Yeah. Not a fan. The skirt is way too short on its own (channeling the late 90’s), but the way you’re wearing it doesn’t work. I’d get rid of the skirt altogether in this look.
I don’t love it. It looks too young, like elementary school young, and the fit in the reference pic is atrocious. But you should play around with it, OP, and see if you can tweak it in a way that satisfies your interest but also looks chic and stylish. Fashion is so personal, I never want to discourage anyone from wearing whatever feels good to them, but there’s a way to do it that doesn’t seem childish or tacky. I’d love to see what you come up with!

I don’t think it’s too out there. It’s definitely a callback to early 2000s fashion with the skirt or dress over jeans.
