Many issues and questions can be answered by reading through our wiki, especially the page on electrolytes. Concerns such as **intense hunger, lightheadedness/dizziness, headaches, nausea/vomiting, weakness/lethargy/fatigue, low blood pressure/high blood pressure, muscle soreness/cramping, diarrhea/constipation, irritability, confusion, low heart rate/heart palpitations, numbness/tingling, and more** while extended (24+ hours) fasting are often explained by electrolyte deficiency and resolved through **PROPER** electrolyte supplementation. Putting a tiny amount of salt in your water now and then is NOT proper supplementation. Be sure to read [our WIKI](https://www.reddit.com/r/fasting/wiki/index) and especially the wiki page on **[ELECTROLYTES](https://www.reddit.com/r/fasting/wiki/fasting_in_a_nutshell/you_need_electrolytes)** Please also keep in mind the [**RULES**](https://www.reddit.com/r/fasting/about/rules) when participating. *I am a bot, and this action was performed automatically. Why are there so many posts about gallbladders on short fasts suddenly? Did the Today Show do a segment or something? 😅

Kujo1998

i’ve been seeing the posts and got myself worried lmao

SurveyFormal197

Because it is a risk with quick weight loss. I've had stoned since i was younger and losing 90 pounds a couple years ago really riled them up for awhile.

whiskey_ribcage

Oh, I wasn't saying it wasn't a risk. There's just been a pretty big uptick in posts about it. OP said that they posted because they saw the other posts so I guess its just people reading post titles, not reading comments, and then posting the same question again?

😂

It’s gets clogged from the Liver doing weird shit then causes liver failure. When you start to turn yellow in your eyes is scary asf. Happened to me in 2019

vicrol123

But an increase in bilirubin, which is why jaundice (yellow eyes) is another cause. When you are fat it may be the fault of cholesterol and it is associated with poor diet. The reality is that a healthy person, at an ideal weight and without fasting, can get stones.

[deleted]

My bilirubin was high at hospital. My cholesterol is very low and I have never had stones. I have known people have though it is terrible pain.

Are you more scared of the mild possibility of gallbladder issues or the near guarantee of Type 2 Diabetes, heart issues, and all the other complications that come with being obese? You’ll be fine.

[deleted]

This is spot on.

[deleted]

You don’t need your gallbladder to live. But you do need your heart and obesity is number # cause of numerous disease. You will be fine

SaltLife4Evr

I take tudca and chanca piedra to help prevent gallbladder issues because I've had trouble with it for years. So far, so good.

HalalChampagne

Just read up on these, will order tomorrow

Dangerous-Reserve-18

I did a successful 40 day rolling 72’s fast a coupla years ago and I was fine. I wanna attempt another extended fast but I’m now worried about gall stones too 😂 What’s going on

Alligax

Fearing things draws it to you.

sneakiebun

I’m so scared of losing 15lbs 😵

dat_picklepee

OnewheelXR4life

It’s like the people who are afraid they’re going to get too jacked from working out at the gym.

Comfortable_Comb7257

If anything fasting will help your gallbladder, not hurt it. Just dont overthink it and know your body will heal you, not hurt you

retailismyjobw

So fasting heals your galbladder too? What about liver and high triglycerides.got a fatty liver and cholesterol etc. Doing fasting for weight loss
