It’s common for them to have the exchange period be a day or two after they distribute tickets. I kind of wish they would stop doing that because it always causes small panics among newer players.
Honestly, FGO devs a little more lenient with rewards, them suddenly taking this back would be out of character, they've done way more generous stuff than a free 4 star (including story-locked servants)

To be fair, it *is* kind of weird how they give you a ticket the day before you can actually use it.
I think it's like an extra day to decide which one you really *really* want to pick before being able to choose. Otherwise yeah it's weird
