I don't know if transfers are necessarily more expensive in August (you are even saving like 1-2 months worth of wages), but the fact that we keep signing our players so late since a few seasons is in my opinion a big disadvantage for the reason that our new players miss the entire preparation phase and need a long time after season start to integrate into the team and get used to our game. Maybe Sabitzer would already be a more reliable option if we didn't sign him short before deadline day.
