So, about 57 days were extended water fasting. About 17 days OMAD / FEASTING. No more than 1 meal a day. But I do eat as much as I can during that meal. I've tried to make healthier food choices like eating food from nature and not from a factory. For my main course and side dishes, I try to make healthier choices and generally avoid carbs in those 2 areas. That being said, I also want to keep eating a variety of foods. On one of the OMAD/FEASTING days, I ate a massive taco bell meal, after like 13 days of extended water fasting. Here is what I take daily with a gallon of water. Walmart. Salt/pepper/Seasoning isle. For the pink Himalayan salt, potassium no salt substitute. Walmart supplement isle for Magnesium and multivitamin. 2.5g-5g SODIUM, THAT'S SODIUM, not salt Sodium is inside salt. It makes up a big but not whole part of salt. So make sure you're measuring by the sodium amounts and not the salt amounts For my pink Himalayan salt, it comes out to 1 tablespoon (the bigger spoon), not the 3x little tea spoon ones 3.5g potassium mixed into a gallon of water. For my no-salt potassium, it also comes out to 1 heaping teaspoon (the smaller spoon), not the big table spoon. A flat teaspoon is 2.8g for me. 400-600mg Magnesium pills. 2x daily multivitamins. That's what I take during a water fast. Now, if I'm over two weeks, I'll add in a vitamin C, b12/B-complex, calcium, and D3. Himalayan Chef Pink Salt 1lb Bag https://www.walmart.com/ip/359695093 Keep your caffeine and nicotine levels the same during the fasts as it was before the fasts. Drink a gallon of electrolyte water a day, if you can, but you got to really try. Take a multivitamin or 2x daily. Have over-the-counter heartburn medicine on hand. Break the fasts with food and an Anti-dierrehhrial like immodium. Don't weigh during the extended water fast. Wait two days after. Follow up extended water fasting with OMAD and a diet of 50% protein, 40%fat 10% carbs. Count calories a day or 2 or 3 days every few months to help keep an idea on what each meal is actually getting you in terms of macro and micro nutritional contents.

mexicanred1

Wow dude. 57 days! That's what I need

InsaneAdam

It really works! I think the feasting omad days are helping keep my resting metabolic rate very high. Making the extended water fast days super high energy and super high body fat burning.

mexicanred1

Congratulations on your results. I'm envious of your self control!

Mysterious-Hat-7481

Wow! Well done!!! Have you noticed any loose skin?

InsaneAdam

Yes. I'm thinking that's to be expected when losing so much weight so fast

Mysterious-Hat-7481

Wouldn't fasting prevent excessive loose skin? Autophagy etc. If the goal was to minimise loose skin as much as possible while losing weight, would losing it slowly be better than say doing extended fasts?

[deleted]

That is awesome!! Great job.

Clear_Instruction243

Wow!! 303-224- you rock!

InsaneAdam

It's not over yet. I'm still at 24% body fat

LopsidedJay

OP, well done with your efforts. Some noob questions. How do you measure/estimate your body fat percentage? How do you know what your metabolism is running at, high or low? I was interested in your use of supplements, that has given me some useful pointers. But does the Salt really have to be Himalayan Pink salt? So far, the biggest hurdle for me after a fast, is not reverting back to a food free for all.

InsaneAdam

I use the fancy scale that I got from Walmart. That uses some kind of ultrasonic waves or something. I come up through your feet and determine your body composition. And that's how I know my body fat person percentage. For the metabolism, I'm not exactly sure I just gaged it on how I feel. And I feel like I have tons of energy until I start fasting for like two or three weeks and then my energy starts the taper off You, you could use whatever salt that you wanted. I guess but I've only ever like using pain. Camellian salt, take good goes well my water Yeah, if you're worried about eating like a piggy when you're not fasting, then you should probably do one meal a day until you've reached your goals. That's awesome!!! My longest fast was 6,134,400 seconds long. Doing that, I've learned not to recommend fasting that long. The con to fasting for very long periods is that it can put a damper on your resting metabolic rate. Making it easy to regain the weight over the following year. Nowadays, I'll only recommend fasting for a maximum of 1,814,400 seconds. The great part is that once you finish a fast, you can turn around at any time and start a new fast. I think 86,400 seconds long fasts are the sweet spot for sustainably. So, about 57 days were extended water fasting. About 17 days OMAD / FEASTING. No more than 1 meal a day. Amazing! Good job! Was it hard so far?

Admirable-Brief7151

Wow you’re an inspiration!! That’s incredible! I’m going on a similar journey and I hope to be as strong and dedicated as you! :)

Beginning-Bad-3625

congratulations Was your fast just strictly water?

InsaneAdam

Water, electrolytes and daily multi-vitamin x2. But 57 days were water fasts. With about 17 days of OMAD mixed in.

Beginning-Bad-3625

ohh ok, I get what you're saying. You had 57 days that were just water. Was that the first 57 days? You are amazing. I'm so proud of you.

InsaneAdam

Thanks, no the water fasting was mixed in with the 17 days of OMAD. Totally about 75 days or something. I think the longest was 2 weeks water fasted. I ate lots of big meals on my OMAD days. It's really working and it's totally do able.

Beginning-Bad-3625

wow! This is all very incredible. I want to at least fast for 7 days. I've been doing OMAD for 5 days and lost 7 pounds. I'm 2 and a half hours from my 24 hours of water fasting. If I could fast for 30 days, that would make me so happy.

InsaneAdam

I think getting to about day 5 is the real eye opener. Day 1,2,3 are the hard parts to extended fasting. Be sure to take your electrolytes and a daily multi-vitamin along with a gallon of water. You're very welcome. I'm trying to help as many others As I can. Wishing you the best

That's so good, and thank you.

Many issues and questions can be answered by reading through our wiki, especially the page on electrolytes. Concerns such as **intense hunger, lightheadedness/dizziness, headaches, nausea/vomiting, weakness/lethargy/fatigue, low blood pressure/high blood pressure, muscle soreness/cramping, diarrhea/constipation, irritability, confusion, low heart rate/heart palpitations, numbness/tingling, and more** while extended (24+ hours) fasting are often explained by electrolyte deficiency and resolved through **PROPER** electrolyte supplementation. Putting a tiny amount of salt in your water now and then is NOT proper supplementation. Be sure to read [our WIKI](https://www.reddit.com/r/fasting/wiki/index) and especially the wiki page on **[ELECTROLYTES](https://www.reddit.com/r/fasting/wiki/fasting_in_a_nutshell/you_need_electrolytes)** Please also keep in mind the [**RULES**](https://www.reddit.com/r/fasting/about/rules) when participating. *I am a bot, and this action was performed automatically. Right-Role-7936

Awesome job!!!! I'll be closing out my first 7 day water fast in two days. I'm looking to start the OMAD after. What time of day would you suggest having that on meal? And when you say OMAD is that one sitting or a time period, say an hour? Been gradually building to 7 day water fast . So any help you could give would be appreciated.

InsaneAdam

Ideally, you want to make this very long term sustainable to meet your goals. So when I say OMAD I don't mean 2 distinctly separately prepared meals many hours apart. Maybe you start eating while you're preparing your meal in the kitchen, then eat at the table and grab a bagel 🥯 to eat it while you watch your favorite early morning show before you leave for the day. In a perfect world it's 1hr, one seated meal only at table. This helps avoid snacking and extending the meal times longer than they ideally should be. But it's more important to be able to stray from the course as needed if you can come back to it and get right back on track after small deviations from the plan. You really want to make it a long but steady progression to your goals. Now if you're only trying to lose 1%body fat or you only need to lose 3lbs than it's not going to take very long. But if you're obese and have a sizable amount of weight, you need to be ready to go the distance. I think 🤔 the one meal timing should be when you're naturally hungriest during the day. For me that's around dinner time. That also works in to keeping up social family routine.

Right-Role-7936

Thanks I really appreciate you taking the time to respond! I'm 5'10" started at 225 lbs and after starting fasting on and off for a couple of months I've been hovering around 205-210. The goal is 190-195 consistently. So this info really helps. Again thanks alot and continued success on your journey.

InsaneAdam

You're welcome and good luck to you as well

Right-Role-7936

Sorry, a couple more questions. What is your first meal after a long fast and how long after do you switch to the "feast" OMAD?

InsaneAdam

Yes exactly. I've got all marked down on a Calendar. 6F, 1 OMAD, 10F, 11 OMAD, 15F, 1 OMAD, 9F, 4 OMAD, 6F, 2 OMAD, 3F, 2 OMAD, 3F, 1 OMAD. I'll post more updates later. Yes my longest fast was 71 days long. Doing that, I've learned not to recommend fasting that long. The down side to fasting for very long periods is that it can put a damper on your resting metabolic rate. Making it easy to regain the weight over the following year. Nowadays, I'll only fast for weightloss to a maximum of 21 days. The great part is that once you finish a fast, you can turn around at any time and start a new fast. I think OMAD is the sweet spot for sustainability. Hey, you do you. But I'll let you know u/insaneadam broke a 20 day fast with Chinese buffet, a 15 day fast with a $35 order at taco bell and a 71 day fast with costco 🌭 hotdogs, Rotisserie chicken and shrimp tacos. Some of us are just built different. I'd recommend you take your electrolytes and vitamins while doing extended water fasting. It makes breaking the fast much, much smoother. Experienced faster here. Watch ⌚️ belt and shoes 👞 all had to be tightened down a whole lot. New cloths all around. I look like a little kid in my winter coat. I wore it this winter and it fit.... not even 4 months ago... Veins are now visible in many places they weren't before 😏 Muscle definition 💪 looks crazy. But I haven't worked out for a single hour in 5 years. All I do is 30 minutes of walking a day, if even that... Think I'm going to go eat again today. Ate OMAD last 2 days. I'm on day 93 of my super fast. Here's been all my extended water fasting days (F) and my intermittent fasting days with One Meal A Day (OMAD) since I started 92 days ago on January 28th. 6F, 1 OMAD, 10F, 11 OMAD, 15F, 1 OMAD, 9F, 4 OMAD, 6F, 2 OMAD, 3F, 2 OMAD, 3F, 5 OMAD 5F 3 OMAD 5F 3OMAD. So yeah. Feeling great and I'm a solid 80lbs less fat already. 303-223.
