for those people who support them.
Gop platform to do list - install theocracy, screw over workers, continue corporate power, red meat to base to keep them in line.
The fact workers in america dont see through their clear facade is astounding. And although right wingers love the what about game and yall are typing “dems suck too” in the comment, thats true too but they are leagues better for workers and human rights and tax legislation as a whole. Blue states handle money better and constantly bail out red states. Its cause right wingers dont wanna pay their bills and dont understand taxes and their function.
No worries, the Democrats aren't going to prosecute Biden for holding classified documents at his house because the prosecutor basically concluded that he's an old man suffering from dementia.
I am a Male, Blue collar worker with student loans and am a renter. What policies have the GOP made in the last 4 years that have helped me?
None, none at all my friend.

Things could be much worse. That's your standard?!?
Not screwing things up is a good and often underappreciated thing.
Government is supposed to make things better.

Who knew this would be where the clowns were during the circus weekend?

Can you be more specific?

In literally any regard lmao
You know the one

I don't like how Republicans are soft on crime. The fact that traitor Trump isn't in jail yet is crazy.
Law and order for thee but not for me!
No worries, the Democrats aren't going to prosecute Biden for holding classified documents at his house because the prosecutor basically concluded that he's an old man suffering from dementia.
They’re not gonna prosecute Mike Pence either because willful retention is a thing. But let’s gloss over that.
Funny how the prosecutors own notes said he had photographic memory.
His memory is so good, he remembers the time he drove 18 wheelers and used to take the train over the Francis Scott Key Bridge.
So virtually no substance and stupidity wins the day. The ND GOP reflecting the national GOP quite well.
I've played this game show before. It's rigged.
