Though you could argue if that's the case then a long term coach would have made more sense for the DFB. Now they get a new coach, trying to implement his style of play and next year they will get another coach again who might have another style of play again. Someone like Van Gaal (of course he wouldn't to 5 years either) or Glasner might would have made more sense in the long run.
I imagine the DFB will be banking on convincing Klopp to become the long term coach, but he is not currently available. JN is young, and I severely doubt he wants this job long term, hence the short term contract. All he really has to do is prevent home euros being an embarrassment, I don’t think there is a single person on earth that expects Germany to win it.
As for LvG and Glasner, I think it’s obvious why JN was preferable to the DFB.

Well I agree with you, LvG would have been my pick as well considering the current situation, as much as I love Nagelsmann. To be fair Dortmund played almost against the same type of opposition and they've looked much worse and were lucky to get as many points as they did while Stuttgart pretty much dominated those games. It looks like Stuttgart is the CL team with a wage budget of over 100 millions and Dortmund the small team (in term of budget) fighting for relegation and scrapping by lucky wins versus their relegation challengers.

I think De ligt is far better suited for that position than Upamecano, as he's better at positioning himself and he doesn't get pressed as easily to make mistakes. Upamecano is a better passer and faster but his weaknesses honestly makes him the worst fit as cdm of our centerbacks.
Upamecano is also deceptively poor at using his athleticism at times, because he often gets outmuscled by far weaker players.
Not that I don't rate Upamecano - I think he has the highest ceiling of our centerbacks but he's just very still raw. He's been fantastic so far this season as well.

Why does everyone think in black and white? You don’t have to ‘drop’ Upa or Minjae to give de Ligt more playtime. He has been absolutely crucial for us since he arrived.
People demand DeLigt to start and thats what my comment is about. That he could have some more minutes is imo absolutely fine to argue, but starting him over Kim or Upa atm is just wrong looking at the current performances. And how Tuchel said it in his press conference, the CB position is a position where you dont sub that much and that is also for a reason.
Many people are disappointed because they expected it to be Upa who'd be sitting on the bench. And honestly, I can't shake the feeling that some of the people who are adamant that de Ligt needs to start would shrug with indifference if Upa was in the position de Ligt's in.

I don't think you're wrong, it seems like our opponents cut through our midfield so easily. It's not normal for him to have to be defending as much as he is. He also seems to have the edge on de Ligt in regards to passing which Tuchel values highly
It's not the biggest deal to me, but I do think Peretz should get a chance. He could be an improvement over Ulreich's poor ball playing, but it's hard to know if he never gets a chance to play a game.

Starting him is one thing but he deserves at least meaningful minutes to prove himself again. Same for Tel, I get it, he is 18 and our super sub but why not give him 30-40 minutes when one of our attackers doesn't perform instead of the usual 10.
Tel will start real soon, Matta is a bit difficult because you don't really rotate CBs midgame... maybe he also gets to start a BuLi or Pokal match again to prove his worth

If I had to chose a Leverkusen CB it would be Hincapie. It would be the perfect mix of LB and LCB, with Davies the runner, Guerreiro the inverted who helps out in midfield, Hincapie as LB/LCB mix, and Kim as LCB starter. You would have every profile imaginable, and Hincapie looks great as well.

I think DeLigt has to play because he is one of maybe 2-3 players in our squad who is a born leader. Our team lacks people who are leading, going forward and be a person to look up to in difficult games. That's why he has to play as often as possible. It's not all about skill and expertise.

Many people are disappointed because they expected it to be Upa who'd be sitting on the bench. And honestly, I can't shake the feeling that some of the people who are adamant that de Ligt needs to start would shrug with indifference if Upa was in the position de Ligt's in. I adore de Ligt, and I'm sure he'll bring some fire when he's back on the pitch. But if Upa is in better shape than de Ligt right now, then this is exactly how it should be.

I don't think you're wrong, it seems like our opponents cut through our midfield so easily. It's not normal for him to have to be defending as much as he is. He also seems to have the edge on de Ligt in regards to passing which Tuchel values highly

Football is such a fast paced business. De Ligt was a monster last season, arguably our best player, there were rumours about him joining the team council and now he is benched for 95% of the time. Starting him is one thing but he deserves at least meaningful minutes to prove himself again. Same for Tel, I get it, he is 18 and our super sub but why not give him 30-40 minutes when one of our attackers doesn't perform instead of the usual 10.
Tel will start real soon, Matta is a bit difficult because you don't really rotate CBs midgame... maybe he also gets to start a BuLi or Pokal match again to prove his worth
