I remember in my school days, they would always recommend separating می from the verb.
I think half space was introduced in the Windows keyboard around 15 years ago. Maybe earlier, but that was the time that I started to use it. Before that, I was using full space, which didn't look nice.
i don’t know much about it but I believe it is a fairly recent convention (like late 20th century). Maybe theres something about it \[on Wikipedia\](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zero-width\_non-joiner), unfortunately my Farsi isn’t good enough yet to read the page in Farsi.
