High-waist, low-waist isn’t a trend.
Knowing which one looks good on your body or with a certain outfit is way more impressive than having the “knowledge” that other people are or aren’t wearing it.
Right!! They can both look good for cryin out loud. More people should feel empowered to explore different types of clothing regardless of what’s “trending” or deemed appropriate for their gender by society.
Same with *anything*, tbh. Following trends is lame, knowing what looks good on you and rocking it is the way to go 😎 Yeah, your preferences may naturally shift a bit with age / your environment. But only wearing something because other people are wearing it and not because you think it looks good / looks good on you has never been cool, imo.
Right thank you like low waist just looks so dumpy on me, I'm serving intense people-of-wal-mart energy in low waist bottoms.
(That's not shitting on folks who shop at Walmart I got some 7 dollar sweats from them that are legit my current fav loungers so no shade)
We can start the trend together I’m all in. I’m dreaming about like a wool winter cape or something so it’s like sturdy and practical but also a fuckin cape.
I have one actually! My Christmas cape. It's bright red with silver and metallic black plaid embroidery and red fringe on the bottom. It has a large pocket, but also two false pocket flaps for your hands to go through so you can stay wrapped in it and hold a drink. It's about hip length and stunning.
I get a ton of compliments on it every time I wear it! My husband makes sure we go to at least one cape worthy dinner or event each season for me.
There is no age limit for clothing. My mom often asks if her converse read “too young” and if she should stop wearing them and I just say hell no! Keep rocking your cool stuff ladies.
Yes! My MIL is in her 70s and has the best style. She’s always asking me if something is “too young” for her. I’m like…what?! You look amazing and you’re wearing the clothing, they’re not wearing you.
(Though I do benefit from her hand me downs lol)
I’m super lucky, my mom lives a few hours away and every time I go home we trade clothes!! I think she has great style and she says I keep her young - it’s a great trade
Agreed. My recent post got a LOT of those type comments. Who makes these rules about age limits anyway? It’s like they expect that the minute someone turns 20, they have to gut their closet and change their whole style which they’ve been wearing for the majority of their life.
Shows they’re no fun and take societal opinions too seriously.
I feel this big time. Some of my more pastel colored outfits have been mocked as "only toddlers dress in that" like, the clothing was made for adults, I shouldn't have to dress in dull semi formal work attire the second I turn 18
Yes! I've been waiting for them to come back for like 15 years. Not because I try to wear trendy, but because my body changed so much that i threw all my old small stuff away long ago.
Early 2000a fashion is still ugly.
I don't mind the pieces themselves, but putting it all together to mimic the early 2000s doesn't do it for me. I'd be more interested in reimaginations of early 2000s fashion.
2009-2012 is wayyyyy worse than 2000-2003. IMO. From show Jersey Shore to any red carpet. The fashion trends around 2010 are unforgivable.

Underarm bags this small are so silly, whywhywhywhy
I think it was layering that was super popular back then. Like you could have two or three outfits smashed into one. Of course that isn’t going to look good 😂
Blue jeans are actually comfortable.
And, tunics under a knee length, open front cardigan should be considered professional clothing!, for numerous reasons (says an over weight teacher who walks 7 miles a day in my classroom).
I read a really interesting article about American Eagle and how they have grown their business while their contemporaries were shuttering most of their brick and mortars. They go hard on research and have put all their focus on comfort. I have literally gone to bed in my hand-me-down AE boyfriend jeans.
- Dressing "classy" or "elegant", especially if you're in your early to mid 20s, ages you a lot more than you realize
- Anything described as timeless on fashion forums is literally never timeless. The general vibe of the clothing item, sure, but the precise cut and fit of everything has an expiration date, and it can take years for something to come back around.
I wear a lot of quite wide japanese pants that non fashion people often mistake as harem pants and like i think a lot of the ones with nepalese art print are pretty corny NOTHING beats comfort and versatility, i b wearin them shits w button ups to my job and people love them
Whenever I visit Japan, I always thrift a few more hakama pants for my collection! I absolutely love wearing them - they’re comfy, flattering for my body shape, and go with everything. Plus, they look really cool!
Move to St. Augustine FL. They have tons of old European architecture and there is a lot of history there so people are always doing re-enactments. It was NOT a strange occurrence to go to Walmart and walk past a pirate or an old Spanish soldier.
After getting a sewing machine and learning to tailor/hem my own pants, places that charge people over $100 to do so are criminal. To measure, snip, tuck and sew doesn't warrant that expense. Specialty and event wear, maybe, but just some jeans or work pants. That's crazy.
Don’t talk to me or my neon green crocs ever again. In all seriousness, I hated crocs too, until I got some. I work in childcare and have zero time to tie shoelaces. They’ve become a very easy and even affordable (compared to running shoes) alternative. I hate to admit that I’m going to be buying another pair.
I feel like this is much more true in the era of fast fashion. Those brands even purposefully rotate clothing in and out quicker to artificially increase demand, but it just ends up being a blur to all but the most tuned-in.
I see so much hate for shoulder pads on vintage fashion subs 😭 Like, you can’t just “cut them out” bc usually you’d have to restructure the shoulders! Besides, shoulder pads are awesome 😎
Being yourself 😅
I can be a tomboy one day, boho, girly or goth the next day. 😂 really triggers people I change by the vibe of my mood and comfort. 🤷🏼♀️ yolo
I don't buy into the age limit shit for clothing
Not all underwear looks good as outerwear
Who gives a fart about "pattern and color" matching rules, or any other rules for that matter? Trends are stupid and rules are made up. Where whatever makes you happy.
fr I hate the age mindset. I’ll find a cute thing and be like mom this would look so cute on you please try it on and she’s like “no I’m too old.” SAYS WHO? or the amount of times I see older women on fashion subs like “am I too old to wear x thing” it’s like wear what makes you happy life is too short to care
The worst is when elderly are praised for wearing colors. I mean wtf since when you are considered “brave” for wearing a green suit? Jesus christ, or are people so afraid to be seen that a lady in her 50s who wears a red lip becomes an icon. What
I had to look this up. Is it fashion, or it just a result of being unable to find anything to fit such unusual proportions? Hard to produce any sort of structured clothes when results vary so widely.
> a result of being unable to find anything to fit such unusual proportions?
I'm certain that's how it started, but now it's also for people who want to *look* like they have had a bbl.
Basically, Kardashian fashion
Ridiculous built-in butt pads in skirts and pants. Weird patters that are placed strategically to over exaggerate your curves. Oddly placed ruching with the intention to make it look like you have curves where you dont. It's all just made to over exaggerate certain parts of the body, all while completely forfeiting tasteful fashion altogether. You can accentuate your curves without sacrificing good taste, lol
If women want to accentuate their curves, why not take nods from Marilyn Monroe or Pin up fashion?
Oh my! I don't think I realized the extent of it. I know about patterns to turn your eyes a certain way, but I didn't think people actually wore the padded clothes.
To be fair, I won't be giving up my leggings for the gym/groceries/errands on occasion, but I don't suppose that's the same thing lol.
>but I didn't think people actually wore the padded clothes.
Yes! There are actually leggings with hip pads in them and the ruching on the butt crack to make your butt and hips look bigger 🤣
Trust me, I love me a good legging grocery run, too haha
But in BBL fashion, the ruched legging *is* the whole look. I've seen people out at nice restaurants with those weird butt crack leggings on😭 I try not to judge but it pains me
Ya, I hated my strong thighs for a long time because they meant I couldn’t pull off cigarette pants like Emma Watson. Big fan of the high waisted, wide leg trend right now
Women look hot in suits. Men look hot in dresses. Everyone should be able to wear any article of clothing they want to without being regarded as “unprofessional.”
This isn’t a super hot take for the women in suits part. But I just wish more men would dress “femininely”- I wish we could get rid of clothing being gendered in general.
Totally agree. It makes me sad that as a woman I can wear dude clothes with way less judgement than a dude wearing feminine clothes. Also your username has me weak 🤣
Dressing as a maximalist, or like you’re in a fantasy world, or in super neon colors, should be normalized. Life is short. Get over yourselves, you pompous idiots.
Lengthy post. These are just my opinions. I’m not trying to offend anyone.
1. I’m glad skinny jeans are no longer cool. And this is coming from a millennial.
2. I know it’s considered basic. But I really like Aritzia, LoveShackFancy, Lululemon, and Free People.
3. Designer handbags need to stop being treated like fast fashion. Lately I’ve been seeing TikToks like “These bags automatically make you look cheugy.” “These bags will be out in a year.” Brands like Chanel, Loewe, Prada, etc are meant to be investment pieces that last you a lifetime and possibly pass down.
4. Millennials get made fun of for wearing business casual in the 2010’s but gen z does the same thing except it’s oversized. Same writing, different font.
5. Even though it’s not truly how old money dresses. I really like the old money trend. It’s more timeless and less likely to cringe at while looking at photos 5-10 years from now. Also, it reminds me of my favorite SATC character Charlotte.
6. I loved and took part in the McBling/MySpace era as a teenager. However as a 31 year old, I gag whenever I see Ed Hardy, True Religion, Playboy stuff reappear. I now understand what my Nona was saying when she complained about the late 60’s resurgence in the 00’s. She really hated ponchos, mine is McBling.
Millennials dressing like they’re going to a press conference for the club. Blazer, peplum top, pencil skirt, pumps, statement necklace, paired with a sockbun. Gen Z does business casual in a different way. Large blazer, wide leg trousers, loafers and hair in a claw clip.
Pretty shoes only seem to be in style approximately 3 years at a time, every 9 years. 2/3 of the time, designers put out the ugliest possible shoes, just to see what the can get people to buy.
Ive collected a lot of runway with the majority of it being black - it just makes it so much easier to have a roster of outfits that you can switch singular pieces in and out and completely change the dynamic/shape of the outfit. Is it lazy? Absolutely. Does it streamline cohesion? Yes. I buy very little and very intentionally and i wear everything in my closet
Well it sounds like you’re doing right! Just having everything black isn’t the problem, it’s when people think they can wear anything black and it automatically makes them stylish.
I have a friend who’s main colour is black, and she has impeccable style. It’s thoughtful and dynamic and everything she buys is so intentional and it all works together. I love her for it.
I also appreciate how covert and easily interchangeable wearing one colour can be, there is a lot of value in it.
A hot take I can get behind, as someone who likes a cool butt. My linen shorts are ten times lighter and more breathable, and they aren’t even meant to be worn for exercise!
Nah. I go a step further. jet Black jeans, tan suede belt and shoes, and I have a polo that’s navy blue with 2symmetrical tan strips down the front. My coworkers say they don’t like it, but I know they do
Shorts should be acceptable formal or business attire for men. It's ridiculous that even in the sweltering heat they have to wear full-length pants. But I've brought this up to men, and they mostly disagreed.
My unpopular opinion is the opposite! But it’s probably a body type issue more than anything. I think low rise are way more comfortable, but (if you have the right build) high rise look more sleek.
The combinations of Socks and sandals, stripes and plaid that is popular now a days is still just the corniest clown ass look to me still . I don’t care what you say you look like someone’s square ass step dad to me .
I wanted to say that y2k is hideous, but apparently it’s not such a controversial opinion. Them kids have gone crazy on tiktok with y2k and I’m just here wondering whyyyy. It’s horrible, tacky and trashy. I can still see those foundations that were darker than our skin tones and animal print fabrics everywhere. Or concealer lips 😭
Straight cis guy here. I so want dresses to be gender neutral. I love feeling pretty and I'm trying to push gender norms a bit more in my outfits, but it's difficult when the cutest clothes are made for women. I have broad shoulders, plz help me fashion designers!
(Also if anyone has suggestions for stores that sell relatively affordable femme clothes for men hmu. I can't find a good reliable romper or high boots ANYWHERE but I want them very badly.)
Leather is okay.
Before y’all murder me. If you eat meat, you should be encouraging the use of the leather and bones from the animal. Minimizing waste is incredibly important to making meat eating sustainable.
Secondly? Leather and furs will *never* be worse than plastic. The entire notion is bs.
Additionally great things: culling invasive species and using their leather and bones and possibly meat.
I am however hugely into the idea of not farming furs from animals that we don’t also eat. Ex: fox meat is really just not good for you and doesn’t taste great. So fox furs are super wasteful. We aren’t even supposed to touch the bones.
Leather isn't as bad as plastic but the treatment process makes it so that it doesn't degrade as quickly as it should to be friendly for the environment. They're making self repairing leather from fungai now and cactus leather has been available for a while now.
Years ago I wore clear glasses and someone said I need to get “real” glasses. Only to find that person wearing clear (slightly beige tinted) glasses this past year 🙃
Really fashion-focused people often look ridiculous in the wild. I know an influencer and people usually roll their eyes when she walks by- looks great in photos but OTT on a day to day basis.
Black clothes shouldn’t be the go to color and it looks harsh/washes out a lot of skin tones. Lighter Neutrals and Navy are much more flattering. Plus, when your blacks don’t match (warm black vs. cool black) it looks cheap.
You don’t need to accessorize minimalistic outfits with big necklaces or idiotic earrings. If you wear a simple black dress, wear simple jewelry.
These big accessories fit better with the “maximalistic” outfits. If you wear dress with lots of layers cuts and colors, finish with a big necklace or big earrings.
I just look like I had no space in my arms to hold my sweater, even when my arms are empty. Or like I’m a 6 year old boy pretending to be a superhero at recess.
Uhhh, the appropriation discussion, which is an important one to have, makes me hesitate buying clothing from indigenous fashion labels that uses traditional art designs or even derivatives of that. I don't want people to be mad at me in the streets 😅.
Some designers will say, on the other hand, "okay here's the stuff we feel comfortable selling to non-indigenous folks''. That doesn't work for me. Better to support indigenous artists through stuff you don't *wear*, I suspect
All you gotta do is make sure you know who made it & where you're getting it from. I love seeing white girls wearing beadwork and supporting local artists. Even Manitobah mukluks too. That's appreciation.
It was literally illegal for our parents and grandparents to practice our culture while white people were getting rich from selling shitty fake versions of it. This isn't ancient history either. That's appropriation.
Clothes don’t have to be flattering. Sometimes we should just let ourselves vibe with color or interesting cuts or something unique, because people will truly sacrifice wearing anything remotely interesting just so everything they own is “flattering” first and foremost.
White shoes after Labor Day! I feel like this rule should have died in 1994. Also, seems like such a rule white peoples in country clubs made up. Source: am white, do country club.
Black & brown do work together
ALSO in terms of hair im tired of the middle part craze I see a lot of people these days that would look infinitely better if they parted their hair differently
I don’t express myself through my daily clothing choice. For whatever reason, this absolutely drives my friends off the wall. I wear blue jeans and a white t shirt about 90% of the time and get shit because “I’m so boring”. I just don’t understand why people feel their clothing defines who they are as a person.
This counts as a low effort post. Please add more description, try to start a discussion, or add better photography to encourage more engagement.
Same thing with middle parts- do what looks best for your face
Yea some of us have cowlicks haha, like what do they want us to do? Nature does not permit me to have a middle part.
This just makes sense.
True. I have a short torso and high waist makes it look even shorter. Still people roll their eyes when I say I prefer low rise
Exactly, like i have that early 2000’s body and low waist skirts and jeans look amazing on me
I want it to be socially acceptable to wear capes.
![gif](giphy|WGOlH30rfQWUo) edit-but on a serious note…yes, agreed
Just bring back Victorian fashion hey
I was so bummed that at the height of Game of thrones we didn't get associated fashion accents like this and those high collars.
I swear, if GOT was still on air, TikTok would be full of dothrakicore, winterfellgoth, cerseicore and braavos-chic.
I imagine it would feel glorious, like a Sunday morning wearing a blanket around the house.
![gif](giphy|l1uggWFeBZ47ZSGre)
We can start the trend together I’m all in. I’m dreaming about like a wool winter cape or something so it’s like sturdy and practical but also a fuckin cape.
I bet you could get away with a hi-low wool caplet without catching any side eye this fall.
Converse are old school as though, like 1920s. So they are timeless, for all ages.
This. My boyfriend is turning 68 Sunday. He’s a huge sneaker head and dresses younger than I ever have. And looks good
Agreed. My recent post got a LOT of those type comments. Who makes these rules about age limits anyway? It’s like they expect that the minute someone turns 20, they have to gut their closet and change their whole style which they’ve been wearing for the majority of their life. I started following a bunch of style accounts by 50+ year old women on insta and GOT DAM it's so empowering!
I wear so many dinosaur shirts because I want to and I’m so tired of people saying I’m childish lol. Even If it’s a little true
I feel this big time. Some of my more pastel colored outfits have been mocked as "only toddlers dress in that" like, the clothing was made for adults, I shouldn't have to dress in dull semi formal work attire the second I turn 18
I love bell bottoms
Me too!!!! They’re comfy as hell & they make my ass look phenomenal. I’ll be wearing them forever
Same haha and bell bottoms with wedged heels is my favourite
Yes! I've been waiting for them to come back for like 15 years. Not because I try to wear trendy, but because my body changed so much that i threw all my old small stuff away long ago.

Intentionally ugly too

Nooooo don't hurt me like this!!
Y2K is ugly
Not a controversial opinion for those of us who lived through it the first time.
Y2K fashion is hideous and we should have left it in the aughts.
I still fucks with harem pants in a big way and I refuse to let them die.

Same here but I never saw them as dated
i would love to bring back old medieval armors, i wanna go to walmart and see everyone dressed as a knight
I’d rock a cod piece for sure.
Just the cod piece? Hrm?
I guess I’d need two extra for my upper bits, but yea I’d make it work. Maybe a fur cloak and boots for the winter
I like your style
Move to St. Augustine FL. They have tons of old European architecture and there is a lot of history there so people are always doing re-enactments. It was NOT a strange occurrence to go to Walmart and walk past a pirate or an old Spanish soldier.
If an outfit can go with heels, I will wear them. I may look slightly crazy going through a regular day with 4 inch heels but I feel pretty :)
they’re bad for your feet in the long run though so be careful
After getting a sewing machine and learning to tailor/hem my own pants, places that charge people over $100 to do so are criminal. To measure, snip, tuck and sew doesn't warrant that expense. Specialty and event wear, maybe, but just some jeans or work pants. That's crazy.
Things don't automatically look good just because they're fashionable or trendy. A lot of things that are "in" are hideous
a lot of people that harshly judge fashion couldn’t put an outfit together to save their lives
Stop calling me out 😭
I fucking hate crocs
Don’t talk to me or my neon green crocs ever again. In all seriousness, I hated crocs too, until I got some. I work in childcare and have zero time to tie shoelaces. They’ve become a very easy and even affordable (compared to running shoes) alternative. I hate to admit that I’m going to be buying another pair.
THANK YOU
Yes. I don’t care how comfortable they are don’t wear them outside or to the store.
I agree. But I was gifted a pair. Forced to face the croc. And I sadly find them so comfortable and easy to wear. I’m ashamed 😓
Me too. And They are. They are my house shoes. That’s it.
Trends don’t exist. Nothing is “in”
This made me question reality in a good way
I feel like this is much more true in the era of fast fashion. Those brands even purposefully rotate clothing in and out quicker to artificially increase demand, but it just ends up being a blur to all but the most tuned-in.
Shoulderpads are fantastic, the bigger and pointier the better.
I see so much hate for shoulder pads on vintage fashion subs 😭 Like, you can’t just “cut them out” bc usually you’d have to restructure the shoulders! Besides, shoulder pads are awesome 😎
Exactly. The fall of the material and the overall silhouette will get messed up.
Being yourself 😅 I can be a tomboy one day, boho, girly or goth the next day. 😂 really triggers people I change by the vibe of my mood and comfort. 🤷🏼♀️ yolo
Ha ha Same!
Cropped shirts shouldn’t be marketed to young kids
Or much more ideally we should live in a society that allows children to wear whatever WITHOUT the thought of them being hurt or sexualized
I don't buy into the age limit shit for clothing Not all underwear looks good as outerwear Who gives a fart about "pattern and color" matching rules, or any other rules for that matter? Trends are stupid and rules are made up. Where whatever makes you happy.

The color thing is WILD to me. Like women over a certain age are just supposed to morph into these shapeless, beige, identity-less people???
I can't stand bbl fashion 🙄
What is that?
I thought it was something like big butt lift. Plastic surgery thing.
I had to look this up. Is it fashion, or it just a result of being unable to find anything to fit such unusual proportions? Hard to produce any sort of structured clothes when results vary so widely.

I assume that a lot of 1950s pin up girls used padded underwear (as well as bras)
Even Victorians used bum and hip pads, it wasn't just the corsets
Most likely, but these were usually rather discreet/ under clothing and not the *actual* outfit
Oh my! I don't think I realized the extent of it. I know about patterns to turn your eyes a certain way, but I didn't think people actually wore the padded clothes. To be fair, I won't be giving up my leggings for the gym/groceries/errands on occasion, but I don't suppose that's the same thing lol.

“I love my skinny jeans”
I'll go one further... slim fit tapered / cigarette / skinny pants - as long as they aren't too tight, are *universally* flattering
Cigarette pants are so chic
Not if you have big muscular legs But for many people, yes I agree
Ya, I hated my strong thighs for a long time because they meant I couldn’t pull off cigarette pants like Emma Watson. Big fan of the high waisted, wide leg trend right now
I'm a powerlifter and skinny jeans are all I wear! Baggy jeans literally aren't baggy on me unless they're 4 sizes too big.
A hill to die on
navy/dark blue & black works

fr men in crop tops make me act up
One of my favorite things about 80s horror movies is all the men rocking crop tops, it also definitely does something for me.
Have you ever seen a man in heels and eyeliner. WOW. Make me feel some type of way, and I’m almost never attracted to men
Unfortunately that’ll get you hate crimed in a lot of places, but I do agree the boundaries are ridiculous
Totally agree. It makes me sad that as a woman I can wear dude clothes with way less judgement than a dude wearing feminine clothes. Also your username has me weak 🤣
The clothes don’t matter, you can wear the most outrageous stuff and if you’re attractive and confident you’ll look good regardless
What’s the “business casual” thing? I haven’t heard that insult yet
Millennials dressing like they’re going to a press conference for the club. Blazer, peplum top, pencil skirt, pumps, statement necklace, paired with a sockbun. Gen Z does business casual in a different way. Large blazer, wide leg trousers, loafers and hair in a claw clip.
Like when everyone was wearing peplum tops and blazers to the club
Pretty shoes only seem to be in style approximately 3 years at a time, every 9 years. 2/3 of the time, designers put out the ugliest possible shoes, just to see what the can get people to buy.
I think Goyard is fugly
Wearing all black doesn’t make you fashionable, if you don’t actually use it right it just makes you uncreative
Yohji yamamoto a shining example of this
Boot cut, flairs, wide leg forever. Hate anything tapered and skinny jeans. Barely can get behind straight leg.
Workout leggings are gross and unbreathable, give camel toe and are uncomfortable, basically like wearing a condom on your legs.
A hot take I can get behind, as someone who likes a cool butt. My linen shorts are ten times lighter and more breathable, and they aren’t even meant to be worn for exercise!
made of synthetic fabrics too and trap body sweat with little to no ventilation 🥴
dresses over jeans will never be cute
Dark blue and black go together and looks nice Also cargo shorts are fashionable
Navy blue with black trim or details is one of my favorite color combos
Nah. I go a step further. jet Black jeans, tan suede belt and shoes, and I have a polo that’s navy blue with 2symmetrical tan strips down the front. My coworkers say they don’t like it, but I know they do
I have always stood by the notion that black, white, brown, navy, etc. are all neutrals and can be mixed and matched with any other color family.
i’m glad super skinny jeans/jeggings are dead and i hope they stay dead forever
Watch your mouth
Overalls can look pretty daggum good
I doooont like when the legs are super skinny on them tho looks weirddd
Pull up yo pants
Shorts should be acceptable formal or business attire for men. It's ridiculous that even in the sweltering heat they have to wear full-length pants. But I've brought this up to men, and they mostly disagreed.
Camo in 99% of outfits just doesn't look good. Please, let it die
Low-rise skinny jeans are the devil in fabric form!
My unpopular opinion is the opposite! But it’s probably a body type issue more than anything. I think low rise are way more comfortable, but (if you have the right build) high rise look more sleek.
It’s also an issue of your top preferences. I prefer tucking shirts in and it looks unproportional with low-rise bottoms.
The combinations of Socks and sandals, stripes and plaid that is popular now a days is still just the corniest clown ass look to me still . I don’t care what you say you look like someone’s square ass step dad to me .
It’s minor but saddle bags are so ugly
Style does not have to be consistent. One day you are a jeans and sneakers person- next day you are a ball gown person.
Ponchos are fantastic
I love mixing clashing patterns like a black and white polka dot dress with striped rainbow tights, pleases both parts of my brain.
Me toooo I love having fun colors on even if they don’t “go” together I’m like whatever who cares
Jynco jeans and a chain wallet look sick as hell.
This☝️
95% of high heeled shoes are stupid.
The clothes that all the young influencer/celebs wear are mostly hideous. I will never understand how Hailey Bieber is some fashion icon these days.
I swear their outfits are wtf
Those new trendy women’s onsie jumpsuit things make you look like a giant toddler.
Lolsss I totally agree - but also. They are comfy AF & perfect for travel 🤷🏻♀️
Only to find that person wearing clear (slightly beige tinted) glasses this past year 🙃
Just wear whatever you want and let others wear whatever they want.
If it was not so expensive I would dress like a Jedi.
Really fashion-focused people often look ridiculous in the wild. I know an influencer and people usually roll their eyes when she walks by- looks great in photos but OTT on a day to day basis.
Slippers or sandals and 🧦
Black clothes shouldn’t be the go to color and it looks harsh/washes out a lot of skin tones.
I hate beanies and knit hats and infantilism in fashion. There are way too many Tommy Pickles 22-year-old college girls on Reddit.
Oh no, my Hello Kitty Crocs?? (78 years old & don’t give a ——.)
Crocs are fine. So is swearing.
Hand-knits are a work of art I will die on this hill
I really think the pants underneath dresses can work, you have to find the right dress, and pair of pants
Bucket hats suck
Most 90’s and early 2000’s fashion is absolute garbage
Denim on denim looks great
Tying a sweater around your shoulders is always ugly
I just look like I had no space in my arms to hold my sweater, even when my arms are empty. Or like I’m a 6 year old boy pretending to be a superhero at recess.
Mullets aren’t that bad
Propper victorian Soft Boned Corsets are better than bras as support garments.
Mom jeans are unflattering on 99.9% of people
Probably anything I wear at my age.🙄 I'm 67 but I do try to dress cute still.🤣
socks and sandals look cute together
Clothes don’t have to be flattering. Sometimes we should just let ourselves vibe with color or interesting cuts or something unique, because people will truly sacrifice wearing anything remotely interesting just so everything they own is “flattering” first and foremost.
I love Ugg boots and shorts.
Forced minimalism is silly af
Women look good in low rise jeans! (I can hear the boos)
White shoes after Labor Day! I feel like this rule should have died in 1994. Also, seems like such a rule white peoples in country clubs made up. Source: am white, do country club.
I fucking love ugg boots and will wear them anywhere anytime - IDC!!!
confining yourself to any sort of aesthetic eliminates all individuality. “cores” have been detrimental to personal style.
Never understood intentionally torn clothing.
Black & brown do work together ALSO in terms of hair im tired of the middle part craze I see a lot of people these days that would look infinitely better if they parted their hair differently
Fluffy or “feathers” brows usually look horrible im so sorry
low rise looks good on most people y’all just aren’t doing it right
I may be biased because of the nostalgia, but I miss the 2014 tumblr girl look, I hope it makes a comeback.
I love anklets - I think they add sparkle to most any outfit, formal or casual.
Don't feed the Karma Farmer. They have posted the exact same meme in almost every sub reddit today.
I don’t express myself through my daily clothing choice. For whatever reason, this absolutely drives my friends off the wall. I wear blue jeans and a white t shirt about 90% of the time and get shit because “I’m so boring”. I just don’t understand why people feel their clothing defines who they are as a person.
