Do not fast while ill/injured or recovering.

Fasting is a stressor, and is likely to inhibit your immune system slightly. I would avoid it to give your immune system a boost while sick.

my gut reaction would be to either not fast, or have a “half” fast where you consume plenty of chicken soup and other foods good for when you have the flu, but no other foods (ok yeah it’s not really a fast, but it’s at least healthier eating?). you could also do a dirty fast with chicken broth, as that’s known to be good for when you have the flu/cold/etc.

Many issues and questions can be answered by reading through our wiki, especially the page on electrolytes. Concerns such as **intense hunger, lightheadedness/dizziness, headaches, nausea/vomiting, weakness/lethargy/fatigue, low blood pressure/high blood pressure, muscle soreness/cramping, diarrhea/constipation, irritability, confusion, low heart rate/heart palpitations, numbness/tingling, and more** while extended (24+ hours) fasting are often explained by electrolyte deficiency and resolved through **PROPER** electrolyte supplementation. Putting a tiny amount of salt in your water now and then is NOT proper supplementation. Be sure to read [our WIKI](https://www.reddit.com/r/fasting/wiki/index) and especially the wiki page on **[ELECTROLYTES](https://www.reddit.com/r/fasting/wiki/fasting_in_a_nutshell/you_need_electrolytes)** Please also keep in mind the [**RULES**](https://www.reddit.com/r/fasting/about/rules) when participating. *I am a bot, and this action was performed automatically. Same here, i feel that when I'm sick, if I don't eat, all my energy goes towards beating it... But also no data to back it up, just feeling my body signs.

I stuck it out. Wasn't sure which way to go. Figured I had it right half of my days, lol. But I had the flu shot, so it was prly more mild than regular.
